Backstage: Evolution are talking, Hunter says everyone knows what the deal is. They argue on who gets to nail him first, Hunter says he lost the most and wants everyone on the same page when Eugene comes in. Well, Eugene comes in with his Blue UPSET look. He says he made a mistake and apologizes to them, they all stare him down, but Triple H has a big smile on his face and says not to worry, everyone makes mistakes. He says the important thing is, friends are friends. He says his uncle is mad though and says he wants to see Eugene. He leaves, and Orton asks what that was about. Hunter says that when they learn what Eric has to say, they'll see.

Tonight: Kane and Lita on the Highlight Reel.

Edge vs. Batista
Very enjoyable, Batista uses his power advantage early, they do some nice things with Edge using his quickness but he's running into a brick wall. Batista doesn't really work a body part, he just using his body to wear down Edge like using his knee to apply the pressure to Edge's head and neck. They really play off Edge having a hard time knocking Batista off his feet, so we get a lot of Batista stumbling around with his hands swaying back and forth like one of those Bayley entrance things. Orton comes down but is quickly ejected for tripping up Orton. He continues to just punish Edge, it's really amazing how far Batista has come since January. His power offense looks great, and so does his holds. Edge makes a nice comeback, of course not selling anything. They have a nice finishing stretch with both men trading near falls. Batista counters the spear into a spinebuster attempt, but Edge slides down and counters into a schoolboy, and grabs the top rope for the win. **3/4

Backstage: Eugene goes into uncle Eric's office, Eugene asks if he's mad at him. Eric says he's furious...that people are blaming him. He says Eugene made a mistake and he's not mad, the truth is he's proud of him. He made him proud when he was the GM. He says he's finally convinced him, he belongs, Eric says the best part of being the GM is he can do whatever he wants. So he books Eugene vs. Benoit ~ FOR THE WORLD TITLE! TONIGHT!

Jerry "THE KING" Lawler interviews Diva Search hopeful Candice Michaelle

Backstage: Todd Grisham interviews Ric Flair, Flair says Evolution has gone on record wishing Eugene the best of luck. Flair then beings talking about his autobiography that has just gone on sale. He Hurricane then interrupts and asks him to sign his book. Ric refuses and says he knows who he is, he says they're in the same profession the only difference is HE (Ric) became a legend while the Hurricane is a joke. Hurricane says he's not that mad that Ric won't sign his book because Flair's book wasn't as good as Rock's, Hogan's, or even Chyna's. And it certainly wasn't #1 like Mick Foley's book! At this, Flair punches Hurricane out and yells that he's going to teach him respect in the ring.

Backstage: Benoit and Regal are talking, Regal says he knows Evolution and Eric are up to something but doesn't know what. Benoit says he likes Eugene, but his title is on the line. He says he will do whatever it takes to retain his title.

Chris Jericho is in the ring for the Highlight Reel, Jericho talks about all he's done in the WWE and says nothing compared to when he won the first ever WWE musical chairs. He says he can sit and talk about his musical chairs match all night long, but he has to talk to his guests who have deep issues, and if he's learnt anything by watching RAW is you don't have these convo's in the back privately, you have them in the middle of the ring Jericho brings out KANE, who demands Lita come out right now. And Lita comes out, Kane says she's made her angry and bad things happen when he's angry, Lita then grabs the mic and says Kane ain't about to do a thing, she says she made a big mistake and pays for it every day, she says he knows nothing about suffering. Suffering is being possibly pregnant by a man she despises and the one man she loves won't talk to her. She says she's gonna do what she wants when she wants and their's nothing HE can do about it. YOU SICK SON OF A BITCH! Kane says she's right, he can't do anything to her but he can make sure that Matt doesn't see the day HIS baby is born. Lita says a few weeks ago that might have scared her, well after last night she knows Matt can fight his own battles. SHE says she knows KANE isn't the dad because MATT is more of a man than he'll ever be. Lita leaves and Kane begins tearing up the set. Jericho goes to stop him but gets thrown to the floor. Kane goes to leave, but Jericho grabs the mic and makes fun of Kane's "premature ejaculation" and says WWE can cancel the Diva Search because KANE IS THE WINNER!

Chris Jericho vs. Kane
They have flashes of goodness, but for the most part, it's still awkward at times and they still have no chemistry together. Kane works the back, he does some okayish back holds as Jericho half ass sells it, he does have a nice comeback but Kane low blows him for the DQ. After the match; Kane hits he and the ref with the double chokeslam. **

The Hurricane vs. Ric Flair
This starts off great, Hurricane is mad and takes the fight to Flair with awesome punches and great aggression, Flair is Flair so he bumps around and has some fun comedy stuff. Flair begins targeting the arm, it's really great, and so was Hurricane's selling. Sadly Hurricane just stops selling it and they go right into trading stuff, before Flair starts working the leg, he ends up applying the Figure four for the win. Okay then. **1/4

Backstage: Chris Benoit goes over to Eugene, he tells Eugene that he just wants to wrestle Eugene tonight, he warns him he will do whatever it takes to retain his title.

WWE World Heavyweight Championship: Eugene vs. Chris Benoit
So this is a fucking mess, like Eugene a fucking Blue ADULT outwrestles your world champion and the guy that is universally knowing as the best technical wrestler on the planet. Benoit goes to end it early as he hits the German's but misses the Diving Headbutt and ends up reinjuring his bruised sternum. Eugene has some success when he does his stuff, but as soon as he starts mimicking wrestlers that allows Benoit to counter and get the momentum back. RETARDAMANIA starts running wild, and Eugene starts stealing Benoit's stuff, two German's and locks in the crossface but Benoit gets to the ropes. Benoit tries a crossface of his own but Eugene sends him shoulder-first into the ring post. Eugene then hits the Rock Bottom and Eugene thinks he won after Benoit got his foot on the ropes, as Evolution comes down. Eugene grabs the belt, and Hunter applauds but walks over and PUNCHES HIM IN THE JAW!

