Volume One - Prologue "Double or Nothing"

1644406049456.png

The main feature of the Double or Nothing PPV, would be an eight man tournament coined "The First Fight" with the winner of the tournament earning themselves the spot of #1 contender and being guaranteed to challenge for the AEW World Championship at the All Out PPV set to take place in a number of months time. The quarters finals would see Kenny Omega defeat Jimmy Havoc, PAC defeat Christopher Daniels, Chris Jericho defeated Cody Rhodes and Jon Moxley defeated Shawn Spears.

This would set the stage in knowing that out of Omega, PAC, Jericho and Moxley - at least one of them would be involved in the match to become the inaugural AEW World Champion.

In the Semis Omega would dispatch of PAC, whilst Jericho defeat Moxley - setting up a match between two men who a year before had battled it out at NJPW's Wrestle Kingdom 12 in a match that had seen Omega retained the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship in a memorable match against Jericho. Would tonight, be the night that Jericho would be granted his revenge?

In a hard thought contest (that would actually be rated 5-Stars) it would actually be Kenny Omega who would pick up the victory, to go 2-0 over Jericho - but also become the victor of "The First Fight" Tournament and in turn earn himself the All Out Number #1 Contender's Contract, making him the most valued member of the AEW roster in a heartbeat.

Other key matches during the debut PPV included:

- The Lucha Bros claiming a victory over The Young Bucks

- Billy Gunn defeating "Hangman" Adam Page in the evening's co-main event.

- Awesome Kong standing victorious with a win over Aja Kong, as well as The Bunny beating Brandi Rhodes cleanly.

Omega x Jericho - Act One

Following their match at Double Or Nothing, in which Kenny had won ‘The First Fight’ tournament and by doing so earnt himself the All Out Number #1 Contender’s Contract. It would become clear though, over the next few episodes of Dynamite that Chris Jericho wasn’t going to give up on his hopes of becoming the first AEW World Champion. In what would begin as backstage intimidation, would very quickly turn into clear bullying tactics when Jericho would attack Kenny Omega backstage before making it clear to Omega that he wouldn’t stop, until he was in possession of Contender’s Contract - a prize that was rightfully his.

Jericho had no intention of taking his foot off the pedal and would continue to apply when he would blindside Omega, mere seconds after Kenny had claim victory over Luthor he would achieve a brutal chair to the back of the head before he would find himself locked up in the Walls of Jericho, and would tap out for a good thirty seconds before Jericho would eventually really the hold. This second assault was all to much for Omega, who would agree on the go-home show prior to Fyter Fest that he would put his #1 Contender Contract on the line in a Ladder match at the PPV, but would make it clear that there would be no second chances. Jericho would agree to the terms, although ‘The Painmaker’ would make it clear that he would be winning the contract, so the only person left regretting decisions would be Omega.

At Fyter Fest, both men would feature in separate promo packages, Omega would talk about the importance of retaining the Contender’s Contract and that he had proven himself the better man on two separate occasions. Jericho though would make it clear in his package, that he had shown himself to be the greatest wrestler in the world for the last three decades and that later tonight he would correct his loss by defeating Omega by climbing up to the top of the ladder.

The match would end up being just as good as their match at Double or Nothing, with both Omega and Jericho entertaining the crowd and putting on an exceptional five-star performance that would prove to be an absolute spot-fest. Jericho would springboard off the ropes and nail Omega with the Codebreaker off the ladder, that would prove to be the final nail coffin for Omega’s dreams of becoming the first AEW Champion as Jericho would end up climbing the ladder shortly afterwards to claim the contract for himself and win the match.

Cody Rhodes x PAC - Act One

Following Double or Nothing, two men who had taken part in “The First Fight” tournament were set to face each other in the main-event of the first ever episode Dynamite, and it would be ‘The Bastard’ PAC who would overcome Cody to claim the historic victory. The following week, Cody would confront PAC backstage and make him an offer to stand alongside him and join the Nightmare Family. It was clear that PAC would take the invitation as an insult rather than a compliment, as an argument would break out between both men that would have to be diffused by a collection of workers and referees backstage before it got physical.

Tony Khan would decide to book a Six-man tag team match between The Nightmare Family (Cody, Dustin & QT) and PAC who would be joined by TH2 (Jack Evans & Angelico). The Nightmare Family would claim the victory, although this wasn’t all surprising considering the level of cohesion that the trio seemed to have coming into the ring. PAC though wouldn’t hold back after the bell and instead would attack Cody backstage after the match, beating him within an inch of his life with torrents of blood spurting out of Cody’s head.

