Utami Hayashishita would feature in an interview segment backstage, only to be jumped by Nyla Rose who would be truly relentless in the beating she would dish out to one of the newest members of the Women’s Division show no mercy whatsoever.
On Atomic Hikaru Shida would claim a singles victory of Angelina Love, with it being clear that the bad blood between both groups. After the match, Shida would introduce Hayashishita from the back and welcome her as the newest member of JPN-gun. On the next episode of Atomic, with a number advantage JPN-gun would actually chase The Allure out of the arena with their numbers advantage now playing in their favour.
On the third Rampage of the month, Utami would finally do battle with Nyla Rose and claim a debut victory for her opponent. As soon as the match finished though, The Allure would slide into the ring and proceed to beat the crap out of Hayashishita with Nyla Rose looking unsure for a moment before joining in with the beatdown. The rest of JPN-gun would run out from the back, and force The Allure and Nyla Rose to clear the ring. Afterwards though, Nyla and Angelina were looking at each other - almost as if both women had something on their minds.
Nyla Rose would cut a promo on Atomic making it clear that both her and Angelina Love had come to an agreement that if she was able to beat Awesome Kong tonight then he would officially be made a member of The Allure. During the match though, with the referee distracted everyone would look stunned as Mandy Leon would mount the ring apron and punch Nyla Rose in the face with brass knuckles and lead to her losing the match to Awesome Kong. Kong would take up the microphone and make it clear that Nyla Rose was stupid if she ever thought she was even remotely good looking enough to be part of The Allure than she was even dumber than she looked. And that is when it would happen.
The wolves would pounce with Love, Sky, Leon and Kamille ganging up on Awesome Kong and beating her up in the middle of the ring. Kamille would grab the microphone and make it clear that both Nyla and Kong might be strong in the ring, but were soft in the head if they had ever considered being worthy enough of The Allure as Kamille would introduce herself as the newest member of the group. On the final Rampage, Kamille would claim her first win as a member of The Allure by beating JPN-gun rival Yuka Sakazaki cleanly and prove just how much potential she possessed in the ring. On Atomic The Allure would successfully defend the women’s tag team belts against RihoShida, after the contest Angelina would make it clear that at Winter is Coming the war between both groups would finally come to an end in a Stadium Stampede Match.
The match itself would be truly brutal and despite a landmark performance by Hikaru Shida for JPN-gun, it would be The Allure who would shine through with Kamille nailing Riho with a Spear and sending her tumbling down a flight of stairs before pinning her that would lead to a monumental victory for The Allure with it being pretty clear cut that they had not only won the battle, but they were very close to winning the war.
Jordan Oliver would put on a standout performance in a match against Nakamura and despite the loss he had shown real potential of being able to stand toe to toe with some of the elite members of the roster. On his way towards the back following the loss, whilst interacting with the fans and flipping them the bird he would be smacked around the back of the head by Vikingo who was wielding a kendo stick and who would beat the crap out of Oliver. Vikingo would walk away only to change his mind and grab hold of Oliver and pick him up before dropping Oliver head first down onto the entrance ramp with a brutal piledriver.
Oliver would return to Dynamite after being off for a week recovering from concussion, as he and ELP would front Caza Salvaje backstage and make it clear that they wanted a second shot at the belt, although El Phantasmo would make it clear that Vikingo had disrespected him by attacking his partner. Before El Phantasmo could say another word Fenix would smash him in the jaw with a forearm smash as both groups would descend into chaos as they would start beating the crap out of each other. When the tag champs were on the back foot, Vikingo would knock over a crate as they would flee the scene avoiding any further punishment.
With one week until Winter is Coming, ELP would finally get his wanted match with Vikingo and would shock everyone when he would claim the win by nailing one half of the tag team champions with Sudden Death to bring an end to the contest. Both teams would have another epic championship match at Winter is Coming, but ELP would prove to be the difference maker that would lead to the Wild Boyz win the match and become the new tag team champions in the process bringing an end to Caza Salvaje four month reign as champions.
