Re: CM Punk's next feud *RAW SPOILERS*
It's being alluded to but another point isn't just the size of Brock or what he's done before that the older and less casual fans know about (aka his UFC career). It also isn't about who Punk has beaten or the challenges he's faced.
Big Show, Henry, Kane, Undertaker have all been billed as 7 feet tall or a billion pounds but whatever moniker they use it's always clear they're pro wrestlers. They use wrestling holds and wrestling moves that are made more impactful by their size.
Since Brock has come back he has NOT been a technician. His match with Cena at Extreme Rules? Dude just elbowed and knee'd the fuck out of Cena. Commentary and creative make a POINT of not calling Brock a wrestler. That's why this isn't a David v Goliath, Rey vs Big Show scenario. Rey vs Big Show is a small wrestler vs a big wrestler so the finish is going to be a wrestling move and the winner can say they're the better WRESTLER. Brock vs Punk is a guy who looks like he doesn't give a shit about wrestling or titles and just wants to beat people up and make money vs a wrestler who spends a lot of time preaching pure wrestling. I'm ALL for suspension of disbelief. No-one would take an irish whip in the real world. What I AM for is adherence to character and storytelling. As such, the match should go that Brock whoops Punk's ass up and down that arena and then the finish comes, as I said before, dependent on who you want to go over. Punk still gets a lot and a good babyface rub if he takes a beating but the fact is, he has to take that beating.
