Just curious if anyone on this board is a fan of heavier music and if so, what bands? I have a lot of different bands that I like but the main ones are Motionless in White, Of Mice & Men, Miss May I, Woe Is Me, Eskimo Callboy, and That's Outrageous!

I'm actually a vocalist myself for music such as this as well.

Heaviest I listen to is Children of Bodom. That's about it, Slipknot, Soulfly. Not a whole lot of other stuff though.

Even though my first choice of music is hip-hop, I still have a soft spot for bands like Cannibal Corpse, Slayer, Napalm Death. Children of Bodem, Gojira and such. Still loved me some KoRn and bands like that during the time. Even will admit, I thought Limb Bizkit was the shit.

I'm big into Metal music, like the whole spectrum from Power Metal (Blind Guardian, Stratovarius, Manowar, Sabaton, Nightwish) to Black Metal (Immortal, Enslaved, Emperor, Burzum). Not the biggest fan of the new 'heavy' music like Avenged Sevenfold, Killswtich Engage, BMTH and the like, just not my cup of tea personally but each to their own.

Never heard of Eskimo Callboy, but I have of the rest. I used to listen to Motionless In White and Miss May I but I was never that into them, so I deleted them. As for the other three, love them! Just saw Of Mice & Men for the second time a few weeks ago at Soundwave, saw Woe Is Me for the first time that week as well, and I like that That's Outrageous' new album is much heavier. I thought their first album was alright, but the second is much, much better.

I have no variety to what I listen to. My entire iTunes library is all Metalcore/Post Hardcore/Screamo/Hardcore. I don't listen to any Deathcore or Metal or anything along the lines as it's not my cup of tea. I'm pretty proud of my collection, as lame as that may sound. I'm nearing 1200 songs and 90-95% of it is above 20 plays. There's nothing on there that I neglect, which generally most people do with their music. They have this massive collection of songs, but only listen to a bit of it while the rest sits there and they claim they like that band. Anyway, here's every band I listen to:

Abandon All Ships
Adestria
Advocates
The Amity Affliction
Architects
Asking Alexandria
At The Skylines
Attack Attack!
August Burns Red
Beartooth
Blessthefall
Break Even

I am honestly all over the map with my music. Korn, KMFDM, Rammestein, Ministry, Human Factors Lab, Combichrist, & Wumpscut are just some of the heavier bands I own cd's for.

Heaviest band I'm into is probably Heaven Shall Burn. Big fan of bands like Shadows Fall, Machine Head, Killswitch Engage, etc. but I need some melody in my metal, nothing but guttural screams doesn't do it for me. More into Tool and Deftones almost exclusively these days, i don't think Koi No Yokan has left my car stereo for a couple weeks now.

Awesome to see and hear that there are some fans on the board. Aniking, I remember our brief talk about this back on PWMania haha. I do like some Killswitch Engage. I'm not a huuuuge fan but I appreciate what the guys have done and continue to do. Actually both guitarists in my band are mainly influenced by them. I too can't stand completely guttural vocals. To me music has to have catchy/melodic instrumentals, meaningful lyrics, and emotionally charged vocals to catch my attention. I'm always a sucker for some hard-hitting angry songs though. Old school, and pure metal bands actually don't appeal to me.

Too many faggy emo bands with Zac Efron clone lead singers ITT.

Listen to Zuul FX - Cabal, then come at me bro.

Typical douchebag music fan - if it's not what they like, you're doing it wrong.

Meh I'm not going to call him a douche. I listened to the song and it was heavy for its time but it doesn't hold a candle to the aggression found in the bands that Efron fronts these days. Music evolved. If I want to listen to music similar to what you suggested, I'd just pop in my "Come Clarity" album from In Flames. That or Soilwork. To each their own.

Can't hold a candle to the aggression of today's bands?, sure about that, here's a band from the 80's being more aggressive today than most of these core bands are.

Also, Bullet for My Valentine are a whole different kind of awful.