Following her major victory over Jamie Hayter at Full Gear, which not only had seen Priestley maintain complete control of the AEW Women’s World Championship but also seen Jamie Hayter officially lose her place in Oedo Tai. AEW would put together a five minute mini documentary focusing on the key moment of Priestley’s second reign as champion. After the package, it would be announced that the winner of the Winter Cup would challenge for the title at New Year’s Smash (the event replacing the Jericho Cruise). Later that night the Golden Girls (Rosa & Gibbs) would claim a tag team victory over Oedo Tai (Priestley & Baker) with it being clear that both members of Oedo Tai were far from pleased with the result.
Thunder Rosa and Priestley would have an intense moment backstage where Priestley would make it clear that she was scared of no one and Rosa would just join a list of many who had been forced to bow down to the Queen. Rosa would make it clear that the only thing that was coming - was the Thunder. Priestley would chuckle as she clicked her fingers, before Baker and Starlight Kidd would blindside Rosa and beat the crap out of her before walking away leaving Thunder unable to get back onto her feet.
On Atomic, Rosa would cut a promo making it clear that Priestley’s bully tactics weren’t going to work on her as she was a warrior. And as a warrior she was capable of fighting her own battles and had instructed Statlander & Gibbs to not get involved under any circumstance. Later that night, Priestley would continue to be a fighting champion and would put the strap on the line against recent debutant Serena Deeb. The match would be to a good standard, but once again Priestley would claim the win and walk away with the belt still very much in her possession.
Both women would feature in a promo package hyping up their match for the Women’s Championship at Winter is Coming with it being clear that this might actually be one of the biggest title defences of both Priestley’s reign as champion, whilst there was no doubt in anyone’s mind that this was the biggest match of Thunder Rosa’s entire career. And it was clear that everyone else was chomping at the bit, in anticipation of the contest. Rosa would end the week by claiming a singles victory over Oedo Tai’s Starlight Kid to close the Atomic episode.
In the quarter finals of the Winter Cup: Starlight Kid would claim a win over Jamie Hayter, Kylie Rae would claim a victory over Deonna Purrazzo, Sasha Banks would continue her run of form and advance by surpassing Natalya, whilst Mercedes Martinez would win the final quarter final match with a win over Britt Baker.
In the semis, former champion Kylie Rae would claim the first spot in the match for the Winter Cup by defeating Starlight Kid. On the other side of the bracket, Sasha Banks would book her slot in the final by claiming victory over Mercedes Martinez with Sasha continuing to look as someone who was on course to become a future AEW Women’s World Champion. The final would be an intense encounter between Sasha and Kylie Rae, with both women having their moments under the spotlight - however, everyone would be mildly surprised as Kylie would escape Sasha’s grip to nail her foe with the Kylie Kick to bring the match and win herself the Winter Cup in the process - setting up a match against either Priestley or Rosa at New Year’s Smash.
The AEW Women’s World Championship would be a grueling affair with Rosa and Priestley beating the crap out of each other and pushing the other to their limit, but it would be Priestley who would once again walk away looking close to invincible as she would defend the belt for the 19th time of asking. After the match, Priestley would make it clear that she had now proven herself as the very best that AEW had to offer and there was no doubt that she was single handily the great pound for pound fighter of the era.
On Rampage following Full Gear, Venom Banks would make her AEW in-ring debut by claiming a victory over Statlander. Venom would tease that she was going to cut a promo, before just smiling to herself as she would drop the mike and exit the ring. Venom would claim a second victory on the next episode of Rampage, this time claiming a victory over Brandi Rhodes. Once again, Venom would tease the fans but continue to say absolutely nothing with only her actions in the ring doing the talking. Venom's third match would be her most challenging, but she would maintain her win streak by picking up a win over Oedo Tai member Britt Baker. After the win, Venom would just laugh to herself before heading towards the back with a massive grin on her face.
