I think the major thing is that, and perhaps I'm speaking out of turn/for others, is that generally people REALLY don't want politics involved in their wrestling. As I said in my OP it felt a lot more like a political speech with crocodile tears than it did a promo about a dude who just sucker punch you in the poopguts.
