Raiders did something to restructure Schaub today, making ME think we are posturing ourselves to acquire an expensive player, AKA

SWAG!!
If he hits all the incentives it'll be the same money but being real for a second that'll never happen haha :) His base pay is said to be like $13 mil now spread over the next 2 years while incentives can carry it upto 21 mil. Still good for the Raiders because like stated before there's hardly any chance he'll hit all of his incentives.

Doesn't mean they won't get him, it just wont be via trade. Although it's a little weird why they felt comfortable trading for Schaub when he was on his way out but don't feel comfortable trading for DeSean, oh well. Seahawks & 49ers are two of the other teams that are not interested in trading.

Or in other words, just a matter of time before he joins Gang Green.

3rd rounder vs 6th rounder, and they thought Schaub cut would mean he would sign elsewhere.

As for Swag, it is now obvious he is getting cut, and we can offer him more money in a new deal than other teams + he could come back to CA, so we might feel confident we can sign him off the open market. It will be money + home state vs playing with Vick in NY again

I doubt they will be willing to offer as much as we can after paying Decker, but who knows. They can technically afford to pay him pretty well, but we can afford a lot more that we actually HAVE to pay to get to the salary floor, and who else is there that can be a building block as a free agent signing?

If Oakland/SF/Seattle don't want to trade, I'm expecting the Jets to swoop in and pull it off. Not sure where they are in cap room with all the guys they've lost, plus it's a good fit with his old QB already being there.

Random link: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/03/24/on-desean-jackson-the-truth-is-elusive/

If the Jets don't trade for him, good luck. I'd be skeptical picking him up (the person complaint, not the player) and a Matt Schaub + Desean Jackson connection sounds atrocious lol.

Yeah Sharpy I kinda-posted that about Zuttah earlier, still running around doing flips for that! WOOOOOOOO!

Schaub is a one year stop gap at best, DeSean would be a long term solution. People who think all DeSean does is run 9 routes are very misguided. He is a versatile weapon that any decent playcaller can have a field day drawing up ways to involve him

I think the '9ers are about to fork up a pick for DJax with the Jets moving in slowly, they're feeling the heat and would love to find an opposite for Anquan Boldin. So far they're the only two teams I know still interested in trading, I believe they're upto a 5th round pick but are trying to get a conditional late rd pick for next year in addition or just the straight 3rd perhaps even a 4th now that they've played their hand. Both teams are finding it hard to swallow giving up a mid round pick and paying him that much money, that was the Raiders concern as well so they would rather wait and see if he hits FA.

Eagles optimal Rd 1-3 draft picks w/out D-Jax on the roster are for WR Brandin Cooks and then WR Jordan Matthews in the 2nd followed by S Deone Bucannon in the 3rd.

So much slowness in FA right now but here's some tid bits of the morning/early afternoon.

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/1...ark-davis-signing-richie-incognito-think-that
Raider's Owner Mark Davis is open to signing OL Richie Incognito

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/1...raded-oakland-raiders-gm-reggie-mckenzie-says
Terrelle Pryor hoping to be released or traded after the acquisition of Matt Schaub according to Pryor's agent via GM Reggie McKenzie.

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/10665846/greg-reid-signs-st-louis-rams
StL. Rams bring in ex-Noles standout CB Greg Reid to sign a contract. ACL Surgeries have kept him out after being a stud for the Noles for 3 years. He's healthy to get back into action and the Rams are willing to take a chance, I'm sure it's chump change contract but still may benefit if he converts to the NFL well after being out a few years with an injury.

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/1...-contract-option-picked-gm-martin-mayhew-says
Detroit Lions will not pick up Fairley's 2015 Contract Option; most likely due to the massive amount of money Suh is wanting.

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/10666039/cleveland-browns-agree-terms-paul-mcquistan
Clevland Browns add 30 year old veteran 6'6 315 lb OL Paul McQuistian to the O-Line, he has a chance to start at RG ater Lauvao left to the Redskins.

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/1...-ray-farmer-skip-texas-johnny-manziel-pro-day
Browns GM will skip out on Johnny Manziel pro day; they're saying it may be to cloak his teams intentions for the draft but regardless if he isn't at the pro-day I think they will have some form of scout present.

Well... you know that, I know that, sometimes I question if the Raiders know that but you think they do. Great! It just screams "Randy Moss" to me, but we'll see what happens. :)

Fresno newspapers reporting that you guys are in love with Derek Carr. Would probably just require a tradedown, but as the Steelers GM is saying everyone in this draft is wanting to trade down lol.

IF Cleveland's sudden disinterest in Manziel is a smokescreen, maybe you can trade back with Detroit for Watkins, then trade back again with Baltimore so we can get Mike Evans and you can get Carr at 16. No way he lasts until Round 2.

Rumors flying around the Eagles have signed Mark Sanchez. Nothing has been confirmed, but it is being reported he will sign pending physical.
II say this strongly, I would rather have Schaub..
