I actually don't think he's a great worker either, at least, he hasn't shown to be one in AEW. I can't really think of a single HOLY SHIT moment in the ring with him. Maybe he wasn't trying hard but ya, I don't think he's ultimately a great fit for AEW

To be fair on two fronts, I do think he softened his approach in AEW, but I will be honest upfront and say I don’t think Mirro was ever like a Takeshita style performer. For me, if I’m drawn into your character, I just need to just not suck in the ring and I’m perfectly fine with your work. He tells a good story usually in his matches and that’s what gets me through.

U could make like 2 indie feds of released aew n wwe guys really, it's wild. But then there's injuries etc. Tough balance to keep. I do think aew could let go of like 10+ dudes tho. I'd prob keep all the ladies tho

No kidding. NWA especially is hard-up for quality talent, and having a guy even like Tony Nese would be a huge get for them.

I agree that he should’ve gone over Cena…

But then what?

How does he evolve from being that Anti-American until an American beats him?

It’s like the Rocky series. The only way the Ivan Drago character evolved later down the line is cause Rocky humbled him.

If you had an underdog American, who also was an up-and-coming star that finally beats him, I think you put over that kid over and I don’t think that kills his heat in the same way that Cena beating him did.

As for evolution, you just slowly start adding more elements to his character that isn’t just Russian bad guy.

I mean Wardlow isn't winning the world title, has nothing to do with Cole neutering him. And I'd push Cole over Wardlow every day of the week.

What I think is going to happen is MJF is gonna cost Wardlow to kickstart the feud again.

I really don't think Wardlow is winning the world title when in a faction with Cole. Also, him winning the world title would not be good for him at all, he would be extremely exposed.

Wasn’t it Santana that said they were supposed to win at the belts at some point ?

He might’ve. I don’t think I specifically heard that story but like if you hear the way, he talks about it and then Konnan who is very close to Santana has also spoken on this, but it’s basically confirmed that he got disillusion that him and Ortiz were ever going to win the tag titles so he wanted him and Ortiz to leave but Ortiz said no I got a family and I’m getting a good paycheck. That’s honestly rather unfortunate how fast things fracture a relationship.

Jeff also mentioned his drinking and that probably played a role.

I low key wish Ricky Starks stayed in NWA back in 2020, but I totally get why he went to AEW and he's arguably better off for it.
