It’s official! Kelly Rowland has defied the odds to land the top spot on the Billboard chart!
Full story below….

After 10 weeks on the chart, the 30 year old’s Urban smash ‘Motivation’ hit #1 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Chart. The Lil Wayne assisted cut jumps #2-#1, knocking last week’s chart topper Miguel and his ‘Sure Thing’ into second place. Meanwhile on the Hot 100, the sensual track climbs #26-#21.

Monumental in more ways than one, the feat sees ‘Motivation’ become Rowland’s biggest solo hit to date. A fact made even more noteworthy as it was only ever sent to Urban and Rhythmic radio (not Mainstream nor Pop).

While this is hands down vindication for Rowland, she’ll need to follow-up with another banger, if she and her label are to capitalise on the success of this ahead of the release of her ‘Here I Am’ LP.

For now, though, it’s safe to say: Kelly Rowland – the solo star- has finally arrived!

As if you didn’t know, the release of Beyonce’s ‘4′ album is rapidly approaching. Hence, true to form, the 29 year old has embarked on a media flood ahead of the LP’s June 28th store date.
Her most recent promo spot is the latest edition of Billboard magazine, where she talks about many a topic, including taking a risk with her single ‘Run The World (Girls)’, evolving as an artist, and more.
Excerpt after the jump…

Via Beyonce World:
(Run the World) is exciting in that is has bridges and bounce…and is not the same beat looped over and over again. It’s definitely riskier than something a bit….more simple. But I feel like my job in the industry is to push the limits and I feel like I have to constantly evolve. I can never be safe.
With notions of evolution and creating timeless music often being things Beyonce is critiqued for not doing, it’ll sure be interesting to see if she’s able to back up her claims with her latest batch of material. On the basis of what we’ve heard thus far, I’d be inclined to agree with Bouncy. However, far too often, acts bait the masses with hot singles, only for the album to be dry toast. For Bey’s sake, it needs to be the business.com, as never has there been as much chart competition as there is now (see: Lady GaGa, Rihanna, Britney Spears, and co).

Roll on June 28th…

Beyoncé’s fourth album 4 hit the Internet on Tuesday, a full three weeks ahead of its scheduled release date. The 29-year-old singer has taken to Facebook to address the leak.

“My music was leaked and while this is not how I wanted to present my new songs, I appreciate the positive response from my fans,” she wrote. “When I record music I always think about my fans singing every note and dancing to every beat. I make music to make people happy and I appreciate that everyone has been so anxious to hear my new songs.”
Her label Columbia Records quickly stepped in to take action, removing links and tweets to the music. Sony Music is expected to ship around 1 million units of the album to stores on June 28.
In spite of the leak, will you still be buying Beyoncé album? Let us know.

Singer Michelle Williams is not about to let 2011 go by without making her mark. The brown-skinned beauty and fellow Destiny’s Child member is tired of watching fellow band mates Kelly Rowland and Beyonce Knowles dominate the summer music charts and is now ready to throw her hat into the ring as well.
According to tweets and a video Michelle sent out to her fans, she is prepping to release a new album sometime this year and is presently in Ibiza, Spain shooting the video for her new single “On the Run.”
No word whether Michelle will be going for the dance sound that has been dominating the scene lately or like Kelly, kick that idea to the curb and go straight R & B.

Hot Shots: Kelly Rowland Steps Out In Style In Manchester

‘Motivation’ singer Kelly Rowland turned heads in Manchester yesterday in a daring pair of Giuseppe boots. The 30 year old was in town for the latest round of X Factor UK auditions.
Interesting to see no signs of jet-lag. For, the Destiny’s Child stunner made a dash to Los Angeles over the weekend to continue promotion for her new LP ‘Here I Am’ (due July 26th).

