WE'RE BACK

WWF World Champion: Hulk Hogan-23/1/84
WWF Intercontinental Champion: Tito Santana-6/7/85
WWF Tag Team Champions: The Dream Team-24/8/85

WWF Championship Wrestling
January 4th, 1986
Poughkeepsie, NY

Match#1 Cousin Luke & Hillbilly Jim vs Spot & Al Navarro

Nice to see 86 kicking us off with some nonsense. Fine enough showcase with some good strikes and funny moments from Luke, and Jim is looking better after his leg break a year ago. Jim wins with the Bearhug.
*3/4

WWF Update-
-Hulk Hogan's Rock N Wrestling is a hit and you should watch it, or else.

Match#2 Hercules Hernadez w/Freddie Blassie vs Jeff Cripley
One of the best jobber names in history, folks. Horrible squash from the big idiot as a week away hasn't made him good, nor does it make me want to like him. The highlight is Blassie yelling and shouting that Cripley is a bum who makes 200 bucks a week. Herc does a lot of slams and bad strikes to fill time, and it's not fun at all. He wins with the Torture Rack.
1/2*

Mean Gene-
-Tito vs Savage for the IC title.
-Randy walks on and says people will be nice to him now that he's close to the title. Lot of history in the Boston Gardens, but they're not as good as him. Randy says Gene is as good as Tito Santana, and he knows they've been talking and he shouldn't trust him. Tito is going to lose the title where Larry Bird plays and loses basketball. All the ladies think about him day and night, ohhhhhh yeah.

VOTE FOR THE SLAMMYS.

Match#3 The Killer Bees vs Barry O & Rick Jacobs
Sting Yeah!!! Sadly only 90 seconds this week because life is not giving honey, but still fun times as always. Assisted dropkick does it.
*1/2

In a pre-tape, we go to Piper and Ace. Piper says he doesn't drink wine like these Italians. Orndorff has never had a thought in his brain, and Bruno is too old and dumb to think. Last time they beat up half the town of Boston, and they'll do it again. He loves his bodyguard Ace and he'll be there for him at all times. Get a bottle of thunderbird and have a good night.

Match#4 Randy Savage w/Miss Elizabeth vs Don Driggers
The crowd adores Liz as they should, so Randy gets madder and madder at them and boots her from the ring. Awesome squash for Randy as he murders Driggers for his dumb name, and just being alive in his presence. Vince announces that Randy is facing Animal Steele soon and he'll be put to the test. Goddamn it, no. Elbow Drop does it.
**

Piper's Pit with Fabulous Moolah. He praises her as the best ladies wrestler ever and the prettiest he's ever seen. He talks about women wrestlers not learning in school with different body parts, and he wants to know how she protects herself. Moolah says she does it well. Piper says he wants to thank her the Scottish way, so he kisses her to close it.

Match#5 Corp Krichner vs Gino Carobello
Bad stuff from Corp K as normal. Samoan Drop that needs a name does it.
Poop

Match#6 The Dream Team vs Tony Stetson & Paul Dose

Future ECW hitman Tony S debuts in a cool moment. Dream Team get the show and year back on track with a sick murder of some kids. Awesome suplexes and strikes from Brutus, and Hammer is the best as always. Figure Four does the job.
**

Mean Gene-
-JYD will be teaming with Corp K against Sheik and Nik
-JYD has a real good partner and he can't go wrong with a bone.
-Blassie and Sheik are up next and they say JYD has bit off more than he can chew. Sheik is going to fuck and humble

MLW is rebranded All Star Wrestling and will be our new B show until Challenge debuts and takes its place in September.

File is only 13 minutes, but we must watch it all.

Match#1 Randy Savage w/Miss Elizabeth vs Terry Gibbs
Randy mauls the kid in incredible fashion, and the true benefit of B shows is getting more Savage matches to behold. Randy hits a nasty knee right to the back and kills the kid with all his offence and finishes him with the Elbow.
**

They replay the Savage interview.

Match#2 British Bulldogs w/Lou Albano vs Johnny K9 & Mr X
3 Minutes of the dogs belting the shit out of some goons with a flurry of kick ass offence. DK wins with a wicked super backdrop.

WWF SATURDAY'S NIGHT MAIN EVENT
JANUARY 4TH, 1986
TAMPA, FLORIDA
USF SUN DOME

-
Hulk Hogan is making drinks out of eggs and supplements to get ready for that no good rattlesnake Terry Funk.
-Its his python drink and Gene is not allowed to give Funk the recipe
-Piper watches the hillbillies swim in the pool and says they're taking their year bath.

