Re: CM Punk's next feud *RAW SPOILERS*

It's being alluded to but another point isn't just the size of Brock or what he's done before that the older and less casual fans know about (aka his UFC career). It also isn't about who Punk has beaten or the challenges he's faced.

Big Show, Henry, Kane, Undertaker have all been billed as 7 feet tall or a billion pounds but whatever moniker they use it's always clear they're pro wrestlers. They use wrestling holds and wrestling moves that are made more impactful by their size.

Since Brock has come back he has NOT been a technician. His match with Cena at Extreme Rules? Dude just elbowed and knee'd the fuck out of Cena. Commentary and creative make a POINT of not calling Brock a wrestler. That's why this isn't a David v Goliath, Rey vs Big Show scenario. Rey vs Big Show is a small wrestler vs a big wrestler so the finish is going to be a wrestling move and the winner can say they're the better WRESTLER. Brock vs Punk is a guy who looks like he doesn't give a shit about wrestling or titles and just wants to beat people up and make money vs a wrestler who spends a lot of time preaching pure wrestling. I'm ALL for suspension of disbelief. No-one would take an irish whip in the real world. What I AM for is adherence to character and storytelling. As such, the match should go that Brock whoops Punk's ass up and down that arena and then the finish comes, as I said before, dependent on who you want to go over. Punk still gets a lot and a good babyface rub if he takes a beating but the fact is, he has to take that beating.

Re: CM Punk's next feud *RAW SPOILERS*

Sidenote: What the hell is that on CM Punks face? I dont think in the history of mankind there has ever been any one individual who has had as many different Blue beards as Punk has.

On Topic: Agree with Cork. This isn't just any old 'Goliath' its Brock Lesnar, legit wrestler, built like a brick shithouse, but still insanely quick and agile AND he's not just a former UFC HW Champion, he's tied for most ever successful Title defences as well. Brock v Punk has to be a squash match. And agreed with Killz point to, since Brock has returned he's never been called or pushed a wrestler, he just wrecks people with very little of what we could call 'wrestling moves'.

Re: CM Punk's next feud *RAW SPOILERS*

I find internet people who call Punk and Bryan small and not conceivable as a threat as being hilarious. Punk can beat the shit out 99.9 percent of every single IWC member. Brocks clumsy big guy. ANY day of the week brains beats muscle and its a pretty well known fact that Brock isn't the smartest person on the roster. Without Heyman Brock would have been another generic big guy that was gone within a year.

This feud really intrigues me though because I was looking forward to it for a long time. Punk and Lesnar are both two really big draws, so them going at it is going to be great. Much better pairing off then Lesnar/Trips. That was awkward and felt forced. This feud writes itself.

Brock: Collegiate Champ, UFC Champ, can pull off a Shooting Star Press, hardly seems clumsy. He secured himself half a million dollar contracts for every fight early in his UFC career. Makes more than anyone else on the WWE roster (except Rock) and only has to appear a few times a year, hardly seems dumb.

Re: CM Punk's next feud *RAW SPOILERS*

This thread is getting boring now, why not just stick to talking about the actually feud and how they might build it up from here, and how the match may play out, instead of bitching about if you can believe that Punk could beat Brock.

If Lesnar wants to be involved in a sport where his tough guy persona is protected then maybe Pro Wrestling isn't for him. In the world of WWE CM Punk is one of the best and so is Lesnar, if you book it right people will buy Punk as a threat simple as.

LMAO @ the argument "they don't call Brock a WRESTLER" ... DIPSHITS, WWE HAS BANNED "WRESTLER" "WRESTLE" "WRESTLING" from their broadcaster vocabulary. Punk reportedly takes a fine every time he says the word. Rock even apparently got fined for saying "World Wrestling Entertainment."

So lemme get this straight... we believe Punk can beat Cena (as he has). We believe Cena can beat Lesnar (as he has). Punk stands no chance at all against Lesnar?

Okay.

But we believed most of these guys could beat Batista (go fuck yourself if you suggest Batista wasn't quick).

Hell, by the definition slung around in here, Bobby Lashley should have been undefeated setting records for shortest matches... dude is a more legit freak of an athlete than Brock, even though he can't actually hang in the cage.

I see the match being booked similarly to Taker/Hardy for the Undisputed Title years back. Punk will get his ass kicked over and over, get back up again and again, hit a few hope spots, and ultimately lose. The fans will still feel for Punk because of the resolve he shows. Have Lesnar go to shake his hand and help him up after only to F-5 him back down instead for that extra heel heat before disappearing again. That makes the most logical sense to me.

