Had Quinton "Rampage" Jackson been successful in taking the UFC light heavyweight title from Jon Jones last year, we would likely be set to witness his retirement fight later this month at UFC 144: Edgar vs. Henderson. Instead, Jackson was defeated via submission and is still looking to wear UFC gold at least once more before hanging it up.

"To retire as UFC champion and to have defended the belt in Japan? Oh man, that would have been perfect. Believe me, I still want to retire as champion, I want to hold the belt once more," said Jackson, in a recent interview with Fighters Only Magazine. "I guess if I had won that Jon Jones fight and if the Japan show wasn't next, then there would have been a very good chance I would have retired already. It would have been a great time to bow out."

Jackson, who made a name for himself in MMA while competing in PRIDE, will take on Ryan Bader in Saitama, Japan on February 25 (February 26 in Japan) in the co-main event of the evening. Frankie Edgar and Benson Henderson are the main event, with Edgar's UFC lightweight title up for grabs.

Hes closer to being cut than he is to a title shot.

No chance he wins in the UFC again, let alone beat Jon Jones.

I'm being being unfair on both fighters, but I'm so uninterested in Benderson vs. Edgar.

Edgar especially just doesn't interest me at all.

With Leonard Garcia forced to withdraw from this month's UFC 144 event, Japanese newcomer Issei Tamura (6-2 MMA, 0-0 UFC) will now face Tiequan Zhang (15-2 MMA, 1-1 UFC).

UFC officials on Saturday announced the change.

Featuring a lighteight title fight between current champ Frankie Edgar and former WEC titleholder Ben Henderson UFC 144 takes place Feb. 25 at Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. The event's main card airs live stateside on pay-per-view. The preliminary card is expected to air on FX.

Think this is like the third time this fight has been changed due to injury.

I agree. Don't know why he thinks he will get a title shot again. He had his shot but there are now a few others that are ahead of him in the pecking order.

I always go into Edgar fights thinking that he will be finished and so I am always pumped for them. I think that there will be a title change so I get excited and then he comes out the winner but it is still an awesome fight. I think that Henderson will produce a quality fight with Edgar and there is a decent chance that Henderson will finish him so this fight definitely interests me.

I hate to say it only because i like Rampage, but i too can't see him getting a title shot again the other day when he said he would've retired if he won the title from Jon Jones months ago kind of made me think he's going to retire within the next 6 or so months.

As for Edgar/Henderson I'm still thinking that Bendo takes the fight by decision, kind of feel a Shogun/Hendo kind of fight coming from this match-up.

This show is next weekend, and i can't wait. I've been looking forward to this card since it was first announced back in November. Thankfully no injury has made the main card change at all.

Bendo for Champ :Vader:

I just think stylistically, this is a bad match up for Edgar, I don't think "The Answer" will have an answer for Henderson.

Hard to tell from this video but in other recent videos and random interviews i've seen of Bendo this week he has put on a lot of muscle.

I don't care who wins the main event, I'm just hoping for a good fight.

I also love have 7 fights on the main card. Finally being guaranteed to get my money's worth for a PPV

Agree with you, the card is stacked top to bottom well worth the money it's going to cost me to buy it this weekend.

Also Here's the extended preview for the show this weekend.

And here's a Japanese version of a promo for this show, which was done pretty well actually.