Jesse walks on to commentary and says he's going to be the first commentator who is going to back up his words and get back in the ring to show everyone how good he is. He brigs on Bobby Heenan as his replacement. WOOOOOOOOOO GOD YES.

-In the aisle, Gene is with Piper and Ace.
-Piper says they eat pants and play the banjo, and they've got no idea what they've gotten themselves into. These jerks asked for this when they attacked Jesse and picked on him, so they've got no choice but to fight.

Match#1 Roddy Piper, Bob Orton & Jesse Ventura vs The Hillbillies
Heenan adds so much to this with his amazing jokes combined with adding a ton to commentary and picking up on stuff that actually matters. Match itself is ugly as sin as our boys bump around for really lame and weak looking offence. The bumps and stooging are at least fun and distract from the bad wrestling at hand, and the wrestling is BAD. Shit breaks down and Ace slips in a cast shot the back of Luke's head and Piper locks in the sleeper to steal the win.
3/4*

At the booth, Heenan shakes Jesse's hand and says he hopes he was as good at calling the match as Jesse was in it.

We go to a water park with an huge waterslide and Gene says we're about to have a competition between JYD and Jimmy Hart. Jimmy says he can't out-wrestle him, but he can beat him in this one and prove he's a better man. JYD cheats and goes down the slide first to win, and Jesse rightly calls it out. At the bottom of the pool, Jesse is with Terry Funk. Funk says he needs a great tan for the cover of Sports Illustrated after he wins the title. He wants a cover like they did that blonde idiot. He promises to brand them both if they don't do it. AMAZING

We see footage of Funk branding Hogan last month.

-Hogan says he was busted open with that branding iron and he's got a surprise for them in JYD. Dog walks on and says he can see it all real well and make sure this goes down the right way. Hogan says Jimmy is about to be a bone for JYD.

Match#2 Hulk Hogan (c) w/Junkyard Dog vs Terry Funk w/Jimmy Hart (WWF World Championship)
Hogan goes right for it and throws Funker all over, and Vince shouts "GET ON IT, HULKSTER" like the biggest nerd ever. Funk takes more and more insane bumps and really wreaks himself in new ways. He breaks out the Race/Flair corner bump as well, and it's so smooth and gross looking. Funk slips in a mule kick to the balls, but Hogan fights back and kills him with a sick lariat and beats his ass some more. Funk gets some tape and strangles Hogan to finally get something going, and it's mean and brutal as heck. He hits the piledriver but Hogan kicks out at 2.9 in a heartbreaking moment. Hogan does his Hulk up and murders him dead. JYD clobbers Hart to get rid of him, and Hogan slips in the Axe Bombah to win.
**3/4

Post match, Funk beats the referee up and hurls chairs at Hogan before he storms off and drags a dead Jimmy out with him by the feet.

In the ring, Gene joins Hogan. Hulk calls him a punk and tells him to drag his dead manager away forever. Well, he did.

At the water park, Gene asks Albano about Steele's ring rust, and he says The Animal will be at 100%. On the other side of the park. Jesse is with Macho and Liz. Savage says he fears no man or animal, and he's here to teach the girl how to swim, and he throws her in the water as it cuts out.

Match#3 Randy Savage w/Miss Elizabeth vs George Steele w/Lou Albano
Steele smells her and is clearly in love. OH NO. Randy breaks out his bumping boots and goes crazy right away, and can only come back when Steele tries to get close to Liz again and he slips in shots and they rock. Steele loses his mind and eats the buckle to impress her, and Randy hits a massive double axe handle across the ring and pins him.
**

Post match, Randy picks Liz up and carries her to back over his shoulder.

We get a music video for 1985.

We go back to the pool where Corp K uses a flying fox to jump in the pool because he's super awesome and cool.

Match#4 Corp Krichner vs Nikolai Volkoff w/Freddie Blassie & Iron Sheik(Peace Match)
The idea is it's a technical wrestling match to show respect and peace (get it) and hey it's 4 minutes of horrible wrestling from two real scumbags in the game. Headlocks and shoddy looking holds that neither seem to know how to use or lock on. Nic gets sick of it and drops him throat first on the ropes and hits a knee to win. Not very peaceful.
1/2*

Post match, Corp K attacks them both and holds the ring. FUCK YEAH WAR OVER PEACE.

We get a montage of Don Muraco surfing.

Match#5 Ricky Steamboat & Junkyard Dog vs Don Muraco & Mr Fuji
I thought we had moved on from this feud after it died a death back in October, but whatever i guess. 5 Minutes of not much as the partners are awful as hell, and we don't get nearly enough Ricky/Don despite that being the hook. JYD is a really bad fip and fucks a lot up just to make it worse for a time. Ricky finally gets in and fights Don and it rules, but too little too late. JYD beats Fuji with a headbutt.
THUMP FUCK

Post match the faces run them off and hold the ring.

