for sure, even I don't love 100% of every single angle. It's very rare there's something I outright hate though, just to give the other side.

I mean me too but I'm also in the minority that doesn't have much I outright hate in WWE too lmao

I honestly couldn’t get too invested in a snow with no sports entertainment, but it doesn’t have to be everything you do. AEW is honestly a good hybrid of both WCW and ECW that balanced storylines, segments and quality wrestling.

I think trying to be WWE lite would be disastrous tho yeah, it's really where TNA went downhill. It stopped being an alternative and just became a lesser version of WWE
Yeah AEW should be AEW. I think it's a good thing they aren't acting like the rebel brand like the early years as they have their footing now. But yeah I don't want WWE on a smaller scale or WWE with different wrestlers. Let WWE do WWE , they are very good at being WWE.

Yeah AEW is really it's own genre bc they try and be a melting pot of all styles of wrestling. Which can be a turnoff for some I'm sure that do not like that variety but I think most enjoy a lot of it, they just might not care for example some of the lucha or the hardcore matches specifically when they happen, where others might love those but not care for the comedy, etc. I think it'd be pretty rare to find someone that genuinely loves all of it but AEW does enough of everything to bring those niches in for the most part
I’m honestly surprised MLW doesn’t ever badmouth AEW because they took his hybrid wrestling concept and bettered it.

"Wrestling Nerd Nirvana" is the product based TEW created for AEW and I've never heard something describe it better

The funny thing is people associate great storylines and promos with sports entertainment and I think that's completely inaccurate. Many of the great storylines have come from ECW, ROH, Japanese promotions and other places branded as "real wrestling" or "alternative" or whatever you wanna apply. To me the shit that makes something sports entertainment is the nature of the segments, use of skits, celebrities, non-wrestlers, etc. or jusy having a product that revolves around angles where the matches are basically just tools to advance a story.

To be fair to Chris, I think WWE is probably watchable now. I just can’t bring myself to attempt it.
oh it is, I watched some of it, it's a FAR CRY from a few years ago where I legit would rather take an acid bath than watch ANYTHING WWE :heston

It's really not a bad product anymore it's just 1) not for me 2) I don't have the nostalgia others do, in fact I have AEW nostalgia being a day1- guy 3) I just don't want to dedicate another 3-5 extra hours on a product I get varied entertainment from. Clips and highlights + some PLEs is what works for me without making me a cranky butt

I do wonder if Collision will have a different product feel though, maybe not as coke-fueled bang bang segment after segment like Dynamite is. Or maybe Dynamite also will let things breathe more with the extra time, it's a common complaint that I can take or leave. I like how Dynamite doesn't let me breathe before new shit is happening personally but wouldn't bother me if they weren't as rushed

I could honestly rant about the things I don’t love about AEW quite a bit, and it wouldn’t be short, but overall, I think they’re trying to do something unique and quality and for the most part I enjoy what they present and how they present it. And when AEW is really good, it’s my favorite thing to watch in wrestling and if it wasn’t for AEW I probably would be in one of my out periods with pro wrestling as a whole.

AEW hands down probably has the best roster in modern wrestling, has the coolest belt designs, has the best individual divisions in wrestling today and he attempts to give tags and everything equal pushes.

The only real problem is I don’t love his micro booking decisions. I’d be pushing different sets of talent at different times, but I’ve felt that way about most products I watch so if the macro decisions are good, I can let the micro go.
