If it's a fake claim, he came up with it pretty quick. If it's his real role, it doesn't tell us a lot as it can be either alignment.

I probably would claim immediately as well if someone pitted me in a duel with them, just because I expect most players not to fake it.

It’s a meta read based on Barry’s previous reluctance to claim previously.

I understand your point re: quick to claim. I don’t think it’s beyond the realm of possibility that Barry could be an investigative scum role and watcher is a fakeable claim.

I disagree about claiming immediately, the duel wasn’t even confirmed. Nor as my pal (are we pals?) @Tweet pointed out - it isn’t a guaranteed kill on Barry. So why the anger or panic?

I look God awful on this duel, I don’t think it’s a natural town reaction, nor does it track with town Barry who I think would hit me with a heston and be patronising about how wrong I apparently am (in a fun way ofc)

To add to that last paragraph as I’m a blueberry who sent too early - I look god awful on this duel. I don’t see scum being flapped by it like Barry appears to be.

No, it is not more bold to fake info as scum than it is to fake info as town.

Scum you are working with a team and are faking for a logical reason.

When Flay fakes its because "lol i think person x is scum so let me get them lynched by faking info and if they're town then woops"

Faking information as scum is the name of the game though. God knows I've been a victim of town Flay faking info.

It's not *bold* to fake info as scum. It's a calculated move that has inherent risk.

Town Flay would happily bury another player with fake information just to continue his agenda and not even blink twice about it. Essentially, Scum Flay is far more often telling the truth while Town Flay will inherently lie to push narratives and get his man.

As I mentioned yesterday, there isn't a reason to have Blaine as town, but Rugrat definitely feels scummy to me so that could help my read on the lad.

Why are you reading Blaine town off so little? There's literally zero reason to be reading him town, at all. role soft or not, Blaine does that as either alignment.