Venom would continue to make Rampage her home and claim a win over a second member of Oedo Tai in a row when she would claim a win over Starlight Kid, albeit Jamie Hayter did offer a distraction that allowed Venom to nail the Bank Statement to pick up the win. Venom and Jamie would exchange looks as Venom exited the ring, and Jamie entered it to start brawling with Starlight Kid in the ring. On Atomic Venom Banks would cut a promo direct at both Thunder Rosa and Bea Priestley making it clear that it didn’t matter which one of them won the Women’s World Championship because after she claimed the Winter Cup, she would earn her shot for the strap and would leave New Year’s Smash in possession of the title belt.
Venom would beat Natalya in the ¼ finals and Mercedes in the ½ finals - but end up suffering a loss by way of a Kylie Kick to Kyle Rae in the finals of the Winter Cup, which would be Banks’ first loss since joining AEW. It was clear after the match, that ‘The Boss’ was massively gutted that she hadn’t gone all the way in the competition and reaped the awards that came with the win.
Kidd’s call for a high calibre opponent would be answered by a man who actually wasn’t even currently signed to a permanent contract with All Elite Wrestling and was a frequently appearing in the indie scene - Flip Gordon. Flip would make it clear that he had grown and sick and tired of hearing about this young rookie who thought he was hot shit, but really hadn’t actually beaten anyone of any real worth and that the whole Kidd Series Challenge was borderline bizarre. Gordon would make it clear that he didn’t even need to wait until Winter is Coming and that he would bring an end to all of this nonsense on this week’s Rampage.
That week though, Flip Gordon would have a bitter pill to swallow as he would end up suffering a loss to Kidd who was going to prove himself as the hottest prospect on the roster.
The Kidd Challenge Series would continue the following week with Gabriel claiming a victory over Yujiro Takahashi and his unbeaten streak remaining intact. After the match though Yujiro would be joined by Chase Owens as the two members of the Bullet Club would jump Kidd in a two-on-one assault. To everyone’s surprise the Australian powerhouse WALTER would emerge from the back and toss both members of the Bullet Club out of the ring, before coming to Kidd’s aid to check if he was alright.
On Rampage, WALTER and Gabriel Kidd would come out to the ring together, and WALTER would make it clear that he had intended on stepping forward and being the man to challenge Kidd at Winter is Coming, but after the nonsense he had seen in regards to Owens and Takahashi attacking Gabriel did not sit well with him. And therefore, he had flipped the script and instead of fighting Kidd he intended to team up with him and teach Chase and Yujiro a lesson in respect. Kidd would stand silent and let WALTER do all the talking, but just standing by his side he was earning a lot of a clout.
The third Dynamite of the month would see open with WALTER taking on Chase Owens and winning the contest in quite a convincing manner. As WALTER was heading out of the ropes though, Yujiro would nail the Austrian with a chair to the head before demanding he fight him. WALTER would have a smile on his face and tell the referee to ring the bell and go on to claim a second win in just as impressive fashion as the first. After the match though, Owens would re-enter the ring and both Owens and Yujiro would go on a two-on-one offensive only for Gabriel Kidd to emerge from the back and chase away both men. Kidd would grab a microphone and make it clear that he was looking forward to beating the crap out of both men and couldn’t think of a better place to do it then on this week’s episode of Rampage.
On Rampage WALTER & Kidd would team up for the first time, and two men with two very different backstories would prove to be excellent partners and claim a victory over Owens & Takahashi with the Bullet Club members running away from the ring like scolded dogs. After the match, rather than celebrating, WALTER would demand a microphone before turning to look at Kidd and smiling as he would simply saying “at Winter we fight.”
On the Rampage go-home show WALTER would send a clear message in a video promo, that he hoped that after Winter is Coming; Gabriel would continue to work alongside him as his tag team partner and was hopeful that as partner they could achieve great things but would make it clear that at Winter is Coming the streak would end and Kidd’s AEW record would read 19 wins and one loss. Gabriel Kidd would be pushed to his uppermost limit by WALTER, in the best match of the Young Lion’s career but as expected he would suffer his first loss to the Austrian sensation. After the match though it was clear there was a lot of respect felt between both men, and that if anything the match had really allowed Kidd to elevate himself to the next level despite the fact that he had lost the encounter.
