The Dresden Dose Blue Version: HEATWAVE

My fellow Smarks, hello again at last. This article was difficult to get motivated to finish with all that's been going on this week, but I assure you that you will find it was worth waiting for. Now, without further delay, it's the combination of all your Christmasses in one gift, it's the dessert after the big meal, it's what you anticipate as much as Raw and Smackdown. Gentlemen, one of the hardest working men in e-feds presents to you edition number eight of this column, that's right, since I brought this back there have been seven other editions preceding this one. Once again, I must set aside time to thank each and every one of you for the love you've been showing this. They are very time consuming and require a lot of dedication and hard work, so I appreciate it when I get flooded with likes, reputation comments, and thread comments.

There's still a few guys I need to get commenting on the show though, like Sam. Maybe once he reads what I write regarding the Sting/Bray Wyatt stuff later on in this review, he'll get in here and show me the same love that you guys have. Sonata Arctica demand it, Samuel. That reminds me, much like you can't have the ice that makes up that arctic without frozen water, I can't properly give you your Friday night fix without the Blue Version's mascot, so everyone please welcome back the turtle with the right to bear arms, Blastoise!

blastoise.gif

Blastoise: Aww yeah, what's up, Pokemon fans? I mean wrestling fans. I mean Smackdown fans. I mean UWF fans. I mean fans of this article. Ah forget it, you fall into all those categories, so what's up EVERYONE. Probably going to quit trying to get a different pic for myself every week, because the selection's not that diverse, however this week's may be the most win, as it's my character sprite for Pokemon Stadium. Nintendo 64 for the win! Anyhoo, the awesomeness of classic consoles aside, I'm not a doctor but I play one on the internet, and this is my prescription for all your wrestling needs, The Dresden Dose!

179900_129176670553377_1621189729_n.jpg

Really, Blastoise? You better hope Pikachu wasn't reading the comments of the Starrcade edition, I'd hate to see him show up and Thunderbolt you back into a Squirtle. And Charizard said I'm a mark for myself.

Blastoise: Watch your tone, Dresden, these cannons are always loaded.

INTRODUCTION

Heatwave opens up with an introduction stating that before the Great American Bash can get here, we must all survive the Heatwave, a clever lead-in to the show and a chance to show the poster one more time. We then are shown the opening pyro before things pan over to the announcers. As always, Good Ol' J.R. and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, who recently claimed to speak with the ghost of Adrian Adonis.

The thing of note here is that Piper goes off about Smackdown being represented by Blastoise. I smell a feud somehow. Anyway, J.R. steers the conversation towards tonight's show and it's time to kick things off as we are joined by our esteemed General Manager, Desmond Wolfe.

DESMOND WOLFE PROMO

Desmond informs Daniel Bryan that if he wants a rematch with Dean Ambrose, he's going to have to work for it. He also announces that Derrick Bateman will be debuting tonight, who is played by Killz by the way, and if he can beat Samoa Joe(EoR), he will have earned himself a spot in tonight's Rumble. I think someone was paying attention to last week's Blue Version.

Desmond also clears up things regarding the upcoming World Heavyweight Championship match in terms of how many spots there are and who's going to get a shot, naming tonight's winner of the Rumble, Batista, and the winner of the number one contendership as people with guaranteed title shots.

There's a sweet roulette wheel that Wolfe turns everyone's attention to as the match that will be for the number one contendership is determined. The roulette decides on Hardy vs. Cena, which I think is fitting since they're one of two of the non-title matches that had three trash talks from both participants.
Wolfe congratulates Cena and Hardy, then announces there will be a lottery later to see who gets to be the final participant at the Great American Bash. So far, I'm really enjoying Wolfe in this role, and not because he's handing out title shots like they're fresh chocolate chip cookies either.

REY MYSTERIO PROMO

This promo is very interesting. When I first read him referred to as a superhero in the Smackdown preview, I thought it was just a comparison being made, but now I see that he is actually being played as if he were a superhero. I don't know about you guys, but I think that's brilliant. Rescuing the cat is a little cliche', but in a good way. Great idea you've got here, Chase.

EuropeanChampionshipMatch.png

Notable spots: RVD flipping senton onto Miz and Heyman on the outside of the ring, Heyman chokes RVD with his coat, Miz's failed attempt to prevent the enziguiri, refereee Charles Robinson gets knocked out by Miz, RVD baseball slides a ladder into Miz and Heyman, Miz piledrives RVD through the Spanish announce table after hitting him a few times with one of the monitors, RVD kicking out of the pin after the piledriver, Diving Van Daminator.
Your winner, Rob Van Dam. But because it's by disqualification, the European Champion is still Miz. Boy the European Champions know how to squeak by and barely keep their title, don't they? Oh well, Bill Alfonso now serves as his manager, so that's a positive.

BACKSTAGE PROMO: DAMIEN SANDOW AND DESMOND WOLFE

Damien informs Desmond that, more or less, everyone on the UWF roster and in the UWF crowd are unintelligent and doomed to be destroyed by their own ignorance unless he is allowed to save them with his enlightenment. He also asks that he not be forced to face unworthy competition, for the sake of the show's quality. Desmond denies his request and tells him to get out of his office, to which Damien complies, after warning Wolfe that this isn't over. As I have noted in the past, Sandow is Smackdown. I love the way he illustrates his point since I've been known to talk in that manner at times. With the larger words that is, not so much the inflection he speaks them with.

