WELCOME TO THE SHOW~!

Match 1: Chad Collyer/Roderick Strong vs Petey Williams/Tyson Dux
This was a basically-structured match, starting with a lot of momentum from the babyfaces. Roddy eventually got caught up in some double teaming, and while he tried to trade chops with Dux, Petey made a blind tag and caught him from the side with a SICK Polish Hammer! ONE … TWO … THRE – Strong kicked out! The heels kept him worked over, really playing up a dazed Strong from the blow to the side of the head. Strong seemed really out of it, and it only got worse when Petey worked a strong headlock. Collyer pumped up the crowd and Strong to some momentum, and he arm dragged Petey away. Petey charged and Strong exploded with a jumping enzuigiri! He tried to make the tag, but Dux got in first and pulled him away! He stomped down at Strong, and eventually tried his North of the Border Brainbuster, but Strong floated over! HOT TAG TO COLLYER! He came in like a MAN ON FIRE~ and punched at both guys, then started tossing them around with his trademark suplexes. He was completely fresh, so he took it to both guys with lots of intensity. He tried a Gutwrench on Dux, but he floated through and shoved him into a big right hand from Petey. He tried the Border’s Edge, but Collyer floated over and chucked him to the outside. He turned around and Dux tried to wrestle him into the Sharpshooter, but Collyer brought him to the mat and wrestled around him and brought him right up with a GUTWRENCH SUPLEX! ONE … TWO … THRE – Petey dove in to save! Strong rushed into the ring, but he walked right into a HUGE big boot from Williams, and Strong was knocked completely out. Collyer grabbed Petey and tried a belly-to-belly, but Petey elbowed away and shoved him off. He went to attack, but the ref stopped him and forced him to his apron. With the ref’s attention there, Dux kicked Collyer in the nuts and hit his NOTB Brainbuster! ONE … TWO … THREE!
Winners via pinfall: Petey Williams/Tyson Dux (9:35)

Williams and Dux celebrated up the ring, and Collyer and Strong were pissed.

Homicide and Low Ki were backstage warming up, and Homicide spoke crazy Mexican to the camera, and Ki scowled.

Footage played of Jacobs making his way through the #1 Contenders Tournament, beating Waltman last month to earn a title shot. It then switched over to some big Alex Shelley hype,

Before the match, Scott Steiner came out and sent Angelina Love and Rhino to the back!

Match 2: Alex Shelley[c] vs Jimmy Jacobs [X-Division Championships]
I HAVE THREE EXAMS TOMORROW OH GOD I’M GOING TO FAIL. Jacobs look strong and refused to ever tap to the Border City Stretch, but he was pinned after a Shellshock.
Winner via pinfall and still X-Division Champion: Alex Shelley (13:12)

Shelley celebrated with his belt, and commentary said that Jacobs nearly won several times due to having Shelley thoroughly scouted out.

Monty Brown was backstage with Lauren and, YEAH DATS RIGHT I POUNCED DAT MOFO ROBBY ROODE AND I’LL DO IT AGAIN WHEN I POUNCE DIS MATT MORGAY TONIGHT DAT WHITE ASS TALL ASS STUTTER GOOBER DON’T EVEN KNOW WHAT DAT SHIT WANTS TO EAT DAT GODDAMN K-MART FALL APART TURKEY SAMMICH. I’MMA SNAP THAT BITCH LIKE A BITCH, BITCH.

Kevin Nash found Steiner backstage and told him that he had no right sending Love and Rhino to the back. Steiner said that he did, because he’s GM. Nash said that he’s in charge of everything involving the X-Division, and if Steiner wants to take that on, he’d be glad to present his case to Dixie. Steiner told Nash to fuck himself, but said he’d agree to stay away from X-Division matters.

Clips of Homicide and Low Ki killing people played.

Match 3: Ravarian vs Homicide/Low Ki
After a brief flurry of offense from ‘Cide and Ki, Ravarian took over and kept it there with their superior tag teaming. Both guys got isolated for a bit, but as time went on the face comebacks got longer and longer, and they got more and more nearfalls. Low Ki got an awesome head of steam and kicked everybody around, but Kaz caught one of his kicks, and then Rave ran across and leveled him with a big running elbow! They chucked him out and then double-teamed Homicide for a bit. Ki finally got up on the outside and was pissed, and he tried to climb into the ring, but Kaz cut him off. With the ref’s attention there, Rave kicked Homicide in the nuts! He tried his All the Rave, BUT KI BROKE THROUGH KAZ AND RAGED HARD ON RAVE! Killing people and murder happened, and Homicide joined in as well when he got up. Kaz got the shit smacked out of him with a sick Low Ki backhand, and then Homicide took Rave out with the West Brooklyn Lariat! He yanked Kaz up and chucked him into a Superkick from Low Ki! They pulled him up and hit the ABSURDLY DANGEROUS GRINGO KILLER/GHETTO STOMP COMBO TO WIN!
Winners via pinfall: Homicide/Low Ki (14:38)

‘Cide and Ki celebrated in the ring, and Taz said that this gives Joe a huge amount of momentum going into his match with Chris Daniels later tonight.

Backstage, a LIMO~ arrived, and Robert Roode, Christian Cage, Eric Young, and Bryan Danielson stepped out.

Match 4: Monty Brown[c] vs Matt Morgan [TNA Television Championship]
Lots of clubbering and stuff. Monty tried his Leaping Shoulderblock at one point, but Morgan ducked and Monty nailed the turnbuckle. Morgan took over by working over the arm some, but Brown eventually mounted his comeback with KICKS! He got Morgan down after a running boot and then stomped the snot out of him. He got pumped up, but Abyss walked down to ringside. Monty got distracted by him for a bit, and it let Morgan hit his big dropkick and take over. He tried to keep Monty contained, and when he connected with a sidewalk slam, he went up top. BLUEPRINT CROSSBO – No! Monty ducked! Morgan hit the mat, and as he got up, Monty signaled for the end! He ran off the ropes, but Abyss grabbed his leg! He turned around and shouted at Abyss, AND THEN TURNED AROUND INTO THE CARBON FOOTPRINT! ONE … TWO … THREE!
Winner via pinfall and NEW TNA Television Champion: Matt Morgan (7:06)

Abyss pulled Matt Morgan out of the ring, and Monty got up PISSED.

Chris Daniels was in the back, and Ravarian walked up, all beat up. They started to speak up, but Daniels just held his hand up to silence them, and he walked off.

In the back, Christian and Roode were talking, and Christian said that they would both have both Young and Danielson in their corners tonight. Roode said that he didn’t want Danielson in his corner, so he’d take Young, and Christian could have that dirty … American. Cage seemed frustrated, but went along with it.

A video played hyping up the tag team title match. Tenay reiterated that if Lethal and Booker lose their straps, Booker T will retire from active competition to take over GM duties.

Match 5: Jay Lethal/Booker T[c] vs Bailout [TNA Tag Team Championships]
Nope. Too tired, too late. This was mostly Lethal offense on the champion side, and commentary put over how he’s really stepped up lately. Bailout got crazy close tons of times, including nearfalls after an undetected Clothesline From Hell via JBL run-in; a tag title shot to the Lethal’s skull that he barely kicked out of; and a Bankruptcy DDT to Booker T that Lethal broke up. Booker T’s leg got a good working on, and a low blow -> figure four from Burke had Booker about to tap, and commentary put over that if he taps, he’ll have to retire. He nearly passed out from the pain, but shot back up and kept a big struggle. Lethal rushed the ring to break it up, but Davey charged him for a clothesline, but Lethal ducked and hit a SUPERKICK! Burke started bashing Booker’s shin to get a submission faster, but Lethal got there in time and dove to break it up! Burke hit a bare-knuckle punch and tried the Bankrupt Bomb, but Lethal body dropped away and followed up with an enzuigiri! He tried the Lethal Combination, but Burke shoved him into a MAFIA KICK FROM RICHARDS! Davey chucked Lethal out of the ring and followed up with a diving kick off the apron. In the ring, Burke went to put Booker back into the figure four, BUT BOOKER T PULLED HIM INTO A SMALL PACKAGE! ONE … TWO … THREE!
Winners via pinfall and still TNA Tag Team Champions: Jay Lethal/Booker T (18:02)

Burke just got out! But it was too late! He threw a fit in the ring, and then started attacking Booker’s leg, but Lethal came in to make the save! He ran Bailout off, and then helped Booker to his feet. They were exhausted, and commentary said that this was absolutely the champions’ hardest challenge yet, and the closest yet that Booker has come to having to retire.

Young and Danielson were sitting in the back awkwardly, not talking at all but just sitting there. Christian Cage came up and told them to get ready to come out with him for his match with Angle, but that only Young would stay out to stay with Roode for the title match.

A big Joe/Daniels hype video played.

Match 6: Samoa Joe vs Christopher Daniels
These guys are good and had a good match. Daniels continued to use his DASTARDLY~ tactics to outsmart Joe, but Joe was in the killing mood. Still though, Daniels made some good progress by going after the leg. Nobody made run-ins, and it was straight one-on-one. Daniels got a leg sweep on Joe and tried the Last Rites, but Joe shoved him away and caught him coming back with the German/Dragon/X-Plex Combination to win!
Winner via pinfall: Samoa Joe (15:56)

Samoa Joe celebrated in the ring. As he went to the back, Daniels got up and he threw a small temper tantrum at ringside.

Roode was warming up in the back, and he looked a bit nervous.

Lauren had AJ Styles in the back for an interview. The world champion said that defending the title against a TNA guy like Roode was a big step in the right direction for TNA, but he added that, even with a weasel like Christian behind him, Roode was not ready for the pressure of being world champion. Only somebody as phenomenal as AJ Styles is fit to be champ.

HYPE PACKAGE~. It centered around Christian Cage’s turn on Kurt Angle last month at Turning Point.

Match 7: Kurt Angle vs Christian Cage w/ Eric Young & Bryan Danielson
The played this completely as Angle being a lot better as Christian, and Christian even seeming overwhelmed at points. Angle bitched him on the mat and then get really aggressive and started throwing strikes, but a trip up from EY on the outside let Cage hit his Falling Neckbreaker. He took over with will intense neck work, and whenever he started to get cocky and let up, Young kept him in check and told him to keep on Angle. Christian worked an Ortonlock for a bit, but it wasn’t as good, and Angle fought away and chucked him with a belly-to-back suplex! He got some steam and hit a bunch of high-impact suplexes, but Cage went to the eyes to stop it. He tried the Unprettier, but Angle pulled his arms through and hit the Triple Germans! ONE … TWO … THRE – Young put Cage’s leg on the bottom rope! Angle threw a fit while holding at his neck, which got hurt with the Germans. He climbed to the outside to get at EY, and threw Danielson out of the way to get there! He chased Young around, but got blindsided by a Baseball Slide from Cage! He tossed Angle around some on the outside, using the barricade and ring post to attack his neck. He rolled him back into the ring and tried his Falling Neckbreaker again, but Angle used a big uppercut to get away. Angle shoved him into the turnbuckle and charged, but Cage moved, and Angle’s neck crashed into the steel! Cage grabbed a roll up, and EY gave him leverage from the outside! ONE … TWO … THRE – ANGLE KICKED OUT! Cage yanked him up and tried the Unprettier, but Angle shoved him forward into the turnbuckle, AND THEN GRABBED HIS ANKLE YEAH! He took Cage to the mat and pulled at his ankle, but Christian quickly rolled through and sent Angle into the ropes. Cage called the ref over and had him check his ankle, and in that time, Young ran over with a BIG right hand to Angle! He staggered backwards, and Cage grabbed a backslide! ONE … TWO … THRE – Angle kicked out! And he immediately ran out of the ring and attacked Eric Young! He pummeled him with big punches on the floor, and then chucked him into the steel barricade! Christian followed him to the outside, but ate a big European Uppercut! He rolled Christian back into the ring, and then turned to give Young one last toss into the barricade for good measure. He climbed back into the ring, but STOOD UP RIGHT INTO THE UNPRETTIER! ONE … TWO … THREE!
Winner via pinfall: Christian Cage (12:23)

Cage celebrated in the ring, and then climbed out to the floor to help Danielson assist Young to the back.

