The fifth match announced for WrestleMania XL was a six pack elimination match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. The “Ring General” & current reigning and defending champion Gunther(c) facing five challengers, Those challengers being Andrade, Bronson Reed, Chad Gable, Jey Uso and Sami Zayn.​

WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
THE JUDGMENT DAY(C) VS CREED BROTHERS VS DIY VS MODERN DAY VIKINGS
When it was revealed that the WWE Undisputed Tag Team Championship would be split back into two separate sets of championships it was a shock. RAW GM Adam Pearce took to the ring on an episode of Monday Night RAW and revealed the plans for the World Tag Team Championship going forward.

He stated that two members of the Judgment Day, in this case Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh, would defend against three sets of challengers. Those being the brother duo of Brutus and Julius Creed aka Creed Brothers, DIY and the Modern Day Vikings.​

WWE UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP

After the company made the decision to part ways with the then WWE United States Champion Logan Paul. That left the company scrambling to come up with plans to crown a new champion. SD General Manager Nick Aldis appeared on an episode of Friday Night Smackdown.

To announce an Iron Survivor Challenge for the show of shows to crown a new champion, with Dragon Lee, Kevin Owens, Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio and Santos Escobar taking part in the match. ​

With the duo of Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh taking part in the match for the now Monday Night RAW exclusive World Tag Team Championship, This left the other two male members of the Judgment Day, Finn Balor and Mr MITB Damian Priest to defend the WWE Tag Team Championship.

Smackdown GM Nick Aldis announced a five team, tag team turmoil match. Featuring the Judgment Day(c), Legado Del Fantasma the LWO, the Street Profits and the New Catch Republic.​

DAWN OF FYRE(C) VS DAMAGE CTRL VS DOUBLE KC
The final championship match announced for the WWE WrestleMania XL premium live event was a triple threat women’s tag team match. For the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. As the current champions the Dawn of Fyre (Isla Dawn & Alba Fyre)(c) faced the former champions Damage CTRL and the team Katana Chance & Kayden Carter aka Double KC.​

NUMBER ONE CONTENDER - WHC
CM PUNK VS DREW MCINTYRE VS SHINSUKE NAKAMURA
RAW GM Adam Pearce announced that the trio of Cm Punk, Drew McIntyre and Shinsuke Nakamura would face off at WrestleMania XL. The winner of the triple threat match would earn themselves a future shot at the World Heavyweight Championship.

SHAYNA BASZLER VS ZOEY STARK
Following his previous announcement regarding the Number One Contender to the World Heavyweight Championship. RAW GM Adam Pearce announced that the “Queen of Spades” Shayna Baszler versus Zoey Stark for the event. The winner of the match would earn themselves a future shot at the Women’s World Championship​

WRESTLEMANIA XL NIGHT ONE
Night One of the WWE WrestleMania XL premium live event began with a fatal four way women’s division match. The winner of the match become the next in line for a shot at the WWE Women’s Championship. It featured the quartet of Bianca Belair, Jade Cargill, Naomi and Tiffany Stratton. In the end Stratton hitting the Prettiest Moonsault Ever on Belair for the win

Next the WWE Tag Team Championship was on the line in a tag team turmoil match. It began with Legado Del Fantasma and the LWO and ended with the defending champions the Judgment Day(c) and the Street Profits. Montez Ford tagged in Angelo Dawkins and then brawled with Damian Priest, while Dawkins got the better of Finn Balor for the pin.

In the third match of the night the trio of Cm Punk, Drew McIntyre and Shinsuke Nakamura faced off to crown a number one contender to the WHC. It culminated with Punk dodging an attempted Claymore from McIntyre then dragged him up and put him in position for the Go to Sleep and hit it for the win.

After that the six pack elimination challenge for the WWE Intercontinental Championship took place. As the “Ring General” Gunther(c) attempted to keep his record breaking reign with the title alive. Bronson Reed eliminated Andrade with the Tsunami Splash. Then Gunther eliminated Sami Zayn with Last Symphony. Uso got the better of Reed after a combination of a Superkick and Uso Splash off the top rope. Gable eliminated Uso via the Chaos Theory Suplex and then followed it up by trapping Gunther in the Gable Lock and he tapped out.

The penultimate match saw the duo of Seth “Freakin” Rollins(c) and Kofi Kingston squared off in one on one action for the World Heavyweight Championship. As can be expected given the talents of both men this was one hell of a match. When the match was reaching its natural conclusion it was turned on its head. As Mr MITB Damian Priest came out and proceeded to hit both men with the briefcase and then cashed in the MITB contract. Priest hoisted Rollins up and hit him with the South of Heaven on him onto Kingston and pinned the former to get the win.

Night One of WrestleMania XL ended with a one on one match for the WWE Women’s Championship. Between the reigning and defending champion Iyo Sky(c) and the challenger and winner of the 2024 Women’s Royal Rumble match Bayley. The two women were at one point very close stablemates but that all changed when Bayley won the Rumble match, which led to her expulsion from Damage CTRL for doing nothing. Sky knocked her opponent down and then went up top to attempt her Over the Moonsault finisher only for Bayley to move. Then Bayley got back to her feet and hit the Rose Plant for the win.​

WRESTLEMANIA XL NIGHT TWO
WrestleMania XL Night Two kicked off with a one on one match to crown a number one contender to the Women’s World Championship. The “Queen of Spades” Shayna Baszler faced off with Zoey Stark. In the end the former trapped the latter in the Kirifuda Clutch and Stark was forced to submit

Next the quartet of AJ Styles, Bobby Lashley, Karrion Kross and LA Knight competed for the chance to become the next in line for a shot at the WWE Championship. It concluded with a series of finishers as Knight hit the BFT on Lashley, Styles laid Kross out with the Phenomenal Forearm. Finally Knight laid Styles out with a BFT for the win.

In the third match of the night, the duo of Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn aka Dawn of Fyre(c) defeated Damage CTRL and Double KC. To retain the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. Fyre got the better of Kairi Sane with the Fyre Bomb for the pin.

After that the World Tag Team Championship was on the line in a fatal four way match. As the defending champions Dominik Mysterio & JD McDonagh aka the Judgment Day(c) defended against the Creed’s, DIY and the Modern Day Vikings. The duo of Brutus and Julius Creed aka the Creed Brothers isolated Dominik Mysterio and put him down with a Clothesline/German Suplex Combo for the win.

The fifth match of the night was for the vacant WWE United States Championship in an Iron Survivor Challenger. The field of competition consisted of Dragon Lee, Kevin Owens, Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio and Santos Escobar. It came down to the duo of Mysterio and Escobar with an even score of two a piece. However it would be the latter who got the win thanks to the Phantom Driver for the deciding fall.

In the penultimate match Rhea Ripley(c) put the Women’s World Championship on the line against both Liv Morgan and Becky Lynch. During the duration of this triple threat match each of the women involved in it had their respective chance to show what they brought to the match. It ended with Ripley laying Lynch out and then grabbing Morgan and hitting a Riptide then pinned her for the win.

Finally the show closed out with a WrestleMania 39 rematch for the WWE Championship. Between the “Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns(c) and the “American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes. The match saw interference from the other members of the Bloodline aka Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa. But it was all for nought as Rhodes was able to rise above the odds and put his opponent down with a trifecta of Cross Rhodes. ​
