He's still making bucket fulls of money on the grandest stage. There are thousands, if not millions, who'd love to be in the position he's in. He doesn't like it? Too bad! Suck it up buttercup.
I said, " He would do more good by staying than leaving. Nothing will change by having him leave." I agreed with you, yet in the same breathe, I don't think he's being a "baby." He's making a decision based upon the fact that he doesn't agree with how WWE handles business. Once again, I think he should stay rather than leave, but I don't feel he's a baby by any means.

Money, fame, exposure, the longest reign in 20 years, etc etc etc

So he should be cool with being dropped down the card for a bunch of guys who chip in and out whilst performing better than most for the past 8 years, making money for the company for the past 2 and being often buggered over by the company because they gave him money and a title reign where he was a secondary act at best? Even his Taker match was hastily thrown together and seemed like an after thought. Hes been given a lot but he believes he deserves more ( and has a valid argument IMO) and has taken the only action which will make the company listen. He's been complaining backstage for ages it seems and was ignored so he's got their attention now.

One thing that bugs me is that I rightfully read tons of online complaints about how the current roster lack a spine. How they're happy to turn up, job or don't even work, and pick up a pay cheque. Rosters of the past had more ambition and there was much more locker room competitiveness that naturally resulted in far better on-screen entertainment. They didn't want to be a mid card player; they wanted to be where Rock & Austin were. Now Punk is one of the WWE's top earners but is still completely willing to call out the company for their ludicrous decisions and flaws, and that is something I personally respect a lot. Punk doesn't have to do that when he is one of the most well paid stars and is awarded a lot of TV time, but he doesn't care because he has the "don't fuck me around and screw my buddies" attitude. You can tell he cares about the locker room when he constantly speaks out about the mistreatment of stars like Daniel Bryan, Dolph Ziggler, Antonio Cesaro, Tyson Kidd, and many others. I can guarantee all of you haters here calling him a spoilt baby and a hypocrite that the vast majority of the locker room respects him to the fullest and sees him as a leader.

That's why I voted yes. I support him and think it's brave. He is one of the most talented wrestlers in the world and has probably provided the most entertaining matches and promos if you count all of them up in recent years. He has provided SO many good matches and segments that sometimes get overlooked because of the amount of online hype he does have. If this is true, then this is a huge loss to the company, but I respect it because I feel the exact same way as Punk. I don't want to see part-timers and old-timers take main event spots. I don't want to see Orton vs Batista in the main event of Wrestlemania for the biggest title in the company - no one does. I don't want to accept the pathetic booking decisions that is just an example of how WWE are completely ignoring their fan base. I want more mainstream complaints and backlashes because the more publicity this gets, the more WWE are going to be forced to change.

Great post but this is the most important bit. The hypocrite posts seem to stem from him wanting a mainevent spot for himself and talking about the other guys ignoring the fact that the WWE has multiple mainevents per card. It's not a case of Punk main events so no one else can like some are painting it to be.

I completely agree with what you're saying. Hence why I back up punk's decision. In the same breathe, however, will it help that he left the WWE? I don't think so, but only time will tel.

tquote="Seabs, post: 771103, member: 17"]What could he do to make a difference? Complain? He's probably been bitching about that for months if reports are to believed.[/quote]
Agreed but do you honestly think him leaving will make that much of a difference? hell no. I mean I hope it does; however, im sure it wont. WWE will do it's own thing and replace punk. Sure, him doing what he did may help WWE move in the right direction, but more fan complaints is what's going to do the trick. If they setup another bad ppv like they did with the Rumble, fans will boo and keep booing and ratings will go down. It's just natural. WWE will change their path time. Maybe it wont be perfect but it will change. Punk leaving like he did proves a point, but will it truly change them? No, he's better off staying and bitching and accepting his match with Triple H. If WWE stays on the same path that they've been on, fans will boo more and more and Punk will stand there saying I told you so. Now he's gone....so are they gonna follow his tweets saying I told you so? no, they wont.

As I said earlier, I condone punk and don't think he's a baby for leaving, but is him leaving going o help? most likely no.