A Robert Roode video package played, highlighting his DEVIOUS~ tactics to get into position to be #1 contender, and then capitalizing by beating Angle on Impact.

Jeremy Borash did formal introductions.

Commentary noted that Roode wanted Young in his corner, but Angle took him out last match, and now he’ll be alone.

Match 8: AJ Styles[c] vs Robert Roode [TNA World Championship]
Roode did a lot of dodging here actually, and Tenay said that Roode seemed nervous here. They finally locked up and Styles mostly dominated at the mat, and Roode got really frustrated and kept keeping near the ropes for a quick break. Styles started to make a move to target his arm to prevent the Northern Lariat, and still Roode had trouble at first. He finally managed to connect with some big elbows, and then charged Styles into the corner and started to beat him down. He was super aggressive with going after the ribs, and when Styles started to get some steam with some chops, he tried a roundhouse, but Roode caught his leg and hit a HUGE leg-trap powerbomb! Shit! He settled down into his routine and wore away at AJ, cutting off his comebacks with more and more ferocity. What a good word! This was AJ’s bumping and selling and Roode’s downs syndrome rage. After a while, Styles could hardly get anything off due to his ribs, but he did manage to dodge the Payoff and hit the Pele Kick! He held at his midsection and slowly got up, and connected with some big elbows AND THEN HIS DISCUS LARIAT! ONE … TWO … THR – Roode kicked out! Styles pulled him up and tried the Styles Clash, but Roode body dropped away! He came off the ropes and tried the Northern Lariat, but Styles ducked and roundhouse kicked Roode’s shoulder! The challenger faltered, and Styles jumped up for a hurrican – NO! POWERBOMB BY ROODE! ONE … TWO … THRE – Styles kicked out! Roode yanked him and tried another powerbomb, but Styles rolled through and landed behind. He ran off the ropes, but came back INTO THE DOUBLE R SPINEBUSTER! ONE … TWO … THRE – STYLES KICKED OUT! Roode stomped at his ribs, and then chucked him out of the ring and bumped him around on the floor. He went to toss AJ into the ring post, but the champion reversed it and sent him crashing! HURRICANRANA ON THE FLOOR! He rolled Roode into the ring and crawled to cover, but by then Roode had rolled up off the mat. The met on their feet and traded blows, but Roode went to the eyes and tackled Styles into the corner. He set him up for a Superplex, but Styles blocked it with some elbows. They had a long struggled, until Styles exploded with chops AND THEN A CHOP TO THE FACE FUCK YEAH! Roode flew down to the mat, and Styles stood up! FROG SPLAS – NO! ROODE GOT UP THE KNEES! RIGHT TO AJ’S RIBS! FUCK! Styles flopped around every on the mat screaming in pain. He finally got up, AND ROODE CREAMED HIM WITH THE NORTHERN LARIAT! ONE … TWO … THRE – STYLES GOT HIS FOOT ON THE BOTTOM ROPE! But Roode didn’t see it! He thought he’d won! He started celebrating and calling for the title, but when the ref told him what happened he SNAPPED! He shouted at the officials and then picked him up by the collar, BUT STYLES GRABBED A ROLL UP! ONE … TWO … TH – Roode got out! Roode got right up with a kick to the ribs and tried a powerbomb, but Styles weight just collapsed to the mat. Roode got a cocky grin on his face and walked over to Styles, WHO SURPRISED HIM WITH THE KIP UP HURRICANRANA! Roode flew into the corner and bumped backwards, and Styles hopped up and ran to the corner, and came back with the PHENOMENAL DDT! He crawled over for the cover, but couldn’t hook a leg due to his ribs, ONE … TWO … THRE – Roode kicked out! AJ picked him up and threw him into the corner and charged with a roundhouse, but Roode ducked and AJ got caught up on the top. Roode took him in his vulnerable state and tried the Roode Awakening, but Styles elbowed away and rushed with a TORNADO DDT! He was coughing up a lunch as he held his midsection and quickly pulled Roode up! STYLES CLASH! ONE … TWO … THREE!
Winner via pinfall and still TNA World Champion: AJ Styles (16:55)

AJ Styles held his midsection as he strapped on his title, still TNA Champion.

First and foremost, I am truly impressed at your commitment to this thread. The way you've kept it up for the enjoyment of writing, not for the adulation of peers, is very admirable.

I like the way you write your shows. Light-hearted, free of the typical pretensions, if not a little lazy at times, but that just adds to the charm. BTB isn't a serious issue.

Onto the booking itself. The matches (this going off your Final Resolution PPV) are good when you want to make them good, but basic when you do not. I can't really begrudge you for this though, lower card matches are never as fun as the Main Event.

Your promos are unorthodox but I find them entertaining and to the point. There was a distinct lack of them, but being a PPV I was not expecting many.

One genuine dislike, a pet peeve of mine, is the amount of superstars you use. Too much interference and accompaniements to the ring for mine, it gives you an angle to work off of but with so many it ends up rather messy. Cutting some of the dead weight would do you worlds of good in my opinion, there were 35 superstars including dark matches involved with the show, which I just think is overkill.

In summary, wow. Your commitment is second to none. Although I don't think my encouragement will be of any value, I do hope you continue this for even longer, you've got a unique style of writing and one I quite enjoy.

Your feedback on the size of my roster is actually helpful to hear. I've heard it before, so I'm going to start taking steps to cut some a bit. I am also considering a brand split to divvy it up. Thanks for the words.

AJ Styles came out to start the show and said that he’s now added Roode to the list of competitors that he’s put down. He actually said that Roode put up a surprisingly good fight, but it wasn’t good enough. That drew Roode out, and the two traded words over Roode saying that he deserves another shot, but Styles saying he wanted to face new challengers.

Interim-GM Scott Steiner came out and said that Team Canada actually looked impressive on Sunday, as they all won … except Roode. But they weren’t the only group to win on Sunday—Joe, Homicide, and Low Ki all came out on top as well. That’s why he’s booking tonight’s main event as Young/Cage/Petey vs Joe/Low Ki/Homicide, and somebody on the winning team will receive a title shot. Who exactly it is will be up to the guys within the winning team. AJ accepted it, but Roode was infuriated for not being in the match. Steiner told Roode to chill out and get ready for a tag team match after the commercial break: AMW vs Roode/Dux!

Commentary reacted to those two matches, and also revealed that Booker/Lethal vs Shelley/Rhino and Sean Hernandez vs Chuck Taylor would take place tonight.

--Commercial Break--

Matt Morgan was with Lauren and he said that he was going to be a better TV Champion than Monty was. He hyped his first title defense on Xplosion against Lance Hoyt.

Match 1: America’s Most Wanted vs Robert Roode/Tyson Dux
Roode had no real interest being in this match, so it started with mostly AMW bumping Dux around and double-teaming him without much disruption. However, when they went for the Death Sentence, Roode ran over and knocked Harris to the floor. Storm rushed at Roode, but he jumped down, and Storm turned into a DDT from Dux! He crawled over and tagged in Roode, who just started stomping and punching at Storm. He wore him down for a bit with solid offense, and then Dux got involved and a typical isolation commenced. Storm eventually ducked under a Roode lariat and nailed his Back Cracker, then tagged in Harris! HOT TAG~! He cleaned house, and connected with his Half Nelson Slam on Dux! ONE … TWO … THRE – Roode broke it up! Storm rushed the ring, but Roode caught him with the Double R Spinebuster! Harris stumbled up and Roode tried the Payoff, but Harris shoved away and got on a big roll. He took everybody on, and then chucked Roode to the outside. He tagged out to Storm, and then took Roode out with a Plancha on the floor! Storm bounced Dux around the ring, and topped it off with his Sitout Powerbomb! ONE … TWO … THRE – Dux kicked out! Storm pulled him up, but Dux dropped to the mat and tried to bring Storm down. But Storm held his weight and dropped a knee right on the back of Dux’s skull! He pulled him up and nailed the Eight Second Ride! ONE … TWO … THREE!
Winners via pinfall: America’s Most Wanted (8:01)

Roode broke up the pin, but he was JUST late. Storm got up and celebrated, but Roode took him out with the Northern Lariat, and then returned up the ramp with Dux. Harris finally rolled into the ring and helped Storm up, and he was pissed.

Backstage, Kurt Angle confided to Collyer and Strong that he was pissed at himself for losing to Christian. They told him to forget it, because they were going to kick some ass together tonight.

--Commercial Break--

Backstage, Joe, Homicide, and Low agreed that whichever one of them gets the win in the main event would earn the title shot against AJ Styles.

Match 2: Kurt Angle/Chad Collyer/Roderick Strong vs TJ Perkins/Scott Lost/Kenny King
All the faces got to showcase their offense. Strong got worked over briefly, but he nailed King with a Pendulum Backbreaker, and then tagged out to Angle. Suplexes everywhere. He hit King with the Triple Germans and covered, but Perkins broke it up! Collyer rushed the ring and hit Perkins with a belly-to-belly, and then Strong got a charging Lost with the Strong Backbreaker! King staggered up in the middle of the ring, and he walked right into the Olympic Slam and Angle covered for the three-count!
Winners via pinfall: Kurt Angle/Chad Collyer/Roderick Strong (5:04)

The faces celebrated in the ring.

Backstage, Christian Cage told Monty Brown to be in Team Canada’s corner tonight, but Monty told Christian to be in his own corner, fool.

--Commercial Break--

In the back, Sean Waltman went up to Jimmy Jacobs and made fun of him for losing to Alex Shelley. He kept trolling, and Jacobs attacked! Security pulled them apart, and Nash came up and reprimanded Jacobs. He said he’d be in a handicap match later as a punishment.

A replay from last week of Christian bringing in Bryan Danielson to be an “associate†of Team Canada played.

Christian and Roode were talking in the back, and it seemed rather heated. Danielson walked up, and Roode glared at him. He told Roode that he knows he doesn’t like him, but he wants to do something to impress Team Canada, so for them to keep their eyes open.

This week’s Xplosion main event: Roderick Strong vs Amazing Red! Renewed semi-push for Amazing Red continues!