Evolution put the boots to Benoit, but Eugene tries to break it up so Batista kills him with a LARIAT! Flair holds Eugene up as Hunter hits a Pedigree. Regal tries to make the save but again Batista stops him, they put the boots to him and NOW Eugene breaks free he attacks Evolution but Batista locks in a full nelson stopping him. Orton RKO's Regal and takes him out. They hold Eugene up and Triple H begins beating the shit out of him. They all take turns beating the shit out of him. Orton hits an RKO, Dave hits the Batista bomb. Hunter busts him open with punches and continues to attack the cut before hitting the pedigree. Eugene tries to get up so Hunter KICKS HIM IN THE FACE! FUCKKK YEAH! JR calls Evolution "NO GOOD BASTARDS"

Recap of the Cena/Kurt/Booker fuckery from last week.

Tonight: Eddie/JBL ~ CAGE MATCH! WWE CHAMPIONSHIP!

Booker T comes down to the ring, he says Booker T is all about championships, I AM A 5 TIME WCW CHAMPION! He shits on the crowd for not being a 1-time champion. He says he came out here to get what he deserves the US championship, he says he didn't lose last week. It's simple, he says he knows Kurt has a lot on his mind with being attacked by Cena, so that's why he wasn't handed the title on the spot. He asks Kurt to come out and present him with the title, please. Rene Dupree comes out instead, he says Booker is right, Cena should not be the champ and neither should he. He says it's a known fact American's can't cut it as US champ, they have no culture. And their sure isn't any here in Rhode Island, you name your arena after a DONUT! Rene says the next US champ needs culture, and class and needs to be French. Kenzo Suzuki and Hiroko come out, Kenzo cuts his promo as Hiroko translates, she says Kenzo said the person who should be the US champ should love the US and no one loves America like Kenzo. Booker begs him to say something in English, and KENZO SAYS CAN YOU DIG IT? SUCKKKKAAAAAAA! All 3 argue as Cena comes out, and shits on them. He calls them the new wizard of Oz. He calls Booker the scarecrow, and Kenzo has no balls so he's the tin man. Cole is the Lolipop kid, and Rene is the cowardly Frenchmen. Cena says this is Cena Country and the CHAMP IS HERE! Cena says Kurt stole something of his, and he wants it back.

Backstage: Cena barges into Kurt's office, Kurt begs off and says Cena did this to himself, he says you wouldn't hit a man in a wheelchair again? Cena lifts Kurt out of the chair but Luther attacks him from behind, but Cena gets the upper hand and throws him through a FAKE WALL! Security holds Cena back as Kurt says tonight is a night that no one will forget especially Cena.

Rey Mysterio & Spike Dudley vs. Chavo Guererro & Jamie Knoble
So this is fun, a lot like last week. Chavo and Jamie are great crash test dummies as Spike and Rey semi-rule as a team, good spots and dives. Rey was super on his game in terms of spots and crisp offense, Chavo pulls Rey down before he can go for his seated senton. Koble and Chavo never really get that long iso time which is different, but they bump off everything. The match ends with Noble again having the match won, but D-Von runs through the crowd and distracting the ref which allows Bubba to low blow Noble from the back and Spike covers for the win. **1/2

Spike sees them and yells "LEAVE ME ALONE"

RAW REBOUND!

Recap of the Eddie/JBL feud since The Great American Bash.

Backstage: Kurt is with EMT's asking if Luther will be okay, he then says to the doctor he felt he knee pop in the cast when Cena picked him up. He tells Luther Cena will pay and books Cena vs. Booker/Rene/Kenzo. And again says tonight is a night, no one will forget.

3 on 1 Handicap Elimination Match: Rene Dupree, Booker T & Kenzo Suzuki (w/Hiroko) vs. John Cena
This is pretty meh, at the start it's just 3 basic one on one matches. Rene/Cena do their usual stuff, Cena/Kenzo is ass, too much Kenzo NINJA SHIT! He ends up getting DQ's when he pulls off one of Hiroko's rope pieces off and chokes Cena with it. Then like 1 minute later Cena rolls up Rene and eliminates him. WHAT WAS THE POINT?!?!?!?! Booker/Cena do their usual, it's like all their other matches. Luther runs down to throw Cena into the post, he rolls him in and Booker hits the Scissors Kick for the win. Really wasted opportunity. **

Heidenreich PROMO! HE'S WITH HEYMAN! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Backstage: Josh Mathews interviews Eddie Guererro, he asks Eddie about EGL and Eddie says he really likes his style and they're tight. He says he uses all of EGL stuff. He says that's why JBL ran last week, but no running this week. It's, do or die, homes. He says tonight he will get HIGH! and become WWE Champion.

Ric Flair book HYPE!

D-Von Dudley (w/Bubba-Ray Dudley) vs. Paul London (w/Billy Kidman)
This is fun, largely due to London's bumping and Bubba being a loudmouth on the floor. And him snapping, whipping Kidman with his leather belt and using it to clothesline London with it. He rolls London back in but London rolls D-Von up for the win.

Backstage: Again Kurt tells Luther that tonight is a night that Cena will forget, he books Luther vs. Cena next week. He says it's time for the cage match, and tonight is the night no one will ever never forget.

