Forbes Magazine REALLY doesn't like Michigan, Illinois, and Ohio. I wasn't surprised at all that Detroit was #1. I guessed it immediately before I even started scrolling through the list. I was actually surprised Cleveland wasn't in the Top 10. It seems like everyone I've ever met from there wanted out.

Only 1 New Jersey entry? Surprising. I lived near Gary, Indiana for a few years and it looks like Sarajevo did in 1994. It looks post-Apocalyptic. Literally. They filmed segments of "Life After People" there, for fook's sake!

And there's California entries? That's a shocker. California is supposed to be some paradise where even the poor drive Infinity brand cars and snort pure cocaine with $10 bills.

Well New York, New York was a suprise to me, maybe if this was the 70s, but now I don't really see it. Never been to any of the other cities so can't comment but the Detriot one is lazy.

My friend's band has played in Poughkeepsie a lot of times so I've been there. It's pretty fucking bad.

Had to type it in on Google Maps. Never even heard of it before I read this.

I'm actually surprised Oklahoma didn't make the list. Any place there, really.

New York City is pretty awesome, but I agree with the reasoning for why it's on this list. Visiting is one thing, but dealing with those taxes and that congestion all day every day would wear thin.

Yeah I agree, I've never had a bad experience visiting NYC and I knew what I was getting into before I went there, but that was the beauty of it. But if I actually lived there and couldn't turn it off, I would imagine it gets pretty tiresome.

The traffic in Atlanta definitely sucks badly. Very badly.
