No new match can realistically be created without at least 3 rules separating it from the other 80 matches.

And yes, King of the Mountain can also be explained in 20-30 seconds. You need a pin to be eligible to win, if you are pinned you take a timeout, hang the belt to win the match and the title.

There is. That’s the timeout I’m talking about.

You get pinned, you go in there for a minute.

It adds to the strategy. The person who pinned them can now climb the ladder while they’re in the cage.

They honestly only added a pin and a penalty to a standard ladder match.

depends what you mean by new match types, because 99% of the time a new match type is just an extra stip thrown onto an already established match type. like that mma cage match aew had was just a cage match with an octogon shape

Honestly, it's not a match I think I ever enjoyed watching Granted I might have watched 3 or 4 that have ever happened. But they've always seemed sloppy to me.

In order to win you need a fall over all of your

I have a love/hate relationship with KOTM, I don't really care for the rules as a concept but I can't deny I've generally thought most I've seen were downright great matches

I could take or leave the penalty box, but I think needing a win over someone to climb the ladder really ups the stakes in KOTM.

The only reason I don’t hate the box is it can theoretically be used for strategy if you pin the r last person available to stop you etc.

I honestly think if executed right it could be a great way to reward someone with a title shot.

It would probably be like an hour match with crazy spots and bumps to get 5 falls a piece.