IN-RING PROMO: DEAN AMBROSE

Ambrose proclaims himself the king of Smackdown and boasts that he will do anything to win, especially now that he has a championship that can be put on the line. Dean refers to his title defense tonight as "no big deal" because he's beaten DiBiase before as well as six previous number one contenders and two former world champions, making him near unstoppable. He tells Ted that monsters are real and warns him that tonight, he might face one. Captain put out a very strong effort for his first promo as champion, you may very well prove yourself to be the king of Smackdown in time.

COMMERCIAL ONE

Heatwave's first commercial of the night is for UWF's next pay-per-view, the Great American Bash. Great American Bash is coming in almost a month exactly, July the 22nd. Can't wait to see what the card will end up looking like.

RyderJarrett.png

Before I get into the match, I'd like to share this. This weekend I met one of my wife's cousins for the first time and found out he's a huge wrestling fan like me. Turns out his theme music is the same as BDC's Jeff Jarrett.

Notable spots: Only one spot for this contest, since the match itself ends up just being a successful pin attempt, and that spot is Ted DiBiase running out during Ryder's entrance and beating him down.

Your winner, Jeff Jarrett. Right now Jarrett is one of the men to beat right now, and I look forward to finding out who it's going to be.

BACKSTAGE PROMO: DANIEL BRYAN

Daniel Bryan talks about how undeserving Dean is of the World Heavyweight Championship, and claims that he will win tonight's battle royal and go on to take it away from him. He blames Wolfe for Ambrose being the champion, which he overhears, and the two trade words, prompting Desmond to make Daniel the number one entrant in the Rumble. I can feel the passion in this promo, and Wolfe continues to prove why he's great in this role. You don't cross the boss, sunshine.

GUTCHECK.png

Notable spots: Honestly, this whole match was great, I loved the psychology behind it. Joe delivering most of the offense leads you to believe that Bateman doesn't stand a chance, but then the rookie gets the win out of nowhere with a well-timed roll-up and just like that, we've got our fifteenth man for tonight's Rumble.

BACKSTAGE PROMO: DEAN AMBROSE AND DESMOND WOLFE

Heatwave cuts backstage as Dean Ambrose is seen walking to the locker room, but he is stopped by Desmond Wolfe and is informed that he has his own personal locker room, and is then shown to it. Where's Stone Cold's personal locker room, Teddy?

COMMERCIAL TWO

Heatwave's second commercial of the night is for Eve Torres and her entrance theme, which EoR has apparently taken a liking to. Can't say I disagree, though I am fonder of Eve herself.

SandowMysterio.png

I wrote this match, as I told you I would, so I will make it a point to not say much about it at all. Looks like a few things were added, which I don't guess is a big deal, but why ask me to write you a match if you don't think my work is good enough as is?

BACKSTAGE PROMO: STING

After having an awesome trash talking session with Sam this week, I was really in the zone as the Stinger, so I cut a promo for Smackdown and this is what I came up with. I hope that you guys enjoyed it, I'm not feeling my current run as Sting so far and I don't think I'm alone on that.

MichaelsBatista.png

Notable spots: Sweet Chin Music countered into a spinebuster, Batista Bomb denied in favor of Sweet Chin Music, Figure Four denied, Spear sidestepped and countered into the Crossface, Piper mentioning me on commentary, Pedigree attempt, Piper shooting on commentary again, Batista Bomb reversed into a sunset flip pin, the near ten count being cut off by a pin attempt, Sweet Chin Music countered into a spinebuster again, the second consecutive spinebuster.
Your winner, Batista. A second loss in a row doesn't look good for Michaels, but Batista is looking like a million bucks right now, I mean this dude is killing everybody in his path. Being drafted to Smackdown was the shot in the arm needed, Captain I would be worried about my title if I were you, and that's before you factor in the other participants. I am super impressed by Andrew's Batista run so far.

BACKSTAGE PROMO: JOHN CENA

Cena talks about how shocked he is that he lost at Starrcade, and apologizes for failing to follow through on his boasts to beat Orton and rid the UWF of the New World Order. The interview then shifts to his thoughts on his match against Hardy, boasting that he will beat Jeff and if he doesn't, he will win the Royal Rumble. Cena gets everyone hyped and the promo is over. Cena is another nice addition to the blue brand, a strong personality. Even though it isn't SBS behind the Chain Gang Soldier, Blizzard does both SBS' portrayal and Cena himself justice.

COMMERCIAL THREE

Heatwave's third commercial of the night is for Tuesday Night Raw, Smackdown's competition and Charizard's stomping grounds. Promoted in this commercial are Robert Roode, UWF Champion Stone Cold, and some random faction. This amused me but Stone Cold should get top billing, ya piece a' trash.

StingWyatt.png

Notable spots: Eli pulling the ropes down, Eli getting assaulted by Sting and providing the distraction for Bray Wyatt to deliver a low blow and his finisher.
Your winner, Bray Wyatt. I'm extremely bummed that I lost this match. It's not that Sam didn't deserve to win, I was just really hoping to avenge my loss from last week, but I failed. It was cool that Bray had to cheat to do it, but at the same time I feel like I got screwed here.

BACKSTAGE PROMO: TED DIBIASE, JR. AND TED DIBIASE, SR.

Ted Jr. explains that he attacked Zack Ryder to shut up his boasting about beating Ted a month ago, and because he felt beating Zack a few weeks ago wasn't enough to satisfy him. He also did it to prove to Dean Ambrose that he can be hardcore. Enter Ted Sr. Ted Sr. tries to wish his son luck, but Ted Jr. lets loose on him in response, ripping on the Million Dollar Man in every way possible. Ted Sr. tries to tell Ted Jr. that he doesn't mean what he's saying, and gets a slap to the face for his troubles. Nice way to get heel heat before the main event, and a nice recreation of what happened on actual television a few years ago.

