  • I can't deal with close, not for Mordin. The original is irreplacable. Maybe for some nominal character like Hackett, as annoyed as I'd be with a change, I could probably deal with it. The original Mordin being replaced makes me want to kill him off. I won't go and alter the playthroughs I've already done, I'll keep him in those, but I hope to God he's not on your squad in this game. Seriously, I just cannot deal with re-casting. It's unbearable having to watch one character played by two different people in the same series, it breaks the logic of the game.
Cool, let me know how it works out for you. I think it's fucking fantastic. I'm usually a soldier since I like to shoot and you usually don't get the best guns unless you stick to that, but I keep stasis as my bonus power the whole game.

Grunt may be a better fighter than Wrex, but as I said, story over combat. It damn sure isn't the combat that makes ME the best series of all time. Grunt's boring, I can get through missions without needing his help, so he's of no use to me.
It will be as bad as I fear. I've said this before, I absolutely CAN'T tolerate re-casts. When I hear a different voice come out of the same character, it ruins the believability of that character for me. How am I supposed to justify how his voice changed? I know it's a different actor, but according to the story, there's no reason he SHOULD sound different. What do I do? Pretend he got some weird Salarian throat disease that changed his voice? I just can't do it, it's terrible. I don't know how you're not noticing it much. Maybe it's just because Mordin is my second favourite character, but it's pretty pronounced. Plus, the original Mordin played it perfect, this guy has no emotions whatsoever in the amount of work I've seen, he's completely dead sounding. Maybe it's just easier to kill the guy and let his memory RIP, the only problem is, I don't know how you kill JUST one character. Every time I've done something wrong, I get multiple deaths.
I take either Mordin, Garrus or Legion with me all the time, usually. Fourth would probably be Zaaed, I fucking marked for that guy despite him only being a side character. FRY, YOU SON OF A BITCH is one of the most epic moments of the series. Him talking about his rifle like he's in love with it is amazing too. I've almost never laughed harder at Mass Effect material than the story of Jessie, it's beautiful.

As for best power, easy answer for me, Stasis. Not even close. That thing takes down heavy mechs like you wouldn't believe. Makes them 10x easier, makes any enemy easier. They take more damage when they fall, too, at least from what it looks like. Plus, it makes enemies easier like Scions, who, if you're being surrounded by husks that you need to clear, or even a second Scion, are a pain in the ass with their shockwave. A good Stasis will ensure you have some breathing room.
Grunt pisses me off just because I'm an unashamedly biased Wrex loyalist. Killing Wrex shouldn't have even been an OPTION, he should've been a default squad member every game, like Garrus and Tali. Now he can't be a squad member purely for the fact that if he were, Bioware would essentially have to use the data storage of what it would take up to make 2 different games to accomodate how large of a change it would be to have him as a squad member, or to not have him, because some people will have him and some people won't. Pisses me off. If I'm looking at Grunt purely as a stand alone character, he's ok, but that's it. He's the Krogan version of Jacob. It takes a lot of doing to make a bland Krogan, all the other ones are fucking awesome. Who know who'd be awesome on your squad? That fucking shaman. Dude was BOSS.
I can tolerate Jacob. He's dull, typical, common soldier, nothing special, but nothing horrible. Jack is awful, Samara's ok, but like Jacob, typical common soldier type...commando I guess you'd say in this case.
Glad I could show you something new then, partly new, at least, lol. I've never ran into that line before without Jack though that I can remember.

I don't use Jack either, not a fan. Obviously we have different reasons, but I'm not into her character. She's the one person I wouldn't mind killing on the suicide mission....well, Jacob, Grunt and Samara too. Not that they're bad, but I could do the story without missing them, if you know what I mean. Although now, I'm actually wondering if I should kill Mordin. It pains me to say it since he's my favourite character other than Wrex, but I played the demo and since they changed his voice, I was not interested in him at all in that demo, I almost feel like it would be insulting to keep him alive.
Found another hilarious line of dialogue. Not sure if you've seen this but it's new to me

Mass Effect 2- Miranda gets owned on her loyalty mission Dialogue - YouTube

    Classic.
Yeah, I've seen those Asari's before. I just finished Garrus's loyalty mission, and I did sacrifice the council so I'll check for it.

I'll look for that Morinth line too. I haven't done Samara's recruiting mission yet but she's getting killed because I'm a Renegade, so yeah, I'll look into it.

As for that video, wow. If I could steal a line off Pam from Archer - "I swear to god, you could drown a toddler in my panties right now"
Insanity is so hard it's ridiculous, you pop out of cover for like 2 seconds, you're dead. I tried Insanity for the achievement and gave up as soon as I beat the mission where you recruit Garrus, I just couldn't handle anymore. I just have no patience for hard games, if I'm losing, I'm not having fun.

How'd you hear that dialogue line? Very cool line, I'd like to get it in my game. There's so many awesome lines in the game, but I think my favourite one is in Shadow Broker when Liara is telling Shepard about azure.

"Azure is a slang term for a part of the Asari body in some areas of Illium"

    "Where?"

"Mainly the lower reaches, near the bottom"

"I meant where on the Asari body?"

    "So did I"

Shit made me lol so hard.
Oh, I agree it was fun to play, I just thought the story got directionless by the end and I'd have rather had a stronger story than stronger gameplay. The mission with Pandora is TERRIBLE. There's one room during that mission, and I swear to God, it feels like it takes an hour to complete, because the enemies just don't fucking stop coming. You know the one I mean. Ughh. Before ME, that was my favourites series, GTA would be 3'rd, but it might even be second now. Love GTA. Nobody in video games does comedy quite like Rockstar, they're geniuses. Can't wait for GTA V, although I really hope it doesn't come out this year, because if it does, ME 3 is definately not winning GOTY at the video game awards, regardless of the fact that it will be a better game.

    Pretty easy trivia, too.
Eh, I don't know. I just care about seeing her unmasked, not the others. Seeing the whole race unmasked would be cool, but I don't need any more suspense to add to her eventual unmasking. It's been built enough, just by the relationships that you craft by talking to her. The one thing I hope they don't do is that cliché shot where she's dying and she unmasks right before she dies so that Shepard can see her face. That is the most overused, cheesy sympathy shot in the books and I hope that they give you something a lot better than that. Hopefully she just unmasks once they take back their homeworld.