On the second week of Rampage following Full Gear, Jonathan Gresham would maintain control of the Pumpkin Bowl after successfully defending the provisional world title shot against a challenging Jack Evans. After the match, Gresham would make it clear that if anyone on the roster intended to do what Ishii did last year and wait until the last second to swoop in then they were a coward and if they had any balls they would walk right up to him and challenge him for the bowl.
Jacob Fatu with Josef Samel by his side would make his intentions clear in a backstage promo, that on behalf of Contra Unit he intended to claim the Pumpkin Bowl from Gresham and would fight him anytime and anyplace. Gresham would enter the scene and make it clear that if Fatu didn't want to wait they could meet in the ring at the Dynamite go-home show ahead of Winter is Coming. Samel would interject and make it clear that Gresham was more foolish than someone who swims with sharks, for Jacob Fatu was a living weapon and went to ruin his life forever before shouting ‘Hail Contra’ at the top of his lungs.
Gresham would make his way out from the back set to fight Fatu for the Pumpkin Bowl only for Fatu to attack him during his ring walk and beat the holy crap out of him. The beating would be so severe that the match would never officially start, not that this wouldn’t stop Josef Samael mockingly making a three count and acting like Fatu had actually won the match. Despite being clearly still hurt from his attack less than a few days ago, Gresham would show off his technical brilliance to pull off an outstanding win over Fatu and retain control of the Pumpkin Bowl going into the new year. The two men would meet again on the following episode of Dynamite, although this time it would be Fatu who would claim the victory and become the 2nd provisional holder of the 2020 Pumpkin Bowl.
Jacob Fatu who had won the Pumpkin Bowl the previous week would make it clear that he didn’t want to wait until Blood and Guts and that if Omega had any balls he would just grant him a shot at the title sooner rather than later. On Rampage - Omega and Fatu would do battle, although in Trios action in the first official match between Contra Unit and The Elite. Contra (Fatu, Cobb & Penta) would claim the victory over the Bucks & Omega. After the contest, Josef Samael would take the microphone and make it clear that following this win for Contra, Kenny would have no choice but to grant Fatu a shot for his title.
It would be announced prior to Dynamite that Omega was set to face Fatuo for the AEW World Championship in the evening’s opening contest. A stipulation was put into place though, that if Fatu lost to Kenny he would be forced to defend the Pumpkin Bowl immediately after the contest. Fatu, not being one to doubt himself, would accept terms. The contest would be an interesting encounter, but Kenny would continue to show why he was the real deal and retain the belt once again. After the contest, Omega would be joined in the ring by The Elite who would offer Fatu some post-match punishment with The Young Bucks nailing Fatu with the Super Party before an uneasy looking Hangman despite clear reservations would nail Fatu over the head with a steel chair.
The Elite would exit the ring, but that would be the end of it for Fatu who would be forced to defend the Pumpkin Bowl immediately afterwards and Gresham would claim a squash victory to reclaim the Pumpkin Bowl.
On the first Rampage following Full Gear, Jamie Hayter would be attacked backstage by a woman wearing a balaclava, with a sprayed silver and black baseball bat to the back of the head. Before the attacker would kick Hayter repeatedly whilst she was down before running away just as a group of officials came to Jamie’s aid.
A week later also on Rampage, Hayter would suffer another brutal bleeding, although the attack wouldn’t be recorded as instead when the camera arrived she would already be in a pool of blood being attended to by an EMT. Although the identity of the attacker wasn’t known, it was assumed that a member of Oedo Tai or someone being hired by the faction was responsible.
