Actually, does it make sense for december? September would be a better time because you have constant sales for months.

September/October you have people buying it from the release date and onwards.
Then November/December you have people buying it for people for christmas.

Just look at when the Wii was released, it was constantly sold out everywhere. For a company like Microsoft I'd be highly surprised if it's released in December.

Agreed. It's why FIFA is released in October. The rich/FIFA nerds get it asap, and then a boat load more get them at Christmas.
