What was on the line? The NXT North American Championship currently held by “Limitless” Keith Lee.

Who would be facing at the event? Bronson Reed who defeated Lee in a non-title match on an episode of NXT.

The first non-title match announced for the event was a one on one men’s division match. Between the “Real RockNRolla” Finn Balor and Johnny “Johnny Wrestling” Gargano. The winner would also be the number one contender to the NXT Championship. ​

NUMBER ONE CONTENDER - NXT WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP
DAKOTA KAI VS TEGAN NOX
The sixth and final match announced for the ppv was a one on one women’s division match. Between the “Killa Kiwi” Dakota Kai and “Hard Nox” Tegan Nox.

The two women had been feuding after the former turned her back on the latter.

It also had the added stipulation that the winner would earn a shot at the NXT Women’s Championship.​

NXT TAKEOVER PORTLAND RECAP
NXT TakeOver Portland kicked off with a one on one men’s division match for the NXT North American Championship. Which saw “Limitless” Keith Lee(c) successfully retain the title against Bronson Reed. He did this by picking the latter up and hitting a Spirit Bomb which led to the match ending pinfall.

In the second match the “Killa Kiwi” Dakota Kai faced off with “Hard Nox” Tegan Nox to crown a number one contender to the NXT Women’s Championship. In the end it would be Kai who got the win after laying her opponent out with a Go to Kai.

After that Finn Balor went one on one with Johnny Gargano to decide who was next in line for a shot at the NXT Championship. Which Balor won after hitting a 1916 off the top rope then going back up top and hitting a Coup De Grace.

After that Rhea Ripley(c) attempted and succeeded in retaining the NXT Women’s Championship against Candice LeRae. She managed this by hitting a top rope variation of her trademark Riptide finisher.

The penultimate match of the night saw the NXT Tag Team Championship change hands. As the Broserweight’s made up of Matt Riddle & Pete Dunne beat the Undisputed Era(c).

Finally the show closed out with the NXT Championship match. Adam Cole the defending champion, Tommaso Ciampa the challenger. The former poked his opponent in one of his eyes and then rolled him up with a handful of tights. ​

Which would see the current WWE RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch attempt to defend against five challengers.

The five challengers were revealed to be Asuka, Charlotte Flair, Kairi Sane, Natalya Neidhart and Ruby Riot.​

The second match announced for the Elimination Chamber ppv event was a one on one match for the WWE Universal Championship. The current reigning and defending champion Seth Rollins(c) and the challenger Samoa Joe. It was revealed that the match would be contested under no dq rules. ​