The following week on Atomic, Jamie Hayter would confront Starlight Kid and make it clear that although she had no proof she had feeling her former partners were behind her attacks, but that either way it had to be Oedo Tai. Before anything else could be said, the pair would break into a fight backstage and would be beating the crap out of each other, before they would be pulled apart and separated by a security team. The fight would have exhausted Starlight Kid, who despite her best efforts would lose in a valiant effort would lose to Thunder Rosa to end the show.
Starlight Kid would suffer a loss to Sasha Banks on the final Rampage before Winter is Coming, albeit Jamie Hayter did offer a distraction that allowed Venom to nail the Bank Statement to pick up the win. Venom and Jamie would exchange looks as Venom exited the ring, and Jamie entered it to start brawling with Starlight Kid in the ring. It would be confirmed on Atomic, that Jamie Hayter and Starlight Kid would be booked to face each other at Winter is Coming and would so in the first round of the Winter Cup. With Starlight Kid going on to win the match and claim an important win over her former partner with their being no doubt that Love & Hayte was over for good with no chance of reconciliation.
Hayter was set to face another of her former stablemates Britt Baker on Atomic, but prior to the match Starlight Kid would make it clear that this whole nonsense of the Angel Squad was just a distraction. And that no matter what else she did with herself, she would always be unworthy. Hayter would seem to brush off the comments though, as she would go on to pick up a victory over Baker.
Only Angels Fly
On the episode of Dynamite following Winter is Coming, Jamie Hayter would be joined in the ring by Serena Deeb & Deonna Purrazzo where the three women would announce themselves as a new (babyface) faction - introducing themselves as the Angel Squad.
Later in the night Deeb and Purrazzo would team up officially as members of the Angel Squad and claim their first tag team victory over The Horn Blowers. Deonna and Serena would team up again, with two weeks to go until New Year’s Smash this time picking up a tag team win over the former tag team Sky & Leon. After the contest, Deeb would grab a microphone and make it clear that country three angels were part of the squad, but a few more wings had yet to reveal themselves.
On the fallout episode of Dynamite, the leader of the Iron Horns Rush would claim a clean victory over Scorpio Sky, before cutting a promo making it clear that he was ashamed to have lost the belt to Sky - but that Scorpio had brought disgrace to the strap to lose it to TJP in the manner in which he had. Rush would make it clear that he intended to do everything in his power to reclaim the belt and bring honour back to the Iron Horns. The next on Dynamite Iron Horn members Rush and Sammy Guevara would team up to claim a tag team victory over TJP and Mike Parrow. After the match, TJP and Rush would have a stare down where Rush would pat his hands on the TNT Championship with his intentions quite clear.
On the second week of Atomic after Full Gear, The Hornblowers would suffer a loss to Order 66. Rush would become the first male member of the roster to appear on Atomic, where he would make it very clear that if Penelope Ford and The Bunny weren’t able to build some sort of momentum and actually start winning matches, then he might be forced to look elsewhere in finding women capable of representing the Iron Horns. On the following episode Atomic Ford and The Bunny would lose again this time to The Bird & The Bee (Darling & Nightingale).
TJP would cut a promo of his own, making it clear that if Rush wanted a piece of the action at Winter is Coming then so be it and would make it clear that he welcomed the challenge. Despite Rush’s best efforts though, it would be TJP who would retain the belt at Winter is Coming and continue to prove himself as a man more than deserving of holding the strap.
On the fallout show of Atomic following Winter is Coming, the Horn Blowers would suffer yet another defeat this time to newly formed Angel Squad members Deeb and Purrazzo, with Ford and The Bunny looking equally frustrated by the result.
On Dynamite Sammy and Rush would pair up, but suffer a loss to the Good Brothers. After the match backstage, the two men would get into an argument that would turn into a disagreement before they would start fighting each other with the rest of the Iron Horns doing their best to pull both men apart.
The Nightmare Family (QT Marshall, Billy & Austin) would pick up a victory over Dark Order (Evil, Grayson & Silver). After the match, QT Marshall would make it clear that he and Billy had been talking and felt that the Nightmare Family had become stale and ever since Dustin had retired and it seemed as if the Nightmare Family was all just an ego boost for Cody. The two men along with Billy’s son Austin would leave the Night Family and instead form a new group ‘The Factory’ with the intention of putting younger talent over.