It would later be announced that PAC was booked to face Cody Rhodes at Fyter Fest and that the winner of the contest would challenge for the AEW Championship at All Out.

Prior to the match both men would exchange words in the ring, and make it clear that they both felt whoever won the match tonight would go on to win the AEW Championship at All Out. In what was a grueling battle between it would be PAC who would claim victory after connecting with the Falcon Arrow. After the contest, it was abundantly clear by the look on his face that Cody was incredibly disappointed with his loss.

Moxley vs. The World - Act One

On the debut episode Dynamite, Jon Moxley would be found in a pool of his own blood backstage with the identity of his attacker unknown to all as the cameras were not filming the area during the time of the attack. The attacks on Moxley would continue the following week, as whilst he was battling with Joey Janela in a No Disqualification match, a Masked Assailant would leap onto the ring apron holding a baseball bat would would distract Moxley enough for Janela to grab by his pants and roll him up for a school boy pin to steal the victory from the jaws of what had looked like certain defeat only moments earlier.

A few weeks later during the go-home show prior to Fyter Fest, Jimmy Havoc would reveal himself as the man who attacked Moxley and reveal that Jon Moxley was the representation of everything that was wrong about the wrestling business, and refused to recognise him as anything but what he was. An entertainer. Jimmy Havoc would make it clear that he only had one intention, putting Moxley on the shelf.

The match at Fyter Fest would prove to be nothing but a ruse, as Jimmy Havoc would loss the match via DQ, as he would bait Moxley to the ringside before nailing him in the head with the ring bell that would bust Moxley wide open with the match ending immediately. Havoc, though, set up a ladder bridge between the ring and the security fence before dropping Moxley straight through with a Death Valley Driver from the height of the turnbuckle that would leave Moxley looking like had survived a car crash as he would be attended to by the ringside Doctor.

A few weeks later a tag team match would be booked, with Havoc & Janela teaming up and managing to get the better of Moxley & Billy Gunn, although it was very much Billy who was the weakest link and would suffer the pin-fall.

Havoc and Moxley would end up facing each other once again in the ring, this time at the Fight For The Fallen show. The match would be a great and truly bloody affair, with it being contested under Falls Count Anywhere Stipulation, but after twenty minutes the referee would call for the bell declaring the match a draw. This wouldn’t stop either man from fighting, and they would have to literally be ripped apart from each other by a whole security team. One thing was certain, and that was that the bad blood between both men was far from being over.

Lucha Bros x Young Bucks - Act One

Following the Lucha Bros victory over The Young Bucks at Double or Nothing, the tag teams contracted to AEW had very much been put on notice that Fenix and Pentagon were much much the team to beat in the division. The two teams would continue to feud over the weeks leading up to Fyter Fest, with on one particular night Pentagon & Fenix managing to pick up individuals wins over the Bucks during an episode of Dynamite,

Both teams would come to an agreement to face each other once again, this time at Fyter Fest. During the go-home show The Bucks would claim a victory over one of the newest teams in the division High Education via DQ - after they would be attacked by Pentagon, who would lay both members of the Bucks would with multiple kendo stick shots.

Giving some context High Education was a tag-team composed of Peter Avalon taking on the role of a Teacher, with Leva Bates as his assistant whilst Kip Sabian was Avalon’s tag team partner but presented as his student. The dynamic of the team was very much that Avalon was the example that Sabian and the rest of the AEW should follow. Part of the dynamic was clear that Kip wasn’t as delusional or as indoctrinated into the way of thinking in the manner that Leva Bates clearly was.

At Fyter Fest the two teams would put on another five star contest, although The Young Bucks would even up the score between both teams to one win apiece by claiming the victory. After the match, Matt Jackson would take to the microphone and announce that at Fight For the Fallen, for the third PPV in a row a tournament would take place for the AEW Tag Trophy as well as to become the inaugural AEW World Tag Team Championships.

‘Hangman’ Adam Page & Kenny Omega would actively start wrestling as a tag team, with it being pretty clear cut that both members of ‘The Elite’ were looking to enter the tournament. In other tag team news, Tully Blanchard would announce himself as the manager and director of the Dark Order.

