Lol, I know, but you know how much Vince loves him. Taker will either keep the streak, or Cena will beat him to cement him as the greatest of all time according to WWE.

WWE would never have Punk beat the streak. They don't even respect him enough to let him headline events for the majority of his title reign. I hate to say it, but if anyone breaks the streak, it'll be Cena. That's probably why they've intentionally put off Cena/Taker to the last possible minute, until Taker is ready to retire.

:hmm: Pictured Cena ending the streak. Would be even worse if it was via submission. It'd only be acceptable if the 70000+ people in the crowd actually started a riot.

Some argue that it would be a sure fire way to turn Cena heel, as even his own loyal fans might be expected to turn on him if he ended the legendary streak. In my opinion, even if someone had a crystal ball and could show that that was true, it still wouldn't be worth it. The only person I want to see break the streak is someone who is the next big star (or big heel, but I'm leaning towards the former) of the company, but there's no one who fits that bill at the moment.

Exactly. Cena doesn't need it, that's what WWE needs to learn. He's their one true Main Eventer. He's the one guy who doesn't need a damn rub from Undertaker. If he went out putting a young guy over it'd be perfect.

I agree with what you're saying but we all know how WWE booking works. Taker has been their backstage general. They don't want him to lose to a guy like Lesnar for example. Meaning a young guy on his way up who may or may not be in it for the long run. Guys like Lesnar and the Rock left at their peak and left Vince holding the bag. Cena is a guy Vince knows is all about WWE and doesnt want to leave. He is the new Taker, so to speak. Thus, he will be the only one who they'd let beat the streak, as a proverbial passing of the torch to the new leader.

Passing the torch means very little when Cena's been carrying it for the last 7+ years anyway. That's why him beating it makes no sense - Cena has been a bigger deal to the WWE for the past 7/8 years than Undertaker has, why give him the streak as a way of 'immortalizing' him? I can totally see WWE doing it, but there's other things to consider. As I've always pointed out, three factors have to come together in order for Taker's streak to end - Vince agrees to it, Taker agrees to it, and the guy breaking the streak must agree to it. And if it wasn't for that last one, Taker's streak would be gone already. He offered it to Orton (who was an asshole back then), Kane and Kurt Angle. All of whom refused to break it. If an asshole like Orton has too much respect for at least Taker to agree to breaking the streak, I can't see John Cena (who is known to be a pretty decent guy in real life) agreeing to it either.

I totally agree with your points. The only thing I'm saying is he's the only one who it'll ever be offered to. Whether he agrees to take it or not is a totally different story. Taker won't be around long enough to drop it to the next 'John Cena' so the current Cena is the only choice. However, I see Taker retiring undefeated, because I don't think anyone has the balls to say, "yeah I'll do something HHH, HBK, and others wouldn't". That would be career suicide for anyone.

I'll be pretty annoyed if Cena's the one who ends the streak. Fuck that noise.

I think they're probably gonna try and take the streak to 25-0. A quarter century of dominance and other such cliched tag lines.

That would be really great, hope they don't end it though as I think he should retire undefeated