Beyoncé Causes a Frenzy in France

Beyoncé had people trippin’ over her. The international superstar made her way through France’s Nice Airport with her security and mother, Tina Knowles, in tow. Fans and photographers chased her for photos, including one excited young lady who took a fall while trying to get up close with her idol. A concerned B looked back at the girl, who got right back up. The singer has been rehearsing overseas for her upcoming festival gigs and will return to the U.S. to play the “Good Morning America” Summer Concert Series on July 1.

Kelly Rowland looked every bit the superstar she’s becoming as she arrived at the X Factor UK auditions in Manchester today.
The 30 year old stunner is currently riding high on the charts with current single ‘Motivation’. Its follow-up is reportedly a Big Sean assisted track titled ‘Lay It On Me’. Having surfaced tonight in its unfinished form, the official version is set to debut any day now.

<table border="0" cellSpacing="0" cellPadding="6" width="100%"><tbody><tr><td style="border: 1px inset currentColor;" class="alt2">With a new album, 4, on the brink of release, and a European tour starting next week, one would think Beyoncé’s metallic-Minx’d hands are too full to juggle anything else, but she’s been hard at work on another number: three, as in her third fragrance.

“Women always tell me that my music makes them feel strong and confident, and Pulse is about finding that inner power,” the singer, a 16-time Grammy winning, Golden Globe nominated actress, said about her newest creation, Pulse, a floral citrus scent hitting stores in September. ELLE got the exclusive scoop on the juice, its fierce ad campaign and what gets the megastar’s pulse racing.

ELLE: Your first fragrance, Heat, was a huge success. Did you feel any pressure following that up?
BK: I didn’t. The success of Heat was amazing, but why not represent a different side of a woman? Pulse represents the woman I am on stage. When I think about excitement, it makes me think about my heart racing and a pulsating beat*—it’s my stage persona. Heat represents my sensual side, it’s very spicy and Southern. Heat Rush is more about the woman I am on my off time, when I’m on vacation.

ELLE: You’ve been performing your whole life. Does your heart really still race when you get on stage?
BK: Performing at the Billboard Music Awards and on the Oprah farewell show made me so nervous! My heart was pounding out of my chest. But it’s amazing how that nervousness never goes away—it’s my natural response to something exciting and fresh and inspiring. It’s just like when you’re in a relationship. It’s not good when your pulse stops racing. That means you’ve got to spice it up.

ELLE: Why an upside down bottle?
BK: I wanted something modern that incorporated fashion into the overall design, so my stage costumes inspired the upside down chrome cap of the bottle.

ELLE: Are you often inspired by fashion?
BK: I’m inspired by a lot of different designers, but I haven’t bought couture pieces since my last vacation eight or nine months ago. I spent so much money on them, but didn’t wear them at the right time, so now I see other people in magazines wearing them first! Lately I’ve been shopping at Topshop and more affordable places—they have really cute things!

ELLE: After creating four solo albums and three fragrances, have you found any similarities between music and perfume?
BK: I’m learning that they’re very similar! Figuring out the ingredients in a fragrance that complement each other is no different than trying to figure out the combination of melody and lyrics for a song—it’s just as difficult. Both are something that take a lot of hard work. You need to have a strong opinion and know exactly what you want. I use my instincts from writing songs and coming up with videos—all of the things that have developed my taste level—and apply them toward making a fragrance.

ELLE: Like many of your songs, the single “Run the World (Girls)” is an anthem for female empowerment. Do scents ever make you feel empowered?
BK: Fragrance is such an important accessory! I feel incomplete when I don’t have my fragrance on; it’s like putting on your stilettos. When you feel good, when you look good, when you smell good, when you’re fresh, it makes you feel so confident. You feel that much more sexy when you know that you’re going to leave a lasting impression. </td></tr></tbody></table>

