hello

I am kinda new here , so pardon me if there are posts with same subject .

In my opinion . Fight Club is one of the most intelligent , clever , dark movie with an ending which will turn you upside down . But the main thing which sticks out is its message . It shows the truth of our materialistic society which blindly follow what we are told too .

Anyway thats my opinion . What do you y'll think . ;)

Children of the Corn 5: Fields of Terror.

You said that no one agrees with so I went with this. I know tons of people that love Fight Club. I could have went with the first Children of the Corn but decided to dig deeper.

there is a reason , they call fight club a " a cult classic ".

A lot of people like it . But dont really consider it as one of the best of all time

American Beauty. I think it's one of the top 5 films ever made. Most people agree with me that it's a great film, but that it's not even top 20.

1. The flaw with Fight Club is with the twist, maybe it works better in the novel, but it is just much to buy in the film. But yeah I think it is a great film, just such a radical piece of filmmaking.

2. Everyone loves Die Hard, so I don't get that one?

3. Slumdog is def overated, the other two also, but maybe less so.

American Beauty is a wonderful film, not least because it was the directors debut (doubt he will ever better it), however top five best ever it isn't.

How is Slumdog overrated when most people seem to hate it?

I got Children of The Corn 1 (for free) but have yet to see it. Stephen King movies are usually shit (apart from Stand By Me), so I'm not expecting greatness.

I guess I'll go for Constantine. The hatred for Keanu Reeves is just too much for most people, but I just see a brilliant film.

That doesn't really work as a counter agruement because clearly I don't think that most people hate it, you have to back up your claim. From my point of view, it swept the board at the 2009 Oscars, was a big box office hit and a lot of people who have not seen Danny Boyle's smaller movies see it as a great feel good movie. I think it is another one like the Dark Knight where it was always going to be impossible to live up to the hype, TDK is a better film mind.

Lost In Translation is the ultimate marmite movie.

Some critics swear by it, others think it's a turd with a cheap ending.

A lot of non-critics I've come across bash Slumdog as predictable, not that good, cheesy, etc...

I guess it comes down to opinion. I've watched most Danny Boyle movies and the only one I didn't like was 127 Hours, because I felt it was showy and lacked substance. Trainspotting is among my favourite movies to this day, and The Beach wasn't half bad either. I also liked what I've seen of Shallow Grave.

The beach actually wasn't that bad. I kinda enjoyed it. Not one that I'd pick up off the shelf and watch all the time... but it is a different movie.

For me... hmmmm

Xmen 3... for me it ranks up there cause it was just actiony :D
I would also agree with American Beauty... I liked it.
Not sure what else coming to mind at the moment.