In the Nightmare Family’s locker-room area, with now just Cody, his brother Dustin, Brandi and Ryo Mizunami left in the group - the two female members would get into a squabble with Mizunami making it clear that she didn’t work for Brandi and it was time she was shown some respect. Cody would shout at them both to calm down and make it clear that the Nightmare Family was going to seek some fresher face and there was no need for infighting, especially not at a time like this. Cody would be booked to compete in the main-event where he would suffer a loss to PCO, with the French-Canadian Frankenstein now a proven main-eventer following his feud with Kenny Omega and the look Rhodes’ face after the loss, painted a picture that spoke a thousand words. Anger. Unrelenting anger.
Brandi & Mizunami would team up to represent the Nightmare Family on Atomic later that week, but they would also suffer a loss to Tormenta Oscura - with Mercedes Martinez and Kellyanne simply proving to be too much. After the contest, it was clear that Ryo was less than pleased with Brandi and would exit the ring without her partner.
On the Dynamite go-home show Cody would call out QT Marshall to the ring, which QT would end up doing and doing so alone. Cody would make it clear that QT was a coward and a turncoat for jumping ships and turning his back on the Nightmare Family and that sooner or later all traitors got their comeuppance. QT would make it clear that he deserved nothing for creating The Factory, apart from gratitude because unlike Cody he was actually giving something back to the next generation whilst Cody was just another reject of the federation. This would cause Cody to snap as he would slap QT across the face. Marshall though wouldn’t respond with violence, but instead looked disappointed as he would exit the ring and head to the back.
Following Winter is Coming, QT would cut a promo backstage where he would make it clear that the Nightmare Family was nothing more than awkward memory that past members of the group did their best to forget about, but would make it clear that Cody Rhodes continued to leave a stink in the air and that he felt he had no other choice but to take out the trash sooner rather than later, otherwise the stench would never leave.
On an episode of Rampage - Brandi and Ryo Mizunami would be set to compete as tag team, but the pair would start arguing prior to the match beginning before Ryo would slap Brandi in the face before removing her Nightmare Family jacket and chucking it in Brandi's face before exiting the ring (with the assumption that Ryo had now quit the Nightmare Family). A week later on Dynamite Cody & QT would fight to a time limit draw, due to Dynamite going off air - but the manner in which they fought it was clear that both men had no love for each other. On the next episode of Dynamite Cody and QT would be involved in a massive fight, with a dozen security guards having to pull the pair apart.
The Stadium Stampede had left all, but one member of JPN-gun in a position where they were unable to compete - with the exception to the rule being Hikaru Shida. Shida would cut a promo making it clear that gang warfare only worked as long as you had more friends than enemies, but that tonight she wanted Angelina in the ring one on one and wouldn’t take no for an answer. Angelina would answer the call, clearly wanting to save face and both women would end up having a great match with Shida claiming the victory only for the rest of The Allure to slide into the ring after the contest and beat the crap out of Shida in the middle of the ring. With no other member of JPN-gun at the arena it looked like Shida was screwed, only for Awesome Kong to emerge from the back and clear out the ring chasing The Allure away from Shida and towards the back.
Later that week on Rampage former Twin Peaks partner Awesome Kong and Kamille would do battle, with Kamille claiming a win over Kong although the referee wouldn’t notice that Kamille had punch Kong in the head with a chain that she would discard underneath the rope that would allow her to pick up the victory. The following week Tormena Oscura (Martinez & Kellyanne) would challenge The Allure for the tag team titles, that would prove to be an intense match until Riho would appear from underneath the ring and proceed to nail Velvet Sky over the head with what looked like a toaster unsighted by the referee - that would lead to Kellyanne nailing Sky with the Spinning Backfist before dropping down for the cover to win the match with Tormenta Oscura becoming the new AEW Women’s Tag Team Champions in the process via foul play from JPN-gun.