DBHHH.png

Notable spots: The series of kicks, Harley Race high knee, Bryan not using the brass knuckles, Ted DiBiase's interference which distracted Triple H long enough for Daniel to apply the Yes Lock.

Your winner, Triple H. DiBiase, much like Ambrose, has been all over this show in several capacities thus far. He beat down Ryder, cost Triple H his match, one has to wonder where the Million Dollar Son will strike next.

COMMERCIAL FOUR

Heatwave's fourth commercial of the night is for the return of Maria Brink. Welcome back, I suppose.

CenaHardy1.png

Notable spots: Piper comparing Jeff Hardy to Kiss on commentary, the chin lock/sleeper hold hybrid that Jeff Hardy applies, the mock "You Can't See Me' gesture, Attitude Adjustment countered into the Twist of Hate.

Your winner and new number one contender to the World Heavyweight Championship, Jeff Hardy. It's a testament to Lewb's ability to leave the Raw title picture and enter the Smackdown title picture within such a short span of time.

COMMERCIAL FIVE

Heatwave's fifth commercial of the night is for this very article, the "mother of all Dresden Doses". I'm not sure I've properly delivered on that, but thank you for the plug and the anticipation regardless. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to backyard wrestle again this weekend or this would've been up a lot sooner.

15ManRoyalRumbleMatch.png

Notable spots: Attitude Adjustment reversed into a DDT, Shawn connects on Bryan with Sweet Chin Music and gets the Attitude Adjustment right after, Roddy Piper being entrant four, Piper eliminating Michaels after a poke to the eye, Piper eliminating himself and Bateman, the various numbers games(HHH vs. Wyatt & Bryan; HHH vs. Wyatt, Bryan, & Miz; HHH & Cena vs. Wyatt, Bryan & Miz; Sting, HHH, & Cena vs. Wyatt, Bryan, & Miz), the triple irish whip, Death Drop on Wyatt followed by Pedigree to Bryan followed by Attitude Adjustment to Miz.

Guitar shots to HHH & Cena, the baseball bat coming into play, Yes Lock reversed, Jeff Jarrett eliminated by Rey Mysterio(first UWF loss), Sandow promo, Sandow getting eliminated by Sting after taking a High Knee followed by an Attitude Adjustment followed by a 619, Rey Mysterio being eliminated without it being announced, Sandow beating down JTG and taking his spot only to get eliminated by Sting again, Heyman barely saves Miz from elimination, The Miz and RVD being eliminated by a Rolling Thunder through a ladder, Desmond Wolfe being entrant fifteen.

Samoa Joe eliminating Daniel Bryan, Wolfe removing himself from the match after the distraction is over, Eli Cottonwood eliminating Sting, Attitude Adjustment on Bray Wyatt to the outside.

Your winner, John Cena. The final four were Blizzard, Sam, Aniking, and me. Surprisingly rey was not one of them as he traditionally either wins rumbles or makes it to the very end. After the match, Wolfe uses the lucky lottery and Bray Wyatt is chosen to be in the World Heavyweight Championship match as well. He also announces a rematch between The Miz and RVD for the European Championship in a Full Metal Mayhem match at the Great American Bash!
Not to sound bitter, but Cottonwood screwed me twice. With Bray in the title match, I have to wait to get my revenge. What am I going to do at the Bash?

COMMERCIAL SIX

Heatwave's sixth commercial, and final commercial of the evening, is for...well, I don't know actually, just some blonde chick. Might be the same one from earlier.

WHC.png

Notable spots: The steel steps coming into play at the beginning of the match, headlock into a bulldog, Sit-out spinebuster, DiBiase hits Ambrose with the title, One Hitter doesn't end match due to no conscious ref to count the pin, DiBiase cheats to win the World Heavyweight Championship.
Your winner, Ted DiBiase. Congratulations to Prodigy for ending Captain's reign so soon, quite an impressive feat, no doubt. The king of Smackdown has been dethroned and the crown now sits on the head of another.

WHC.png

I'm fine with Desmond restarting the match, but there's a lapse in logic here. He didn't do anything about Cottonwood costing me my singles match, he didn't do anything about Cottonwood costing me the Rumble, he allowed Jarrett and Ryder to go on even though Zach was in no state to compete, and he allowed Triple H to be cost his victory as well. All that goes undisciplined, but not this, and not what happened with Miz and RVD. Anyhoo, while DiBiase is arguing with the referee, Ambrose gets him with a roll-up and that's all she wrote.

Your winner, Dean Ambrose. Congratulations to Captain on winning your belt back so quickly, that is something that doesn't happen much. The crown may have shifted, but now it's back on Captain's head, the king of Smackdown.

Wolfe comes out and announces, for Great American Bash, Dean Ambrose(c) versus John Cena versus Batista versus Bray Wyatt versus Jeff Hardy versus Ted DiBiase in the first ever Six-Man King of the Mountain Ladder match for the World Heavyweight Championship!

OVERALL THOUGHTS

This felt like a pay-per-view, despite the fact that many of the matches had interference of some kind, it had a big show feel to it. Like I said, it sucks to be 0 and 3 with Sting, but hopefully my luck will turn around. If not, I'll probably drop him. Great show, let's see what Smackdown has in store for next week.

UWFSmackdownban.png

Next week's Smackdown will be the inception of the Deuces Wild tournament, which pits six teams against each other with the winning team getting a shot at unidentified gold.

MATCH ONE

On one side of the ring will stand the combination of two of Smackdown's most dominant performers as of late, one of the number one contenders Batista and Jeff Jarrett, who have chosen to be referred to as the "Tennessee Animals". Their opposition will be Smackdown's superhero Rey Mysterio and the rookie Derrick Bateman, otherwise known as Heroes in Training.