HNssP5pE35E1fkdkisynsTevAexOcdSE6Lk1h6qjh3aNQv368rOjyV3TpK_nIBcNIDAizNHfJ-wvSwVU7pQCS8A_VSKVfKND0j939L-TuN043LTSJPLRoRi5v1wmv6cb7f-tsHZb

In a poetic fashion, The Young Bucks and Lucha Bros would advance to the final, meaning that not only was one of the teams going to leave with trophy and championship belts, but also prove themselves as the better team. The match would end up being the MOTN and break past the five-star rating barrier as the Lucha Bros would claim the AEW World Tag Team Championships and prove themselves as being ‘THE TEAM’ of AEW.

One True Queen - Act One

The women of AEW were very much in unknown territory following Double or Nothing, but over the first month following the PPV three particular feuds would be pushed to the forefront and would claim the most attention.

The feud that was the least interesting, that seemed to be more about Brandi Rhodes’ ego than her talent, would see her continue to feud with The Bunny even though it was abundantly clear that she was really no match for her Canadian counterpart.

Britt Baker and Bea Priestley would also start a rivalry, with Aja Kong & Awesome King very much being seen as the main storyline in the division with Aja Kong promising that she would be unable to return to Japan until she claimed a victory over her rival. All three feuds would collide in a Six woman tag team match that would see the babyface team of Aja, Britt and Brandi claiming the victory. At Fyter Fest all six women plus Emi Sakura and Shoko Nakajima would compete in an elimination tournament that would be named the Fyter Fest Cup with the added incentive that the winner would become the inaugural Women’s Champion. All three feuds active feuds would be contested in first round matches that would see Aja Kong finally get a victory over Awesome, Bunny continue to show her dominance to go 3-0 in her series with Brandi, whilst Priestley would be the victor over Baker. Emi Sakura would claim the win in the fourth contest.

In the Semis Sakura would defeat Aja, whilst Priestley would see off The Bunny before the tournament would conclude with Priestley claiming a solid victory and thus becoming the inaugural champion. As part of the post-match celebrations, Bea would make it clear to everyone that as much as she couldn’t give a rat’s arse what the fans thought of her - she intended on being a fighting champion and hoped to be recognised as the most valuable member of the AEW roster in months to come.

Priestley would stay true to her world and in the following episode of Dynamite would defend the title against her rival Britt Baker. After the contest, Bea would make it clear that she was willing to take Britt under her wing and teach how to make it in this business and one day be on her level. Britt would accept Priestley’s offer and by doing so would turn heel. One of Baker’s first tests would be to face Japanese sensation Hikaru Shida, although the match would prove to be nothing but a ploy because as soon as Shida had claimed the win - Priestley would slide into the ring and blindside Shida by smashing the gold square into her unexpecting face. Priestley would make it clear that at Fight for the Fallen, she wanted Hikaru to be the challenger for her belt.

At Fight for the Fallen, the two matches of significance would see Aja Kong claim a second successive victory over Awesome Kong taking her tally to 2-1, whilst competing in AEW rings. Bea Priestley would also continue to impress and prove herself as an accomplished women’s wrestler as she would defeat Shida and retain the strap. Bea though, would take her foot off the gas and would defend the belt the following week on Dynamite and once again retain this time claiming victory over Emi Sakura.

After the victory, Priestley would inform the fans of two announcements. The first was that on the go-home show Hikaru Shida and Emi Sakura would clash in a number one contender’s match, and that the winner would face her at All Out (with Emi ending up winning that match). The more pressing news would be that Priestley would confirm that Britt Baker was not only officially her tag team partner, but that Baker had been accepted into the fold and was the newest member of Oedo Tai. This would mean that Oedo Tai, primarily a Stardom faction, was now a recognized group of All Elite Wrestling, even if Baker and Priestley were part of the American Chapter.

Aja Kong would also confirm that she would wrestle Awesome Kong at All Out one final time, but that win or lose she would be returning to compete in Japan after the show was over.

Moxley vs. The World - Act Two

At Fight for the Fallen, Tomohiro Ishii had made his in-ring debut for AEW and had done so by claiming an impressive debut victory over Dustin Rhodes. On Dynamite on the come-back show, Ishii and Havoc would be paired up to face off against Dustin & Moxley. Ishii would surprise everyone including Moxley as he would prove to be an absolute destructive force as he would nail Moxley with a Vertical Drop Brainbuster to win the contest. After the match Moxley would shake hands with Ishii and it was clear that he had a lot of respect for the Japanese veteran as both men would exchange words that the ringside microphone wouldn’t pick up on.