Venom x Thunder - Act One
Venom Banks and Thunder Rosa would end up meeting each other for the first time backstage on Rampage, with Venom being the first to break the silence and mockingly laugh at the fact that Rosa had failed to beat Priestley and that she was far off the standard that was expected from a Women’s Champion. Thunder though would straight up laugh at Banks and remind her that she was meant to be the blockbuster signing and yet she hadn’t even been able to beat a mere indie star like Kylie Rae - and would question if she was even capable of beating her if they were to face off in the ring.
Venom and Mercedes Martinez would strike up a strange deal backstage, with Venom agreeing to deal for as long as she could rely on Aviso de Muerte to have her back. Later that evening Banks would team up with Guilia to claim a tag team victory over Golden Girls (Rosa & Statlander). After the contest, Venoms would make it clear that she couldn’t think of anything else she wanted more than to have Thunder to herself at New Year’s Smash and demand that a match be booked for the event. In the Atomic main-event prior to New Year’s Smash Aviso de Muerte (Martinez, Kellyanne & Guilia) would claim a win over the Golden Girls. After the match Venom Banks would slide into the ring and choke Thunder Rosa with a garrote before nailing her with the Bank Statement sending a clear cut message ahead of their match this coming weekend.
Following WALTER's win over Kidd, the Austrian would officially take on the role of Kidd’s mentor. Kidd would accompany WALTER to the ring, where he would watch on as his mentor would claim a victory over Jay Lethal, before taking on Toa Henare on Rampage and claiming his 20th win of his AEW career and continuing to show himself as one of the hottest young talents in AEW. On the next week’s episode of Dynamite Kidd & WALTER would team up and continue to forge a strong partnership with a victory over Cryme Tyme.
The following week Tyson Kidd would claim the biggest win of his AEW career, as he would claim a non-title victory over TJP. After the match, WALTER would cut a promo and make it clear that despite the fact that Gabriel had claimed such an important win especially over a reigning champion there was a big difference between a title and non-title match and would make it clear that Kidd would not be challenging for the TNT belt anytime soon, because until he proven himself capable of beating him then he would be forcing his mentee to keeping proving himself against the lower echelons of the roster.
Despite having picked up a victory over The Hybrid 4 at Full Gear, Karl Anderson would cut a promo ahead of the Good Brothers match with R-Union Party (which they would end up winning) where he would make it clear that the four nerds had only just got a taste of what it meant to get on the wrong side of the Bullet Club and that he wouldn’t be content until he, Gallows and the rest of the boys had torn the group limb from limbs, but that it was clear in his mind that the person most at fault was the man whispering lies into their ears - Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts.
At the start of Rampage that week, Jake Roberts would be attacked by all four members of the Bullet Club in the parking lot who would proceed to beat the crap out of the old timer before shoving him into the back of a trunk and slamming it shut. A large mysterious man, whose face wouldn’t be filmed, would climb into the car and drive over with a kidnapped Roberts in tow. Later in the evening Angelico and Evans would demand the Good Brothers meet them in the ring, where an impromptu match would occur with Anderson and Gallows picking up another win for the Club over members of The Hybrid 4.
On the following episode of Rampage the Good Brothers would continue their solid run of form, this time getting a win over Cryme Tyme. After the contest. Doc Gallows would grab the microphone and make it clear that Jake ‘The Snake’ would continue to be a captive of the club until a member of The Hybrid 4 was able to prove themselves worthy of actually sharing the ring with a member of the Bullet Club.
On the next Dynamite, TH4 would be attacked by the Bullet Club members Anderson, Gallows, Tyler Black and a fourth man wearing a mask - with the man having the same build as the individual who drove off with Jake ‘The Snake’ in the boot of their car. With The Hybrid 4 having been totally ambushed and unable to defend themselves any longer, the masked man would reveal himself as Hikuleo. The brother of the G.O.D. would announce himself as All Elite, although not officially a member of Bullet Club - but would announce that he would officially be patched in on Rampage this week, after winning his debut match against TH4.