Punk has never in his life beat Cena clean one two three in a regular match, never. Cena, mr clean cut, no short cuts, took a fucking chain to Brock's head to just barely out him down for three. Triple H another guy a punk has never beat in his life clean in a regular match, used steps, a hammer, and a low blow to beat Brock barely after getting his ass kicked. Punk had a good mania match with Taker where the angle was set up to where taker couldn't flip his lid and get disqualified for beating his ass too match or else he loses the streak, but the only other time they worked together saw Teddy screw Taker and Taker squash his ass out right in HIAC. He couldnt be Rock clean, hell he got his his ass whooped after interference from 4 people by an injured and tired Rock. Hell punk can't believably beat Rey 3 on 1 based on booking, and you think its just suspending simple disbelief for him to go toe to toe with Brock based on his legitimacy and past booking?

Lets not mix facts. Punks credibility is shit because he barely even beats midcard jobbers like Kofi clean or solo. He then again gets his strikes shrugged off by lightweights like Kofi. There's a jump for Punk to conceivably go over Cena clean as a face, let alone beat a guy of his ilk in a no DQ atmosphere, and even larger leap to believe he could ever fuck with Brock.

And LMFAO at the GTS being out of nowhere. The move isn't the equivalent of SCM at all. Its a wrestling hold that Brock should break half the time, and that punk himself struggles to hit half the time when its big guys he has to get up. This match should be a straight CM Punk is Shane O Mac, stick and run approach.

And the Batista analogy falls short because everyone saw him develop overtime from the deacon who knew little about wrestling and was actually clumsy, big, and dumb on his feet to the guy Evolution nurtured and educated to the point he destroyed them. And Batista was a built powerhouse who could beat anyone clean and had to be screwed to lose, they are the opposite ends of the spectrum, him and Punk. Hell you can name the few smalls who have actually stood up to Dave, Rey is it, and he and Rey were freaking tag champs so he knew his every strength and weakness

What was so unclean about Punk beating Cena at MITB? Because Cena jumped out of the ring to deck Ace? Ace/Vince distracted Punk before they came running down to the ring.

To be fair Ric Flair is one of the most over guys in history and during his peak years he won a lot of matches even against top names in shady fashion didn't seem to do him too much halm.

I want realism as much as anyone, but to me a lot of fans buy Punk as a very good wrestler (which he is) who could out smart Brock so if you book it with that in mind don't really see the problem.

Also, why is it so unconceivable that someone would come out and attack Brock in this match? Sure Punk hasn't been making any friends lately, but with Team Hell No seemingly over, Kane may want him a piece of Brock, or perhaps The Shield starts a losing streak, and earlier that night drops all the titles, and in an attempt to show how truly united they remain, they come out and destroy an "asskicker". Whats stopping Triple H?

I just simply don't believe this fight will be as one sided as some make it out to be. We have seen these types of matches hundreds of times, usually involving Big Show, who Heyman himself compares to Brock, and more often than not involving an opponent that is smaller, and whose strikes are often considered to be weaker than Punk like Mysterio, or Spike. It is going to be a great match, considering both men involved. Punk has tools that can keep him in the fight, and Lesnar is going to get in a brutal offense, its not going to be pretty, but its going to be a match that gets remembered one way or the other.

Well it does relate to the feud, how the matches are booked/how believable it is, etc.

Punk has rarely if ever beat another Main Eventer clean outside of a Jericho or Bryan who both flirt with being flat out midcarders at times losing to jabroni's

Whatever happens, there needs to be a moment where Heyman turns on Punk, Punks about to destroy him and Heyman shits himself and pulls this face

Why would anyone want a piece of Brock Lesnar, who is meant to be the most intimidating guy on the roster.

Daniel fucking Bryan running down for a shot at him kinda ruins the illusion, no?

Brock's already lost too many matches IMO, so cruiserweights coming out unfazed to take him on just makes him look like a total wimp.

1. Because it makes them look like an even bigger badass for gunning after Lesnar.

2. Where the fuck did Bryan come from? Sure the fuck wasn't my post.

3. I said an entire stable comes out and beats the shit out of him, not just 1 fucking cruiserweight.

Your arguments are sadder than a fuckless fuck on free fuck day.
