Bret Hart is my favorite wrestler, but I'm not going to say he was doing Hogan numbers, he helped me the company afloat during its darker days but he wasn't a draw that hogan was. Lot of elitist thinking here posing as people who are coming under attack by the likes of us who disagree with the majority of views here. Nobody but them bring up other names, they are the ones who makes these threads into vanilla midgets bitchfests. Suspension of disbelief goes so far, this is my point. Punk looks like a food vendor who spits in the food, he looks out of place facing of against Brock Lesnar. Does this mean they shouldn't wrestle? No. It just means don't insult our intelligence by making the monster sell kicks and elbows from a guy that looks like he could get eaten by that monster.

And lol Tapout thinkin he knows what real life is.

Ok but that is kind of what I was saying, and who suggested he drew Hogan like numbers? Certainly no one on here. He was on top in a very bad time for wrestling, it would have been interesting to have seen what would have happened in a different era.

Nobody said anything about him doing Hogan numbers I was stating matter of factly, which wasn't even my point so you are nitpicking at nothing. My point was about suspension of disbelief, which Cm Punk loses when he is against Lesnar

Following that reasoning, he should have lost to Brodus Clay too. Kane should have wiped out the Shield by himself, and ADR should have jobbed to Swagger like it was a Sting/Hardy match.

In the WWE's world, skill sometimes beats out power.

Brocks pretty skilled himself though, and its not just his size. Its Brocks size + skill + athletic ability + success in a legit combat sport. He's not just another dumb meathead like Snitsky or Mason Ryan or countless others.

I get it a bit, it's just that it's wrestling. If you can suspend belief enough to accept that people can hit each other in the head with sledgehammers without occasionally caving someones skull in and going to jail for murder then surely Punk giving Lesnar a good fight isn't that far of a stretch. He comes across as quite good at kicking people. If you really want to nit pickingly legitimize it you could argue that Lesnar lost to Cain Velasquez in UFC who isn't a great deal bigger than Punk, and is no tougher/more skilled than Punk is portrayed to be in WWE land. Valesquez doesn't even know muay thai FFS, he's useless. I'm purely playing devils advocate btw, I totally think Brock should win, mainly because he's already lost too many times for an unstoppable monster beast who's meant to destroy everything and everyone in his path.

Jesus, that isn't even close to the logic of what I am saying, if you are just going to derail my points by throwing nonsense like that out there because you can't come up with a better counterpoint without taking this shit off topic, why even? What was my point? It was Brock Lesnar would look silly selling the kicks of CM Punk, does this have anything to do with anyone else? No it doesn't. Did I say they shouldn't go with this feud? no, alot of people said it should be booked with a sense of realism, Cena/Brock was booked realistic, Brocks first match since 04, he beats the fuck out of Cena, stumbles at the finish line and the guy whose been the man since he left got a quick one on him.

It's not trolling when you are on topic.

But Punk's SO FUCKING SMALL! That'd be like suspending disbelief long enough to believe Rey Mysterio can beat anyone over 200 pounds and that's near blasphemy.

Turning to sarcasm only furthers your argument.

One would think a smod would actually add something to a conversation.

And who is the guy saying Velasquez doesn't know Muay Thai? He knows as much as CM Punk does. AKA ffs!!!

I'm just a mod, but whatevs.

And I'm being sarcastic and making fun of this whole argument because it's utterly ridiculous that people can't "suspend disbelief" for CM Punk beating Brock Lesnar, if that even happens. He was WWE Champion for over a year, has beaten Cena multiple times (who beat Lesnar), Mark Henry, Big Show, and Kane, but oh he wouldn't put up a fight against Brock Lesnar. I"m not even a big fan of Punk, I don't mind the guy, but I find his annoying fanboys way worse than haters at this point because the guy doesn't shit gold, but the hate for him in this thread is as Blue as it gets, none of you think it's completely unbelievable that Punk could hurt Brock Lesnar, especially not in the world of professional wrestling, you just started this Punk hate gimmick years ago and have to keep it up someway.

Oh please., don't lump me into some gimmick, I never found that guy worth the paper his contract was signed on. Maybe I was sucked into the worked shoot at first, but what did he do after that? Jack shit, a DVD about him bitching about his spot and actling like he is too good to pay dues didn't do him any favors as well, he is overrated and overexposed as a top guy without a shred of legitimacy. Just because you wear a Gracie Jiujitsu shirt doesn't make you this 8th degree blackbelt, it is his version of the Tapout shirt.

Pro-wrestling is still this shit that is supposed to look real, Rey Mysterio beats big guys how? Speed and lucha shit, kind of hard to do the same with CM Punk, whose moveset consists if close elbows and knees, this former UFC champion will eat him if he got close. We know that, casuals know that. There is a major difference between a legitimate threat like Lesnar and a Kane/Brodus Clay/Ryback.....A fucking UFC title. Why did Cena/Trips beat him? hmmm...Faces of the company, CM Punk isn't.

You've said you liked the feud and that they should go with it, so I wasn't lumping you into any gimmick. It just annoys the hell out of me when people's hate of Punk ruin a feud that writes itself and would be damn good like this one because they can't "suspend disbelief" but this is WWE where Hornswoggle can get wins and win a title from guys twice his size (cruiserweights, but still twice 'Swoggle's size), it should be that hard to watch and enjoy a match between Punk and Lesnar.

If you can't suspend your disbelief then you should NOT be watching wrestling. I seriously can't even see how you can be a wrestling fan. If you want your precious realism, go watch UFC and leave us alone. I would rather watch something thats interesting with a story, and characters, then two random guys fighting because they get paid for it. Half of all UFC fights just turn into hug fests anyways, and are boring as fuck.

Don't really think the shots at UFC are necessary to this subject.

What a stupid statement, you raise the bar of idiocy around any forum like this. I was going to tell how realism is the main thing in what makes for a great worker, or belief in a match is what tells a great story, but obviously., you won't grasp that and just repeat things your friends who hate WWE will say, without little thoughts of your own, because you telling me, a guy who expects workers to not look phony to leave for a different sport is just plain Blue.

Why don't you tell the guys who don't like b-grade movies to stop watching movies.

idiot.