I like the team names as well as the members chosen for the match, BDC and Andrew versus Chase and Killz. Right now the trash talk count is 2 to 0, in favor of the Tennessee Animals.

MATCH TWO

In this contest, the man that boasts he has no worthy competition will team with a man that claims to be the best wrestler alive, as Daniel Bryan and Damien Sandow form the "Intellectual Dragons" to take on the undefeated Samoa Joe and the "Icon" Sting who is still trying to get a win in UWF, or "Killtime!" as they're billed.

Hoov and rey are indeed a formidable team, but they've never been tag team champions together, EoR and I have. Now, with this Deuces Wild tournament, we look to recreate the magic that was S.C.A.R. and make our team of Samoa Joe and Sting the most unstoppable force in not only the tournament, but the federation. Could've done better than "Killtime!", but it'll have to do. Currently the trash talk count is one each, Sandow and Joe have both spoken. The Stinger will be arriving tomorrow sometime.

MATCH THREE

And in the last tournament match, the "Angel in the Dirt" will team up with another man that Sting spoke out against when he was talking trash with Wyatt, the "Anti-Christ of Professional Wrestling" Jeff Hardy to become the "Preachers of the Anti-Christ". Looking to shut them up will be number one contender John Cena and World Heavyweight Champion Dean Ambrose, simply known as "The Champs".

Sam and Lewb are another impressive team, but Captain and Blizzard also promise to be a formidable union. I like both team names for this encounter as well. At the moment, there is no thread for this match.

MATCH FOUR

After being cost a match against Daniel Bryan, Triple H is looking to get his hands on the man that did it, Ted DiBiase. This one will be good as, on an episode that's all about tag teams, this main event is an encounter between two former tag partners and Tag Team Champions. So far there is no thread for this match either.

PROMOS

John Cena, Dean Ambrose, Ted DiBiase, Daniel Bryan, Miz with Heyman, and JTG are all scheduled for promos. Anyone else is free to send one in which means Sandow will likely enlighten us and The Stinger may even pop up again.

Well guys, that's going to do it for this edition. Once again, sorry for the wait. By the way, there's a new member by the user name of #HEELRaghe that started up a Be the Booker, check that out, I'm sure he'd appreciate it. Anyhoo, The Dose will be back for the next Red Version. Until then, the doctor is out!

Re: The Dresden Dose Blue Version: HEATWAVE

Another amazing Dose Dres. I've been kind of away from wifi all weekend long aside from my phone so hopefully I can get a TT up tomorrow. I really like Piper Dres and that feud will be tough to pick a winner. UWF has so much talent all around that it's extremely hard to pick a winner. I can't imagine very long reigns from people as champions as there is always someone around the corner more than capable of taking it off your hands.

I love what you've done with the banner man! So profession, you should join the GFX league or something bro!?!?!?!

On a serious note, good Dose. Heatwave was a very well made show, and this has summed it up excellently. The King of the mountain match will be mental!

EffectsofRaven uses Baton Pass with the Lapse in logic of booking a world title match was all Mike's fault... IT'S SUPER EFFECTIVE!

Apologizes about the way things went down slightly, we tried our very best to get everyone involved, shoulda done a fifteen man King of the Mountain match but that would certainly be a clusterfuck.

Very good read and it helps Me personally work out how to improve next week.

Re: The Dresden Dose Blue Version: HEATWAVE

to clear up the match bit, there was another tt put up and I was asked if I could add some more to the match considering it went as long as others in the night and yet came out smaller. It wasn't that your work wasn't good as is, which is why the only thing added was a couple more spots keeping the structure of the match in it's original format.

And yes I do fairly well in rumbles, usually make a couple eliminations and make it to the last couple of people if I don't win. In speaking about the rumble I just liked the idea of Sandow entering with a promo and everyone kicking him out, fun spot. and yes Technically on Heatwave I had four different occasions where Sandow spoke, I shall become annoying until I get real heat from everyone!

History lesson as well, I started my e-fed career back in 2007, and I started as a tag team with Itchy. Mizfest ftw, we became tag champs as soon as we got a shot at them. So buckle up S.C.A.B or whatever you called yourselves, cause Daniel Bryan/Sandow gonna enlighten you. Think we can come up with a better tag name as well lulz.

Now that that's out of the way, great read as always Mr. Dredson. I hope everyone does appreciate just what it is you are doing, you're playing two characters one of them a world champion and you basically write a whole show by yourself two to three times a week that really has no other purpose but to entertain us. So thank you for the effort of putting the show together when I am sure it is becoming somewhat tiresome considering the sheer size of the show and the time needed to devote to it.

Brilliant edition of The Dresden Dose. I totally loved what you did with the banner. Do this next week with Charizard and I'll start loving you haha.

As for the Dose itself, it was amazing as always but this week you gave our writers a little ego stroke, which is well deserved.

Wild Dres uses Ego Stroke... It's super effective! :D

Interesting read. And as for who's gonna beat Jarrett? Not gonna happen. Jarrett is here to clean house. Interesting that he got paired with one of his main obstacles to the title hunt.

ANd Maylene and Sons of Disaster rocks!

The Dresden Dose Red Version: June 26th edition!

As I look around, all I see are a bunch of Smarks, and it comforts me because that's what I am(no references to the WWE Film intended). I have taken both the day and time into account, and even though it isn't Tuesday, the June 26th edition of Raw is in the books and posted for all to see, so it is time for me to feed your fix.