Match#1 Junkyard Dog & George Steele vs John Rizzo & Spot
FUCK NO

WWF Update-
-Ricky Steamboat is using deadly force to work his way to a WWF title shot.

Match#2 Terry Funk w/Jimmy Hart vs Mike Sexton
The fans scream slurs at Jimmy Hart, so Funk murders this kid in his honour like a true hero of the people. Wonderful offence as always, and he breaks out some real nasty kicks to the face and head this week in another killer thing on top of a million other things. Sleeper does the job.
**

Mean Gene-
-Tito Santana is here!! He says Randy has told him to hand the belt over to him, but it's shinning and he and it are ready for a good fight. IT WILL BE A COLD DAY IN HELL BEFORE HE EVER GIVES IT UP. He doesn't care how he treats his woman, well he does but he he cares about the belt and beating him up first and foremost. It will be a disgrace to lose the title to someone he doesn't consider much of a man. This feud rules so much.

Match#3 Tito Santana & Pedro Morales vs Al Navarro & Steve Lombardi
Son of a bitch. Tito does the bulk of the work and he's soooooo good with everything and more than makes up for his old hack of a partner. He runs thought them and wins with the Figure Four on Al.
**

Mean Gene-
-Bruno cuts another terrible promo about being old and lame and fighting cool people like Piper.
-Wonderful jumps on screen and says he has his back because he knows what he's been through just like him, and his cast will even this up for them

Match#4 King Kong Bundy w/Bobby Heenan & John Studd vs Jeff Cripley & Paul Dose
Fantastic fat monster murder with all the cool offence, and a white crowd that wants him dead and buried. Double heabutts and splashes and other great stuff to kill them for a while. Double Avalanche ends it.
**

Piper's Pit with Jimmy Hart. Jimmy runs on and hugs him and brings on Adrian Adonis with dyed hair and bows in there, and Piper in shook. Adrian says he been big and tough his whole life and he can wear whatever he wants. He finally feels like Adrian Adonis with flair and charisma, and he reties his jacket and gives it to Piper (which Piper will keep until his death). Adrian tells the rocketts to eat their hearts out.

Match#5 Don Muarco w/Mr Fuji vs Joe Willams
Our first amazing Don squash of the year with all the brutal work as always, and Fuji throws in some cheap shots like a real dickhead. Tombstone does it
**

Match#6 Ricky Steamboat & King Tonga vs Ron Shaw & AJ Pertruzzi
Oh, i forgot about this team tbh. They again mesh incredibly well thanks to the strikes and high flying they both use, so it's a great squash. Tonga gets some time to shine and beats the fuck out of them as only Haku can. Flying crossbody ends it.
**

Mean Gene-
-Ace Orton says Wonderful should have left well enough alone but he's too stupid and keeps making mistakes, now he's going to pay for it. He's the best wrestler in the world and Piper is the toughest man he's ever met. Piper says for 3 weeks he's called them every name under the sun and didn't even insult their mumma's. They stood around and waited until Boston to fight them. He thought it was a lack of guts, but its because they're plain idiots and stupid and they're going to get hurt.

Match#1 Tito Santana vs Steve Lombardi

Tito gets a singles showcase for the first time in a long time, and he gets the best jobber in the company on top of it. God Bless. Lombardi has some offence on Tito's leg and it's very good and he really wreaks it, but then Tito shuts him down and kicks the snot out of him as only he can in revenge. Figure Four does it.
**

Interviews-
-Tito will be facing Jesse Ventura for the title in a few weeks in Toronto.
-Tito says Jesse cried and whined to the promoters to get this revenge, and he's upset him now. He's looking forward to kicking his butt in Toronto and keeping his title.

BUY THE HULK HOGAN SHIRT FOR $12

Match#2 King Kong Bundy w/Bobby Heenan vs Richard Krupa
Fuck yeah, second squash of the day for Bundy. Heenan joins commentary and rants about being manager of the year no matter what anyone tries to pull on him, and Gene cheated the count. Bundy murders the kid with fat man offence and it's the best. I trust no one who doesn't love Bundy. Avalanche gets the win.
**

Interviews-
-Wonderful again says his cast will even this war up.
-Bro don't tell the enemy your plans.