On Rampage Hikuleo was booked to face Kip Sabian, but instead would grab a microphone and make it clear that one man wasn’t enough of a test for him and he demanded a second opponent, which would result in Shawn Spears joining him in the ring. This act of bravery seemed to really impress Tyler Black, who would step in the ring and throw Big Hik a tee and make it clear that he was already a member of The Bullet Club. Despite his best effort, Hikuelo was still inexperienced and would suffer the handicap loss - although would go down swinging and it was clear that he was full of potential.
Later that evening WALTER & Kidd would team up for the first time, and two men with two very different backstories would prove to be excellent partners and claim a victory over Owens & Takahashi with the Bullet Club members running away from the ring like scolded dogs. When Chase and Yujiro returned backstage they would be consoled by Tyler Black before he would clap his hands as the rest of the Bullet Club would attack Chase and Yujiro with steel pipes and beat them to a pulp. Tyler Black would make it clear that a pair of Jabronis might have passed the acceptable standards in Japan, but by losing to Gabriel Kidd they had proved themselves unworthy of the club and were now surplus to requirement. (not only would Owens & Yujiro exit the club, but they would also return to Japan).
A video from earlier in the day would show the TH4 breaking into a secure location and beating up various hired goons working for the Bullet Club to break Jake ‘The Snake’ from his bonds and release him from his captivity. After the emotional rescue, Chris Hero would enter the shot and introduce himself as the leader of The Hybrid 4 - referring to himself as The Hero 1. Hero would make it clear that if the Bullet Club really wanted a war, then it was a war they were going to get. During the actual show, Angelico & Evans would secure a tag victory over Anderson and Hikuleo with Jake ‘The Snake’ in TH4’s corner despite clearly being in a bad way. After the match, the rest of TH4 and “The Hero 1” Chris Hero would come down to the ring, where Hero would send a direct message to Tyler Black challenging the Bullet Club to Broken Rules match (everyone on one team must be knocked out to be eliminated) at Winter is Coming. The Bullet Club would go on to win the contest, with Tyler Black and Chris Hero being the final two men, with Hero being knocked out after Black would nail him with a Curb Stomp directly onto a steel chair. The match was a brutal affair though, with the Bullet Club having been forced to really work for the victory.
On Rampage the Wild Boyz would celebrate becoming the new champions with a particular flair. Oliver would make a joke, that he was no longer - young, dumb or broke now that he had a friend in ELP and was one half of the AEW Tag Team Champions. Only for the Bullet Club to come out from the back and flank all sides of the ring, only to jump into the ring and start laughing as they would embrace both men with Oliver and ELP revealing they were both already wearing Bullet Club tees and were now officially part of the club. Despite the good spirits within the club, they would end up suffering a loss to TH4 - as Hero & Sabian would claim a victory over Hikuleo & Tyler Black with it clear that Chris Hero a.k.a. The Hero 1 was proving to be a massive game changer for The Hybrid 4 and that the war between both groups was far from being over.
The Good Brothers were set to take on the Iron Horns (Rush & Sammy Guevara) in a tag team match. The music of the Bullet Club would play, but instead TH4 and ‘The Hero 1’ Chris Hero would emerge from the back doing a parody entrance of the club and clearly having a lot of fun as they were mocking them, only to be chased off by the real bullet club. It was clear that Anderson and Gallows were distracted, but that wouldn’t stop them from claiming the match victory and continuing their solid run as a tag team since signing with AEW.
The Wild Boyz would make their first defence of the belts and would do so in Bullet Club colours, claiming a comfortable victory over the challenging R-Union Party. The following week the Wild Boyz would act as ringside managers to watch on in disappointment as Gallows & Hikuleo would suffer a loss to Sabian and Angelico. After the contest, Chris Hero would make it clear that the only way this was going to be settled was leader versus leader and he would challenge Tyler Black to face him in an I Quit match at the special.
