it's more about intake. If you ate 1lb of carrots, an orange, and avoided soda/unneeded sugars daily, that right there can cut your calories in half.Calories don't really matter actually. They do at an extent, but you shouldn't really buy into that crap.
My sister trained for a half marathon, and when i stopped (slowed down A LOT) my drinking habits, she said i couldn't lose weight putting in under 2k calories daily. I put in around 1200 and lost 35lbs. I'm doing it now for her wedding and i'm going for around the same, and i'm down 7lbs in 9 days. Obviously those are the easy lbs, but now i have 27 days to lose the other 8.
It's all about unncessary stuff vs what is good for you. There are a ton of things to find (veggie chips, that popcorn i mentioned, etc) that you can snack on and not have to worry about, as opposed to going out for dinner and getting a deep fried snickers bar and 1 corndog (so delicious)