I am a bit perplexed that the Blue Version: Heatwave hasn't gotten that much love. I guess that's some of you's way of saying I took too long. Maybe you thought I was slacking off my summarizing my thoughts with Notable Spots. Maybe it's because I was openly vocal about my unhappiness.
Whatever the reason, the Green Version got much more love. Huge thanks to those that did show Blue Version: Heatwave love, Blastoise actually got praise for vandalizing my banner, that egomaniac. I guess I'll cut him some slack though since he's been verbally fired upon by one of Smackdown's commentators and seems to think he's on the cusp of a feud.

My apologies for being among those that didn't put everything I had into my Raw match this week, I feel I have again failed Cwalker and UWF as a whole. I'm the champion and couldn't find time to get a second TT in on time, after Austin clamored for a real match with true competition. I'm lucky I haven't been stripped of the belt.

Now that I've gotten that off my chest and out to the masses, let's bring the heat! Unfortunately, no that doesn't mean I am going to bust out my Eddie Guerrero, but who I am going to throw things to brings the heat just as well. Proudly representing Raw and the Red Version every single week, Charizard!

Charizard.png

Charizard: Yes, after a week off, I am back, and no one on Raw is complaining about my status as the show's review's mascot, so take that Blastoise! Tonight's going to be a great show, so let's get straight to it. But first...

553073_131357493668628_631332331_n.jpg

Charizard: Much better than Blastoise's and yours, Dresden. In fact, I think I'm going to review the whole show this week.

You can't do that, I gave you this spot and I can...

charizard03.jpg

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH! HOT! HOT! HOT!

Charizard: Too bad he only plays a doctor, because right now he's gonna need one. So now that he's out of the way, I'm the dragon that loves wrasslin' and this is what I'm providing to suit all your wrestling, and Pokemon, needs. The Charizard Dose!

I just had to see it again. In the enlightening words of Damien Sandow, you're welcome.

Umm, let's see, I haven't paid much attention to how Dresden does it. Raw opens with this guy I remember calling Goldust a smurf and some dude with a mustache. Is he a relative of Mario's? I think he's a relative of Mario's. Anyway these guys talk about what an awesome show Raw's going to be tonight and then Damon Wayans comes out. I love that guy, thought he was a lot taller though, and the glasses have him really showing his age.

Damon says that Raw's a Supershow every week, so phooey on Heatwave. I agree, and you guys seem to as well since the review of it hasn't been read or commented on that much. Damon goes on ta' tell us that Stone Cold is gonna defend his championship against Ken Anderson at the Great American Bash. Sweet, I like that Anderson guy, he's got a nice head.

The last thing Damon reveals is there will be a Raw tag team against a Smackdown tag team at the Great American Bash to crown the very first UWF Tag Team Champions, and there will be a tag team match next week to determine which team it's gonna be representin' Raw.
Damon Wayans would be more entertaining in the role of general manager if he was Homey the Clown, that way if anyone disagrees with any of the decisions he makes, he can just hit them with his sock full of quarters.

Man, this is harder than I thought. Anyway, Damon tells everyone to enjoy the show, BUT WAIT, heel alert![/COLOR]

Alright, Charizard, clearly you can't handle this, so I'm going to take my article back. And if you've got a problem with that, you can take it up with the water hose. So while Teddy Long is trying to leave the ring, he is interrupted by Christian, who sarcastically congratulates him on making such great matches, and reprimands him for not giving him what he deserves, a title match.

Teddy agrees that if Christian is able to beat Steve Austin tonight, he will be placed into the UWF Championship match at the Great American Bash. Since I have never beaten Aniking in a match that involved him, me, and a title, I'm still kicking myself for not finding the time to even up the trash talking. Is it possible this still would've happened if I did? Yes, but it wouldn't be the guarantee it turned out to be. Aniking's reward is my punishment, and now I'm going to have to fight like hell to keep my title.

COMMERCIAL ONE

Raw's first commercial of the night is promotion of the red brand's official Diva, AJ Lee. I don't know about you guys, but I'm already sick of this love triangle storyline. There doesn't seem to be a payoff for it, which makes it all pointless. Maybe the payoff is, SPOILER ALERT, coming at Money in the Bank when she special referees the WWE Championship match between C.M. Punk and Daniel Bryan.

RETURN FROM COMMERCIAL: BULLY RAY PROMO

I'm excited that Bully Ray has found his way back to UWF, as I'm a fan of the character, and now that I know who's playing him I know we're in for a special treat. Wade Barrett will be missed on Raw, but I understand why Lewb would want to give a new character a try. I hope we cross paths at some point so I can say that there are three characters of his I have gotten a win against.

I like the way this promo is structured, and the material in it is great, running down Canada in a classic heel move and explaining the no-showing on Smackdown by revealing he wasn't happy being part of the brand. He states that now that he's on Raw, he's not going anywhere, and tonight he's going to prove why they call him "The Bully".

Speaking of promos, I'm going to tweak the structure of the Dose a little bit. Starting with the July 6th Smackdown, I'm going to begin handing out awards for Promo of the Week and Match of the Week. These awards will be exclusive to the Blue Version because Friday is the end of the UWF week and it makes the most sense to hand them out then. As for Raw, well, in one of the recent Doses, a question was posed. That question was, is there anyone I can't trash talk as?

Well, we're going to test that. Starting with the July 3rd edition of Raw, I am going to trash talk as a character chosen by you, the readers. Suggestions included in your comments on this review please. This will be exclusive to the Red Version, and continue until I find someone I can't efficiently trash talk as. Also, when I posted Ultimate Warrior vs. Eddie Guerrero in an Empty Arena match in a recent Dose, that gave me an idea. In another Red Version exclusive, every week I will feature one of the matches I've written in my career.

So the Red Version will have an exclusive related to matches and an exclusive related to promos, and the Blue Version will have an exclusive related to matches and an exclusive related to promos, everybody wins.

