If I was court, this is probably what I would’ve did I would’ve said let me think about that. I’ll get back to you because I would definitely be mad. I’m not even gonna lie so I want to make sure that we spoke after I thought about it for a little bit and then I call him back and I’d be like oh this is what we’re gonna do Drop the belt I believe in July so what I would tell him is you’re gonna take the August TV tapings off. Let me figure out what my booking plans are and see if we can accommodate you or if I need you to stay. Then I would say all right we’re gonna bring you back to TV in September for the fury Road pay-per-view And we’ll see how it goes and then I will tell him look I just had you drop the belt can I use you for at least another four or five months and then when we get to battle riot which is one of their big events I think in April or May we can revisit.
all of that seems reasonable to me - and it's also ok for Court to be mad initially, no one wants to hear their big star wants to move on, that shit sucks. But yeah you gotta take it on the chin and then come to a solution. I think the battle riot idea is good - give the guy a new deadline and see if he feels the same after that. if he still wants to go, negotiate a buyout

I think court might be breaking a little bit just from the fact that he had a TV deal in January which disappeared after 10 weeks and then he finally got a deal with fite so could air live monthly paper views, which they’ve never done before they’ve always taped super cards and the lm cut them for the TV but now for the first time they have actual TV and pay per view, but like 60% of their roster from the beginning of 2022 is gone now. Apparently there was some kind of big blowup with AAA where they lost all the Luchadors they had their Samoans left hammer now wants to leave I couldn’t even imagine like the shit Court has to deal on regular basis but I’m sure he’s a dick too like you guys were talking about, but Jesus imagine trying to run a company with all the hurdles that motherfucker has to go through lol.

Fuck maybe he can work something out with AEW that’s even more valuable than that. Maybe some kind of MLW exposure on Rampage or something. Tony always seems up for copromoting so maybe an exchange we’re getting a great talent like Hammerstone he can let MLW talent appear every once in a blue moon on rampage.

all depends if this stuff is self inflicted, but theyve certainly had a rough go as a company for sure

yeah I think TK would rather work with ppl than compete - he certainly has been helping Revolver a lot giving them 3 talent that can work with Ronda, and Mox to boot

Some of it could be, but we all know that Konnan isn’t exactly reputable either lol

But having CMLL AND NJPW is a step up. Which should make working with AEW easier.

What shocks me is MLW and Impact never did a working relationship. If they had a regular revolving door. Like shared rosters type of thing they’d be able to compete more and they both have similar ring setups and productions. They also have more similarities in their stories than probably them to AEW or GCW or whomever else.

Even with everything we get to see about what happens behind the curtain, you never know if those two offices are on good terms, if any. Of course, MLWxImpact would've made sense in a lot of eyes, but it could also easily be a disaster because of severe clashing in the backstage work etc.

I mean could be, but I don’t even mean a co-promoted show necessarily. Just the ability to book each other’s talents.

Imagine MLW with Alexander, Shelley and Gresham and TNA with Alex Kane and the Calling etc.

Yea, but that starts with the offices being on good terms and being able to work and talk together still... at least in my mind. Maybe I'm thinking wrong. :hmm:

could be as simple as Impact didn't trust MLW to use their talent proper or vice versa - could also just be the long ass taping stuff

I think Impact is also in a mindset where they don't want bullshit - they gave Sammy G the boot real quick when he apparently acted like a diva

I think MLW does a live pay-per-view on FITE now and then they do a TV taping and I think that’s the only thing they do for the month. Which I believe is what impact used to do though Impact now also has extra specials and stuff they do in tours.

But yeah, you definitely have to be able to trust the talent to do business. And the promoter not to fuck up with a talent being used from the other guy. Maybe some kind of communication and greed to how they’re going to be used there.

Interested to see how TNA does though. I’m looking forward to them coming back.

With Melo and Bron probably getting called up soon NXT could use another legit ME caliber star…Hanmerstone in NXT sounds fabulous