Steel Cage Match for the WWE Championship: John Bradshaw Layfield vs. Eddie Guererro
Before the match, both men sell the match with their eyes alone. JBL looking nervous and concerned, while Eddie just has a giant smile on his face, super bouncy and happy as this is his match. And knowing JBL can't run. So this rules, Eddie tries to use the cage as a weapon, but JBL is so much bigger and blocks, they brawl some and Eddie eats the cage first. JBL immediately goes climbing out, but Eddie pulls him back down. I love that JBL wants no part of this, so after every move, he tries to escape over the top. While Eddie just wants to take his time. He goes for the Frog Splash off the top rope early, but JBL rolls away and Eddie crashes and burns. JBL again tries to leave but Eddie stops him, he hits the 3 amigos but takes too much time allowing JBL to catch him up top with a Superplex off the top rope as we go to a commercial. When we return, Eddie low blows JBL and now it's both men constantly trying to win if it isn't trying to leave over the top, it's trying a pinfall after every move. Eddie hits a Russian Legsweep off the top rope but he's too hurt to make the cover. That allows JBL to recover, he then applies a sleeper but uses his wrist tape to choke him. WHICH FUCK YEAH! HEEL ANTICS! Eddie uses JBL's momentum against him and sends JBL into the cage, he begins throwing JBL headfirst into the cage 4-5 times. Kinda, weird how Cole and Taz talk up how JBL doesn't like this match, which is weird considering how he's a brawler in a Rich guy gimmick, but okay. But if they're using that story that tells it well with Eddie being the one to utilize the cage more and JBL only using it out of desperation. CRAZY! that JBL hit the Clothesline from hell, as a tease spot for the very last commercial break. Awesome moment with JBL going to the fallaway slam, but gets this sick grin on his face, he goes to do it into the cage but Eddie countered into a spinning DDT. He goes to leave but JBL catches him up top. He pulls him back down and nails his powerbomb for two. Now it's JBL trying to leave, but Eddie catches him and kicks him off. Eddie then climbs up....................BUT DECIDES FUCK IT! AND HITS A FROG SPLASH OFF THE TOP! He hurts his ribs and can't make the cover tho. He would eventually make the cover but JBL kicks out. Both men are slow to get up, and out of instinct, JBL connects with a DDT. He now begins climbing out, ever so slowly, selling the beating, Eddie is with him step for step. They begin brawling up top but El Gran Luchadore ran down and climbed into the ring, he pulls Eddie down allowing JBL to fall to the floor for the win. ****

After the match; EL Gran Luchadore taunts Eddie, he tries to leave through the door but it's chained shut. He then tries to climb over the top as Eddie recovers and chases him up. Eddie pulls off the mask and EL GRAN LUCHADORE IS KURT ANGLE! HE'S NOT A CRIPLLED! HOLY SHIT! SWERVE!

RECAP OF EVOLUTION BEATING THE SHIT OUT OF EUGENE!

Triple H comes down to the ring, he says he knows a lot of people are not happy with what he did last week. He says he's not so proud of himself either, he says he's done a lot of things in the past, and last week was below even for him. What he did to Eugene last week made him feel rotten and terrible. He says he feels horrible and sick. I felt pain, Hunter says he started to think can he feel this bad with what he did, and just when he started to think. POOOOOOP SOUNDS! HE FARTED! he says he felt better. He says he knows Eugene is sitting at home and tells him to listen up, move closer to the TV. I WANT YOU TO HEAR THIS! EUGENE! I HATE YOU! I WAS NEVER YOUR FRIEND! I don't like you, Evolution doesn't like you. EVOLUTION HATES YOU. EVERYBODY HATES YOU! He says the fans BOOOOO him because he's an embarrassment. He says even Eugene's own mom thinks you're an embarrassment and is ashamed of you. He says he did the world a favor, and he has no business being in the WWE or trying to be normal. He shows footage of Regal and Benoit helping Eugene on the stretcher last week when RAW went off the air, he calls Benoit pathetic for crying. Uncle Eric comes out, he agrees with Triple H and says he talked with his sister and it's official. Eugene is gone from the WWE. He says Triple H deserves a reward, he brings up the Cage Match from SD and says he's gonna outdo them. It's gonna be Chris Benoit vs. Triple H in a 60 minute Iron Man match for the World Championship next week. He gives Hunter the night off to prepare, but Benoit will be in action tonight against BATISTA! Hunter says nobody can hang with him for 60 minutes and is gonna give him a reason to cry. William Regal comes out. He says they must be proud of what they did to that poor boy, he says he may be pathetic for crying and is not scared of them. He tells Eugene to watch cause this is for him. THEY HAVE THIS AWESOME FIGHT! Until security comes out to break it up.

Tonight: Orton/Edge III & 10 RAW Divas Search Finalists

Sylvan Granier (w/Rob Conway) vs. Tajiri (w/Rhyno)
POOR!

The Highlight Reel is set up in the ring, Jericho is already in it. He hypes up the crowd before introducing all 10 Diva Search finalists. Jericho says starting tonight fans across the world will vote, and the woman with the least amount of votes will be gone. Michelle, Christy, Julia, Camille, Maria, Tracie, Carmella, Chandra, Amy, AND JOY Jericho says in WWE anything can happen, he says in Eric's office, there's an immunity envelope, whoever finds it will be safe this week. So Jericho leads the girls back to Eric's office, they go to his office and totally wreck it, and Eric comes in and yells at them. He says there is no immunity envelope and finds out it was Chris Jericho who did it. Eric says Jericho isn't in charge, he is and yells at them all to leave.

Tyson Tomko (w/Trish Stratus) vs. The Hurricane (w/Stacy Keibler)
NO!

Rosey is now graduated from Super Hero In Training and now has his own superhero outfit chases off Tomko.

Backstage: Flair and Batista are walking and talking when Hunter pulls them aside to talk about Dave's match.

Jerry Lawler is reading parts of Flair's book where he shits on Bret and Foley.

