Heavyweight bout: Mark Hunt vs Cheick Kongo

Welterweight bout: Yoshihiro Akiyama vs Jake Shields

Lightweight bout: Anthony Pettis vs Joe Lauzon

Preliminary card

Featherweight bout: Hatsu Hioki vs Bart Palaszewski

Bantamweight bout: Norifumi Yamamoto vs Vaughan Lee

Middleweight bout: Riki Fukuda vs Steve Cantwell

Bantamweight bout: Takeya Mizugaki vs Chris Cariaso

Featherweight bout: Tiequan Zhang vs Leonard Garcia

Thought I'd bring this thread back to life and get some discussion going about this show seeing as it's about a month away. This show I've been looking forward to since the Edgar/Henderson fight was announced. This card is stacked, top to bottom. I was a huge fan of Henderson when he was in WEC so it's nice to see him main eventing a huge show like this and getting a title shot.

The main card is extremely stacked. I'm hoping Shields makes Akiyama tap.

Just an amazing card, so psyched for it.

Bendo is an amazing athlete, seems invincible against submissions at times, and is very active around the cage, but I will NEVER bet against Edgar after some of the shit hes done the past few years....looks a UD Frankie win for me.

Rampage/Bader is probably the least interesting fight on the card. Jap crowd will be hot for 'Page no doubt but hes shot IMO and Bader will probably destroy him here.

Hunt is no match for Kongo. Hes probably only on the card because of Japan connections and name value. Spectacular KO for Cheick should put him right in the title mix.

Akiyama v Shields is a good match up. Aki is always a good bet for FOTN with his style, but the way hes gassed in all his UFC fights just makes this an inevitable sub win for Shields. Hes got better stamina and ground game, and I dont think he has to worry about YA's standup as its wild and ineffective the most part.

Hope Pettis beats Lauzon for revenge for that cunt beating Guillard :(

The prelims are insane, Gomi vs G-Sot, Kid Yamamoto, Okami and Garcia are all action fighters.

Love it. :D

Bader... the guy that got rocked, dropped, and then tapped by Tito? Rampage is gonna K the F out of Bader.

Rampage, the guy who couldn't knock out Keith glassJawdine?

The guy who has a loss to bum Griffin?

Badet is going to expose Rampage.

Jones already exposed Rampage. But come on... TITO! TITO beat Bader... made him tap early in the fight. At least Griffin took 5 rounds to win.

Shogun was badly injured and the difference in size between Sonnen and Griffin is ridiculous. Not to mention he's a much improved fighter compared to 8yrs ago.

Please re-watch the Rampage vs Hammil fight and tell me that guy isn't shot to bits.

He made a chump like Hammil look like prime Fedor the way he was struggling against him.

My thing is... really... you're just ridiculous. You act as if someone has one bad fight or they don't perform to your expectations then they are shot and are useless.

So he had one bad fight against Hamill out of how many fights? How many? He didn't KO Jardine but did he lose it? No. he won the fight. Goodness.

And Shogun may have been hurt but he still lost. What fighter goes into a fight fully healed? They all go in hurting from how hard they train. But still... you wanna call Forrest a bum. He's not the best, he's not the flashiest, he's not the most technical... but the guy can still fight. And he fights well. He was a former champion in the most stacked division in the UFC. No matter how you wanna slice it... He WAS CHAMP. Can't be a bum and be a former champion of that division.

Rampage has a lot of tread on his body from all the years... but he can still go. Why is it you can't give credit to anybody?

If you ever bothered to read properly I wouldn't be making the same points over and over again.

My opinion hes shot isn't based on one fight, thats just his most recent and obvious example. Its not as if I'm bringing up a loss from PRIDE a decade ago and saying "omg look hes finished as a fighter", these are legit, real examples. He's looked awful in every fight since coming back to the UFC (spare the Machida fight where he gave a half decent effort).

He's a predictable, slow, gunshy figher whos on his last legs. If you can't see that then I don't know what else to tell you. Just wait for his next no-show in the Bader fight, I guess.

I can't give credit if someone plain doesnt deserve it. Fighters like Guillard, Lytle and Daley have tons of losses but they always turn up to fight and get my respect for that. Rampage isnt in that catagory.

He's had over 40 fights... he isn't going to be able to go out there and go GUNS AHOY! like he did a decade ago. BUT he is still able to go out there and perform. He has improved his game in the UFC with better head movement... better movement all around. And it isn't like he gets blown out in every fight.

Its like him winning just isn't enough. So really what does it take? The guy wins fights yet he is shot?

THATS THE POINT THAT IS NOT MAKING SENSE!

Not every fight is going to be won devastatingly, not every fight is going to be dominating, not every fight is going to be won looking top notch. I mean hell look at how Anderson Silva won against Chael... he was dominated for 4 and a half rounds and was able to get the win.

People have bad fights but the end result is... can they win? Rampage can still win. Its not the prettiest, not the best looking, but it is his style and whether he is KOin guys or not... he still wins. Ever since the Griffin loss he has only lost two times... the the top two light heavyweights in Rashad which was his return fight after over a year off and everyone saw he was sluggish and not in top shape but he still went 3 full rounds with Rashad, and he lost to the current champion in Jon Jones... which is a guy that has barely been hit by anybody yet.

The thing is... you're NOT making any points. You're just saying he is shot. I'm saying if a guy is still able to win fights how can he be shot? Jardine... he is shot... he can't win worth shit. Rampage... 4 and 2 since the Griffin fight.

I already explained numerous times why he's shot, so I'm not carrying on this circle jerk.

Wait till this card, wait till after the Bader fight, then lets talk.

You haven't explained shit you dumbass. You just say oh he had a bad fight against Hamill and couldn't knock out Jardine so he is shot. That is not a fuckin reason. he still won both of those fights. Just cause he didn't KO them doesn't mean he is shot. he isn't gun shy... he just hasn't connected enough to knock those guys out.

When Bader goes down... you'll realize you were wrong... fuck off. You haven't said shit as to why but you wanna act all high and mighty about how you know for sure Rampage is shot and is useless and all this... fuck you.