--Commercial Break--

Commentary talked about the Hernandez/Chuck stuff, and how they were good buddies until Chuck called him out for being a dick.

Match 3: Sean Hernandez vs Chuck Taylor
Chuckie got tons of nearfalls with a bunch of pinning combinations, but he eventually fell victim to the Spea – NO! Hernandez hit the ring post! He bumped back to the middle of the ring, INTO THE TWIST OF FATE! ONE … TWO … THRE – Hernandez threw him off! Taylor hit a bunch of running leg drops! He climbed up top! FLYING SPLASH HOLY FUCK YES! ONE … TWO … THRE – HERNANDEZ KICKED OUT! He pulled Hernandez up and tried another Twist of Fate, but Hernandez picked him up and PLANTED him with a sick Spinebuster! He pulled him up for a Border Toss, but Taylor SPUN OVER AND HIT A CUTTER! CHUCKIE T CLIMBED UP TOP! SLOPPY AS HELL MOONSAULT! FUCK YEAH DO IT CHUCK! ONE … TWO … THRE – NO! HERNANDEZ KICKED OUT! Taylor climbed back up, and when Hernandez got up, Taylor jumped up, BUT HERNANDEZ SPEARED HIM OUT OF MIDAIR FUCK! He pulled him up and nailed a Border Toss! ONE … TWO … THRE – Hernandez pulled Taylor’s shoulder up off the mat! He pulled him up and hit another Border Toss, THIS TIME INTO THE CORNER TURNBUCKLE! ONE … TWO … THREE!
Winner via pinfall: Sean Hernandez (3:12) (90 – 0)

Hernandez celebrated in the ring. Taylor slowly got up, AND HERNANDEZ SPEARED HIM AGAIN! He went to the back, and Taylor screamed in pain as he held at his ribs.

--Commercial Break--

A replay from earlier tonight of Jacobs attacking Waltman played.

Match 4: Jimmy Jacobs vs Sean Waltman/The James Gang
Jacobs tried to fight all three, and he had good success when he could cut off the tag partners, but he always eventually fell back into the numbers trap. He almost had the win after the Detroit Code to Kip, but Waltman pulled him off. Jacobs took it to all three guys at once, but they all started stomping at him. Waltman tagged in and tried the Comedown, but Jacobs body dropped away! He tried the Detroit Code, but Kip pulled his legs away from the apron, and he crashed to the mat! He stumbled to his feet, right into the Syxx-Factor to lose.
Winners via pinfall: Sean Waltman/The James Gang (5:10)

The heels celebrated over Jacobs, and then beat him down some. Waltman hit him with the Pedigree/Comedown, and they went to the back.

--Commercial Break--

Match 5: Booker T/Jay Lethal[c] vs Alex Shelley/Rhino w/ Angelina Love [TNA Tag Team Championships]
Shelley had some heated mat segments with both Booker T and Lethal, but constant stalemates frustrated the X-Division champion. Booker T and Lethal controlled for the most part when they worked together, but after being weakened by Rhino, Shelley started stretching Booker out on the mat, really going after the leg that Bailout dismantled last night. They both worked over his limb, and Love helped distract the ref when it was beneficial. T finally exploded with chops on Rhino and creamed him with his awesome Bicycle Kick! He tagged out to Lethal, who came right in with a springboard clothesline to Rhino! ONE … TWO … THR – Rhino kicked out! Lethal pulled him up and tried the Lethal Combination, but Rhino shoved him off and flattened him with a big shoulderblock. He picked him up and tried the Pumphandle Slam, but Lethal countered into a crucifix pin! ONE … TWO … THRE – Shelley pulled it apart! Lethal ran at him, but Shelley caught him on the ropes and hit a big running elbow! He tagged in and tried a Superkick, but Lethal caught it and hit a Dragon Whip Kick! ONE … TWO … THR – Rhino pulled him off! Booker got in the ring, and Rhino tried the Gore, but Book jumped over him and caught him coming back with the Book End! He turned around, but Lethal connected with a big Superkick! He turned to grab Lethal, but he slipped around and hit a FLIPPING DRAGON SUPLEX! ONE … TWO … THRE – Shelley kicked out! Lethal went up top and signaled for the Elbow, but Shelley got up and crotched him at the top. He climbed up as well and they traded blows, but Lethal kicked him off! LETHAL ELBOW! ONE … TWO … THREE!
Winners via pinfall and still TNA Tag Team Champions: Booker T/Jay Lethal (7:56)

The champions celebrated, and Jay Lethal was freaking out at having pinned the X-Division Champion. Shelley slowly got up in the ring and he was stunned.

--Commercial Break--

AJ Styles came down to do commentary. All of Team Canada came out for this, though Monty Brown was notably missing.

Match 6: Samoa Joe/Low Ki/Homicide vs Eric Young/Christian Cage/Petey Williams w/ Dux, Roode, Tomko, & Danielson
Team Canada was super cocky avoiding everything and taunting each guy, so instead the faces all just rushed the ring and killed everybody with absurdly stiff strikes. Joe and Ki slapped Petey back-and-forth between each other, and then Joe hit an enzuigiri that knocked him right into a Death Valley Driver from Low Ki! ONE … TWO … THRE – Cage broke it up! Joe charged at him, but Cage ducked and sent him to the outside! He followed up with a Plancha, BUT JOE CAUGHT HIM! He dropped him with a power slam on the floor, but then turned into a Baseball Slide from Young! He punched away at Joe, but Homicide took him out with a Tope Con Hilo! He got up and celebrated, BUT PETEY CLOBBERED HIM WITH A POLISH HAMMER~ ON THE FLOOR! He kept stomping at Williams, but Low Ki ran off the ropes and came back WITH A TOPE CON DROPKICK!!!

--Commercial Break--

Shit went back-and-forth. Homicide got isolated, Low Ki did a lot of murdering, and Joe cleaned it up and hit Young with a big Snap Samoan Drop! ONE … TWO … THR – Williams dove to save! Ki came in with big strikes, and Petey tried to meet him with punches, but Ki slapped him away AND HIT HIS SPINNING BACKFIST! Young attacked, BUT KI DROPPED HIM WITH ANOTHER! Cage came over, and Ki tried one more, but Christian ducked and hit his Falling Reverse DDT! Joe rushed with a running headbutt, but Cage got his knee up and busted Joe in the skull! He stumbled back, and Cage hit a running elbow that sent him out of the ring! Homicide got in and he tried the West Brooklyn Lariat on Cage, but he ducked. Homicide came bounding back and Cage tried a running elbow, but Homicide ducked AND HIT THE 187! He tried a 187 on Petey, but he shoved him to the outside! Petey and Christian followed Ki and ‘Cide to the floor, but the faces turned it around and killed them with big strikes. They kept it up, but The Enlightened ran out! With the ref’s attention on EY and Joe in the ring, Daniels & Co attacked Low Ki and Homicide on the floor! They laid into them, and the distraction let Young hit Joe with his Northern Lights Suplex! ONE … TWO … THRE – Joe kicked out! Young tried to put in the Sharpshooter, but Joe shoved him away into Dux on the apron! Tomko got up on the apron, and the ref shouted for him to get down. Danielson climbed into the ring and Joe told him to get the fuck out, and Danielson just laughed. Joe charged, but Daniels ducked out, AND ROODE HIT JOE WITH THE NORTHERN LARIAT! He and Young pulled him up, and Roode called for the ref AS YOUNG HIT JOE WITH THE SPIKE PILEDRIVER! ONE … TWO … THREE!!!
Winners via pinfall: Eric Young/Christian Cage/Petey Williams (15:46)

Eric Young and Petey Williams celebrated in the ring, and Christian eventually joined them. Samoa Joe slowly got up and saw The Enlightened on the floor beating down Homicide and Low Ki and he FREAKED out. He flew out of the ring and took them all out with a huge plancha! The two trios brawled on the floor as Team Canada stared down AJ Styles from the ring.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY SISTER~

Tonight on Xplosion: Bailout vs Bonham/Edwards, Sean Hernandez in action, and a TV Title match!

Match 1: Los Infernales/Volador vs TJ Perkins/Scott Lost/Kenny King
Fun bumping by the heels, and a solid control segment over Mephisto. This time King got hit by a big roundhouse, and Averno came off with a Moonsault! ONE … TWO … THR – Perkins broke it up! Everybody rushed the ring and there was a big move-trading train. In the end, VOLADOR HIT KING WITH THE DRAGONRANA TO WIN!
Winners via pinfall: Los Infernales/Volador (6:29)

The luchas celebrated in the ring.

--Commercial Break--

The Young Bucks were backstage, and Max complained about how they’re getting nowhere in TNA. Jeremy said that’s no reason to start cheating, but Max said that if things didn’t turn around soon, he’d see what he could do on his own.

Match 2: Sean Hernandez vs Norman Smiley
Hernandez rushed right at him with big punches, but Norman ducked one and dropkicked him into the ropes. THE BIG WIGGLE~!~!~! He tried a vertical suplex, but no. Hernandez shoved him into the ropes and caught him back with the Spear! Cracker Jack, Border Toss, and win.
Winner via pinfall: Sean Hernandez (91 – 0) (1:45)

Matt Morgan was walking in the back, looking very confident.

--Commercial Break--

Footage of Morgan beating Monty Brown at Final Resolution to win the TV Title played.

Match 3: Matt Morgan[c] vs Lance Hoyt [TNA Television Championship]
Morgan played the face here, and despite some clubbering by Hoyt, he fought back and beat him around pretty well. Hoyt ducked under the Carbon Footprint and tried a backbreaker, but Morgan spun through and tackled Hoyt into the corner. He used his rapid corner elbows, and then hit his Stalling Vertical Suplex! He climbed up top and hit his Blueprint Crossbody to retain.
Winner via pinfall and still TNA Television Champion: Matt Morgan (3:40)

Morgan celebrated in the ring.

--Commercial Break--

Clips from Bailout vs Lethal/Booker at Final Resolution played, and commentary hyped that Bailout took the champs to an 18-minute match, which they almost won several times.

Match 4: Bailout vs Brandon Bonham/Eddie Edwards
Bailout were super brutal here, presumably because of how close they got to winning the titles. Bonham managed to catch Davey with a big heel kick, and then he and Edwards bumped him around some, but he smacked the shit out of Eddie and then hit a big lariat. Burke got in and cleaned up some, but Bonham hit a hurricanrana and held the pin! ONE … TWO … THR – Davey kicked him off! He turned into a roundhouse from Edwards, who then went for the Lionsault, but Davey moved! Edwards staggered to his feet, right into Davey’s Bankrupt Driver! Burke pulled Bonham up, and he and Davey nailed him with the Bankruptcy! ONE … TWO … THREE!
Winners via pinfall: Bailout (5:59)

Burke got on the stick and challenged the tag champs to another title match, saying that they took them to the limit, and another chance would make all the difference.