Chris Benoit vs. Batista (w/Ric Flair)
Shocker, this ruled. Benoit tries his normal punishment offense but Batista eats his chops. They do a phenomenal job building Dave up, E.G. Batista eats the triple German's early and is already back to his feet before Benoit can even get to the apron. They also tell the story of Batista hurting and punishing Benoit instead of trying to win, softening him up for next week. They two awesome spots on the floor, one with Dave missing the clothesline and hitting the ringpost, but he's still too strong and uses that arm to throw Benoit off the crossface into the ringpost. Batista continues just to clobber and destroy Benoit, everything gets to the 4 count by the ref. Like he's not even trying to cover, just like he did against Jericho just using his body as a weapon or applying a body part as pressure to Benoit's neck. But he doesn't focus on it like 70% is neck but he also does to the chest or back. AWSOME Batista mounts as he just rains down with punches. Sadly the match ends when Batista hangs Benoit's foot on the ropes hanging him upside down to the floor. He then puts the boots to his head 3 or 4 times before the ref calls for the DQ. JR eventually catches on and says this must have been Hunter's masterplan. Batista then hits the Batista Bomb leaving Benoit out on the mat. Awesome Angle match, maybe the best TV one ever. ***

In the parking lot. Lita finds Matt. Matt says he doesn't know how to take all of this, she says that's fine, she loves him to death and would love them to be together. She says she's gonna have this baby with or without him.

Todd Grisham interviews Randy Orton, he lists off all his wins and calls Edge a fluke. He says Edge's 1st IC champion reign laster 1 day, while his lasted 7 months. He says tonight he's gonna get his title back. Edge comes over, he says he didn't come back after 14 months to be a statistic on Orton's t-shirt. He says he has Orton figured out, He says Orton has confidence issues, but he understands because he'd have them too if his dad made a living being Roddy Piper's personal bitch. And said if Cowboy Bob wore a condom instead or a cast, we wouldn't even be having this covo. BRUH! Orton says when he gets done with him tonight, Edge will be his BITCH!

Chris Jericho vs. Kane
Much like last week, lots of clubbing Kane offense. Jericho is fine, but I just can't get into it. Jericho does have a nice comeback tho. He hits the running bulldog but Kane rolls out of the way of the Lionsault. They fight onto the floor, with Jericho sending Kane into the ring post twice and hits the step up enzuigiri Jericho rolls in at 8 but Kane can't so Jericho wins. Eric comes out and restarts the match, and makes it falls count anywhere. This goes a couple more minutes, it much better than the normal match as Jericho can use his body as a weapon with dives and Kane is so much better when he doesn't have to wrestle and can fight. They end up fighting into the crowd, Jericho drop toe holds Kane into one of the hockey boards and hits him with one of the camera cranes, but as he goes for the cover Batista breaks it up, he throws Jericho into the board and nails the KO Lariat. Kane covers for the win. **3/4

Coachman brings out the Diva Searches participants who are wearing bikini's VOTING IS NOW OPEN~!

SMACKDOWN REBOUND!

Next Week: Benoit/HHH - 60 MINUTE IRON MAN MATCH FOR THE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP!

WWE Intercontinental Championship: Randy Orton vs. Edge
This gets 15 minutes which is much shorter than the PPV and much better but still doesn't touch the May match. They have a solid brief exchange on the mat before Edge targets Orton's arm, Edge uses a lot of Orton's arm work that he's done to him since Edge has been back against him, so that's cool. But, Orton hits his back/neck breaker move and now targets Edge's back, while totally forgetting the arm. Orton hits a backdrop onto the rails and applies pressure with a modified camel clutch. Once Edge fights out they kinda just drop the back work altogether and do their awesome forearm exchange before exchanging near falls. Edge goes for a crossbody off the top, but Orton ducks and the ref gets taken out. Orton then pokes him in the eyes and grabs a chair. But, Edge hits the spear, no ref so no count. Orton then low blows Edge and nails the RKO, the ref slowly comes to, but Edge kicks out. Edge then hits a desperation spear but Orton now kicks out. Orton goes for another RKO, but Edge counters into a backslide and again puts his feet on the ropes for the win. ***

GM Kurt Angle comes out, with Luther, Kurt is still in a wheelchair but has no cast on his leg this week. Kurt says there have been a lot of talk about his actions last week, he says he's heard it all, he's a liar and a con artist and it hurts. He says the people have no idea what they're talking about. He's an extraordinary human that does extraordinary things. I WON AN OLYMPIC GOLD MEDAL WITH A BROKEN NECK! Kurt says when he saw Eddie last week almost regain the championship, I sucked up the pain and did what I had to do to ensure it didn't happen. Kurt says he believes in miracles, but after his doctors told him he further damaged his knee and risked permanent damage. But Kurt says it was worth it. To see guys like Eddie and Cena fail, while guys like JBL rise to the top. He says he could fire Eddie, but he's not gonna do that. He wants Eddie to come out, get on his knees and beg for his job. If not he's fired. Kurt then brings "Ring Announcer" Tony Chimel into the ring, he uses him as an example of what Eddie has to do to keep his job. But fires Tony anyway

Josh Mathews is now the ring announcer for the night.

Triple Threat #1 Contenders Match for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship: Chavo Guererro vs. Jamie Noble vs. Spike Dudley
This is fun for 5 minutes, Chavo and Jamie team up for a bit with Spike doing a fun job fighting off the odds. That team ends rather quickly once Chavo accidentally elbows Jamie after Spike moves. For the most part, all the moves and spots are good. It#s the usual one-on-one but the only difference is the 3rd wrestler sells in the ring, instead of the floor. For some reason, the ref is doing the 10 count after Spike hit's a crossbody off the top to the floor whipping out both men. The match ends when Spike hits the Dudley Dog for the win. **1/2

Bubba-Ray Dudley (w/D-Von Dudley) vs. Billy Kidman (w/Paul London)
Bubba tries his bully offense but Kidman doesn't back down, and for the first time this year Kidman looks great. His strikes are not smooth but he's throwing them like he's in a real fight. Just throwing a mix of punches, forearms and elbows going nuts in the corner. Bubba is fine, his offense looks garbage but he's doing a great job of bumping. D-Von gets involved shoving Kidman off the top allowing Bubba to hit the Bubba bomb for the win. **1/2

Backstage: Funaki is with Kurt Angle and Luther, Kurt says WWE finally has a superstar he can be proud of, he brings in Booker T. He says he would love to hand him over the US Championship, Booker is in shock. But Kurt says he can't technically do it, but as soon as Smackdown ends he has a meeting with the board of directors and if the meeting goes well he will be the US Champ but next week. But, as for tonight he's gonna let Booker hold the title. Funaki says dats not fair, Kurt says Funaki is a disgrace to Smackdown and the English language and fires him.

