Bass has never been better than Baby. He wasn't better in high school, middle school, or college. He damn sure would never be a better pro given equal opportunity. He was just superior to Tyrus

I never said Bass was a better player than Baby, but he played better than Baby in the 1st half of last season.

My overall opinion of the trade is that it worked out for both teams. Baby's last year in Boston was a disaster and Bass did much better last season than Baby did in 2010-11. But the same for Orlando, Baby had a better season than Bass had in Orlando.

Yeah it was a win win. Boston needed a fit, Orlando needed talent. If Davis was given the same leash though as starting PF with KG at C they would be better imo than they were because Baby is more talented and with a higher motor while Bass is in the old steady Oak model

Davis started at PF while KG was hurt in the 09 Playoffs, averaged 16/6 on 49% shooting.

He always had the potential but his last year in Boston, he played so selfishly and was god-awful in the second half of the season and playoffs that it was obvious he wasn't coming back.

Glen Davis is a solid player. Will always play well when needed too.

In another news who saw Dion Waiters last night. That dude was on fire from 3. Good for the Cavs to get a big win like that.

Also happy to see the Timberwolves picking up that comeback win over the Nets. Adelman is a weird man. Our final five for the fourth quarter is Barea, Shved, Budinger, Cunningham, and Pekovic. Where is Kirilenko, and Roy? I mean I understand Pek and Barea, but no Roy or AK? Maybe because those five led the comeback Adelman kept the hot hands in, dunno but happy about the win. We need to keep our record around .500 when Love and Rubio come back.

Not a fan at all. Their old ones are so much better. This looks like something my city's basketball team would play in.

You got your wish PSYCH

The Lakers have fired Mike Brown as coach after a 1-4 start, his agent told USA Today.

And so ends the Brown era in L.A. The news comes not long after a report that Brown's job hinged on an upcoming six-game homestand. Clearly, Lakers owner Jerry Buss was not in the mood to wait for a turnaround.

Holy shit I can't believe they pulled the trigger that quickly. Nice of the organization to allow him to implement a new system and then blame him 5 games in when it isn't immediately working. All Mike Brown's fault, right?

Now there is gonna be a transitional period where they have to learn a different system with whatever coach they bring in and wait for that to work. So this reactionary move may or may not be for the better.

Seriously overreacting in tinseltown. It isn't Mike Brown who was missing shots on that team, it wasn't him not being able to doubleback on defense.

Who would replace him? Phil Jackson?

I told you loss 4 was his ass remember Sal!

Let me put it to you like this, he pissed them off with rotations like Mitch stated in the presser. He asked for a SG to spell Kobe, they got it, and he refused to play Meeks despite them using the mini mle on him. Likewise Mike asked for a backup PF and they went after Jamison hard, only for Mike to play him at SF, despite Mike asking in the exit interview for a PF to backup Oau and hill to be a full time C backup as he didn't want Pau playing there anymore, yet he has played Pau at C. The last thing is Mike Brown admitted in the yesterday practices that he had been called in and talked to by Jim about Dwight and Kobe's minutes as he was told to ease Dwight back and pace Kobe, yet Mike went into Utah and still played them all because he needed a win. He really fucked himself when they gave him the personnel and he chose not use it, and then how Kobe/Dwight risking injury because he can't follow the trainers was his ass as the final straw and you could see it with the Kobe death stare and Dwight looking at him and saying really when he out Kobe and Dwight back in the game vs Detroit in the 4th up 24 to secure a W. he was too master of panic.

Now the thing here is the options are

- Phil: Kobe and Pau get going from jump, Fisher is and has been working out in El Segundo, and Ron critiqued Mike as not being as good as Phil this year when Mike asked him to concentrate less in lockdown man defense and more on the team concept by saying Phil wouldn't do that to Worthy, as Phil just let Ron go after a Pierce, Melo, Bron, as a solo mission, called him a mercenary much like he used to do Rodman. Plus C is the easiest triangle set to learn so Dwight could do that in a snap. Biggest struggle is Nash and Blake more so than anyone else, as even Meeks and Jamsion benefit from the triangle sets

- Pringles: He and Nash are hand and glove, plus he's coached Kobe and Dwight for the Olympics O with Coach K. He could use Meeks shooting, and Duhon did have career stats under him in NY. Dwight is also the best pnr big in the league based on stats for the past 3 seasons. And Pau could be used. Probably easiest mini Showtime experiment that can be achieved

- Sloan: hybrid Phil and Dantoni. He would maximize Nash and pick and roll, but he is an old school guy who calls you on your shit like Phil and believes in man D like Phil with a motion offense. He would likely kill Pau, but I could see Kobe, Ron, and Dwight thriving just not Blake, Hill, or Jamison

Mike and to go though and it was clear he wasn't made for that job

It is mike Brown who tells Ron concentrate less on man D and more on team. It is mike who refused to play Meeks at SG or Duhon now, despite them having better defensive metrics and offensive skills than Ebanks or Morris in the backcourt. It is Mike who decided to play Jamison at SF when he hasn't been one since 2001. N it was him who moved Ron to the backup SG and primary option for the bench before the Utah game and encouraged him to isos and make things happen.

He really screwed up his rotations, minutes management, and the bench as a whole by playing guys out position. Got to take into account he got into it with Fisher, Barnes, Goudelock, Metta, Bynum, Pau, Ebanks, McRoberts all going to the press to complain about him just last year (which they shrugged off as being more about transitioning from Phil)