Moxley's approach to Havoc would change though, as he would go on the offensive and attack Havoc backstage on the following week’s episode. Moxley would then announce that at All Out they would meet in the ring one final time, in a No Holds Barred contest and make it clear that Jimmy Havoc was going to pretty much have to kill him, if he wanted to stop him from beating the almighty hell out of Jimmy at the PPV. It would be announced that management had put a mandatory requirement in force, that meant that if either man attacked the other before their match at All Out then they would have their contract terminated without pay immediately.

Tomohiro Ishii would make it clear that as soon as Moxley was finished with Jimmy Havoc, he intended to prove himself to the AEW fanbase by having a series of one-on-one matches with Moxley.

Lucha Bros x Omega & Hangman

The Lucha Bros had confronted Kenny and Hangman backstage in a segment taken from the after-show of Fight for the Fallen in which they had mocked both men of being below par and without a doubt the easiest of the three opponents they had faced in the AEW Tag Trophy. The Lucha Bros would make it clear that if Kenny and Adam intended to remain the division then they were going to make an example of them, that would begin next week with Pentagon, Jr. taking on Hangman in a singles contest.

To Penta’s surprise though, he would be totally caught out by Page who would nail him with the Buckshot Lariat to win the match. This would lead to a confrontation after the ring, in which the Lucha Bros would challenge their opposite number to a non-title match on next week’s show, and if they were able to beat them they would put the belts on the line at All Out. Omega would manage to recapture some of the form he had held when he had won ‘The First Fight’ tournament and he would prove to be the difference maker as he would nail Ray Fenix with the One Winged Angel to win the contest.

At the contract signing, Fenix and Pentagon, Jr. would inform Omega and Hangman that they would be competing in a Tables Match at All Out and that the only way to win would be to throw one of your opponent’s through one of the tables. After both sets of contracts were signed, a fight would break out in the ring that would result in what seemed like half the roster charging out from the back to separate both teams.

PAC x Jericho - Act One

Following Fyter Fest, at least on paper PAC was now set to face Chris Jericho in a match that would crown the first ever AEW World Champion. On the first episode of Dynamite following the PPV, both men would bump into each other backstage - however, Chris Jericho wouldn’t even interact with PAC almost as if he didn’t even know who PAC was. The British wrestler would find this funny and laugh it off rather than engaging which wasn’t surprising considering how exhausting the match between Cody and himself had been.

Later on in the episode, Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho would cross paths. Despite everything that had happened between both men, Kenny would off Jericho his hand as a sign of respect. Rather than accept his hand, Omega would spin on his axis and would nail him with the Judas Effect knocking him down onto the floor. Looking down at Omega, Jericho would make it clear that he didn’t associate with riff raff and losers and so he certainly wasn’t shaking hands with the man he had embarrassed less than a few days ago.

At the start of the following show a video package would confirm that at Fight for the Fallen, Jericho and PAC would face each other in a tag team match with their partners yet to be confirmed. Following a victory over Dark Order member Stu Grayson, Cody Rhodes would approach PAC and wish him the best of luck ahead of his match against Jericho at the All Out in under two months time. PAC though would take the compliment as an insult, and would make it clear to Cody that the war between them wasn’t even close to being over and in fact all that he had taken from Fyter Fest, was simply that the two men had simply just fought their first battle. Cody didn’t know quite what to say, but PAC would push him out of his way as he would disappear backstage.

Jericho would cut a promo in the ring where he would introduce Jake Hager as his right hand man and would introduce the pair as the ‘Jericho Circle’ and would be his tag team partner at Fight For the Fallen. Jericho though, would announce ahead of his main-event contest with Billy Gunn that he was so confident that he would defeat the “ass of a man” that was Billy Gunn that he would actually put his #1 contender's contract on the line. This action was clearly done with the intention of adding insult to injury to Kenny Omega, as Jericho would easily dispatch of Gunn and celebrate his victory as if he had defended an actual championship belt rather than a contract for one.

During the go-home show PAC would announce his tag-team partner for Fight for the Fallen as being the menacing Luthor, and would do this following a victory over Frankie Kazarian.