JBL comes down to the ring, he says he has cemented himself in Wrestling History when he won what is being called the greatest Steel Cage match in history He says in a city that needs champions, he's willing to be their champion. He tries to start another "JBL" chant but it's just BOOOOOOO's He says the Eagles are bridesmaids, the 76'ers are basically dead and the Flyers well Hockey is a Canadian spot so he doesn't watch He brings over a local talent and gives him an oppitunity, if he wins he gets a title match at SSlam for the WWE Championship.

He then says he just remembered he has a match for SSlam, yeah, it's JBL vs. Shannon Moore He says the buyrates are through the roof. JBL says he's gonna give Taker an easy out, he gives in to the count of 5 to leave but he doesn't and the 5 count takes like one minute JBL goes to sucker punch him but Taker grabs the throat and hits a Chokeslam. Taker grabs the mic and yells "YOU...ME...SUMMERSLAM"

D-Von Dudley (w/Bubba-Ray Dudley) vs. Rey Mysterio
D-Von tries his version of bully offense but it's not even close to Bubba's, but he does have a much better showing on offense cause Rey's bumping this past month has been awesome. He really goes above and beyond to make D-Von's stuff look great. D-Von works the back, but it's Rey so he doesn't sell it like at all. Rey has a solid comeback, he goes for the 619 but Bubba trips him up, that leads to The Tag champs getting some revenge bt attacking him on the floor. As the ref is dealing with that, Kidman sneaks off and pushes D-Von off the top allowing Rey to hit the 619 & Big Splash for the win. **1/4

They don't have any chemistry together like at all, and Luther's still so green. He's just a generic big man doing bland and boring stuff. Cena tries to bump around for him but just gives him mid-way. Booker comes out with the US after a ref bump, Booker asks Luther to hold him up, he goes to hit him with the title but Cena ducks and Booker nails Luther allowing Cena to cover for the win. **1/4

VINCE THEN KICKS THE CRUTCH AND TAKES SWINGINGS AT KURT WHO DUCKS AND ROLLS OUT OF THE WAY! Vince says Kurt is fired as GM but is now on the active roster as a wrestler. He books Kurt Angle vs. Eddie Guererro @ SummerSlam. Eddie comes out, and VINCE DOES THE VIVA LA RAZA DANCE

Chuck, Val, Tajiri, Rosey, Regal, Rhyno, Maven, Hurricane, Steven Richards, La Resistance, Tomko, Rodney Mack are in the ring as Edge, Matt Hardy, Jericho, Kane and Evolution of Orton, Batista and Flair all come down to the ring. Eric Bischoff then comes out, he says the winner of the 60 minute iron man match will face the winner of this 20 man battle royal.

I should point out that's pretty lazy booking, this is the 2nd battle royal in the past 2 months to determine the #1 Contender.

#1 Contenders' Battle Royal Winner goes on to face the World Champion at SummerSlam
Evolution go right after Regal, and triple team him before throwing him out first. I like that Matt and Kane pair off in the corner too, as everyone else just does stuff. Jericho and Edge team up to toss Tomko and Chuck out. Flair hits two low blows on Edge as we go to a commercial, when we return. Val and Matt are gone via KANE. Hurricane gets thrown out as Rosey clotheslines Rodney Mack and Steven, but gets dropkicked out by Jericho. Tajiri kicks both La Resistance guys out, he then tries the Tarantula on Kane, but he tosses Tajiri over and to the floor. Jericho and Edge team up again in attempts to throw Orton out, but get saved by Flair. They tease Kane throwing out Edge as we go to another commercial, when we return everyone is still in the ring, down to 8. Kane cleans house and we get the Flair comedy spot as he tries to beat up Kane but he eats all the shots and Chokeslams him, Batista gets the better of KANE BUT TURNS INTO A GORE! Flair botches his corner spot, and when he gets to his feet Maven clotheslines him to the floor. WAT?!?!?! Batista then throws Rhyno out. Batista, Orton, Edge and Jericho then team up to throw Kane out. BRAH! Awesome tease sequence with Maven almost eliminating Orton but Orton drops him onto the top rope and throws him out. Edge and Jericho continue their friendship to throw Batista out, but JERICHO TURNS ON EDGE AND PUNCHES HIM OUT! We're down to Orton vs. Jericho. They have this awesome 3 minute stretch of teasing both men almost going out, like it's really good. To the point where if you're watching it for the first time you have no idea who was winning. They end up fighting on the apron, Jericho then makes the mistake of kicking Orton back into the ring, but Orton hits the RKO through the middle rope and kicks Jericho to the floor. ORTON WINS!

Backstage: The former WWE superstar the Diva hopeful have to seduce is...........KAMALA! Okay, then.

He tells Hunter good luck, Hunter stares him down before shaking his hand. He then smiles and says that's the thing about The Game is, he doesn't need luck. He shakes it, and walks off, not looking entirely pleased.

60 Minute Iron Man Match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship: Triple H vs. Chris Benoit
I love the stare down as the ref lays down the rules, the intensity is great. They don't look at the ref or the crowd once, they're locked in on the other. Real AWESOME feeling out process to start, Benoit wants to wrestle but Hunter counter with clubbing blows to force Benoit to back up and try again. They have another real good mat work sequence with counters and reversals. Benoit tries to utilize the side-headlock and does for brief moments but Hunter is so much bigger and manages to get out, they do that like 3 more times until Benoit tries the crossface but Hunter rolls to the floor. Benoit decides to switch up his game and target Hunter's leg, the quad injury leg Hunter sells it greatly during the work, and even a couple of moments after before he hits a desperation DDT and targets Benoit's neck now. Which is great revenge as Benoit had a broken neck, and it plays off the Batista match from last week. It doesn't last long as Benoit locks in the crossface, but Hunter tries to roll out but Benoit counters into a FUCKIN' Crucifix Pin and gets the first pin. 1-0, Benoit.