WILLIAM REGAL VS. MATT MORGAN FOR THE HARDCORE CHAMPIONSHIP

This match was a great choice to be the opener, there's excitement surrounding it because of the belt no longer being defunct and the possibility of Morgan winning a championship in his very first match in UWF. That's not to sell Regal short, he's a contributor to the anticipation of this contest as well.

I love the psychology in this contest, one minute you think Morgan's going to dominate by utilizing his raw power, but the very next Regal turns the momentum around and leads you to believe he's going to win with his technical skills. Regal very early on targets a body part and attacks it time and time again all throughout the match, which is part of the technical strategy that leads you to believe he's going to win.

But the pain doesn't hinder the Blueprint as much as Regal was hoping it would, as the big man goes for a chokeslam, but after striking his target again, Regal is able to take Matt back down, regaining control.

When William decides that it's time to get extreme, the momentum shifts again, with Morgan punching a steel chair into his opponent's face, but as Matt goes to decapitate the Blackpool native, his injury is again his downfall as William strikes using the steel chair, bringing the Blueprint down once more.

After this proves insufficient, Regal relies on the Brass Knuckles, but his momentum is stopped dead by a quickly executed chokeslam. Regal kicks out, and Morgan keeps himself in the driver's seat as he connects with the Hellevator(thanks for busting this out), but the pin attempt that follows is also unsuccessful. Finally, a Carbon Footprint, successful this time, does the trick and the match is over.

Your winner and new Hardcore Champion, "The Blueprint" Matt Morgan. Again, the psychology in this immersed me in it effortlessly. For most of the match, Regal was in control, but once Matt got possession of the momentum, it was impossible for his opponent to reverse it, and as a result the big man has won a championship in his very first UWF match. That's an impressive feat, and it was done in entertaining fashion. Congratulations to Doink for being part of this quality match, Cwalker for writing it, and The Red for winning it.

BACKSTAGE PROMO: AUSTIN ARIES

It's official, Austin Aries is back baby, and I'm happy to see it even though he's technically a rival of mine. Over the course of the interview, Aries covers his feelings on returning at Starrcade, his thoughts on William Regal talking trash about him(managing to diss the Hardcore Championship match we just saw), Randy Orton and the NWO, and lastly his guaranteed rematch against Stone Cold.

Aries is clearly a bit agitated regarding the interview, but is still a professional about it. He's very direct with how he answers his questions, and shows diverse levels of passion depending on what the subject matter being covered is. For example, when asked about his return, you can tell coming back meant a lot to him, explaining it as a feeling you forget more and more the longer you're away. That's passion for what he does, but when the topic changes to Orton and his faction, a different kind of passion seeps through.

And that passion is the desire for revenge, Aries is committed to annihilating the New World Order, namely Randy Orton, and won't rest until he does. So committed that he has his championship rematch with Stone Cold on the backburner, the last thing on his mind. So, depending on who's champion when that happens, the future could see a Stone Cold and Aries rematch, Mr. Anderson versus Austin Aries, or a feud that sees Aries move from one NWO member to the next by taking on Christian.

Aries ends the interview by telling Josh he has to get ready for his match against Antonio Cesaro. I like that this promo was a moderate length and still covered so much ground, that's a big reason why I liked it. That and I'm a fan of Chriss' portrayal of Aries. Speaking from personal experience, he's a thrill to work with and one of the best trash talkers in UWF.

KEN ANDERSON VS. RANDY ORTON

The number one contender to the UWF Championship takes on the man that put his hands on the UWF Champion at Backlash and got away with it. Consider that along with the fact that these two men, at least at one point, had real life animosity, and you've got a lot of excitement surrounding this match as well.
Anderson takes control of this match early on, and as I read it, I find myself wondering just how long he will remain in control.

It doesn't last long, as Orton catches Ken in mid-air, taking over the momentum. Orton remains in the driver's seat for a bit longer than Anderson was at the beginning of the match, but after surpassing the time, the ball returns to Ken's court as the number one contender ducks a clothesline and back body drops Randy to the mat.

Ken stays in control of things, managing a few pin attempts, but when he goes for the Mic Check, that's when the control returns to Randy, who cuts off the Mic Check attempt with a few well placed elbows. Anderson tries to reassume dominance, but a powerslam, which Cole attempts to call wrong, makes sure that doesn't happen.

Randy goes for the RKO, but Anderson has the wherewithall to reverse it into the Mic Check, but before he can execute it, Randy reverses into the RKO and is successful this time, and that's all she wrote.

Your winner, Randy Orton. This was another well fought contest, as Anderson was in control of things on three seperate occasions, although the third time was briefly as he reversed the RKO into the Mic Check, and Randy was in control on three occasions as well, though his third time was brief also as it was nothing more than the Mic Check reversal that lead to his victory. The New World Order continues to ravage through the competition, still existing without having been truly opposed.

COMMERCIAL TWO

Raw's second commercial of the night is for the Great American Bash, coming to us three weeks from Sunday. Backlash was amazing and Starrcade was ten times better, so that along with the matches that've already been announced has me completely stoked for this upcoming pay-per-view event. I am super determined to retain my belt too.

IN-RING PROMO: RIC FLAIR AND DOLPH ZIGGLER

Flair points out that no one was expecting to see him tonight, and explains that since he retired, he's been on the look-out for the next top guy in the business, someone worthy of replacing him. But all the wrestlers he saw made him sick, just as the fans do, as Flair goes on to point out.
Ric announces that after years of searching, he finally found a suitable replacement, and that man is Dolph Ziggler. Flair brings Ziggler out, and now it's Dolph's turn to talk. Dolph says he was skeptical to join Flair in UWF at first because of what the fans might think, then decided he didn't care what they thought and took the "Nature Boy" up on his offer.

