I've watched the guy since FCW. I have no problems with Roman the guy in general. It's how he is being jet rocketed to the top. I as a wrestling fan want that organic growth. The best thing in my mind is a guy going from tag team, to mid card to main event. I like that journey.

Roman is a fine enough worker, that has never been an issue. His talking could be better, but it could be much worse as well.
But I personally ain't feeling the current booking or direction of the guy or how he has been handled post shield. Despite his accomplishments I don't feel like he has grown as a character that much since the Shield ended.

That he'll be a top guy I have never doubted, but I just ain't sure what's in store will work. If he proves me wrong I'll gladly eat the crow.
I know this is completely off topic, but given your above statement about moving up through the ranks I'm curious - how do you feel about how they handled Owens in NXT so far? I was surprised they agreed to give him a title shot already.

WWE can't book their shows trying to pander to smarks. It won't work, because once you give smarks what they want they will change their fickle little tunes. If you turn Reigns, suddenly they cheer for him. Fuck em lol. Super Reigns to be boo'd out of the building. book it.

Worst thing that ever happened was it came out DB was entered into ME because of fans. Now fans have that sense of entitlement, and think they will get their way.

Personally im on board for a DB zig fued. I want it to go to mania and be an ironman match. These two can do it, steal the show. Zig can even get the W. Give him something at Mania because now that Bryan got his last year. No one has been shit on more at Mania than Zig, given his talent, work, reactions.

You are essentially agreeing with what I said then, no? If, in your eyes, Reigns weren't being "overpushed" you'd be thrilled to root for the guy. But because of booking, you turn on him.
I think I have been clear on that since this entire argument started. That I am fine with Reigns, but I don't like the booking or that he is built up enough. Hence my "not ready" statement. I want him to have a solid run in the midcard before moving on up.

I know this is completely off topic, but given your above statement about moving up through the ranks I'm curious - how do you feel about how they handled Owens in NXT so far? I was surprised they agreed to give him a title shot already.
I was against Steen going into feuding with Zayn from the word go since he signed.

I'm just going to take this thread back a bit. But lets say that Daniel Bryan won the Rumble match, would you have him beat Brock Lesnar?

I just don't know if I could bring myself to believe he could. I mean if they booked it that way sure. But would I find it that believable. Not really. Now if it was a triple threat or a fatal 4 way - sure, I could see that maybe. Given the way the triple threat went at RR it would be a nail biter though.

That's the thing. If they made it a triple threat, it would be a stupid move. Why build a beast to make him lose in a triple threat match? If you're going to make a star, here's your chance in a singles match.
Bray is overweight but he uses it well. Mankind was called fat too, spoke well, and reminds me of Bray. Obviously Mick has that hardcore edge that separates him.
Yeah, but I have no interest in seeing him face The Undertaker. More importantly I don't want him to be 21-2 with Bray Wyatt of all people on this list.

^That's really it, D'Z. There's really no Roman Reigns hate, he's sadly become symbolic of WWE's booking.

He's a symbol of the WWE Front Office thinking they know better than the fans. He's a symbol of Vince thinking 1980's booking still works in 2013. He's the clear "chosen one"... and that's the last thing a fanbase who know has a reason to believe that their voice matters wants to hear. Joe Anoa'i is just an innocent bystander in the whole charade.

Shoot, WWE wrote an entire storyline about this very thing, it's called The Authority. They screwed Bryan out of the title to give the title to the hand-picked "chosen one", Randy Orton, because he looks good on billboards and draws and "they know more than the fans do". And it really did work to perfection in the end, it got Daniel Bryan and Triple H insanely over. Don't see why they're clearly doing it in real life while the fans see right through it, that was why the angle worked and this doesn't.

So much of it is adversity, kayfabe or otherwise. Fans love an underdog. That's why Daniel Bryan is so over - he's fun to watch, but he's spent the last year with a legit injury losing the title that he and the fans worked so hard to obtain. Then he comes back and has a ready-made redemption story. See also: Dolph Ziggler, who just got screwed over by the Authority on top of all the times he's delivered in the ring and got jack shit to show for it. With Roman Reigns, he comes back from a hernia and says "I'm winning the Rumble, buhlee dat". Where's the story? Where's the emotional investment? It's what makes this whole thing so see-through. (which is sad since we all called this in June and were happy with the idea then)

There's the matches and promos factor, but really, that should be easily correctable. Shit we saw Brock hit 187 suplexes and we all loved it, why should Reigns be criticized for his "3 moves"? And his promos usually ooze coolness and the "it factor" you talked about. It's not like this dude is Lex Luger at all, the guy's one hell of an athlete and has SO MUCH going for him.

Taker should fuck off. I don't think anyone wants to see him wrestle anybody
