Not at all, males are the same sex, pretty much why I feel more uncomfortable around them rather than lesbians, as they are the opposite sex.

In any case, your thread is "How do you feel about gays", and I told you how I feel about gays.

I'm not saying that just because somethings P.C it should be accepted, but in my circle of friends and family, gay people are widely accepted. It's more the manor that people are reacting to it, in a very blatantly immature and childish manor. Making comments like "Unless your a lesbian" I mean that just totally undermines the theory that they believe it's technically wrong to have feelings for the same sex, it just proves my point that it's all about male-male relationships, which suggests fear of feeling weak, vunerable, unmasculin etc. You can say it's not fear, and that all you like - but it just doesn't make sense when you accept double standards.

This is not aimed at you dairydude btw, as I don't think you've said that.

If there accepted around your friends & family then i can't argue against your opinion... Now where's in my family & friends as well, Homosexuality would probably get you dis-owned since my Grandparents are preachers at a local church & are the most religious people you'll ever meet.

So you can say it's quite normal for you probably to accept Homosexuals as most of your family & friends as you said don't have a problem with them.

With me though it's the other way around! I find it absurd just for people to accept them willy nilly & that's because from the background i come from & getting preached by 24/7 by my family about what is wrong & what is right. I don't see the need that i have to change my belives just because a few people on a forum don't agree with me.

That's the problem, people here can't accept others opinion. & Nowadays as Dairydude says most are just trying to stay in with the bullshit P.C!

Anyweis this isn't a rant against you gashface but just overall... I respect every1's opinion (If there rational) but i just don't see what were doing so wrong by not accepting Hoosexuals... (By Me i say the 1'ns opposed to it)

the reason its suddenly seen as down right evil to not accept Gays, is because the majority of society has, with shows like queer eye, its seems that people that would have had a problem with it 50 years ago don't.

oh yeah here is something that kind of pisssed me off, i was watching the news and there was a Baptist preacher on and they were talking about how some gays were petionting the government, to make it so that the Church cant preach that Homosexuality is a sin. Now with all the things i have to deal with when it involves Gays and accept them, or be a social outcast (if you don't believe me look at this thread) then i think thats a bunch of bullshit.....

I see I'm not going to win this one, all I can say is that you are wrong. Outcasting somebody because of sexual preference or thinking any less of them, JUST WRONG, it's the same as racism or not being somebodie's friend because they have blue eyes or something.

wake up and smell the coffee...most people in todays society are perfectly fine with gays, in other words YOU won, congratulations ( like this was some type of game?)

you have a small minority like me who are religious and don't accept that kind of lifestyle, then you have homophobias, and people who just hate any one not like them...

This may be totally off but it would be interesting to see how many of the men in the world who are against homosexuals have lesbian porn on their computer etc...
It's funny how people can be totally against something but are able to make exceptions to suit themselves.

Some people are preaching about how it is a sin...well how many of you have had sex before marraige? cheated on a partner?
infact....how often to you attend church?
Now wasnt it a quote from the bible who said "he without sin cast the first stone?"

and i dont believe that being attracted to someone of the same sex is a sin,far from it,but it's just stupid for people to suddenly use their religeon as an excuse to against something just because you dont understand something. Just because you dont understand it,doesn't mean it's wrong.

And come on,when was the last time a gay man came up and bent you over in a club or something? i doubt ever.

You're not out of this world yet.

to answer your questions
1. i attend church every Sunday
2. im still a virgin, why? because sex before marriage is a sin
3. i had a girlfriend never cheated on her...

Ok, how else can i explain this, cause i have done it like a thousand times in this thread...

in the bible it says sex with the same sex is a sin ergo Gays and lesbians are sinning when they have sex..

and your right about the casting the first stone thing, but im just trying to get everyone awhere that it a sin...

it wasn't actually directed specifically at you.
I respect the fact you are religious, but i know for a fact there has been people who have used religion as an excuse for them to say they are against it.

and it's obviously not going to go down very well, because that is technically forcing your opinions onto others,in your opinion it is a sin,it is not a solid fact, it is a belief.
so trying to tell people that is pointless.

im not trying to put down religion,i was brought up a roman catholic, and never really believed in what i was taught, and now follow no religion.
But when i was growing up,i was taught that we should accept people for WHO they are, not WHAT they are, because god accepts everyone as we are all individuals that HE created.
And eve though i no longer follow a religion,i still believe that we should all accept others for who they are,no matter what their skin colour, sexual orientation, religion, etc.

quick sidenote because i was brought up Roman Catholic too. Did you know that our religion had it all wrong? we Catholics believed that it was our works and being a good person that gets you into heaven when in fact its having Jesus in your heart and being Born Again( Like HBK) besides that the catholic church has done some many wrong things through the years that its pretty safe to say that not many catholics are going to be part of the rapture. they will be on earth during the anti-Christs rule and be here during the tribulation...

now thats out of the way, yeah your right a lot of people do hide behind religion, now argument there and i think i preached enough... one last thing though

who has seen the omen? because thats real the anti Christ is alive right now and its pretty much just a matter of time before he rules earth for 7 years, the time period referred to as the tribulation, it will be after the rapture in which all the born again Christians go to heaven and there will be wide spread panic on earth becuase all the born again people vanished. the anti Christ will act as though he is trying to unit the world but really he is condemning everyone to hell. he will make you were a mark in order to buy and trade and if you dont accept the mark you will be killed...

^^^^

just remember that for me everyone so that in a couple of years you can say oh shit that guy was right

whilst I'm unsure of the rapture, i do believe in the Apocalypse (is is the same thing?)
I believe that at the end of time, good will fight and defeat evil and yes, I believe that most gays will be on the side of evil.
I say most, because being Gay does not stop them living a Christian lifestyle, it just makes them slightly hypocritical.

No it's not the same as racism & apperance...

You can actually choose wether or not to be gay! That's why i don't count it with those groups. Because you can't do anything about being black or haveing a diffrent apperance, that's just the way you are. But being a Homosexual is a choice. So that's why i'm against it! Because they CHOOSE to actually be homosexuals, they arn't born with it!

okay, so i thought this discussion was on homosexuality, not the rapture or whatever.
It sounds like an episode of star trek if you ask me.
and if the devil was trying to kill me the last thing id be thinking would be "oh gosh, that chap was right! i better go rep him"

but back on topic,
If not on a religious level, do you really have a problem with gay people on a personal or social level?
