Ugh...

So...apart from Jim making an ass of himself
again was the 7th episode of Powerrr good?

I won't get to actually watch it for a couple of
days yet.

Umm, could you clairify exactly what you mean?

Because Equity means, and i quote "The quality of being fair and impartial" The other uses involves shares within a company. But seeing as that guy mentioned diversity and inclusiveness..im pretty sure hes refering to the former.

Equity = equality of outcome. Very bad.
Give this a read.

Tag me in your profile post if you respond, don't wanna take this off-topic any longer.

I quite liked it, they're building towards the ppv.

Cornettes might be referencing the famine in Ethiopia in the 80s.

Ethiopian jokes were a thing when I was a kid. It's also a variation of one of those jokes.

Still very bad taste now.

Can we talk about how classy Nick Aldis is? He might be my second favorite British person ever (even if it is a very short list xD)

Sounds good...

I hope I get a chance to see it.

A true Professional...

He's possibly the best example of what
a Wrestling World Champion should be.

Basically the Jim Cornette situation is the same as what happened to Hockey Analyst Don Cherry this past week.

Two old school broadcast colleagues that may know what they are doing, but are falling behind the trends, and who have said some questionable stuff before saying something which crosses a line and goes into poor taste and racism. For Cherry it was ranting about immigrants "Coming here and taking his honey and rice" when he was talking about Remembrance Day. For Cornette it is bringing up a joke which wasn't needed, hasn't aged well and overshadowed a main event.

It is a point where society as a whole has changed and sure, maybe you don't agree with it, but you need to be able to read a room and know when it is appropriate and when it isn't.

You can hate AEW, flips, small wrestlers, and comedy wrestling all you want, but racist shit shouldn't have a place in wrestling, or society, these days, period.

Very true...

As I said somewhere recently...Cornette is a wrestling relic from a bygone age...
and its these kind of incidents that prove that nostalgia can be a double edged
sword in some cases.

but racist shit shouldn't have a place in wrestling, or society, these days, period.
Bingo!

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner...

Before I give my thoughts on this Week's NWA Powerr Episode I would like to give my thoughts on the Cornette situation. Like I said before I don't consider him a racist, but it was a racist statement that came from his Mouth. He has to understand in the World we live in you can't say this and not expect backlash from people. Cornette being gone, the Editor needs to be gone as well because clearly that went over his head during the editing of the Show. It almost makes me feel like he was sleeping during that whole time if you've missed that from Cornette's Mouth. Now I come from a family where my Father was Homophobic and he was set in his ways and extremely judgmental with any little thing he didn't like these days. It wasn't till my younger brother came out, is that when he changed as a person and I have a better relationship with him even through his Divorce with my Mother the past Year. That is a rarity I feel and this is Cornette's wake up call to understand what line you should cross. I will say I love him as a Commentator generally and Manager, but my respect for him was broken to a degree after this. Also please don't tell how I should feel about comments like these. The last thing I wanna see is someone tell me and speak about something when they don't have the right to do so. Anyways done with the negative now to the positive with this show this Week.

Great opening Segment going into the Match with Murdoch. Aldis puts over and tells a story about Murdoch and himself, then pulls the Rug from under us and tells us this is a Exhibition Match because he is not deserving of a NWA Title Match. You know Apollo got killed in a Exhibition Match was well, but Aldis survives and keeps continuing to be a MVP for them. Moments after we see The Rock and Roll Express keep the fans juiced and later Wild Card breaks up the party with their own comments. Kamille and Tom are just friends my ass, it's making me think Aldis passes her around like if she's apart of Mayans crew. A very interesting angle going on with Cabana/Starks/Stevens/Question Mark. The NWA fans are so fickle, I wonder if they keep supporting Question Mark when he's revealed to be the person we know who he is?

The confrontation between Anderson and Drake perfect storm to watch. Drake finally went darkside and shut him up now were cooking with Drake Daddy like. Vox/Kay vs Rosa/Belle. As much as I want to talk about how great Rosa is and how I'm looking forward to her winning the NWA Women's Title eventually, I must talk about Melina Perez showing up. Back during her WWE days I was in love with her like Mickie James so to see her apart of this group woo buddy my Blood Pressure is high right now. She is the Phoenix Rosa was talking about now slay everyone who gets in your ways mamacitas. Kay better find some buddies outside of Vox because this is one dangerous group.

The Main Event was okay even with the fans fueling it so much. I expected as much for Stevens to do what he loves to do, but Storm had me pounding on tables with him. The last thing I wanna see is goofy idiots like Question Mark get over, rather a guy like Starks. I loved how he called out pretty much the Writing/Booking Team and all that mouth was closed when Kamille showed up. So safe to say they went to bang right?

Powerrr #7 Thoughts:
~ Nick Aldis...the REAL World Champion...I'd agree with that...
~ Well...I don't think Trevor Murdoch deserves a World title shot...
~ And Aldis/Murdoch was a quick but solid match...with Murdoch
looking very sharp & mobile for a man of his size...
~ Also on the version I watched Cornette's controversial comment
had been edited out...
~ The Rock 'N' Roll Express are back again...these guys are everywhere...
~ And The Wild Cards remind me of the Dark Order...as in they don't work...
~ Colt Cabana on commentary...
~ The Question Mark vs. Ricky Starks...
~ The Question Mark is more over than Seth Rollins at this point in time...
or at least he is in that small studio...
~ And Aron Stevens shows up & ruins the match...
~ And now Drake & Anderson are fighting...
~ I'm looking forward to the Into the Fire pay per view...hopefully we get
to see Aldis vs. Storm again...
~ Allysin Kay/Ashley Vox vs. Thunder Rosa/Marti Belle...
~ Thunder Rosa reminds me of a fusion Rosemary & Ruby Riott...which is
great because I like both those women...
~ Also can we get Allysin Kay vs. Thunder Rosa at the pay per view...
~ And Melina is here? Okay...
~ And Thunder Rosa pins Allysin Kay...Nice...although I will admit I'm
completely indifferent to Melina...
~ Starks/Cabana vs. Stevens/? Give the Question Mark a World title shot!
I mean he doesn't deserve one...but he's over. That how that works right?
~ Is the Question Mark meant to be as over as he is?
~ Would they direct the crowd to cheer for the Question Mark like that?
~ And Stevens & The Question Mark get the win...
~ James Storm is here...
~ And oh my...Kamille makes me want Death by Snu Snu...

Now while the "Cornette Controversy" has drawn the wrong kind of
attention to the NWA this week...I still found this episode of Powerrr
a highly entertaining show.

I like the performers, I like the studio set up, I like the overall presentation...
BUT I am very curious to see who takes Cornette's place going forward as
the man (despite his own views & opinions) did add a certain old school
energy & voice to the product.

I do hope the NWA as a whole are able to move forward quickly & continue
to deliver these great episodes of Powerrr.

Cornettes been reported about in mainstream media.

NWA ditched him and it may draw more eyes to to product.

Like I said before I don't consider him a racist, but it was a racist statement that came from his Mouth.

My first thought about the Ethiopia comment was that it was to do with chicken and starving people, race didn't even cross my mind until @Solid Snake said it to me. I can't be the only one.
It definitely makes more sense that it's about starving Ethiopians, right?