--Commercial Break--

Match 5: Roderick Strong vs Amazing Red
Strong worked him over big on the mat, and Red had trouble fight back. But when Strong started to try to throw him around, red came back with his high-flying. He stuck some big kicks and high-flying stuff, and managed to block all of Strong’s comebacks by rolling out of the way. When Strong nailed a Pendulum Backbreaker, he went for the Gutwrench, but Red countered into a hurricanrana! He came off the ropes and hit his Hurricanrana Driver! ONE … TWO … THRE – Strong kicked out! Red climbed up top and tried a Shooting Star Press, but Strong moved! GUTWRENCH BACKBREAKER! ONE … TWO … THRE – Red got his foot on the bottom rope! Strong continued on his big offense, and Amazing Red bumped huge. He tried to end it with the Strong Backbreaker, but elbowed away and came off the ropes for a tilt-a-tilt-a-tilt-a-whirl bulldog! ONE … TWO … THRE – Strong kicked out! Red measured him up and ran off the ropes for the Red Eye, BUT STRONG COUNTERED RIGHT INTO THE STRONG BACKBREAKER FROM MIDAIR! ONE … TWO … THREE!
Winner via pinfall: Roderick Strong (9:03)

Both guys got a good ovation for the match, and Roddy helped Red to his feet, and they shook hands before Strong celebrated up the ramp.

Commentary welcomed us to the show and said that we would find out who would face AJ Styles at Genesis, though most expect it to be Eric Young.

Kevin Nash went to ringside to watch this match.

Match 1: Jimmy Jacobs vs Sean Waltman
Jacobs was super aggressive here, and commentary speculated that he was still angry at losing to Shelley. He was really violent with his strikes, and did a lot of choking. Waltman created space after an undetected low blow, and he kept Jacobs contained some, but it only served to piss him off more. He exploded with strikes and stuff, and when Waltman tried another low blow, Jacobs blocked it and tackled Waltman to the mat and started choking him, ignoring the ref’s 5-count.
Winner via disqualification: Sean Waltman (5:54)

Jacobs kept choking Waltman out, and he tossed the referee away when he tried to pull him off. Kevin Nash eventually ran into the ring and pulled Jacobs off, and then Chokeslammed him in the middle of the ring! Nash helped Waltman up, and they went to the back.

--Commercial Break--

Backstage, Eric Young was talking about facing AJ at Genesis, but Christian stopped him and asked why he thought he got the match, to which EY responded because he made the pin last week. Christian said that one day Young would be ready, but not yet. He said he already went to Steiner and said that Team Canada agreed to give him the match, so AJ vs Christian has been booked. Young said that nobody agreed to that, but Christian said that he agreed to it, and Tomko probably did too.

Match 2: Matt Morgan[c] w/ Abyss vs Doug Williams w/ Dave Taylor [TNA Television Championship]
Morgan got a mixed reaction at this point, but when he started bumping Williams around the fans got behind him. This was largely a showcase for the new TV champion, but some distractions from Taylor let Williams get in some decent leg work. Morgan pushed away from a British Figure Four and caught Williams coming back with the Black Hole Slam! He went up top and came off with the Blueprint Crossbody to win.
Winner via pinfall and still TV Champion: Matt Morgan (6:33)

Morgan celebrated in the ring.

AMW was cutting a promo with Lauren. Storm called out Roode for attacking him last week, and he dug into their history in Beer Money some to build some heat between them.

--Commercial Break--

Match 3: Robert Roode w/ Tyson Dux vs Chris Harris w/ James Storm
Roode was really pissed off here, and seemed to step up to take it to the bigger man. They traded headlocks for a bit, but then Roode drove Harris’ shoulder into the turnbuckle and took over with basic arm work. Harris finally flung him off with an arm drag, and then got up a boot as Roode charged into the corner! He rushed out with a big clothesline that sent Roode to the outside, and then followed up with a HARRIS PLANCHA~!

--Commercial Break--

The Wildcat was bumping Roode around the ring, but eventually he ran off the ropes and came back into a big Double R Spinebuster! Roode took over from there, and it became pretty basic with Roode cutting off Harris’ offense by going to the arm, cheating, or using Dux on the outside. Eventually Storm got fed up with Dux on the outside and attacked him! With the ref’s attention there, Roode kicked Harris in the balls and tried the Northern Lariat, but Harris ducked, AND ROODE HIT THE REF! The Dux/Storm fight came into the ring, and soon all four guys went at it. Eventually Storm dumped Roode to the outside, and AMW bounced Dux around. They tried the Death Sentence, but Roode slid in with a steel chair and bashed Storm with it, sending him off the top and to the outside! He swung for Harris, but he ducked and connected with big hands. He ran off the ropes, Dux tripped him, and he stumbled RIGHT INTO A HUGE CHAIR SHOT FROM ROODE! He put the chair on the mat, AND HIT HARRIS WITH A PAYOFF ONTO THE STEEL CHAIR FUCK! Dux shook the ref to life as Roode tossed the chair out of the ring, and then he covered! ONE … TWO … THREE!
Winner via pinfall: Robert Roode (10:45)

Roode celebrated in the ring, and up the ramp with Dux. Storm got up on the floor, and rolled in to help Harris, whose neck was pretty hurt.

In the back, Bryan Danielson went to Chad Collyer and said they could have that match now. Collyer got excited, and agreed for later tonight.

Commentary reacted to Danielson vs Collyer for later, and also announced that Styles/a partner of his choice vs Christian/a partner of his choice had been signed for later tonight. Also, Bailout were granted a tag team title rematch for Genesis due to their strong showing at Final Resolution.

--Commercial Break--

Backstage, Jay Lethal was upset about Bailout getting another tag team title show since he wanted to challenge Shelley for the X-Title after pinning him last week. Booker told Lethal to go for it all, and encouraged him to challenge Shelley, but Lethal said he couldn’t both challenge and defend the tag titles at Genesis. Booker said that was okay, because he talked to Steiner already, and he said that he could defend the titles with this guy … CONSEQUENCES CREED~! Creed came out, and Lethal was stoked. Creed said he’d be proud to defend the tag titles of the Negroes, and Booker said they were glad to have him back.

Backstage, Christian told Monty to be his tag partner tonight, but Monty told Christian to go screw himself.

Roode went to Young in the back and asked how pissed he was about Christian taking his title shot. Young said he was upset, but he puts Team Canada first, and if Christian thinks he can get the belt into Team Canada, then he trusts that.

--Commercial Break--

Everybody was banned from ringside for the match.

Match 4: Samoa Joe vs Jimmy Rave
Joe was still in the mood for murder, and he spent a good time throwing Rave around. He tried a German Suplex, but Rave flipped through and chop blocked his leg! He took the big man out, and then went after the limb with NO REMORSE~. He actually looked surprisingly strong against Joe here, probably because he and Joe are friends irl. He kept cutting off Joe’s comebacks by cheating and stuff, but Joe finally connected with a huge lariat that sent Rave inside-out! He tried to put in the Coquina Clutch, but Rave dropped down and grabbed a rollup! ONE … TWO … THR – Joe kicked out! They both got up and Rave tried a jumping DDT, but Joe shoved him off and into the corner! He stumbled out and Joe hit the Chimera-Plex (German/Dragon/X-Plex Combination)! He started to cover, but then locked in the Coquina Clutch instead, and Rave tapped.
Winner via submission: Samoa Joe (7:12)

Joe celebrated in the ring, but the Enlightened came down to attack. Ki and ‘Cide ran down to make the save, but with Skipper there to make it a 4-on-3, and Daffney causing distractions, the heels laid them out.

--Commercial Break--

The Enlightened were in the back, and Daniels said that Joe and his dirty friends had only begun to feel the Enlightened’s wrath.

Commentary talked about how Danielson/Collyer almost happened in September before Roode ruined it, and how now this is Danielson’s first TNA match as an active member of the roster.

Match 5: Bryan Danielson vs Chad Collyer
They had a lot of tense standoffs and stalemates on the mat and they treated this like a big-time match, since this is the Impact Zone, and everybody in the Impact Zone has never seen Bryan Danielson wrestle, but he is still all of their favorite wrestler. Anyway, yeah, lots of fun mat work, and Collyer started to get frustrated with being matches on the mat for the first time since being in TNA. Danielson tried to lock in a weird Crossface yet to be named in this universe, but Collyer rolled through and got off a big belly-to-belly! After a couple more suplexes, he really took over and bounced Danielson around some. He tried to end it with the Everest German, but Danielson blocked it and pulled him forward, sending him out of the ring! He tried to followed up with a Plancha, but Collyer moved! He quickly slid into the ring and came back and hit Danielson with a BASEBALL SLIDE TO THE OUTSIDE! He quickly rolled Danielson in and covered! ONE … TWO … THRE – Danielson kicked out and turned the pin right into his Crossface, that Cornette quickly called the LeBell Lock! Collyer fought it for a while and finally made it to the ropes, but by then Danielson was able to take over with his calculating offense. Collyer finally managed to dodge a roundhouse and he connected with his Triple Belly-to-Bellys! He got some good steam, but Eric Young made his way down to ringside. The distraction let Danielson grab a small package! ONE … TWO … THRE – Collyer got out! They both got up and traded strikes, but it was a double-leg takedown that gave Collyer the momentum! He followed up with rapid chops, and then ran off the ropes, but Young tripped him up! Collyer stumbled forward INTO A TIGER DRIVER! ONE … TWO … THREE!
Winner via pinfall: Bryan Danielson (7:53)

Danielson looked at Young on the outside and was torn, but he eventually joined him and celebrated. Collyer got up and he was pissed.

--Commercial Break--

Backstage, Chuck Taylor told his janitor boss that he had two cracked ribs, so he’d be working full-time as a janitor for a while :(

Alex Shelley came out to cut a promo. He said that deserves to be seen as on the same level as AJ Styles, and he should be facing Christian, Angle, and Samoa Joe – not Jay Lethal. That drew out Lethal, who said that Shelley’s always had his number in singles match, but that he’s learned a lot under Booker T, and he’s ready to take the next step and win that X-Division Championship for the first time in 2 years. Shelley said that Lethal wasn’t worthy of holding this most prestigious prize in the company, and Lethal said that a pinfall over him last week says differently. Shelley laughed, and then hit Lethal in the skull with the microphone! They brawled, and Shelley ended up laying him out with the Shellshock.

--Commercial Break--

Christian Cage came out with Tyson Tomko as his partner. AJ Styles then came out with his partner…

MONTY BROWN~!~!

Match 6: AJ Styles/Monty Brown vs Christian Cage/Tyson Tomko
Tomko called out Monty to start, so they had a big power off. Monty got sick of wrestling for control, so e punch Tomko like a boss. He came off with a Flying Shoulder Block, and then tried a Powerbomb, but Tomko skirted out and tagged to Cage. He started hitting and ducking around Monty, but after he blocked Powerbomb, he demanded AJ to get in. The champion obliged, and he and the new #1 contender did stuff. Cage targeted the ribs that Roode injured at Final Resolution, but this time Styles shed him off with a series of dropkicks, and then a hurricanrana that sent him to the outside! He ran off for the Fosbury Flop, BUT TOMKO RAN AND SHOVED CAGE OUT OF THE WAY AND STYLES HIT THE FLOOR!

