WWE CHAMPIONSHIP
CODY RHODES(C) VS LA KNIGHT VS SOLO SIKOA
At WrestleMania XL, the “American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes defeated the then WWE Champion “Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns to become the new champion. At the same event the “Modern Day Megastar” LA Knight won a fatal four way match to become the number one contender to the title.

Then at the Backlash: France premium live event Rhodes teamed with both Randy Orton and LA Knight to face the Bloodline. Due to a miscommunication between the duo of Rhodes and Knight would lead to Solo Sikoa pinning Knight. Knight would take to the ring and called out Rhodes to tell him he would see him at Royalty of the Ring.

Sikoa went to SD GM Nick Aldis and stated his case of beating the number one contender to be added to the match which Aldis agreed. ​

2024 KING OF THE RING FINAL
GUNTHER VS RANDY ORTON
2024 would see the return of both the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments. Where the winners would earn a shot at either the WWE or World Heavyweight Championship(Men’s). And either the WWE Women’s or Women’s World Championship(Women’s) at Summerslam.

The “Ring General” Gunther from Monday Night RAW would defeat WWE ICC Chad Gable, Sheamus and Jey Uso to earn his spot in the final. While on the Smackdown side of things Randy Orton beat WWE USC Santos Escobar, Shinsuke Nakamura and Kevin Owens to earn his spot in the final.

The match Gunther versus Randy Orton was made official for the WWE Royalty of the Ring PLE.​

2024 QUEEN OF THE RING FINAL
BECKY LYNCH VS BLAIR DAVENPORT
The 2024 return edition of the Queen of the Ring tournament was just as exciting and action packed as the King of the Ring tournament. The winner of the tournament would earn themselves a shot at either the Women’s World or WWE Women’s Championship at the biggest party of the summer aka Summerslam.

On the Monday Night RAW side of the tournament, Becky Lynch beat Liv Morgan, Iyo Sky and Lyra Valkyria to earn herself a spot in the final. Meanwhile on the Smackdown side of the tournament, blue brand newcomer, Blair Davenport would defeat the trio of Piper Nivern, Tegan Nox and Naomi to make the final official.

It was confirmed that it would be Becky Lynch VS Blair Davenport at WWE Royalty of the Ring.​

WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
DAMIAN PRIEST(C) VS CM PUNK
At WrestleMania XL the then Mr MITB Damian Priest cashed in his contract to enter a previously one on one match between then WHC Seth “Freakin” Rollins and Kofi Kingston. He would go onto win both the match and more importantly the title.

The same event saw Cm Punk face both Drew McIntyre and Shinsuke Nakamura in a triple threat to crown a number one contender to the title. When Punk won and after Priest successfully retained the title against Rollins at Backlash.

RAW GM Adam Pearce announced Punk VS Priest for the title at Royalty of the Ring.​

The company has decided to retire and vacate the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship. It will be revealed what the plans for the now former champions, Dawn of Fyre shortly​

WWE WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP
BAYLEY(C) VS ALBA FYRE VS ISLA DAWN
As a result of the company’s decision to retire the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. Many members of the WWE Universe were left wondering what that meant for the now former champions Dawn of Fyre going forward.

SD GM Nick Aldis has revealed that as a sort of consolation prize both Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn would challenge Bayley for the WWE Women’s Championship at the WWE Royalty of the Ring PLE.​

The final two matches announced for the WWE Royalty of the Ring premium live event regarded both the WWE Intercontinental and WWE United States Championships.

As RAW GM Adam Pearce announced that Chad Gable(c) would defend the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Bronson Reed at the event.

Meanwhile SD GM Nick Aldis announced Santos Escobar(c) VS AJ Styles for the WWE US Championship.​

NXT CHAMPIONSHIP + DRAGUNOV’S FINAL NXT MATCH

The first match announced for the NXT Battleground premium live event was a one on one men’s division match. For the brand’s top prize for male superstars the NXT Championship.

At the NXT Stand & Deliver PLE, Trick Willaims sent Carmelo Hayes packing and also earned a shot at the NXT Championship. In the 2024 WWE Draft, NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov(c) was drafted to Monday Night RAW.

Wanting to be a fighting champion rather than just vacating the title, Dragunov stated he would be honored that his last match in NXT would be against Williams.​

NXT WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP
CORA JADE(C) VS ROXANNE PEREZ
The duo of the current reigning and defending NXT Women’s Champion Cora Jade(c) and the challenger Roxanne Perez have had history since both women began with the company.

On an episode of NXT, Perez challenged Jade to a title match but she declined. Which resulted in NXT GM Ava to make it a Championship Eliminator match.

When it was all said and done Perez was able to get the win and earn a title match, which was confirmed for NXT Battleground.​

NXT NORTH AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIP - ELIMINATION
OBA FEMI(C) VS JOSH BRIGGS VS KEANU CARVER
NXT GM Ava announced that the NXT North American Championship currently around the waist of Oba Femi would be on the line at Battleground. In a triple threat elimination match which would feature Femi and two challengers, the first the “Outlaw” Josh Briggs and the second Keanu Carver.


NUMBER ONE CONTENDER - NXT WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP - IRON SURVIVOR CHALLENGE

NXT GM Ava took to the ring on an episode of NXT to announce that the next challenger for the NXT Women’s Championship would be decided at NXT Battleground. In a women's Iron Survivor Challenge which would consist of Fallon Henley, Gigi Dolin, Jacy Jayne, Nikkita Lyons and Sol Ruca.
