WWE MONEY IN THE BANK 2020
The 2020 WWE Money in the Bank pay per view event kicked off with the women’s MITB Ladder Match. Which saw Asuka, Bianca Belair, Ember Moon, Kairi Sane, Mandy Rose, Naomi, Ruby Riot and Sasha Banks go to war. This opening contest concluded with Banks and Sane brawling with each other on top of a ladder, with the former being the last woman standing and she unhooked the briefcase.
Next the WWE Intercontinental Championship triple threat match took place. It saw the reigning and defending champion Sheamus attempt to defend against both Sami Zayn and Jeff Hardy. Zayn seemd poised to reclaim the belt after hitting a Blue Thunder Bomb on Hardy only for Sheamus to break up the pinfall and grab Zayn and throw him out of the ring. From here Sheamus waited until Hardy returned to his feet and hit the Brogue Kick for the win.
In the third match of the night Bayley(c) attempted to and succeeded in retaining the WWE SD Women’s Championship against the living legend herself Mickie James by way of pinfall. Although Bayley didn’t get a chance to celebrate as Mrs MITB Sasha Banks ambushed her and cashed in the briefcase and became the new champion.
After that the WWE United States Championship was up for grabs in a fatal four way elimination match. Ricochet(c) walked in as the defending champion and faced the trio of challengers, Drew McIntyre, Rey Mysterio and Randy Orton. In the end Ricochet hit a 630 Splash on Orton to remain the WWE US Champion.
The fifth match of the night was the WWE RAW Women’s Championship match. Between the champion, the “Queen of Spades” Shayna Baszler(c) and the challenger the “Queen of Flair” Charlotte Flair. It concluded with Baszler knocking her opponent out cold with a Running Knee Strike.
Next it was time for the Men’s MITB Ladder Match as AJ Styles, Andrade, Bobby Lashley, Cesaro, Daniel Bryan, Kevin Owens, Kofi Kingston and Samoa Joe went to war. When it was all said and done the “Prize Fighter” Kevin Owens unhooked the briefcase to win the match.
Then the WWE Championship was up for grabs as “Perfection Personified” Dolph Ziggler(c) attempted to defend against “Glorious” Robert Roode. It lasted twenty minutes and concluded with a new champion being crowned when Roode pinned Ziggler thanks to the Glorious DDT.
Finally the show closed out with a WrestleMania 36 rematch for the WWE Universal Championship between Edge(c) and Seth Rollins with the roles of champion and challenger reversed. It would be the former who got the win after hitting a Spear to retain the title.