Ziggler announces he will be on Raw next week and issues an open challenge, saying he will be waiting to see who it is that steps up and accepts. This was a good way to introduce the tandem of Ric Flair and Dolph Ziggler. The explanation for Ric taking Dolph under his wing was good, and Ziggler's reason for accepting the offer is a classic heel reason, but it'll do.

I know who accepts the challenge, as does everyone that's seen the card for the July third edition of Raw, but I won't talk about it until I get to that part of the article. Again, this was a nice promo, and it's nice to see something like this suggested pair materialize in e-feds, it's certainly a welcome addition to Tuesday nights.

THE ROCK VS. WADE BARRETT

I'm going to be brief with my thoughts on this contest because of my desperation to get this edition of the Dose finished and out to you guys. As I made note of earlier, Lewb has switched characters, meaning this stellar contest is the last you'll see of Wade Barrett. Well, his Wade Barrett anyway, I'm sure the character will get picked up again at some point. And honestly, though doing so in defeat, this match isn't a bad way to go out if you're Wade Barrett, nor is it a bad way to come in if you're Bully Ray, who is the storyline reason for the UWF departure of the former former UWF Champion.

COMMERCIAL THREE

Raw's third commercial of the night is for WWE's next pay-per-view event, Money in the Bank. This year's event is going to be an interesting one, since several of the stars are entering their first Money in the Bank match, such as Cena on Raw and Tensai on Smackdown. Can't wait to see what happens, although I think the finish for the Raw one can be seen from a mile away.

IN-RING PROMO: MONTEL VONTAVIOUS PORTER

Montel makes an error in this promo at the very beginning by referring to himself as the most valuable player of the CWA, which, as we all know, is not the company we're competing in. This promo introduces someone named Mickey to the fold, which is intriguing as I've never known MVP to be associated on-screen or offscreen in wrestling with a Mickey. It's certainly an interesting turn of events and will be something worth following, whether the payoff is extremely grand or simple.

BACKSTAGE AND IN-RING PROMO: STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN

I appreciate the fact that I'm able to cut lengthy promos and Cwalker puts the whole thing into the show, so not only am I able to let loose on length when I'm feeling the material, he lets me push the envelope. This week, Austin went off on Smackdown and their contributions to Starrcade and got into it with Jerry Lawler, two things I thought I would get in trouble for. The promo wasn't mentioned positively or negatively, so it appears I stayed out of trouble, but my work has gone unnoticed also.

COMMERCIAL FOUR

Raw's fourth commercial of the night is for TNA's next pay-per-view event, Destination X. This is significant because of Austin Aries getting his first shot at the top tier title, Robert Roode's TNA World Heavyweight Championship. There are other matches too, I just haven't read up on the event enough to know them.

AUSTIN ARIES VS. ANTONIO CESARO

Yes, gentlemen, both members of the European Revolution get taken out on the same show, in similar fashion too. The same thing can be said here that was said in regards to The Rock versus Wade Barrett though, it's not a bad way to go out if you're Antonio Cesaro, and the victory is a positive thing for Aries as it gives him momentum for his war against the NWO.

COMMERCIAL FIVE

Raw's fifth commercial of the night is for this very article, The Dresden Dose. Nice picture of Charizard, if you'll notice I used it earlier. Thank you for another plug, even though Raw came early on a Monday and here it is Friday morning and I still haven't finished this thing.

IN-RING PROMO: CODY RHODES, ROBERT ROODE, AND MVP

The war of words between Cody Rhodes and Robert Roode continues, this time with MVP unexpectedly interjecting. I'm not sure if Rhodes versus Roode or MVP versus Roode will have the trigger pulled on it first, but considering Roode and Rhodes haven't gotten physical, I think it's safe to assume it'll be Roode and MVP.

COMMERCIAL SIX

Raw's sixth commercial of the night is Cwalker expressing regret over the length of the UWF Championship match at Starrcade, expressing that he hopes the next two matches make up for it. C, you have nothing to be sorry about and you don't have to "make up" for anything, we should be looking to make up something to you instead, that being dragging our feet on the trash talking, something I myself am also guilty of.

CODY RHODES VS. C.M. PUNK FOR THE UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP

I think it's cool that Dom has mixed things up for his portrayal of Punk, choosing to use "Miseria Cantare" but dressing like a more current version of the Straight Edge superstar. It's always sweet to have a championship match on one of the weekly shows, and this one didn't disappoint. Cody retains his title cleanly, but many would argue that C.M. Punk was that close to winning it.

COMMERCIAL SEVEN

Raw's seventh commercial of the night is for their competition, Smackdown. By the time I get this edition done, it'll be time to start on the review for Smackdown. The things I do for you guys...

STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN VS. CHRISTIAN

I loved this match, even though the outcome means I have to do battle with one of the best to try and keep my championship at the next pay-per-view. I did say I welcome and accept all challengers though, and Aniking is a challenger, so once again I invite you to bring it as you have brought it thus far.

OVERALL THOUGHTS

When Teddy Long came out at the beginning of the show and proclaimed that Raw is a supershow every week, he was telling the truth. I've been saying for awhile now that Raw is like having weekly pay-per-views, due to the time put into it and the quality of the finished product. I paid more attention to the matches than I usually do, because I was just feeling it, and I enjoyed each one just as I did the promos. I am proud to review this show each week and be the brand's top tier champion, regardless of how much longer that may last.

But wait, there's more...

