Cork and the like have no idea how life really works. They think because someone is bigger that INSTANTLY makes them better than anyone else. As said earlier, Lashley should have been the most dominate person in the WWE. What about Nathan Jones? Anyone remember him? Hell, Khali should be a 10 time Champion by now because "realistically" no one can beat him cause he's bigger. That is the most flawed and ignorant way of thinking. Who did actually become big and stay? Punk, Orton, Bryan, Mysterio, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, and the like. Its not about size, its about fucking talent. Usually big guys don't have a lot of wrestling ability. Its the smaller, technically sound guys that make wrestling. Take them out and leave yourself nothing but a handful of muscle heads and your product will tank. It is completely believable that Punk can use his brains to beat Lesnar. Jericho took down Goldberg in real life. All you have to do is be smarter, and use better strategy and you can win. If booked to show Punk using mind skills to take down Lesnar, its completely believable.

Its not just Brocks size, its who/what he is. A super athlete ex UFC Champion. He's not just another green, awkward, slow big man. He's Kurt Angle with a gods physique, and faster than Kurt Angle. He's pushed as a destroyer, it takes shenanigans to beat him. Punk can barely beat jobbers.

Wrong, if that was the case Rey wouldn't have fans, HBK wouldn't have fans, Punk, etc wouldn't have fans. If that is what you watch wrestling for that is fine but don't try speak for everyone whether it be a casual fan hardcore fan whoever. Bret, Michaels, Punk, Bryan all bombed as main guys.

Bret and HBK made WCW the #1 company lol. Punk got the lowest Raw ratings since '97 when he was champ. Bryan lost nearly quarter million viewers each week as champ. Few smarks on a forum are irrelevant in the grand scheme of things, nobody tunes in for any of them.

Still can't believe this is being debated. Punk doesn't have the look or charisma to be a poster boy, sure he acts a bit of a dick which makes him seem edgy and kewl but thats clearly not enough. Lesnar sells, is a proven draw and people believe he is a badass.

Yeah I totally get you and I've gotten on people for being wrestling elitist acting like if isn't a indy guy he can't wrestle so for me it goes both ways. Also the Crusierweight division was very over in WCW as was the X Division in TNA once upon a time.

And to be fair Cork I don't think anyone is saying that the likes of Hart and HBK didn't bomb as champions (i guess that is debatable) but they were still very popluar wrestlers and still are to this day, can't say the same about the likes of Jones and Lashley.

There are good big wrestlers and bad big wrestlers, same with the smaller guys simple as that, it has nothing to do with their size.

Bret Hart is my favorite wrestler, but I'm not going to say he was doing Hogan numbers, he helped me the company afloat during its darker days but he wasn't a draw that hogan was. Lot of elitist thinking here posing as people who are coming under attack by the likes of us who disagree with the majority of views here. Nobody but them bring up other names, they are the ones who makes these threads into vanilla midgets bitchfests. Suspension of disbelief goes so far, this is my point. Punk looks like a food vendor who spits in the food, he looks out of place facing of against Brock Lesnar. Does this mean they shouldn't wrestle? By the logic of dirty wins equaling not being good, Triple H is one of the worst ever: his reign during the McMahon-Helmsley era and the Evolution era, both consisted of damn near EVERY victory being with help in some form or another. Ric Flair is one of the worst ever: he's the dirtiest player in the game for a reason. Macho Man; Eddie Guerrero; the Great Muta (all those years of the poison mist); Edge must be trash; The Rock won dirty for so many years of his career it's asinine to think he's any good at all; Stone Cold wrestled dirty; Hulk Hogan's entire run in the nWo consisted of dirty wins, surely that outweighs all of the clean wins he ever had before... Each of these guys are storied champions.
