Because they want us to believe that there is more racism in this country than there really is. They use the N word more than anyone else anyways

Yeah but apparently its alright if they use it because its like a term of endearment or something. Fuck that noise, if the word offends you so much, stop saying it.

So I just watched it and I'm not understanding the issue.

Saw Les Mis.

Not my cup of tea. Fine performances by everyone, but no emotional connection to the film, and I was expecting the film to end about an hour and a half in.

Have you seen Lincoln Fuji? I think that's next on the Oscar nominees list.

Yep. I thought it was quite good, Daniel Day Lewis is his usual powerhouse self. It's a pretty accessible story too for the most part, so even people who don't particularly like historical films shouldn't find it too off-putting. You should check out Silver Linings Playbook as well, its fantastic.

I really want to see Playbook as I'm a fan of Bradley Cooper, but it's already been and gone in cinemas here so I gotta wait for the DVD release.

Wow, I was sure all the award show snobs were overpraising... have you guys seen Silver Linings Playbook since that seems to be held at Les Mis level right now?

EDIT: I see Silver Linings was brought up while I was taking my time writing that comment!

I finally watched 'O Brother, Where Art Thou?' over the weekend and totally loved it! The cast rocked, has to be like the best thing Clooney's done. I also somehow ended up watching The Mighty Ducks trilogy and realized it's the exact same plot for each movie but I still love them I guess for childhood reasons.