--Commercial Break--

Back from the break, Christian and Tomko wee picking Styles apart, again going after his ribs. But when Tomko tried a Powerbomb, Styles rolled through, and this time he had a tag to make! Monty came in on fire and cleaned house on both guys. He chucked Cage into the corner, and caught him stumbling back with a POWERBOMB! ONE … TWO … THRE – Tomko dove to break it up! Styles rushed the ring, but Tomko booted him in the midsection, and then hit a Gutwrench Suplex! He turned around INTO THE ALPHA LARIAT! Cage stumbled to his feet, AND MONTY HIT A CHOKESLAM! ONE … TWO … THRE – Christian kicked out! Monty threw him off the ropes and tried the Pounce, but Tomko dove and tripped him, and he stumbled into a DDT from Christian! ONE … TWO … THR – Monty kicked out! Tomko quickly pulled him up and punched at him, then turned him to Christian, who tried the Unprettier, but Monty shoved him away INTO A SPRINGBOARD ELBOW SMASH FROM AJ STYLES! Tomko tried to hit AJ with a Lariat, but he ducked and hit the Pele Kick! Tomko stumbled backwards into the ALPHA BOMB! AJ Styles quickly climbed up top! SPIRAL TAP! ONE … TWO … THREE!
Winners via pinfall: AJ Styles/Monty Brown

Styles celebrated in the ring, but Monty just left and went to the back. Christian slid in the ring and tried to get AJ with the Unprettier, but Styles shoved him away! He turned to run off the ropes, but TOMKO HIT HIM WITH TEH BEWT AND IT FLIPPED HIM INSIDE OUT BAH GAWD~! Christian and Tomko celebrated over AJ and Christian motioned for the belt.

Winner via pinfall: Sean Hernandez (93 – 0) (1:26)

Hernandez celebrated in the ring, until Max got in and attacked him! Hernandez chucked him to the side and got him in the corner and asked if he wanted to go, and Max said he wanted a match NOW!

Match 2: Sean Hernandez vs Max Buck w/ Jeremy
Max ran straight at Hernandez with an elbow to the face, but Hernandez grabbed him by the neck and chucked him with the Cracker Jack! He quickly pulled him up and hit the Border Toss and got the win.

Edwards and Red had a big flurry of offense, but a trip up from Schulz made Edwards stumble into a Russian Legsweep from Koslov! RUSSIAN STEP DANCE! He and Magnus beat him down some, but when Magnus tried the Italian Stallion Kick, Edwards ducked under and came off the ropes with a tilt-a-whirl arm drag! He made the hot tag, and Red flew around. He hit Magnus with Koslov with a flying enzuigiri, and then kicked at Magnus, and came off with the Hurricanrana Driver! ONE … TWO … THRE – Koslov dove to save! --Commercial Break--

The Young Bucks were in the back, and Max told Jeremy that earlier tonight was the most embarrassing night of his career in TNA. Jeremy tried to cool him down, but Max said that he was at a breaking point, and was about to either drop Jeremy or leave this company all together. He stormed off, and Jeremy looked concerned.

Footage of Roode’s attack on Chris Harris from Impact played, and commentary said that Harris was expected to be out for a bit with a neck injury.

GM Steiner was in the back, and said that he decided to allow the 3 Crazy Negroes defend the titles under Freebird Rules, and so Booker/Creed vs Bailout would happen at Genesis for the tag team titles!

--Commercial Break--

Match 4: Jerome Robinson vs Doug Williams w/ Dave Taylor
After a brief mat segment, which Williams eventually won out on, this turned into a Williams showcase. He really stretched Robinson out on the mat, and Taylor got in a cheap elbow to stop the brief babyface comeback. Williams hit a big running knee, then an STO Backbreaker, and then he locked in the Britannic Bow and Arrow, and Robinson tapped.

The Redcoats celebrated in the ring.

Christian Cage came out to start the show, and he spent some time putting over Robert Roode and Eric Young as the future of the business, and said that he’s only a servant to them and to the legacy of Canadian wrestling. And that’s why he volunteered to be the one to beat Styles for the world title at Genesis. He said he was going to beat AJ Styles, his former protégé, and bring the gold to the waist of a nationally superior competitor.

AJ Styles came out, and asked if Christian was going to beat him like he did at Bound For Glory V? He said Christian is nothing more than a back stabber, and he said so last year, and it got some people mad at him, but now everybody knows that he was right all along. He said that Cage would have no problem turning on anybody in Team Canada when the opportunity is right, but Cage denied it. They traded words for a bit more, but before they went to blows, Scott Steiner came out. He said that they seemed to want a fight, so they would both be booked in singles matches tonight: AJ Styles vs Tyson Tomko and Christian Cage vs Monty Brown!

Commentary reacted to those two matches, and also announced Eric Young vs Chad Collyer and Jacobs vs Nash, along with AJ Styles vs Tyson Tomko, and Christian Cage vs Monty Brown in the main event!

--Commercial Break--

Chuck Taylor was mopping backstage, and MICK FOLEY~ walked up. He said that when he was GM, Taylor was his best employee, so he brought him a care package while he heals up. They talked a bit about Hernandez, and Foley said he’d go talk to him.

Kevin Nash came out and said he was returning to the ring to squash a gross little X-guy.

Match 1: Jimmy Jacobs vs Kevin Nash w/ Sean Waltman
Jacobs rushed the ring and ran right at Nash, right into a big boot! Nash chucked him around some, but Jacobs came off the ropes with a SPEAR! ONE … TWO … TH – Nash kicked out! Jacobs kept kicking at him to keep him down, and then tried the Detroit Code, but Nash shoved him off. He pulled him up and tried the Jackknife, but JACOBS USED THE BILLY KIDMAN COUNTER! He hit a flurry of kicks, then a big roundhouse, AND HE GOT OFF THE DETROIT CODE! ONE … TWO … THRE – Sean Waltman broke it up!
Winner via disqualification: Jimmy Jacobs (4:47)

Waltman kept stomping at Jacobs, and Nash eventually joined in. They kept at it, until CHRIS SABIN~ ran down for the save!!! He cleaned house, and then helped Jacobs up!! Nash and Waltman regrouped up the ramp, and Steiner came out to book Sabin/Jacobs vs Nash/Waltman for Genesis!

Backstage, Lethal went to Booker T and said that Bailout almost beat them at Final Resolution, and he’s honestly nervous to put his tag team title in Creed’s hands. Booker told Lethal not to worry, because he’s trusting Creed to keep his career intact, so Lethal can trust Creed not to lose a belt. He told Lethal to go out and beat Rhino later tonight, and then go win the X-Division Title at Genesis.

--Commercial Break--

Mick Foley went to Hernandez in the back to talk to him about what he did to Chuckie, but Hernandez shoved him and told him to mind his own business.

Match 2: Consequences Creed w/ Booker T vs Davey Richards w/ Elijah Burke
They went to the mat to start, but Davey started throwing strikes and beating Creed around. Tenay said that Creed seemed rusty, but Cornette pointed out that he was never great to start with. Richards delivered stiff chops and elbows, but Creed ducked under a spinning backhand, and hit his jabs and uppercut! Davey fell back to the corner, and Creed followed up with his Somersault Clothesline! ONE … TWO … THR – Davey kicked out! Creed kept up his offense, but Davey blocked a roundhouse, and hit a Regal-Plex! He yanked him up and nailed the Bankrupt Driver! ONE … TWO … THREE!
Winner via pinfall: Davey Richards (6:12)

Richards celebrated in the ring, and Burke joined him. The camera cut backstage to where Lethal was watching, and he looked concerned.

Backstage, James Storm was cutting a promo on Robert Roode, calling him a coward for attacking Harris like that and putting him out with a minor neck injury. All of a sudden, Roode attacked from behind and laid him out with the Northern Lariat! He leaned down to Storm, and shouted “MONEY!†and then walked off.

--Commercial Break--

Match 3: Jay Lethal vs Rhino w/ Shelley & Love
Lethal took it right to Rhino with big punches, and then stuck a headlock and even wore him out on the mat some! He eventually got overpowered going for a suplex, and Rhino countered with a belly-to-belly. He took over with some basic power offense, and some distractions from Love helped Rhino keep in control. He tried to end it with the Gore, but Lethal jumped over and caught him coming back with a SUPERKICK! ONE … TWO … THR – Rhino kicked out! Lethal pulled him up and hit the Lethal Combination, but when he went up top, Shelley climbed on the apron! Lethal kicked him down, but it gave Rhino time to get up. He met Lethal with strikes at the top, but Lethal met him with elbows and a big right hand that sent Rhino down. LETHAL ELBOW! ONE … TWO … THREE!
Winner via pinfall: Jay Lethal (6:05)

Lethal celebrated in the ring, but Shelley slid in. He tried a Superkick, but Lethal caught his leg, gave an “OHHHH YEAH†and pushed Shelley back and over the top rope to the floor!

--Commercial Break--

A replay of Eric Young helping Bryan Danielson beat Chad Collyer last week played.

Match 4: Chad Collyer vs Eric Young w/ Bryan Danielson
They went to the mat for a bit, and Collyer had a decent advantage. He tried to transition it into some neck work, but Young managed to yanked at his arm enough to put in an effective arm bar. He kept wearing at the arm, but Collyer managed to shrug him off and bounce him around for a bit, until he ran right into a running back elbow from EY! Young worked a sleeper hold for a bit, but Collyer eventually fought to his feet and elbowed out, then exploded with a belly-to-belly! Young rolled to the outside, but then turned around INTO A BASEBALL SLIDE FROM COLLYER!

--Commercial Break--

Collyer was bumping Young around with amateur throws, but Young began throwing punches when he could to even the field. Collyer tried to meet him with strikes, but Young caught a punch and countered with a falling arm breaker! He controlled Collyer now, going back to the arm whenever Collyer tried to mount a comeback. But when Young tried the Spike Piledriver, Collyer shoved him away AND HIT A STANDING DROPKICK! He kept it up with dropkicks, and then a JUMPING ENZUIGIRI WTF CHAD COLLYER DOING KICKS! ONE … TWO … THRE – Young kicked out! Collyer kept it up bumping Young around, but EY went to the eyes o slow him down. He tried the Spike Piledriver again, but Collyer body dropped away! He stumbled to his feet … EVEREST GERMAN! ONE … TWO … THR – Collyer’s arm gave out and he lost the bridge! He pulled Young up and tried a Gutwrench Powerbomb, but Young pulled his legs out AND PUT HIM INTO THE SHARPSHOOTER! Collyer eventually made it to the ropes, but he was completely worn out. Young pulled him up for Spike Piledr – NO! Collyer body dropped away! Dropkick! Dropkick! Jumping clothesline with the good arm! Enzuigiri! He measured EY up and ran off the ropes, BUT DANIELSON TRIPPED HIM UP FROM THE OUTSIDE! Collyer fell face-first into the mat, and got up holding his nose, and he walked right into the SPIKE PILEDRIVER! ONE … TWO … THREE!
Winner via pinfall: Eric Young (12:28)

Young celebrated in the ring, and Danielson looked uncomfortable as commentary reacted to him helping EY win. Collyer got up in the ring, and Young attacked him, and Danielson just watched from ringside. Young kept going, UNTIL KURT ANGLE RAN OUT! He ran Young out and taunted him from the ring, BUT BRYAN DANIELSON SNUCK UP AND HIT KURT ANGLE WITH A GERMAN SUPLEX!!!! Danielson slid out of the ring and returned to the back with Young, and Kurt and Collyer were pissed in the ring.

