Well it is on April 1st....
Yep, Cena/Rock ends with a fingerpoke of doom and there is no cell.
- We can now confirm that Lilian Garcia and members of the National Guard will be singing "America the Beautiful" to open WrestleMania 28 in Miami on April 1st.
-- As of last week, the plan was to open the event with Chris Jericho vs. CM Punk. There was talk over the past week or so that Jericho would cut a promo before the match. The Hell in a Cell match would air somewhere in the middle of the event and The Rock vs. John Cena will headline. Of course, that can easily change.
-- It's likely the Hell in a Cell cage will already be set up and then they'll roll it out and lift it up and over the ring before the match. We're still awaiting word from several crew members working on the set as to how they will be going about setting up the cage.
-- There is expected to be fireworks shot off during and after the show from a field nearby.
-- Crew members from WWE and numerous independent companies began unloading production trucks on Monday. The staff is split into several crews and they are working on a round the clock basis.
-- As noted earlier, a photo has been leaked online showing the production set-up of the set for Wrestlemania 28 in Miami at the Sun Life Stadium. The layout shows the outline of the ring entrance and floor seating, as well as initial construction of what will hang over the ring in the stadium. If you're interested, you can click here to view it. Obviously, they are in the VERY early stages of setting things up.
-- According to Weather.com, the weather in Miami, FL is listed as sunny, clear skies on Friday and Saturday for AXXESS. Sunday's weather projection hasn't been released yet but temperatures will range between 70-83 degrees.
Teddy vs. Johnny would probably be later if you ask me. Just like Cole/Lawler from last year.If Chris Jericho vs CM Punk opens the show I'd be happy. That's a good idea. It's gets the crowd pumped with a fantastic match. Here's how I see the card going.
Chris Jericho vs CM Punk for the WWE Championship
Cody Rhodes vs The Big Show for the Intercontinental Championship
Team Johnny vs Team Teddy for control of both brands
The Undertaker vs Triple H in a hell in a cell match
Kelly Kelly and Maria Menounos vs Eve and Beth Phoenix
Daniel Bryan vs Sheamus for the World Heavyweight Championship
Kane vs Randy Orton
John Cena vs The Rock
I'm going to play along and shift these around a bit....I still don't buy the WWE title opening the PPV. I know the World Title did last year, but WWE have always treated the WWE title with more pride and prestige than it's sister title. Look at this past year and how many World Heavyweight Title matches have main evented PPV's as proof of that.
My prediction:
Team Teddy vs. Team Johnny
Randy Orton vs. Kane
Daniel Bryan vs. Sheamus
Kelly & Maria vs. Beth & Eve
The Undertaker vs. Triple H
Big Show vs. Cody Rhodes
CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho
Rock vs. Cena
