Re: Unpopular Wrestling Opinions Redux

The match was also pretty amazing as well. Great storytelling. Great emotion. Everything was great, great, great.

Yeah, as if the promo wasn't enough, the match ruled. Definitely shot right up to near the top of my list for MOTY. Loved Quack busting out the heelish stuff too, and the finish sequence was great.

Re: Unpopular Wrestling Opinions Redux

But tell me why you hate the streak

Here's part of it:
I think the undefeated streak of Undertaker is an out-dated angle that needs to be put in the back and shot.

This year he'll literally come back just to have his one match at 'Mania just like he did last year and immediately be put over someone. This spot should go to any one of the guys who have worked all year. And if 'Taker has to work the show, let him put over that superstar who deserves the spot more than he does.
Is it because it's been going on for so long and wwe is probably not gonna put a young guy over the undertaker
There's a few different reasons I can't stand the streak from how long it's been dragged on to superstars unfairly having to job to a guy who works once a year but the big clincher is wrestling to me is supposed to be a spectacle. Especially the biggest show of the year. But when you know it's guaranteed that one guy will go over every year, where's the excitement? The intrigue? The magic? It's nowhere to be found.

Well they do, so what's wrong with what he said?

Also, just to chime in on this, I completely agree that the predictability of the streak is its worst enemy.

Jobbing means you lose without getting in any offense

Eat this one.......

Eddie Kingston is the best promo guy in the business today and can talk people into any match he's involved in. His promo setting up his match with Mike Quackenbush at High Noon was better than CM Punk's "shoot" promos earlier in the year.

Anyone who's seen Kingston would agree with you ...

It's losing without any real contest. It doesn't mean that the jobber gets in no offence, he usually gets in some but, very little.

Re: Unpopular Wrestling Opinions Redux

The actual definition is a "planned and voluntary loss". That doesn't state anything about how much offense a guy gets in.

But he still went ahead and lost the match, which was planned, ergo he did the job. And yes, most things in wrestling are planned and voluntary, but that doesn't change the definition you were asking for.