Luthor & PAC would claim an impressive victory over the Jericho Circle - giving PAC some much needed momentum ahead of next month’s All Out PPV. However, following the match Jericho would catch Jericho out from behind by ramming a chair into PAC’s back before nailing his rival with the Codebreaker and send him down to the canvas and in desperate need of medical attention as he would clutch his back, and have to be helped backstage by various members of the medical team.

It would be announced that as it currently stood PAC was medically unable to compete, with questions arising that a replacement opponent may need to be found to face Jericho at All Out. Cody Rhodes would end up confronting Jericho backstage and make it clear that if PAC was unable to compete in the AEW World Championship match then he would be more than willing to step up to the plate and face Jericho for the title. Rather than answer himself, Jericho would wave his hand in the air as instead Jake Hager would respond. Hager would make it clear that just like Kenny Omega, Chris Jericho didn’t fraternize with proven losers and that Cody should prove himself capable of winning big matches before stepping up to face the Painmaker in the future. Before Cody could say another word, Hager would lift his hand up in the air and make it clear that the conversation was over.

In a pre-recorded video package that was filmed prior to the show, PAC would be recovering in a luxury hotel he had been placed in as temporary accommodation as he was yet to find permanent residence in the States. Chris Jericho with Jake Hager in tow would end up kicking down PAC’s door and assaulting him in the hotel room before Jericho would throw PAC face first into a mirror that would cause it to smash into a million pieces before stomping down on him repeatedly before informing PAC that there would be absolutely no conceivable means by which he would be medically cleared to compete at All Out before both members of the Jericho Circle would exit the room walking away from PAC, as if he was a discarded piece of trash.

Later on during the actual show, Jericho would announce that PAC would no longer be able to compete at All Out but that tonight he would offer Cody Rhodes an opportunity to face him at the PPV, and that all he had to do was was to pin him in the middle of the ring during the evening’s main-event. Jericho would prove to be far too dominant for Cody, before mockingly offering his hand to Cody that Rhodes would reach to shake before the Painmaker would chuckle to himself before giving Rhodes the middle finger before kicking him straight in the groin and nailing him with a brutal Judas Effect knocking him down onto his back.

Following an impressive singles victory over Jay Lethal, Chris Jericho would cut a promo in the middle of the ring making it clear that he was currently without an opponent at All Out and that if no suitable candidate could be found then he should simply be presented the AEW World Championship immediately. Before, Jericho could say another word - PAC would appear on the titantron screen and cut a promo from the confines of his hotel room. In this promo he would inform the viewers at home, but more importantly Chris Jericho that he was cleared to compete at All Out and despite Jericho’s best effort, he would be powerless to hold down ‘The Bastard’. PAC would challenge the Jericho Circle to a rematch of their match at Fight for the Fallen, making it clear that he and his good friend Luthor would once again prove themselves to be the better men within the confines of the squared circle.

Luthor would be assaulted in the parking lot upon his arrival by Jake Hager, who would brutalise Luthor by sending him straight through the windshield of an automobile with a hellacious Gutwrench Powerbomb. The attack would mean one thing though, and that was that PAC was currently without a tag-team partner for tonight’s main-event. Later during the show, Cody would approach PAC and offer to be his partner tonight in the ring. Cody would make it clear that he didn’t expect PAC to join the Nightmare Family or this to be mistaken as friendship, but rather that his hatred of Jericho was equal to PAC’s own.

Despite both men’s similar grievances for Jericho they were unable to get on the same page which would prove to be his undoing as PAC and Cody would struggle to form any sort of fluid bond, which would lead to the Jericho Circle claiming the win. Jericho though, by the true apex predator would blindside PAC after the match and nail him with one final Judas Effect as one final shot across his bow before the pair would meet this coming weekend at the All Out PPV fighting for the right to become the inaugural AEW World Champion.

I will run a Prediction Contest alongside this for any readers interested. The winner/s will get to choose three wrestlers from the indies or perhaps other promotions that they would like to see appear in this project - and I will do as much as I can to secure them as soon as humanly possible.

I hope anyone who has been reading has enjoyed what I've been putting together, having tried presenting this project in a slightly different style than I normally would.

A massive thank you to @The Fourth Wall for making me such incredibly beautiful match cards for this event.