TUESDAY NIGHT RAW JUNE 3RD CARD

WHO'S GOING TO THE BASH? THE ENGLISH TIDE VS. EVAN AND GABRIEL

This week, Sam dropped Antonio Cesaro in favor of returning to an old character of his, Shark Boy. In his first match, Sharky will team up with the man that was unsuccessful in capturing the Hardcore Championship, William Regal to take on the debuting team of Evan Bourne and Justing Gabriel to determine which duo will advance to the Great American Bash to compete for the UWF Tag Team Championships against the team representing Smackdown.

This match intrigues me because, as I've noted, picking Shark Boy up again is a return to form for Sam, and if he's playing him the way he has before, Raw's going to get a lot more interesting because now there are two personalities that act like Stone Cold Steve Austin, the man himself and Sharky. It's also interesting because Shark Boy and William Regal are each played by different people, but Bourne and Gabriel are both played by one person.

He has his work cut out for him, but if The Red can win the Hardcore Championship in his debut match, Pete can singlehandedly win the right to compete for the UWF Tag Team Championships. Right now the trash talk count is 2 to 2.

EDDIE GUERRERO VS. CHRISTOPHER DANIELS

I'm excited about this match, because I enjoy PegasusKidFan's portrayal of Eddie Guerrero and I'm looking forward to seeing how Rated R Superstar plays Christopher Daniels. Both men are debuting, so both have a lot to gain from a victory in this contest, I'm curious to see who wins it. Right now there is no thread.

THE ROCK VS. DOLPH ZIGGLER

This past week on Raw, Dolph Ziggler debuted and issued an open challenge to anyone that felt man enough to step up for a match that would occur this week. The man to step up the plate is none other than The Rock, who has been on a roll since coming in. The Wrestling Addict against Hoov should be a good one, I'm curious to see who ends up having the edge, because the dynamic of Ziggler and Flair has never been touched, so their may be more to draw from there. Right now the trash talk count is 2 to 1, in favor of The Wrestling Addict.

U.S. TITLE CONTENDERSHIP: C.M. PUNK VS. MATT MORGAN

I've already informed you of this, but it bears repeating, I am so glad to have Dom back in the mix. Last week he came close to winning the United States Championship but was unsuccessful, however, as evidenced by real life accomplishment, what Punk can do once he can do twice, and this time it's win the contendership. Morgan on the other hand isn't satisfied with holding just one belt, he wants to be the first superstar in UWF to hold more than one simultaneously.

It would certainly be an impressive feat, especially if he beat Dom to advance to the Great American Bash and do it. Even if Matt lost to Rhodes, it would still be an impressive attempt. Right now the trash talk count is 1 to 0, in favor of Dom.

ROBERT ROODE VS. MR. ANDERSON

Killz and EoR have produced trash talking magic against each other in the past, so I have no doubt that this contest will be anything short of extraordinary. Killz has returned to an old favorite with Mr. Anderson and EoR's trying something new with Roode, a role he's excelling in, so that makes it interesting. Also, it's the number one contender to the UWF Championship taking on the NWA World Heavyweight Champion, which is cool even if the NWA title isn't a sanctioned belt in UWF. So far the trash talk count is 1 to 0, in favor of EoR.

CHRISTIAN AND RANDY ORTON VS. STONE COLD AND AUSTIN ARIES

It's me and Chriss again, baby, except this time we must put our differences aside to face a common enemy. Certainly not a tag team I foresaw myself being in, but I'm not objecting, it'll be fun to work with Chriss again and see what kind of a threat we pose to the New World Order when we work together. So far the trash talk count is 2 to 2.

PROMOS

CODY RHODES

Arguably the voice of the NWO, Cody Rhodes will have something to say again this week, just as he does every week.

MONTEL VONTAVIOUS PORTER

The highest paid superstar on Raw will be allowed to speak his mind.

AUSTIN ARIES

The "Greatest Man That Ever Lived" has been granted the opportunity to verbalize himself. With his mission to destroy the New World Order clear, one can only wonder what he'll have to say to the Viper and his faction of misfits.

RANDY ORTON

The Viper and leader of the NWO will be given the chance to make his voice heard. What will Randy have to say?

STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN

The very vocal Rattlesnake will be given the chance to let loose on the microphone again, and when he does, one can only hope no UWF officials get harmed this time.

Well folks, that's going to do it for this week. Thank you for being so patient with me, it seems with every week the wait gets longer and longer because I keep getting busier and busier, but you guys make it all worth it. I will see you again whenever I get the time to write the next edition of the Blue Version. Until then, the doctor is out!

Re: The Dresden Dose Red Version: June 26th edition!

Almost Famous appreciate the good words, and promise that you will see plenty of them in upcoming weeks.

Also: bring in a cool Tag Team, like the Mexicools, to feud with me :)

Re: The Dresden Dose Red Version: June 26th edition!

Maybe being the only person that read this in full. I am giving my suggestion. And I want to make it difficult for you Dresden. So. I want to see you trash talk as.......... LANCE STORM!

Onto my person side of the dose. Glad you enjoyed my changeover, I'm looking forward to trying and use someone that I have suggested for other people, but I'm gunna try and make Bully Ray a star. Expect a promo from myself for Raw.

Looking forward to new additions in the future, to what already is a stellar part of UWF programming: The Dose!

Re: The Dresden Dose Red Version: June 26th edition!

As always, a brilliant edition of The Dose. Dresden is one of the hardest working men in efeds to do two of these a week and TT with two different guys. Now thats dedication.

I can't wait to see the new add ons to these. I'm really looking forward to the Match/Promo of the week part, even though I think Rey has promo of the week locked up for every week.

Great job bro. Can't wait to read The Blue Version whenever it arrives