Earlier this week the fabulous <nobr style="color: rgb(149, 24, 28);" id="itxthook0w0nobr" class="itxtrst itxtrstnobr itxthooknobr">Beyonce </nobr> appeared on ‘Entertainment Television’ to promote her new deluxe album that will be available exclusively at Target. She gave her fans a behind the scenes peek at her new Target commercial, spoke about being a role model and the story behind the title of her new album ‘4.’
On being a role model
Being a role model is something that I’ve always been. It’s not something I became, it’s something I was already because I had a younger sister and I believe that being a role model is something every woman is even if you don’t realize it. There’s always someone watching you, someone that admires you and I believe we help each other so much and I don’t take being a role model lightly.
On how she named her new album ‘4’
I’m so excited about my new album, it’s called ‘4’ and it’s my fourth album. To be honest with you, my fans actually suggested the number four as the title. I saw for the past year that they kind of claimed it. They just said “were waiting for ‘4’, we’re waiting for ‘4’” and I said “Alright fans, I think you’re right.”
On her new target commercial and deluxe cd
It’s weird because I’ve traveled so many places and didn’t get to see much and we thought that could be an interesting concept for the Target commercial. I think the fans are going to be so excited about this Target deluxe album version because I think some of my favorite songs I saved for Target. I was really, really struggling with out of all the songs which ones were going to be on the deluxe. I am someone that spends a lot of time on making sure that I don’t just give a cropped version of the cover but a fresh new cover and makes sure people really get something different.

Beyonce Knowles just joined a new Hollywood elite as one of the industry's latest stars invited to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences -- you know, the organization behind that little (but-oh-so fabulous) thing called the Oscars.

The singer-actress -- whose new album "4" is slated for release June 28 - has been named among 178 film luminaries invited to the Academy. After starring in films like "Dream Girls," "Cadillac Records," and 2012's upcoming "A Star is Born," it's no wonder she made the list.

Congrats Bey on your invite - fierce as always!

Hot Shot: Beyonce Covers Cleo

The tour de force that is Beyonce sizzles on the cover of Cleo magazine’s July issue. An Australian publication, the magazine is no doubt one of many to come as the singer gears up for a worldwide promotional push for her ‘4′ LP (due June 28th).

Living up to her ‘World Wide Woman’ billing, B plays a sold-out concert in France today.

Beyoncé is a diva onstage, but it sounds like her mother is one all the time.

An onset source for Beyoncé's "Best Thing I Never Had" video, which was shot in Westchester County on Wednesday and in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, on Thursday, tells us although the bootylicious Beyoncé was sweet as sugar on set, it was her mother, Tina Knowles, who demonstrated some serious divalicious 'tude.

According to the insider, the four assistants (count 'em!) the elder Knowles had following her around were calling her "Miss Tina" — "which sounded like a joke." But it wasn't: "The crew was told to call her 'Miss Tina' if they were to talk to her at all," our source reveals.

Her real inner prima donna was displayed on Thursday, while the "prom scene" shoot was filmed at the Brooklyn Masonic Temple near the Pratt Institute. Tina, who heads the House of Deréon fashion label with her eldest daughter, "flipped out on the camera guys for making Beyoncé stand near the [video] extras for too long" because there was too much conversation going on between takes. Apparently, Mama T was "worried" the lowly extras would talk to her darling daughter.

But it was the other way around. Beyoncé "was fine with [talking to anyone]. She was making everyone laugh."

Clad in a purple dress, the 29-year-old singer was talking to the cast and crew about how not being prom queen in the video reminded her of how she never wore the coveted tiara at her own high school dance.

But not everything in this video mirrored reality: Our onset source tells us Beyoncé said it was "weird" not to have her real father, Matthew Knowles, walk her down the aisle in the wedding scene, which took place in a Sleepy Hollow country club on Wednesday. (Beyoncé was escorted down the aisle by her father when she wed Jay-Z in April 2008 in the rapper's Tribeca apartment.)

As we reported late last week, Beyoncé flew in from Nice, France, where she was rehearsing a show to film the Diane Martel-directed video. It's no surprise then that rumors flew among cast and crew that Beyoncé's hubby was in his wife's trailer last Thursday in Brooklyn, but sources didn't actually spy the mogul on the set.

A spokeswoman for Beyoncé with reference to Tina Knowles did not get back to us by press time.