We return from a commercial with Benoit in control, he's now targeting Hunter's back with clubbing blows and different suplexes. He locks in an abdominal stretch for a few moments, but Hunter counters by hip tossing Benoit over the top and to the floor causing Benoit's lower back to crash onto the apron. It's doesn't look or sound sick, but it's looks like an aw shit that hurt if that makes sense. Hunter now targets it, he rams his back into the apron again before hitting a sick Irish whip into the turnbuckles. Benoit's turnbuckle bumps are the greatest. Hunter does that spot his loves, it's his poor attempt of the Flair corner bump to the floor. BUT FUCK THAT! BENOIT HITS A FUCKING SICK TOPE SUICIDA TO THE FLOOR WHIPPING OUT TRIPLE H AS WE GO TO BREAK. When we return Benoit goes back to working the knee, he hits a number of brutal headbutts in an Indian Deathlock position for two counts. He locks in the figure four but doesn't have it all the way applied, so Hunter manages to turn it over and it's Benoit who gets to the ropes to break it up. Benoit counters a vertical suplex into the triple rollin German's, but Hunter rolls out of the way of the Diving Headbutt and Benoit re-injures his chest again. Hunter connects with another sick Irish whip this time sending him sternum first into the turnbuckle and hits the pedigree to even it up. 1-1, 31 MINUTES TO GO!

Benoit rolls to the floor trying to regroup, but Hunter meets him on the floor. HE HITS A FUCKING FRONT SUPLEX ONTO THE STEPS AND ROLLS IN AS BENOIT IS COUNTED OUT! 2-1, Triple H.

We return from break, with 25:18 left and Benoit in the middle of his comeback (DAMN I really need WWE to drop that full 60 minute, i wanna know what happen between Benoit getting counted out to him making this comeback, that's like a 3 minute segment) But Hunter again hits another Irish Whip chest first Benoit bump. Hunter keeps working it, very similar offense as the Vengeance match. Including some awesome straight punches to the sternum. He then mixes it up, with punches to the kidneys and lower back. He then hits the Double A Spinebuster and covers for the pin. WOW! Triple H is up 3-1.

Back from break with Benoit making another comeback, 18:04 left, Benoit fights off a pedigree and locks in the Sharpshooter and after some fight Hunter taps. 3-2, Triple H. At least he sold the sharpshooter tonight.

15:15 remaining, Hunter now begins trying to run out the clock, it's not as amazing as Brock's last year but still good. And Benoit is far better at being the aggressive desperation face than Kurt. He locks in the Crippler Crossface but Hunter gets to the ropes the first time, he applies it again but this time has it in the middle of the ring and Hunter taps. ALL TIES UP! 3-3

11:48, remaining as Flair and Batista come out to ringside as we take another break, when we return it's 8:31. Hunter throws Benoit to the floor. Hunter then distracts the ref, allowing Batista to throw Benoit into the ringpost busting him open. FUCK YEAH! Kinda weird that Hunter distracted the ref allowing Batista to roll Benoit back in, when he was on the verge of getting another countout win. Anyway, Hunter goes for the cover but Benoit kicks out. Hunter now begins working the cut with straight punches and Benoit does a fantastic job selling the exhaustion and now the blood loss. Benoit makes a comeback, but Hunter accidentally takes the ref out with a clothesline. Flair brings in a chair, but Benoit fights he and Batista off. UNTIL TRIPLE H FUCKIN DESTROYS HIM WITH A CHAIR SHOT TO THE BACK/NECK/BACK OF THE HEAD. FUCK NO LONGER HE......NEVERMIND! Uncle Eric brings down a 2nd ref, but Benoit kicks out, Hunter goes for two move overs and Benoit kicks out. We're down to 4 minutes. Triple H nails the 2nd ref and now Evolution minus Orton :hm: put the boots to Benoit. FUCK NOOOOOO! EUGENE COMES THROUGH THE CROWD! He beats up Evolution all on his own and hits Hunter with a chair. 2 minutes to go, Benoit begins to crawl his way over and places his arm onto of Triple H with Eugene throwing the original ref back in who counts the three, at 59:54. TIME EXPIRES! BENOIT WINS! ****1/4

So this is fucking great, i remember young 12 year old me thought this was the greatest thing ever, but as i got older i fell out of love with it, mainly due to the Eugene stuff. But now. I'M BACK TO LOVING IT! I don't even mind the Eugene stuff as it played into the story. Awesome stuff. I just really need to see the match in full. I don't even mind some of the no-selling aspect with the match going 60, i don't expect guys to sell like every body part. And they mostly Benoit made up for it with selling the fatigue at the end.

Booker says last week he was made a promise that he would be declared the US champion this week, by a man Kurt Angle who no longer is in charge. But expect whoever is in charge to name him the US champion right now. Kenzo Suzuki and Hiroko come out and Booker says he asked for the new GM not the GM of some late night sushi bar at the Tokyo Inn Hiroko claims Kenzo said he should be the champ, Booker tells him to leave and he says Booker's breath smells. RVD then comes out, followed by Luther, Rene Dupree, Charlie Haas and Billy Gunn. WHAT THE FUCK? Cena comes out, he's starting this new "WHOSE HOUSE" gimmick which is just as worse as his Deez Nuts line, which thankfully he's stopped doing. It turns into a huge brawl, but Vince comes out and puts a stop to it. He names the new GM...........................THEODORE LONG! Everyone looks confused or laughs, he says he sees 8 men acting like children and says their is only one man that should be US Champ and that is...........Booker cuts him off and thanks him, but Theodore says it's not him, he's been hating on SD since he's gotten here so tonight, it's gonna be an 8 man elimination match for the title. TONIGHT!

