when did the section get a discord? Never knew we had one

Since the folks from WrestlingClique came over as it was the WC BTB Discord previously but now is just a general BTB Discord.

This link should work for a month.

Would you mind sending me a link.

Also, you can make an invite link permanent I believe

It's not set up as a "Community Discord" so the most it can be is 30 days.

So some advice for those who color-code their shows.

Some use the dark theme on WS and others use the light. What do you do for shows that have colors difficult to see? For example, NXT's yellow makes it difficult to read on the light theme.

Generally wiser to use a more neutral tone, for example, a darker shade of Gold works best for both light and dark if you're using NXT colors.

See this, for example.

For vice versa, a more intense color can also be difficult to read as well. You never wanna use a dark grayish color since people on Dark won't be able to see it, but a regular Grey would be better for both.

I'd suggest avoiding colors like bright pink, lemony, or neon colors since they'll be hard to see in White, while on Dark, avoid heavy, Somber, or deep colors.

Neutrality is your best fit anywhere. And if you're not sure, put your text into a document and put a black/white background on it.

This is why I don’t color code my shows, because I just rather not try to find colors that look good on all skins.

Has anyone ever done a BTB in “real time”? I had a project over at WC called “Wrestling Grand Prix” and thinking of reimagining that concept. It’ll be set next year a month behind the actual date to kinda play with some real world happenings to make some things interesting. Just an idea.

I have done BTBs in real time, but they're very hard to pull off for me personally, only because I'll see TV doing it better and I'll want to copy or get discouraged. Or, there's storylines I don't want to touch and have to play them out for "realism"

The only time I pulled it off for a significant amount of time was with my current WWE booker with a twist. I had the twist of Rollins not tearing his ACL and dropping the WWE title, and I still have that BTB to this day and 3 years written on the BTB.

But I'm all here for what you cook up!

My BTB initially started that way. About 10 days after WrestleMania 35.

I guess it depends on what you consider 'real time.' But the best advice I can give to you if you're going to do that is absolutely do not get easily discouraged, and absolutely do have a bunch of plans figured out.

My Four Horsewomen arc did not, and The Rock means did not stay the same the entire way. Constant changes. But the vision didn't change. Same thing with a few other things. You just have to have your vision locked in if you're going to play the real-time game.

Would love to get back into my project. Sadly, I'm busy with course work, regular work, and my new living arrangements. Maybe I can as I want to get the juices flowing and have found a good system to my match writeups

Just wanted to wish the community a Happy New Year. I'm a little late and have been absentee here for quite a while, but I still love you guys and all the great work you are putting out.
Happy New Year to you too, Rhyno! :D Always great to see you around, my friend. ...and I can only agree with you. The BTB section is such a treat to browse and read.

Howdy hey, this topic doesn't seem particularly busy so hopefully this isn't a bump but it's the only place I felt I could say:

Damn, you know you're into a project when you spend two hours watching matches of other people in other promotions to make sure what you write doesn't go against the established history of the time. All to potentially set up a feud some six months down the line.
