Can Punk even perform as a convincing good guy?. He's known for his sarcastic wit - as seabs pointed out - and he relies too heavily on it. He wouldn't portray a good guy convincingly. At least in the way Deathbane imagines.

He doesn't need to. He can get over as fuck just being a douche but not offending the crowd or their favourites whilst doing so. (see summer)

Could Bryan be the top face? Some will say his size holds him back too much others will say his ability will carry him, let's hear the opinions folks.

He could never be the top face of the company. As much as some say size doesn't matter, it does to an extent. He could compete for the WHC as the #2 guy in the company, but I don't see him being booked in that regard for too long either. I personally wouldn't mind Bryan in the IC or US Title scene.

As for the point about Cena doing a character change instead of a heel turn - in what way can he even change up his character? He pretty plays himself at this point. The only thing you can really ask of him is to stop being corny but that's WWE watering him down to appeal to the kids. He doesn't need an entire gimmick change to become serious and 'adult.' I personally would rather Cena retire than turn heel or change his character.

Nope, not too late.

The ''WWE Universe'' will still be shocked..

But it's not the time imo. WWE has many heels walking around atm. Cena as a heel as well wouldn't be good.
But in the future, hell yeah!

Agreed. I never saw him as a ''face''.

Even when he was a face, he was trying a little too hard to be good that it wasn't even believable.

Same goes with his current heel run, he's trying to be bad a little too much.. Your city sucks, your people suck, etc..

Same old story.

Agreed. If booked properly Punk could be a great anti-hero face, but he turned into generic smiley guy who cuts jokes on his last face run and became stale. WWE just do not know how to book a face imo.

They know how to book a face, we just aren't the target they're booking them for (Punk being madly over as an example, same with Orton)

Orton and Punk were madly over whilst still acting as heels. It was not their intention to turn any of them faces imo. Maybe they intended Punk, but they didn't intend to turn Orton.

Whilst this is true they retained that overness, if they didn't know how to book a face they'd lose it, wouldn't they? Don't get me wrong I dislike the booking of most faces but the fact the main audience eats it up means they can book a face, right?

I think it's more a case of those guys having a hardcore fanbase who are willing to cheer them whatever. Punk pretty much has to resort to cheap heat all the time these days as even after all he has done he still gets pops when his music hits, he can do pretty much anything and still get outrageous pops.

But if they couldn't book a face those pops would go no matter what, imagine if they put Punk on superstars and gave him no mic time would he still get big pops?

As of right now? Yes. He's over enough to get by with just his in ring work. A guy like DB still needs mic time to get over with the casuals though.

So you honestly believe if Punk was never mentioned he'd still be as over as he is now? I'm talking being on superstars and that's it.

For a short while. Not forever. For example If he had to rehab his injury with some squash matches on Superstars for a month, he could sustain his "overness" IMO.
