I believe that’s what he was doing, but then things broke down on Wednesday night. Like from a Kayfabe perspective I like to think Sammy was using him to get the 1 on 1 match, and then wasn’t going to lay down for him. The check might not clear, but when you’re champ you get the champions bonus and that, plus the title would be more than what ol Max could offer