Commentary hyped the TNA End of the Year Awards, and said that the nominees would be announced next week!

--Commercial Break--

Commentary announced that Eric Young/Bryan Danielson vs Kurt Angle/Chad Collyer had been signed for Genesis.

The Enlightened came down to the ring, and Daniels said that he’s been screwed over time and time again in this company, and now he’s being screwed over again by blind patriots who look to masters of this world. He said that his power comes from something deeper that nobody can understand. He accused the rest of the world of being “civilized†on the outside, but savages on the inside. And then there’s Samoa Joe, Low Ki, and Homicide, who are savages on the outside as well. He called them out to the ring, except that he called them the New Age Headshrinkers.

All three came out, and Joe had a microphone. He called them all sore losers from Final Resolution, obsessed with beating them because they know who the better wrestlers are. Daniels objected and said that being more well-liked doesn’t make you a good wrestler … look at Rob Van Dam – the fans loved him, but he was nothing more than a glorified backyard wrestler with hype. Homicide spoke up and asked if Daniels likes violence, to which Daniels told him that he was unworthy of speaking to him. But, as for violence, he doesn’t have a problem with it if it’s for a good cause, like moving himself up the ladder that he’s deserved to move up for seven years now. Homicide asked if he liked random acts of violence, and Daniels asked what the hell he was on about … AND HOMICIDE PULLED OUT HIS FORK AND TACKLED DANIELS TO THE MAT AND GRINDED IT INTO HIS SKULL! Ravarian jumped on him to pull him off, but Joe and Low Ki punched the shit out of them. Daffney rolled out of the ring, but Skipper joined in the brawl. Joe elbowed the fuck out of Skipper and sent him out of the ring, and then Low Ki nailed Ravarian with a double front dropkick! Daniels slowly got up in the ring, cut from the fork stabs, AND JOE PICKED HIM UP AND HIT THE MUSCLE BUSTER~!~! The “Wrestlers of Mass Destruction†celebrated in the ring as The Enlightened regrouped up the ramp, Daniels holding at his forehead.

--Commercial Break--

A replay of the brawl before the break played, and commentary hyped up that trios match for Genesis.

Match 5: AJ Styles vs Tyson Tomko w/ Christian Cage [Non-Title]
Styles chopped at Tomko’s legs with kicks, and managed to dodge most of Tomko’s strikes. The big man eventually stuck a kick to AJ’s midsection, but since Tomko worked the midsection last time, AJ scouted it immediately countered a vertical suplex into a Shelton Falling Neckbreaker! He flew around bounced Tomko around, but he eventually springboarded into a HUGE Flying Lariat! Styles seemed very woozy, so Tomko targeted the skull with some strikes, and then worked a rear naked choke. After a long struggle, the world champion got a vertical position and elbowed his way out, and connected with a big roundhouse! He ran off the ropes, but TOMKO HIT A DDT! ONE … TWO … THRE – Styles kicked out! Tomko lifted him up for the Argentine Neckbreaker, but AJ countered into a Crucifix Pin! ONE … TWO … THRE – Tomko got out! Tomko was up first and he tried a big right hand, but Styles ducked AND CAME OFF WITH THE PHENOMENAL DDT! ONE … TWO … THRE – Christian put Tomko’s foot on the bottom rope! Styles argued with Christian on the outside, and finally turned around to a TEH BEWT~, but AJ ducked! Springboard Phenomenal DDT! He went up top AND HIT THE SPIRAL TAP! ONE … TWO … THREE!
Winner via pinfall: AJ Styles (8:56)

Styles celebrated in the ring, and held up his title. He went to leave, but Christian snuck in and tossed Styles into TEH BEWT~ from Tomko! They stomped at him, BUT MONTY CAME DOWN FOR THE SAVE! He tossed Tomko and Christian out, and then said that his match with Christian was NEXT.

--Commercial Break--

Match 6: Christian Cage vs Monty Brown
Christian was way too cocky going into this, and he tried to lock it up, but Monty continually just chucked him to the side. In fact, the first chunk of the match was Christian getting in over his head and just getting squashed by Monty. He finally got a break after ducking the Alpha Lariat and took him down with a chop block. He worked over the leg some, but Monty made some space after blocking a cloverleaf, and then hit his Jumping Shoulder Block! ONE … TWO … THR – Christian kicked out, and immediately rolled to the outside. Monty tried to grab him from inside the ring, but Cage grabbed his neck and wrung him over the top rope! He grabbed his leg from the outside, AND BASHED IT IN THE RING POST! We’ll be right back!

--Commercial Break--

Cage was really working over Monty’s leg in the ring, and Monty’s comebacks got harder and harder to get through. At one point, Roode ran down during a Brown comeback, and just stood at ringside. After bumping around Christian for a bit, he noticed Roode and shouted out at him, but Roode insisted he was just there to watch. But the distraction let Cage kick his bad leg out, and he locked in a modified cloverleaf! Monty eventually made it to the ropes, but the DAMAGE WAS DONE~. Christian stomped at his leg on the ground, then pulled him up and kicked at his knee, and tried the Unprettier, but Monty shoved him away, and Cage bounced back INTO THE ALPHA BOMB! Monty’s leg gave out and it took him a long time to crawl over for the cover, but he finally did! ONE … TWO … THRE – Christian JUST kicked out! Monty pulled him up and whipped him across the ropes, but when he tried to run off for the Pounce, his leg gave out! He stumbled up to his feet, RIGHT INTO A DDT! ONE … TWO … THRE – Monty got an arm up! Christian pulled him up and tried the Unprettier, but Monty pulled his arms out and hit a Half Nelson Slam! ONE … TWO … THR – Cage kicked out! Monty exploded with big punches, AND GOT OFF THE ALPHA LARIAT! He climbed up top, but Roode knocked him off, undetected from the ref! Monty staggered up and shouted at Roode, and Christian grabbed a roll up with his feet one the ropes! ONE … TWO … THREE!
Winner via pinfall: Christian Cage (15:48)

Christian celebrated up the ramp, and Roode grinned evilly toward Monty Brown. Roode started to back up the ramp, BUT JAMES STORM RAN DOWN AND TOSSED HIM BACK INTO THE RING. He slowly stood up and turned around, AND MONTY WAS THERE! He went nuts on Roode with big punches and tossed him into the ropes, AND MONTY HIT ROODE WITH THE POUNCEEEEEEEEEEEE~!~!~! PERIOD.

MERRY CHRISTMAS~! Taz was alone at commentary, and he announced some matches for tonight: Hernandez vs Red, Young Bucks vs Perkins/Lost, and Collyer/Steamboat vs Dux/Morley in the main event. BUT FUCK THAT SHIT. He announced that to start the show we would see the first ever Kevin Claus First Annual Elf Invitational.

Nash was in the ring, dressed as Santa Claus. He called out his opponents, and four midgets (Puppet, Super Porky, Mascarita Sagrada, and Dink the Clown) dressed as elves came out.

Match 1: Kevin Claus vs Elves
All the elves ran over and jumped on Kevin’s legs, so he chucked them all to the side. They each charged him, and each got a big boot. And then they each ate Jackknife Powerbombs. He then stacked all four on top of each other and put his foot on the top to pin them all.
Winner via pinfall: Kevin Claus (1:36)

Kevin Nash celebrated in the ring, and Taz was cracking up on commentary.

--Commercial Break--

Kevin Nash came back to commentary and Taz said that he was the greatest human being ever.

Footage from Impact played of Monty Brown standing tall over Christian Cage and Robert Roode to close the show.

Match 2: Brandon Bonham vs Ken Doane
This was largely a Bonham showcase at the start, but after catching him on the top rope, Doane got a bit of a control segment. He mostly just kept Bonham grounded, but then he hit his awesome leg lariat, AND WENT UP TOP AND HIT HIS AWESOME FLYING LEG DROP! ONE … TWO … THRE – Bonham kicked out! Doane pulled him and tried a DDT, but Bonham spun through and hit the HIGH TIMES! ONE … TWO … THREE!
Winner via pinfall: Brandon Bonham (4:43)

Commentary announced Styles/Angle/Storm/Monty vs Team Canada for the main event of the next Impact! But next on Xplosion, a TV Title match!

--Commercial Break--

Dave Taylor came out and said that America sucks for thinking Christmas is cool. BAH HUMBUG.

Match 3: Matt Morgan[c] vs Dave Taylor [TNA Television Championship]
Taylor spent the entire match even just trying to take Morgan to the mat, but the TV champ always avoided it and countered with power moves. He eventually hit the Carbon Footprint, and then the Hellevator to win.
Winner via pinfall and still TNA Television Champion: Matt Morgan (3:32)

Morgan celebrated with his title to the back.

--Commercial Break--

Match 4: Sean Hernandez vs Amazing Red
Amazing Red bumping like crazy, and had some really awesome comebacks with his absurd moves. Hernandez went for the Spear, but Red jumped over AND HIT A REVERSE HURRICANRANA! HURRICANRANA DRIVER! ONE … TWO … THRE – Hernandez kicked out! Red went up top! INFRAR – NO! Hernandez moved! Red stumbled to his feet, and Hernandez killed him with a Spear to win.
Winner via pinfall: Sean Hernandez (95 – 0) (2:59)

Hernandez celebrated in the ring. He got on the mic and said that he’s heard murmurs backstage that Foley has problems with the way Hernandez does things, and told Foley that if he’s got a problem, to say it to his face.

The Young Bucks were in the back, and Max told Jeremy that they better win tonight.

--Commercial Break--

In the back, Collyer thanked Steamboat for teaming with him when he heard that Dux had picked Morley as his tag partner tonight.

Match 5: TJ Perkins/Scott Lost vs The Young Bucks
Despite a few minor miscommunications, Perkins and Lost continued to mesh better as a tag team. Still though, the Bucks are brothers, and they consistently outmaneuvered the heels when working together. They hit tons of double team stuff, and Taz said that these guys reminded him of MCMG, but Nash said that nobody compares to Alex Shelley. Anyway, Max got caught up top by Lost, who met him with a Superplex! He and Perkins took over with a good isolation segment, going for his back. They took turns beating him down, and then even hit some tandem moves! They tried a double suplex, but Max floated over and come off the ropes with a double dropkick! HOT TAG TO JEREMY! He came right in with a springboard clothesline to Lost, and then he nailed Perkins with a wheelbarrow facebuster! ONE … TWO … THRE – Perkins kicked out! Jeremy called in Max, and the two tried the MMMBop, but Lost ran over and tackled Max out of the way! Jeremy shoved Perkins aside and went after Lost, and clotheslined him to the outside! Max followed up with a corkscrew plancha, but Lost moved! On the inside, Jeremy tried a wheelbarrow to Perkins, but Perkins dropped him backwards with a suplex! Jeremy stumbled to his feet, right into the PUMA BUSTER! ONE … TWO … THREE!
Winners via pinfall: TJ Perkins/Scott Lost (7:03)

Perkins and Lost celebrated to the back, and Max Buck got in and looked furious at Jeremy, and he stormed to the back.

