read my post again , I literally say the have the right to say no. What is not ok is ghosting talent and refusing to book them because they asked for a release. That's not professional, that becomes personal. As does going to the sheets to say the refused his request while telling him the opposite. He does also say there's a possibility its a miscommunication. Contracts are not toilet paper but they also aren't meant to be prison sentences, either. there is a middle ground for doing business the right way. If I didn't want to grant someone a release I wouldn't treat them poorly, either, I would show them on what they are missing out on. especially when its your cash cow
I’m not gonna comment on the second part because you can’t take a disgruntled talent at face value. It might be true, it might not be true.
MLW could have been contiplating his release. You wouldn’t keep booking a talent if you were originally going to release them and perhaps something else happened in the meantime. The Samoan Swat Team were taken off TV ages ago and finally got their release. Court probably likes to wait like WWE does before letting them go. It’s hard to say.
My main point is he should have rode out his deal since the man got a monster push with them. The least he could do is ride out 2024 and be the feee agent story of 2025 instead of whatever this is.
And again I’ll disagree on the prison sentence comparison. You voluntarily agreed to the terms. It’s not a prison sentence. It’s an arrangement that if I book you a certain way or pay you a certain amount I don’t have to worry about you leaving me early. If an early release can be worked, that’s great, but I don’t agree that’s part of standard procedure.
We don’t know the whole story, but if Court is not properly communicating with Hammer, that’s entirely on him. Like I said both are not being professional, in my personal opinion. At this point Court probably should just release him unless him and Hammer can agree to better terms for him to stay. Use him or let him go. I agree on that much.