WWE Cruiserweight Championship: Rey Mysterio vs. Spike Dudley
Solid babyface vs. babyface match, they also do a good job at building up the animosity towards one another as the match goes on. Neither man can really maintain a control period time so it's lots of cool back and forth spots and counters, the match ends when Rey counters the double stomp by getting the feet up, spike bumps into the 619 position but D-Von runs out and distracts the ref as Rey trips Bubba up. Spike is unaware and hits the Dudley Dog and covers for the win. **3/4

After the match; Spike yells at them for getting involved.

Kurt was fired last week, Kurt congratulates him on being the first black GM, and Long asks if he's really black, mockingly. He says the "first black..." stuff went out in 1985, and he got the job because he was the best man for it. Teddy tries to put Kurt in a match, but he says he didn't bring his gear. So, he fines Kurt $1000 for not coming to work prepared, and says he'll be in a match next week.

WWE Tag Team Championships: Billy Kidman & Paul London vs. The Dudley Boyz
London is fun in this, but Kidman is back to being ass. The champs control the early going with fast offense and double teams, until Bubba yanks on Kidman's hair and D-Von throws London to the floor who takes a great bump. When we return from break, the Dudleyz iso Kidman, it's fine, Kidman doesn't sell or anything, he has these average comebacks which kills the match, this whole heat kills the match. London has a fun hot tag as the match breaks down. Bubba grabs a chair, but Rey comes down and dropkicks it back into his face. D-Von is distracted by this, and London gets an inside cradle to win. **1/4

Eddie Guerrero comes out in his low rider, he has something in the back but it's covered up with a black blanket. He says he knows Kurt must be embarrassed with the way he got fired last week, but that's nothing compared to when i whip your ass at SummerSlam. Eddie says why wait, and lets do it tonight. He challenges Kurt to come out, but gets nothing. He says he knew he wouldn't come out so he has a bit of an enticement for Kurt. He has stagehands unload stuff from his car, and it's Kurt's memorabilia from his office. Eddie confesses he STOLE IT! He says he's not a greedy man, and Kurt can have them all back if he comes out and claims them face to face. Kurt doesn't come out, so Eddie goes over all the items and will put them on auction on WWE.com. He says whoever wins the Wheelchair, he'll call his cousin chewier and put dome hydraulics on it for the mamacita . He then draws a mustache on one of the Kurt pictures. He pulls out the gold medals and says he should action those off right here tonight. Starting bid is 24 cents, gets to $1 and now Kurt comes out, and tells him to put down the medal, Eddie refuses so Kurt says he's gonna steal his car. Eddie says he has a strong anti-theft device, and Kurt doesn't believe him. He starts the car, and powder sprays in Kurt's eyes instead of the car starting. Kurt bails upset as Eddie puts on the medals and leads the crowd in chanting "YOU SUCK"

8 Man Elimination Match for the United States Championship: Rob Van Dam vs. John Cena vs. Rene Dupree vs. Charlie Haas vs. Billy Gunn vs. Luther Regins vs. Kenzo Suzuki and (w/Hiroko) vs. Booker T
Haas/RVD is meh, Haas/Rene is meh, Gunn blind tags in and hits the Fame-ASS-er to eliminate Haas. Rene/Gunn is like the blind leading the blind, terrible pairing. Luther then blind tags in and hits his shitty swinging neck breaker eliminating Rene. Luther and Cena continue their stuff from last week. I swear they did the exact same sequence until Kenzo blind tags in. He takes out both Luther and Kenzo on the floor before making out with Hiroko, WELL, KENZO IS PISSED AND HITS CENA WITH THE US BELT so he's DQ'ed. Back from break, Booker is attacking Cena on the floor and they do their usual stuff in the ring. God i'm really dreading what's to come. Gunn tags in and does the best thing he's done all year and hit a Fisherman suplex for two. He then locks in a sleeper but Cena fights out and connects with an FU eliminating him. Luther is back in, they do their stuff again and Cena hits him with an FU eliminating him. Down to Booker/Cena/RVD. Cena/RVD is fun for a bit, as Cena is bumping all over for RVD and RVD looks great, Cena kicks out of the split leg but RVD comes back with the straight trust kick. He knocks Booker off the apron, as the ref calls that a tag. So, RVD hits the 5 Star Frog Splash on Cena but Booker sneaks in and covers Cena for three. Then, as RVD is getting up Booker nails him Scissors Kick, and Booker wins the title. RVD/Cena/Booker > The rest of the match, it really saved it from being a total shitshow.

Also only 3 matches, I like it. Just a shame no Eddie or JBL match.

He asks what kind of man would let Eugene into the building man last week? what kind of a diabolical villain would tell him to cost Triple H the match? IT WAS ME SUNSHINE! He says they know each other very well, and says 11 years ago they were a tag team in WCW. And he was even Hunters mentor. HOLY SHIT! STORYTELLING AND BRINGING UP THE PAST OUTSIDE WWE. Regal says people like them are born naughty, and if Hunter would have abused anyone other than Eugene he would have approved. Backstage: Coachman is with the Diva Search woman, Camille is eliminated, Coach says their challenge for tonight will be to campaign for votes later.

Rhyno & Tajiri vs. La Resistance
The faces jump the champs on the floor, as the bell rings, they pretty much have like a tornado adjace match that lasts a minute until Rhyno hits the GORE for the win. Champs didn't even get one offensive move in the entire match.

Tonight: Triple H vs. William Regal

Backstage: Todd Grisham is with Randy Orton, Orton says he believes in DESTINY! and the only reason he lost the Intercontinental Championship is because he's destined to become the youngest World Heavyweight Champion in history. He says Brock Lesnar did it in 2002 at 25, but this year he'll do it at 24. He says he's accomplished more at 24 than most have their entire life. He says Benoit is the champion and the best RIGHT NOW! but as SummerSlam, Benoit will be like all the rest, KILLED OFF BY THE LEGEND KILLER!