--Commercial Break--

Match 6: Chad Collyer/Ritchie Steamboat vs Tyson Dux/Sean Morley
Collyer and Steamboat ran stuff up front, but Dux dropkicked Steamboat in the middle of a Flying Crossbody to turn him inside out. The heels stretched him out and beat him down on the mat. Morley tried to end it with the Full Nelson Slam, but Steamboat scouted it, and countered with a jumping DDT! HOT TAG! Suplexes for everybody. He hit Morley with a Gutwrench Suplex, but Dux broke up the pin. Steamboat came in and took him out with a Springboard Flying Crossbody, allowing Collyer to hit Morley with the Everest German and get the three-count.
Winner via pinfall: Chad Collyer/Ritchie Steamboat (6:21)

Collyer and Steamboat celebrated in the ring to close the show. MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY~!

Commentary ran down the card: Consequences Creed vs Elijah Burke, Sabin vs Waltman, and Styles/Angle/Storm/Monty vs Cage/Young/Roode/Tomko in the main event.

Match 1: Chris Sabin vs Sean Waltman
This was built around the big contrast in Sabin doing tons of moves and stuff, against Waltman who skirted away from everything and pretty much exclusively worked rest holds. Sabin got really frustrated with it all and hit a couple big springboard strikes, but Waltman scouted a Sabin springboard crossbody, and countered midair with a spinning wheel kick! He started kicking Sabin around trying to end it, but when he went for the Comedown, Sabin spun through and kept rotating for a spinning enzuigiri! And he followed up with an STO! ONE … TWO … THR – Waltman kicked out! Sabin pulled him up and tried the Cradle Shock, but Waltman gouged at the eyes to get down. He tried the Syxx-Factor, but Sabin shoved him away and caught him off the ropes with the Cradle Shock! ONE … TWO … THREE!
Winner via pinfall: Chris Sabin (6:55)

Sabin celebrated in the ring, but Nash ran down to the ring! He climbed in, but Jacobs was right behind him! The teams faced off, but the heels backed down and returned up the ramp.

Backstage, Bryan Danielson went up to Collyer and Strong, and he apologized to Collyer and apologized for helping Young beat him last week, saying he was just trying to get closer to the ring and he didn’t mean to trip him. Collyer didn’t seem to accept the apology, but Danielson walked off anyway.

--Commercial Break--

Match 2: Chad Collyer/Roderick Strong vs Petey Williams/Tyson Dux w/ Bryan Danielson
Collyer and Strong showed their usual great offense together, dominating both guys on the mat, and then tossing them around some. Petey caught Strong with the POLISH HAMMER~, and they isolated him some, but he eventually caught Dux off the ropes with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker! He made the hot tag, and Collyer suplexed everybody, and Roddy came back in to give both guys a good series of backbreakers. Petey tried the POLISH HAMMER~ on Collyer, but he ducked, and Strong pulled down to the ropes to send him to the outside, and followed up with a plancha! Dux snuck up and tried a rollup on Collyer, but he held his weight and pulled him up with a GUTWRENCH SUPLEX! He pulled him up and tried the Everest German, but Dux grabbed the top rope. They struggled for a bit, and finally Dux pulled Collyer forward, and his head went through the ropes RIGHT WHERE BRYAN DANIELSON HAPPENED TO BE THROWING HIS ARMS UP IN EXCITEMENT! Collyer stumbled back, right into the NOTB Brainbuster, and Dux covered to win!
Winners via pinfall: Petey Williams/Tyson Dux (5:49)

Collyer turned around and saw what happened, and he was pissed. Petey and Tyson got out the ring and celebrated up. Danielson look sincerely sorry, and he tried to apologize to Collyer, but Team Canada made him come with them.

--Commercial Break--

Jay Lethal went to Booker T and said that Creed lost last week, and so now he knows he can lose to Bailout, and he’s really super nervous for his tag titles. Booker told him not to worry, but to focus on the X-Title.

Roode cut a promo on James Storm, calling him an inferior tag team wrestler. Lauren asked him about Monty Brown, and Roode said he wasn’t worth his time.

Commentary talked about the End of the Year Awards, and announced the nominees*. They said to go vote at www.tnawrestling.com, because the winners totally aren’t pre-determined or anything.

--Commercial Break--

Match 3: Consequences Creed w/ Booker T vs Elijah Burke w/ Davey Richards
Burke threw stiff strikes like Davey did last week, but they were not as good as his, so Creed was able to mount more offense. He actually kept Burke grounded for a bit, but he came back with decent elbows, and started targeting the head and neck. Stuff happened, and Burke missed a top-rope dropkick and Creed got a big head of steam. Davey snuck in a big slap, so Booker T ran over and attacked him on the floor! Burke shouted out at him, and turned around into Creed’s Somersault Clothesline! He went up top and came off with a Flying Clothesline! ONE … TWO … THRE – Burke kicked out! Creed pulled him up and tried the Fireman’s Carry Cutter, but Burke threw him off and hit a HUGE uppercut! BANKRUPT BOMB! ONE … TWO … THREE!
Winner via submission: Elijah Burke (7:03)

Burke celebrated up the ramp with Davey, and Creed looked crushed in the ring. Booker T got in and helped Creed up, and told him to keep his chin up.

Again, Lethal was watching backstage and looked worried.

Samoa Joe was pumping Low Ki up for his match next, and Ki seemed like he was going nuts.

--Commercial Break--

James Storm was interviewed by Lauren, and he said that Robert Roode can’t stand on his own ever, and he’ll show it by beating Roode one-on-one.

Everybody was banned from ringside.

Match 4: Low Ki vs Elix Skipper
Holy rape. Skipper got in three punches and two elbows in total. The rest was Ki hitting deadly strikes and running through all his signature stuff. He topped it all off with a Spinning Backfist, Ki Krusher, Ghetto Stomp, and the Dragon Clutch to get the tap out.
Winner via submission: Low Ki (2:58)

Low Ki kept the submission on until the ref pulled him off. At that point, he hit Skipper with the Ki Krusher! He went up top for the Ghetto Stomp, but the rest of The Enlightened ran down, BUT KI TOOK THEM ALL OUT WITH A FLYING CROSSBODY! Homicide and Samoa Joe ran out as well to bump the heels around, but they all ducked out of the ring before taking too much damage.

--Commercial Break--

Match 5: Abyss/Matt Morgan vs The Redcoats
Morgan and Abyss literally just tossed them around, but then Abyss made the mistake of running for more than 5 seconds, and he lost his breath. Williams brought him to the mat after some calculated kicks, and then he and Taylor wore him down. Abyss powered Taylor up and hit a big Chokeslam, then tagged in Morgan. Taylor got a Blueprint Crossbody, Williams ate the Carbon Footprint, and then Taylor got hit with the Hellevator to get Morgan to the three-count.
Winners via pinfall: Abyss/Matt Morgan (4:06)

Abyss and Morgan celebrated in the ring, and then Abyss challenged Morgan to a TV Title match. Morgan accepted, and they agreed upon the match for next week!

--Commercial Break--

Match 6: Jay Lethal/Ritchie Steamboat vs Alex Shelley/TJ Perkins w/ Rhino & Love
Lethal wanted Shelley at the start, but he got TJ instead. After a brief period of mat work between them, this quickly turned into a sprint with all four guys. Shelley tried to lock the Border City Stretch in on Lethal, but he tossed him away and hit a SUPERKICK! ONE … TWO … THRE – Perkins broke it up! He picked Lethal up, but Steamboat took Perkins out with a Springboard Crossbody! The ref forced those two guys out of the ring, and Shelley snuck in a low blow on Lethal, and rolled him up with tights! ONE … TWO … THRE – Lethal kicked out! Shelley yanked him up and tried the Shellshock, but Lethal spun through and hit the LETHAL COMBINATION! He jumped up top! Rhino tried to swipe at him, but Lethal already jumped off … LETHAL ELBOW! ONE … TWO … THREE!
Winners via pinfall: Jay Lethal/Ritchie Steamboat (6:04)

Lethal and Steamboat celebrated in the ring, and commentary put over the fact that Jay Lethal just pinned Alex Shelley again, something that doesn’t happen often to Shelley nowadays.

--Commercial Break--

A clip from last week played of Foley talking to Hernandez for Taylor, and Hernandez telling him to mind his own business.

Match 7: Sean Hernandez vs Ken Doane
Hernandez clobbered him some punches and a big Lariat, and then the Spear sent Doane right back to the indies.
Winner via pinfall: Sean Hernandez (97 – 0) (0:30)

Hernandez celebrated in the ring, BUT MICK FOLEY RAN DOWN AND ATTACKED HIM! He punched at him, but Hernandez Speared him! Foley pulled himself up and called Hernandez weak, SO HERNANDEZ SPEARED HIM AGAIN! Foley was gasping for air, but he called for a microphone. He told Hernandez that this was now his business, and dared him to pin Foley in a match, so Hernandez said he would at Genesis.

--Commercial Break--

Match 8: AJ Styles/Kurt Angle/James Storm/Monty Brown vs Team Canada [Cage/Roode/Young/Tomko]
Roode wanted at Styles, Monty and Roode wanted at Roode, Angle wanted at Christian and Young, and Tomko didn’t look motivated. Everybody got good time, and it led into a dive train topped off by a …… STORM PLANCHA~!

--Commercial Break--

Storm was isolated for a bit, but he quickly came back with big punches for everybody, and a Powerbomb on Young! Styles cleaned house with his high-flying, and then Angle came in with suplexes for everybody. He got off the Olympic Slam on Christian, but then turned into TEH BEWT~! He got isolated for a much longer period. Young took his time picking him apart, but then Roode wanted in and shouted, “HEY EVERYBODY REMEMBER WHEN I PINNED THIS GUY AT BOUND FOR GLORY?!†He beat him around some, but when Roode tried the Double R Spinebuster, ANGLE COUNTERED WITH A DDT! HOT TAG TO MONTY! He came right in and killed Roode with big punches, then a series of Sting-esque military presses! He tried the Alpha Lariat, but Roode ducked and JUST made the tag to Tomko! They two big men threw strikes, but Monty got the better and HE HIT THE ALPHA LARIAT! ONE … TWO … THRE – Cage broke it up! Everybody rushed the ring and shit broke down and everybody just started tossing everybody around. Styles ended up the legal man, and he tried the Phenomenal DDT on Tomko, but this time he scouted it and tossed him forward into an UNPRETTIER FROM CHRISTIAN! Tomko covered! ONE … TWO … THRE – Angle pulled him off! He tried another Olympic Slam on Cage, but he rolled through this one and hit his Falling Reverse Neckbreaker! Alex Shelley arrived with his posse in the back, and ★★★★ ran up and asked where the hell he’d been. Shelley said to calm down, because there was still like an hour and a half until the main event, but ★★★★ told him that his match was on after the next. Shelley asked why the hell the X-Division Championship match was on before AJ Styles vs Christian Cage in not-2007, and ★★★★ said that if he could change it , he would, but he can’t.