Chapter One - Finale

SbbYqlQ.png

[The opening contest would be a lack lustre contest, in which Brandi Rhodes simply wasn't able to cut the mustard due an incredibly low popularity rating, not to mention that The Bunny simply was a much more talented worker. The Bunny would end the contest, by nailing Rhodes with the Allie Drop.]
(2 Star - 6:24)

[Prior to the Casino Battle Royale beginning, MJF would cut a promo backstage and make it clear that he was the man whom was destined to win tonight's match and winning the shot for the AEW World Championship. MJF would make it clear to all involved that no matter what, he would do everything in his power to prevent Dustin Rhodes from winning the match making it clear that, that old dusty sack of shit was going to get one hell of a beating either way.

Joker Entrant: Jay Lethal

Order of Elimination: 15) Luchasaurus 16) Christopher Daniels 17) Darby Allin

This would result in a final four, with the surviving man earning a shot at the AEW World Championship, being Diamond Dallas Page, CIMA, Stu Grayson & Jay Lethal. DDP had been in the match longest, whilst the other three men were all relatively new arrivals although the manner in which the crowd were cheering it was clear who they were favourites were. DDP was getting a lot of love form the old school wrestling fans, whilst Lethal was getting cheers from those fans more accustomed to watching the indie scene.

CIMA would be eliminated from the contest, after Jay would nail him with the Lethal Injection only to be followed up by Stu Grayson picking CIMA back up and tossing him out of the ring.

Order of Elimination: 18) CIMA

Jay Lethal would be the next to go, as DDP and Grayson would seem to recognise the threat that the matches' Joker presented, as they would go on the offensive and using their combined strength toss him out of the ring.

Order of Elimination: 19) Jay Lethal

The match would come to a close with both DDP and Grayson having found themselves fighting on the ring apron, on the wrong side of the ropes with both men battling it out in No Man's Land. DDP would end up connecting with the Diamond Cutter, and Stu Grayson would hit the floor first meaning that the oldest man in the contest and also the man who had been in the it the longest would become the first ever winner of the Casino Battle Royal.

Order of Elimination: 20) Stu Grayson

DDP now knew, that now matter what happened later on in the night he would be challenging the inaugural AEW World Champion in the very near future.]

[The Brawl Match was certainly a unique concept, as rather than taking place in the ring it would be fought in Penelope Ford's (kayfabe) hotel room, with Ford inviting Sadie Gibbs, Nyla Rose, Riho and a match official into the room. Penelope would make it clear to everyone in the match, that she had been told by management that if a certain level of violence was met - Tony Khan had suggested that the winner of contest might be in contention at a shot for the AEW Women's World Championship. The incentive of the prize, was all the other three needed for an all out brawl to break out in the hotel room. Some of the more memorable spots would include:

- Nyla Rose would rip off a flat screen LCD TV off the wall, and lay it down on the floor before picking up Sadie Gibbs and slamming her down back first down onto it with the Beast Bomb.

- Penelope Ford would have Riho leaning up against the shower cubicle, before charging forward and nailing her with a Running Big Boot that would send Riho straight through the plastic protective screen and left in a crumpled mess on the shower floor.

- Sadie Gibbs, with fragmented LCD solution still on her back - would have taken hold of Riho lifted her up in the air and nail her with a DVD that would be done with such force, that Riho would land on the queen sized bed and the bed frame would buckle and break from the pure impact of the move.

The match would come to an end with all four women left looking absolutely devastated, Sadie Gibbs had been thrown into a closet in one corner of the room, whilst Nyla Rose was lying in the corridor outside of the room. The match would final end when a blood face RIHO would wrap the shower cord around Penelope's throat, and as she was choking the life out of her Ford had no choice, but to tap out.]

[The Lucha Bros were without out a doubt the team that the AEW Tag Division was being built around, and their rivalry with the Young Bucks had very much put the titles on the map. Omega & Hangman though offer Fenix and Penta different challenge, as these were two men that were really individuals that worked well together instead of being a unit that knew all of their partners small intricacies. The match would be carnage to say the very least, and it was clear that the fans anticipation considering the last contest had only been viewable on the titantron screens. The match would end, with Kenny Omega lying on his back on the outside of the ring - with Hangman Page on the receiving end of a two-on-one assault that would result in Pentagon, Jr standing on two wooden table holding Page, with Fenix leaping off the turnbuckle as they would connect with the Package piledriver/Diving double foot stomp combo to send Hangman crashing through the table, to successfully defend the titles for the first time since winning them at Fight For The Fallen.]
(5.25 Star - 14:19)

