Remember something...nowhere is exactly "safe." Sorry that you had to go through that though, I know how scary that must have been. But, honestly, I've learned to be alert no matter where I am at.

Those things happen. You need to be careful of your surroundings and keep a sharp mind on you. I have lived in many large cities and tried to remain calm and alert whenever I was out. The instant you put your guard down something crazy happens.

Like Pork said, it happens. About 6 years ago there was this Asian guy going into elementary schools in my city offering girls candy. The cops found him after a couple weeks at a nearby College and found a loaded gun in his car. Imagine what would have happened if they hadn't found him.

This is ridiculous. The media makes those who are guilty of these shootings celebrities, that mixed with the celebrity based culture and a warped mind is a BAD mix for a country with lax gun laws. Then there are those who say that the way to fight it is arming the teachers. Fucking ridiculous backwards way of thinking driven by the NRA and their cold dead hands. The right to bear arms was for hunting mainly, what kind of deer needs to be taken down with an assault rifle. Guns should have been banned a long time ago, because clearly the US can't handle them. REALLY annoys me how some people can't see this as an option. At the very least, if guns remain legal, ammunition should be very expensive so people can think twice before shooting someone GTA style.

These things happen all over the world not just in America the problem is in our media not the laws themselves. If the media continues to make the gunmen martyrs then nothing will change.

Just need to take precaution where you go and things will be fine for the most part and don't go out late at night to places that could put you and the ones you are with in danger.

I know we give you a hard time around here but I'm glad nothing happened, it's crappy this stuff happens and honestly nothing will stop it from happening.