Commentary talked about Roode and Storm’s past history, along with more recently Roode having taken Chris Harris out with a neck injury.

Basic brawl between these two. It started in the ring, but it grew in intensity until it spill to the outside. Joe, Ki, and ‘Cide were in the back. Joe said that the Enlightened have been nothing but a thorn in his side, and tonight it ends. He said that TNA has always overlooked Homicide and Low Ki, and he himself has always been pushed to the side whenever a new group comes around—first the Christian Coalition, then the Angle Alliance, then the Main Event Mafia, then Planet Jarrett, and now Team Canada and the Enlightened on the fringe. He said that he and his ass-kicking buds have finally teamed up, and their going to DELIVER SOME PAIN~ to anybody who gets in their way to the top of the company.

A big video package of the Enlightened vs WMD feud played.

Match 7: Christopher Daniels/Ravarian vs Samoa Joe/Low Ki/Homicide
Everybody except Frankie Kazarian got equal amounts of time, so this was as good as it could be. Low Ki especially looked really strong, and he and Daniels ended up against each other several times. The end came when Homicide and Low Ki hit Daniels with the ridiculously dangerous Ghetto Stomp/Gringo Killer Combination. They then took out Ravarian on the floor with stereo planchas, leaving Joe to lock the Coquina Clutch in on Daniels, and he tapped!
Winners via pinfall: Samoa Joe/Low Ki/Homicide (15:55)

The faces celebrated in the ring, and commentary put over that this was the third month in a row that Samoa Joe pinned Christopher Daniels, and that he must clearly be declared the decisive winner in their feud.

AJ Styles finished lacing up his boots, took a deep breath, and headed for the curtain.

A Team Canada video played, along with Christian Cage’s sketchy means to get into this title match, and Styles being dragged into a battle with them.

Match 8: AJ Styles[c] vs Christian Cage [TNA World Championship]
This pretty much happened. The story here was that they both knew each other’s stuff, which was pretty much already established at last year’s Bound For Glory. This was largely AJ dominating and looking really strong, though some of Christian’s CUNNING~ antics came through and he had some offense. Styles won with the Styles Clash, in a continuing effort to rebuild the legitimacy of finishers.
Winner via pinfall and still TNA World Champion: AJ Styles (12:00)

AJ Styles celebrated with his world title to close the show.

Los Infernales double teamed up for a bit and set him up for the Spanish Fly, but Jeremy snuck in and … PUNCHED OUT THE REF FROM BEHIND?! The show started with Interim GM Scott Steiner in the middle or the ring. He said that TNA should be proud for having such a strong 2010, and he was honored to help make 2011 an even better one. He called AJ Styles out to the ring, and first congratulated him on a good title defense on Sunday. He said that in his time here in TNA, he’s seen Styles face and beat all the established names: Kurt Angle, Jeff Jarrett, Sting (pop!), Samoa Joe, Christian Cage, and then some. Styles agreed. Steiner said that he wanted to start the year off right, and proposed a #1 Contenders Tournament featuring eight guys who had never held the TNA Championship before, with the winner facing AJ for the title at Against All Odds! Styles said he thought it’d be a great idea, and asked who would be in the tournament. Steiner said that the participants would be told privately, and they would came out for the matches as a surprise. And the tournament starts TONIGHT!

Commentary reacted to the news and said that the first tournament match was after the break!

--Commercial Break--

Robert Roode came out first to nobody’s surprise, and his opponent was Jay Lethal! Commentary put over his terrific showing on Sunday against Shelley, and said that this could be a great opportunity for him.

Match 1: Robert Roode vs Jay Lethal [#1 Contenders Tournament]
They went to the mat a bit to feel each other out, and Lethal did a good job of protecting his arm that Lethal worked on Sunday. But when Roode used a hammerlock that effected Lethal more than it should have, Roode saw that he had an opportunity, and he went after the arm like a boss. Lethal used his usual craftiness to work around it with kicks and Savage-esque headbutts, and he eventually used a Jericho Triangle Springboard Dropkick to send him to the outside! He measured Roode up and ran across the ropes with SUICIDE DIVE!!! Using his good arm for the brunt of the attack, of course.

--Commercial Break--

Lethal kept up his fast-paced offense, until Roode got him with the Double R Spinebuster! He targeted the neck, while continuing to go after the arm when he had to keep him contained. Still, Lethal managed to fly around to get some offense in and throw Roode off. He sent Roode into the corner with a headscissors, and then followed up with running knee, and finally a bulldog to the middle of the ring! ONE … TWO … THR – Roode kicked out! Lethal pulled him up and tried the Lethal Combination, but Roode yanked at his bad arm, and then hit a snap DDT! ONE … TWO … THRE – Lethal kicked out! Roode kicked at his neck, then pulled him up for the Payoff, but Lethal spun through and HIT THE LETHAL COMBINATION! Lethal held at his arm in pain, but instead of the cover, he crawled over to the corner and climbed up. But Roode was up and he crotched Lethal at the top! They traded blows for a bit, but Roode got some good clubs to the arm, and then a couple elbows to the skull, and pulled Lethal up AND HIT A SUPERPLEX! ONE … TWO … THRE – LETHAL KICKED OUT! Roode threw a fit, but eventually pulled Lethal up for the Payo – NO! INSIDE CRADLE! ONE … TWO … THRE – Roode got out! Lethal tried a big right hand, but Roode ducked and ran off the ropes for the NORTHERN LARIAT! He pulled Lethal up and hit the PAYOFF and covered, ONE … TWO … THREE!
Winner via pinfall: Robert Roode (14:47)

Roode celebrated in the ring and motioned for the title. Meanwhile, Booker T and Consequences Creed continued brawling with Petey and Dux on the floor.

Matt Morgan was in the back with Abyss, and said that if he hadn’t agreed to a TV Title match this week, he would be in tonight’s tournament. Morgan stormed off, and Abyss just shook his head.

--Commercial Break--

Match 2: Matt Morgan[c] vs Abyss [TNA Television Championship]
Well this was a match. Lots of clubbering, dueling attempted chokeslams, and whatnot. Morgan got his chokeslam off first, and then hit the Carbon Footprint. He went to cover, but picked up Abyss instead, AND HE GOT UP HIM FOR THE HELLEVATOR! ONE … TWO … THREE!
Winner via pinfall and still TNA Television Champion: Matt Morgan (5:56)

Morgan celebrated to the back.

--Commercial Break--

Alex Shelley found Lauren backstage and demanded mic time. He said he knew it was supposed to be a surprise, but he just found out that he was in the #1 Contenders Tournament tonight, against Homicide. He said this would be no sweat, considering he’s already beaten Homicide as X-Division Champion anyway. He said that he was going to win this tournament, then beat AJ Styles, and hold on to both titles, and prove that the X-Division Championship was in fact superior to the TNA Championship.

Christian Cage arrived backstage, and he was not happy. He said that Sunday was bullshit, and this tournament is bullshit too. He told unloaded on Young and Danielson for losing to Angle and Collyer and throwing him off at Genesis, and they took it. He finished and stormed off, and Danielson burst into laughing, and EY just glared at him.

Chris Sabin & Jimmy Jacobs were in the back, and said they were prepared to establish themselves in the tag team division, and said that they’d have a match on Xplosion this week again.

--Commercial Break--

GM Steiner came out and sent Rhino and Love to the back.

Match 3: Alex Shelley vs Homicide [Non-Title] [#1 Contenders Tournament]
They had a mat exchange to begin, and it grew in intensity as it went on. They started trading back neck work, and Shelley tried to lock in the Border City Stretch early, but Homicide got him into a cradle! ONE … TWO … THREE!

--Commercial Break--

Hernandez was in the back and said that he still hadn’t heard that he had a match tonight, and warned that if he wasn’t in this tournament, there would be hell to pay this Saturday on Xplosion.

Commentary announced that next week Robert Roode would face the winner of this match, and Homicide would face the winner of the main event!

Backstage, AJ Styles cut a promo, first of all saying he was proud to be the 2010 Wrestling of the Year, and then by saying that he would continue representing TNA by being the best in the world. He said he’d be proud to defend his title against whoever wins this tournament.

--Commercial Break--

Before the match, James Storm said it was an honor that he and Chris Harris were named TNA tag team of the year for the second year in a row, but then Roode went and took Harris out. He said that he was going to dedicate his match to Harris, whoever his opponent was. And it was … Monty Brown. Oh shit.

Match 4: Monty Brown vs James Storm [#1 Contenders Tournament]
After a brief segment of vying for control, Storm upped the speed. Monty surprised him by keeping up for the most part, and really caught him off guard with his Jumping Shoulderblock! He started bumping Storm around, but he ducked under an Alpha Lariat and came off the ropes with a clothesline. Monty reeled in place, but to strike over and over just to get Monty down to a knee. He came off the ropes one last time, but Monty hit a Snap Powerslam! ONE … TWO … TH – Storm kicked out! Monty pulled him up and tried the POUNCE~, but Storm slid to the outside. Monty followed him out, but Storm tackled him into the ring post. He rushed back into the ring and came off to take Monty out with a STORM PLANCHA~!

--Commercial Break--

Storm kept trying to break Monty down in the ring, but he never went all the way to the mat. He kept tossing around Storm like he was a lightweight, and so Storm had to respond with relatively high-flying stuff like dropkicks, enzuigiris, and HOLY SHIT STORM JUST DID A HURRICANRANA! He got on a good roll, and after a bunch of clotheslines, Monty went down to a knee. Storm bounced off the ropes and came back with a BASEMENT SUPERKICK! ONE … TWO … THRE – MONTY KICKED OUT! --Commercial Break--

Backstage, Roode approached Monty, and it was awkward. He said that he forgave Monty for getting violent, but was happy that Monty would lay down for him next week and let him proceed through the tournament. Monty just stared at him. HA HA HA OH BOY YOU THINK I’MMA LET YO DIRTY ASS MAPLE SYRUP BITCH MOUTH TELL ME TO SIT DOWN AND LET YOU PIN DA DONKEY WHO KICKED YO ASS BOY I’MMA STOMP YA HEAD LIKE A ZEBRA STOMPIN A HEAD AND I’MMA KICK YA TEETH LIKE A JEE-RAFF KICKING A TREE STUMP. Alex Shelley was freaking out in the back, and Homicide walked up and gloated. Shelley was fuming, AND HE ATTACKED HOMICIDE! They brawled until officials pulled them apart.

Christopher Daniels came out first for his match. And his opponent was … LOW KI!

Match 5: Low Ki over Christopher Daniels in a #1 Contender’s Tournament match after hitting the Ghetto Stomp, and then making him tap to the Dragon Clutch. It happened at 29:24 with a couple commercial breaks in there, which I am not going to write out.

Low Ki pulled himself and celebrated in the ring! He signaled for the title, AND CAN A BOYHOOD DREAM COME TRUE?!

NEXT WEEK: Robert Roode vs Monty Brown and Homicide vs Low Ki!
