Apparently the neighbors heard arguing before the gun shots as well...so his story of waking up seeing someone and shooting them 4 times thinking they're a burglar is looking very flimsy. Just another douchebag who shot his girlfriend dead because he couldn't handle losing an argument. Us men never win arguments, fact of life, just get used to it.

:lmao

Shot her, she went down to the floor, he put down the gun and said: "Who's right now, bitch?!"

The question is how do domestic/relationship-related arguments escalate to this level.

I've been in fights with family members just like everybody else and I'm not ashamed to say that I've said things that I probably shouldn't have said, or just been a dick (I wouldn't be shocked if I had threatened to kill somebody in the heat of it) throwing stuff around etc. (i.e when I was younger) And I have heard other people threaten, i.e say things as well, but when and why do people cross the line.

Is it cold-blooded murder, even if it is proved he did it. (Or culpable homicide?) I know it's a weak argument, but technically they cannot equate this with say, Jack the Ripper killing somebody.

I don't think it can be culpable though, given that he did shoot her FOUR times, sounds pretty damn cold to me. Guy probably damn well knew what was gonna happen.

Damn, some valentine's day. This probably deserves it's own thread, but some guy from Tennessee (a wrestler/bodybuilder) beat his wife to death apparently.

The shot four times part pretty much gives this away as bullshit. You just don't unknowingly shoot somebody that many times unless you're 100% sure it isn't anyone you could know. The arguing before hand just confirms it even more. Apparently to add even more to it this isn't the first time they have been heard having domestic issues.

They have also found a blood spattered bat and her skull was crushed.

The whole intruder story is such bullshit and the stupid ex-girlfriend trying to back it all up with HE WAS NEVER VIOLENT TOWARDS ME, EVER, as if that means he would never snap one day and kill anyone.

Beats her with a bat, shoots her multiple times, and it was 'self defence'? Ehhh, no. If the lights were off, he obviously seen enough to know where the person was (let alone would have been able to make out a slender female silhouette). He either beat her in head in with the bat and then shot her, or shot her and then beat her with the bat, which means that entire time, he didn't know who it was? If he shot her and she went down, why beat her skull in unless he wanted the person to die? If he hit her with the bat first, I am sure she would have screamed or made some sort of noise for him to know who it was, and, if she were knocked out from the blow, you're going to tell me he didn't notice who it was, grabbed his gun and shot her while she lay blacked out on the floor?

His story makes 0 fucking sense. I get that it was late at night but I find it hard to believe that he didn't at some point see who it was.

I don't know if the lived together, but, if they did, and she was just coming home from somewhere, I find it hard to believe she didn't walk in and turn on the lights as she took off her shoes and such. If he heard someone walking in the hall, how would he not hear the door open, keys getting set on a table/jangling, high heels, etc.?

If they didn't live together then he had to have invited her over.

EDIT: It was actually a blood splattered cricket.

Hard to imagine how someone could confuse this person with a burglar.

I was thinking the same thing. Sad story. :(

I agree he should've made sure it was an intruder before shooting but let's be honest, if you had no legs, you'd be a little paranoid yourselves. It's such a shame, he was such an inspiration to a lot of people.

I get the paranoid part, and the thought of someone creeping around my apartment in the dark is unsettling, but, there are a lot of things that just don't make sense in this scenario, at least to me. He threw on his blades, grabbed a gun and a cricket bat, shot 4 times, beat her skull in, and still didn't realize it was her until she was dead? Plus, if they lived together....you wouldn't notice the person you live with isn't sleeping next to you, thus, you couldn't come to the conclusion it might be them walking around? If she didn't live there, wouldn't he be expecting her to walk in since he would probably have to invite her over?

Dude was mad, blew her away, beat her skull in, and then pulled out the self defence card to try to get away with it.

Exactly....he should have at least thought that it was fiance/(GF?) when he woke up and noticed that she wasn't near him.

Hit with a bat or shot, regardless of what caused the terminal injury, he would have realized that it was his lover after the first hit/shot.

Pistorius said he got scared that his life is on the line so he pull the gun on the intruder not knowing it was his girlfriend, shot her but he didn't know she actually her all four times so he grabbed a bat and started smashing her over and over again.

Beep! Bullshit. I mean, come on. Even if it'd be an intruder, why beat him with a bat when you already shot him? He didn't get a reaction from "the intruder" so why the hell did he continue the attack with the cricket bat? Makes no sense.

news.com.au said:
The double amputee said in an affidavit read by his lawyer at his bail hearing that he felt vulnerable because he did not have on his prosthetic legs when he pumped bullets into the locked bathroom door. Then, Pistorius said in the sworn statement, he realised that model Reeva Steenkamp was not in his bed.
"It filled me with horror and fear ," he said.

He put on his prosthetic legs, tried to kick down the door, then bashed it in with a cricket bat to find Steenkamp, 29, shot inside. He said he ran downstairs with her, but

"She died in my arms."

Prosecutor Gerrie Nel charged the 26-year-old athlete and Olympian with premeditated murder, alleging he took the time to put on his legs and walk some seven metres from the bed to the bathroom door before opening fire. A conviction of premeditated murder carries a mandatory sentence of life in jail.

The trial has been adjourned for the day and will resume tonight AEDT.

Absolute moron, should get himself a better lawyer as well, one that can come up with a more credible story. So according to his story, his girlfriend was in bed with him then apparently went to the bathroom when he was asleep, he hears this and immediately gets a gun and shoots into the bathroom. You can't even make this up.

If he heard someone inside a locked bathroom why wouldn't he do what everyone else in the world would do and say "Who is there?" Surely that is everyone's first reaction and even if a robber burst out of the bathroom he still would have had his gun to shoot then. Horrible person for doing what he did and he should go to jail for a long time.

There's no way he's getting out of this anyway so it doesn't matter what he comes up with. This just shows he's really a moron. If I'd kill an innocent person I'd feel absolutely horrible about myself for the rest of my life yet the only thing he cares about is getting out of this without being punished.

Ok, that's just a bunch of bullshit right there.

So you're telling me you're willing to live the rest of your life in prison? Of course he doesn't want to be punished! Not saying what he did was right, but he obviously didn't want things to come to this.

That's exactly what I'm saying. If I'd took an innocent life of a person I loved just because I'm a little pussy who gets scared when the wind blows, I wouldn't try to avoid getting punished because I deserve to be punished.

He killed an innocent person and he's not even willing to face the truth like a man and pay for it? Give me a break.