The Highlight Reel is set up in the ring, Jericho says he guest requested to be here tonight and his tag partner tonight, the IC champion EDGE! Edge comes out and is reluctant to shake his hand, Jericho says he found out at SummerSlam it will be Edge vs. Batista vs. Chris Jericho for the IC title. Jericho says Edge looks like he doesn't want to be here and brings up the Battle Royal last week, and mentions that it was every man for himself, and Edge says it's true, but he was probably being naive since they kept saving each other and eliminated 5 guys. Edge talks about Jericho's big ego, and that's why it's Orton fighting for the World Title at SummerSlam. Jericho says it was a split second decision to save Edge or dump him out. Edge says because that, he watched Jericho get dumped out by Orton, and hasn't seen him get dumped that badly since Trish Stratus. Jericho says he sees where this is going and says Edge's is gonna be the assclown that loses his title to him. They go nose to nose, but Edge goes to leave but Jericho pulls him back and they brawl. Edge hits him with a spear and grabs a chair, but calms down and thinks better of it. He tries to help Jericho up, but Jericho is pissed and punches him down before leaving.

FUCK Yeah, Regal jumps Hunter on the ramp. They have this awesome brawl down the ramp and into the ring. They get into the ring and the bell rings, but as Regal tries to get Hunter up, Triple H puts brass knuckles on and KO's Regal for the DQ. Regal is out and now busted open. Hunter drops the knucks in the ring and grabs the sledgehammer. REGAL WHO IS JUST POURING BLOOD! Punches Hunter in the gut and crawls to the knucks, he puts it on but as he turns around and FIRES UP! Hunter nails him with the hammer in the head. Hunter then hits him in the back and begins punching away at the cut, refs try to break it up but Hunter just beats the shit out of Regal. He low blows him and picks up the hammer as everyone bails. FUCK YEAH! HE THEN DROPS THE HAMMER ON REGALS HEAD LIKE FIST DROP! Regal is loaded up on a stretcher as Triple H taunts the crowd and leaves. WAIT! NO, HE COMES BACK DOWN! He gets in Regal's face as he wakes up he tells Regal to tell Eugene "THEIR'S NOTHING HE CAN DO TO STOP HIM! AND THIS IS A MESSAGE TO HIM" Hunter then tips the stretcher over with Regal on it @Cwalker you're right the best beatdown just happen.

Backstage: Triple H is washing the blood off his hands when Uncle Eric comes in, he books Triple H vs. Eugene @ SummerSlam and hopes Triple H will be washing off blood at SummerSlam too.

Backstage: The Raw Diva hopefuls give a 30-second speech on why they should be stay and why you should vote for them.

Backstage: Kane grabs Lita and corners her, she threatens to scream and Kane dares her so when Matt comes in he can destroy him. He says Eric has made Kane vs. Matt at SummerSlam. She says Matt will beat him again. Kane asks if she's sure because she doesn't even know who the babies dad is. She says she knows Matt is twice the man Kane is. Kane challenges her to raise the stakes of the match and dares her to marry the winner. Kane says it's a pity she can't wear white for their wedding, and she is offended. She slaps him and walks off.

Evolution (Randy Orton, Batista & Ric Flair) vs. Team Canada (Chris Jericho, Edge & Chris Benoit)
Benoit debuts his 4REAL logo attire here, also this gets 21 minutes so yeah it fucking rules. I don't think these 6 have missed so far in these multi-man matches. But it's coming to an end Edge doesn't even wait for his partners he runs past them and attacks Orton in the ring to start the match. We get all the usual good pairings in short bursts, Edge/Oton, Jericho/Flair, Benoit murdering Flair's chest Batista/Benoit, BENOIT/ORTON TEASE! Evolution briefly iso Benoit, they semi-target Benoit's knee like they try to work it but it's Benoit so he's constantly fighting back not allowing them to string in more than two moves on him. Flair locks in the figure four, but Benoit turns it over, so Batista breaks it up. Batista tags in and now just ignore the legwork and tries works on the kidneys. He does some nice things but goes for one too many shouldblockes into the corner that he hits the ringpost. Jericho has a nice hot tag, he hits all his usual stuff including bulldog and Lionsault but Orton and Flair break it up and we the faces cleaning house as we go to a commercial.

When we return, Evolution are back in control working over Edge, BRAH! I really need to see these matches in full. They target Edge's head, it's cool. JERICHO having two hot tags in the same match is crazy, this time he has his hot tag on Orton instead of Batista. He and Orton do some stuff, I don't like that Jericho basically no sold the Orton backbreaker as Benoit tags in, he and Flair have this awkward by amazing exchange where Benoit is clearly caught waiting for Flair to throw a strike but when he doesn't Benoit just ends up destroying him until Flair would pope him in the eye. The match turns into this weird style with all the faces having these brief bursts of energy hot tags, it's so different to what I've been seeing all year from these 6. The match breaks down with everyone getting taken out after a big strike or move. Evolution briefly puts an end to the cool face stuff with Orton turning up his aggression with his control, he's really making the headlock look deadly with facial expression, body movement and just grunting. Jericho does a phenomenal job showing heart and fighting back, Batista tags him and he has his own fun segment working over Jericho's back. Benoit's final hot tag is dope, he cleans house taking out Evolution. The match ends with Benoit hitting the triple German's and Diving Headbutt on Orton, but doesn't go for the pin as he still thinks Flair is the legal man. So Edge and Jericho get back in, Jericho accidentally hits Edge with a Flying Forearm, and Batista hits Jericho with a KO LARIAT! Benoit doesn't see Orton blind tag in so as he's killing Flair, and proceeds to lock him in the Sharpshooter Orton sneaks in the RKO and pins Benoit! DESTINY! ****