Match#3 The Killer Bees vs Johnny K9 & Les Thornton
Bees do some killer mat work with Les as he can hang with them better than most, and it's really good stuff. K9 is very fun for a complete madman and lays in some punches, so the Bees have to earn this one for once. B turns the tide and fucks them up on the mat and throws some clean strikes on top of it. flying Lariat from Jim does it
**

The body shop with Tito Santana. Jesse accuses him of taking the easy way out each time he fights and he doesn't have the guts to fight. Tito laughs and says he had a hell of a time keeping Jesse in the ring the last time they they fought, and they can do it now. Jesse says of course he challenges him when he's wearing his good clothes and they're going to wait until the 9th. Tito laughs at him and walks off.

Match#4 Randy Savage w/Miss Elizabeth vs Nelson Vildeoux
Liz is wearing red tonight to match Randy's amazing robe. Jess says Randy taught her how to swim last week on SNME, and he can't wait to see her learn how to skydive. DEAD. Savage can't miss as he nukes another poor kid in a great squash. Insane to think how good his title run is going to be in a few weeks with the way he's getting better each week. Elbow Drop and a one foot pin does it.
**

Match#5 Paul Orndroff & Ricky Stemboat vs Chuck Simpson & Mr X
Super team galore in 86 is good times, pals. Awesome mat work from Ricky and great pissed off offence from the Wonderful one. Piledriver ends the fun.
**

Interviews-
-Jesse walks on and rants about the people not knowing who Chico really is. When he was in the navy at 18 he went down to Mexico where Chico lived and ran a taco stand, and 24hrs it was Chico's revenge if you catch his drift. He might have the IC title, but his reign is going to end thanks to him. He knows he wished it was against anyone else, but its him and his time on the microphone will be the best and Tito will never hear the end of it. Dreams end.

Amazing episode

WWF House shows-11/1

Andre The Giant & Hulk Hogan vs King Kong Bundy, Big John Studd & Bobby Heenan (Philadelphia)
Hogan and Andre are wearing matching yellow and they rush the Family and beat the shit out of them as the crowd explodes, and Bundy takes a wild bump to the outside. Andre slams Studd with ease, and i now declare this horrible feud over. Fuck you, i win. LMAO HOGAN SLAMS HIM AS WELL JUST TO FUCKING DO IT. GET HIM OUT. Heenan takes some wild bumps and stooges like crazy and it's so much fun. Heels manage to get Andre down and the control is pretty boring, sadly. Shit breaks down and Andre kills Heenan with a boot to beat him. Should have beaten Studd for peak lols.
**

Tito Santana (c) vs Randy Savage w/Miss Elizabeth (WWF Intercontinental Championship. Boston)
Jesse does an incredible job on commentary saying that Chico has been a fantastic champion as much as it pains him to say, but his title has never been in more jeopardy than tonight. Tito doesn't give a shit though and goes for the arm and throws Randy off his game right away, and Tito is able to grab the arm and go to work on it. Good work on it as he's always doing something to it, and Randy's attempts to get out of it are really desperate and dirt as he has to resort to an eye poke in the corner. He goes after Tito's bad leg, and Jesse kills it again when he says the last time Tito wrestled for the title with a bad wheel he lost. Wonderful control seg as Randy mixes it all together with his offence and cheating to mess him up, and each cut off gets meaner and meaner. He throws a disgusting knee to the guts at one point and Tito crumples in a heap, and Randy keeps beating on him. Tito's attempted comebacks get closer and closer and he sells like hell each time he gets shut down, but he also gains more ground with each one. Randy tries for a knee a against the ropes and Tito moves and Savage eats shit and gets tied in the ropes, and Tito goes fucking nuts and punches and punches the hell out of him. They fight to the outside and Randy hits a massive Axe Handle to knock him down again on the hardwood floor, and Tito has to fight back once more. He bravely does it and finally mounts a comeback and bashes the hell out of him. He nails the Forearm to knock him to the floor and goes after him but Randy throws Liz at him and then decks him and chucks him over the guardrail and runs back in to win via countout.
***1/4

Post match, Tito goes after him and chases him off. Yeah, i'll take a dozen of these.

Paul Orndroff & Bruno Sammartino vs Roddy Piper & Bob Orton (Boston)
Super hot start with old man Bruno working his ass off to beat them up, and Wonderful uses his cast to help as well. They fight on the outside and Piper decks the old man with a wooden chair to the back, but it pisses him off and beats up Piper. Wonderful gets in, but he gets clobbered by Ace's cast and the heels take over with a fun control seg on him. Wish it was Bruno, but i get it. Gross shots to the head and lots of cut offs that get meaner each time. Wonderful finally comes back when he takes Ace's face off with a lariat, and Bruno gets the tag. It breaks down right away as he and Piper fight on the outside and Piper shoves him over the rail and gets back in to win by countout in the same finish as the last match.