PZYpYAM.png

[No matter how this match ended, Aja Kong had already confirmed that this would be her final match in the USA for quite a while, as she would be returning to Japan. Both women were very much the Big Hosses of the women's wrestling and they would spend most of the time focusing on hitting big power moves, although at times the match felt more like an exhibition match without and intent from either woman to really hurt the other. The match would end with Awesome Kong leaping off the turnbuckle and crashing down on top of Aja with Amazing Press to secure the victory. The result would put the women at two wins apiece in their series of matches meaning that neither had been confirmed superior, at least on an AEW platform. Both woman would show a lot of respect for each other and shake hands in the ring, before Awesome Kong would give Aja the ring allowing her to receive individual praise from the fans in attendance.]
(3.75 Star - 8:33)

dn4hlU5.png

[Bea Priestley had proven to be a dominant champion, but also a fighting champion who had been very vocal in not wanting to hide behind her status as the face of the division. Both her and Sakura were no strangers to each other, with this being the third time the two had met to compete for the AEW Women's World Championship. Just like the previous encounters, as much as Emi gave a good account of herself it was clear that Priestley was the superior combatant which was clearly a key part of trying to give the title as much prestige as possible in its infancy. Bea would claim the win by locking Sakura in the Fatality (Double Wristlock) forcing the veteran to tap out and retain the belt and marking her fourth defence of it. The match itself though, hadn't technically been the best though and seemed to have suffered for taking place after the Kong vs. Kong match. After the match, Priestley would make it clear that she wanted the rest of women in the back to push themselves to the front of queue because she the face of All Elite Wrestling and she wasn't scared of anyone.]
(3.25 Star - 15:52)

0SdCHtq.png

[Moxley and Havoc had been feuding for months, with the hopes that this No Holds Barred match would the means by which their bad blood would finally be dealt with - although that in itself was likely to stop because of one brutal match, which it wold prove to be. Some of the more violent moments of matches would include:

- Havoc would end up shoving a handful of thumbtacks in Moxley mouth, before forcing it closed and then locking in the Suicide Silence (Sleep Hold) which means that Moxley was forced to fight the hold whilst hie mouth was filled with literal spike of pure pain

- Moxley would wrap a steel chair around Havoc's neck, before connecting with a Running Bulldog that would leave the Brit choking for air on the canvass.

- With the steel steps in the ring and standing on top of them Havoc would slam Moxley down upon it, with a deadly Go Home Driver (Cradle back-to-belly piledriver) which the referee had nearly ruled Mox as being knocked out, if he hadn't kept his arm in the air on the third arm drop and giving a middle finger in the air clearly intended for Jimmy Havoc.

The would end with Jon Moxley find a pair of handcuffs and locking Jimmy Havoc to a guard rail, before taking hold of kendo stick and hitting him repeatedly over the head with it busting him wide open. After about fifteen unanswered shots, the referee would rule that Havoc was unable to defend himself and would call for the bell. Moxley though, was showing no signs of stopping and would start punching Jimmy with closed fists to his blood face, only for Havoc to be smiling rather than wincing - but Mox would just keep going until Havoc did finally fall limp. (It was assumed that Moxley had turned heel during this post-match beatdown.]

(5 Star - 17:29)

[The evening's main-event would see the inaugural AEW World Champion finally be crowned, with a true legend of the business go one-on-one with a man who many considered as being the future of AEW. Both men had beaten some tough opponents to get to where they now were, with Jericho having beaten Omega and PAC Rhodes but there was no love lost between either two men in this contest. The match would be longest match of the entire night, but also prove to be the match of the night with both men pulling out all the stops. Whether it was Codebreakers, Back Heel Kicks, Lionsaults or Corkscrew splashes both men weren't holding anything back. It would be just after the thirty minute mark though, that the conclusion to the match would finally come about.

Both men were battling on the turnbuckle, when PAC would nail Jericho in the throat with a forearm smash forcing the man his senior to tumble off. This would allow PAC to take to sky and connect with the Black Arrow, before transitioning into the Brutaliser that would leave Jericho with no choice but to tap out.

PAC would have a massive smile on his face, which was a rare sight to see as it was, as he would be handed the AEW World Championship and would end the night by clambering up onto the turnbuckle and hoisting the belt above his head,]
