I have a question. Am I the only one who hasn't noticed anything but improvement from the WWE in the past year?

Nope, I've noticed it. Whether it's because of Jericho's incredible run, HHH finally giving Jeff a chance, Miz and Morrison dominating the tag team ranks or Cena being out of the title picture for the better half of the year, it was a great year. But I'm not sure if we'll see any real big changes for a while

I haven't seen any big changes at all. All this 'ZOMG WWE LUVS KIDZ NAOW~!' was spewed from the internet and watching WWE programming is a lot better than it was in say 2006-07.

-Why would they market towards adults and teens? Eventually, we'll stop watching, and then they'd have a very small fanbase, because they never marketed to a new group of young kids coming cup
I think you missed it here. Instead of marketing towards a new generation, WWE is marketing towards everybody. They keep it mature enough for the adults to be entertained and keep it clean enough for the kids to be able to watch.

I too have WWE t-shirts. I have CM Punk "ribs", CM Punk "hardcore-Straightedge", and Edge's Sex & Violence shirt. And my brother (19) has a few randy Orton shirts.

I didn't read this entire thread, on the basis of it's probably full of bullshit except from people like CMStar and Airflixx.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. We watch half-naked men roll around in a ring in a pre-determined fight. That's a trait of a 7-year-old. Embrace the 7-year old within you and mark out when a midget jumps off a turnbuckle on to a big black guy.

If anything, we should be happy. We're getting legitimate storylines (Rey/Knox, HBK/JBL, Jericho/Michaels) and not just OMG LOOK ITS ACTION~! TV. Unless of course, what you're looking for is blood, sex, and swearing. In which case, I advise that you download horror films, porn, or old George Carlin shows.

All i wanted in my opinion when i started this thread was i wanted more of it now. Yes bloody sex and weapons have been toned down i also meant i wanted to see more risky stuff from wwe that's all. This kids stuff all of a sudden is silly. Why now are they doing it to get kids? Kids have been watching it for years, and they didn't turn their heads then? All im saying is yes we have'nt noticed much in the wrestling but i just miss bits of wwe that's all.

I could of sworn there were more people on this site opposed to WWE's kid friendly marketing. Its way too creepy seeing everyone posting the exact same thing and agreeing with each other. Do we really have nobody who wants to play devils advocate? lol

Exactly what i thought but hey we cant have it all can we. What i have noticed is if a mod says something you can bet your ass someone under his post will agree with him. That is something i have noticed. Each to their own opinion i know. I thought there were a few people who was going to agree with me but hey, you cant win them all can you? People probably don't agree with me cause they thinks its the cool thing to do lol.
I accept that they all maybe telling the truth and disagree with me but i just don't buy it that's all. Not that i care if people disagree with me or not. It is just something that i have noticed.

Which kids stuff? I'm sorry, but I haven't seen anything truly directed toward kids in WWE, and if you say "changing the FU to The Throwback", then you are merely especulating as we dont know if that is the reason why.

Why now are they doing it to get kids? Kids have been watching it for years, and they didn't turn their heads then?

Two words: Chris Benoit

Kids see wrestling because their parents let them. And sure, they let their kids watch blood, sex implications because well, it was wrestling, it was fake and nobody really cared. But then, the Chris Benoit incident came. It was picked up by CNN and other big outlets, and in every big outlet they said that the big bumps Benoit took affected his brain.

There, the parents got sketchy.

So basically, WWE has to tone down so that the parents see wrestling as nothing to out of line, and let their kids to keep watching

When they are going to have blood or a bit of violence not aimed for kids then have Lillian or Justin roberts to announce before the match that it might get bloody or hasty.

I'd stop trying to watch wrestling the day they do that.

I don't still think you get it. Im tired of this argument now. All im saying and this is my last post on this thread cause its doing my head in. All im saying is that i want a little bit of more risk taken by some stars so to speak. This kids thing has been blown out of proportion a bit me thinks. I just want wwe to be a bit more edgey. Maybe ortons punt on vince was hopefully the start of my point. Now do you get my point?

BRING BACK THE HARDCORE CHAMPIONSHIP! Just because Crash died, the Hardcore belt died? You can replace Crash... just give the shit to Hornswoggle. The chases, the 24/7 rule, the attacks, the random pins during a pre-match nap, women taking the hardcore belt... that shit was funny, interesting, and entertaining beyond comedy.

I know they want to stop using weapons as much because of injury, and it gives off the wrong message... but they can just do the same old disclaimers for Hardcore matches as they do for regular wrestling.

Besides... it would give randoms a shot to prove themselves to have a bit of character, and to be in a "storyline" for a while.

This thread wasn't about you wanting the WWE to be edgier. Everything in it, starting by the thread's title, is you being mad at WWE targetting kids, and listing the lack of edge (you started by saying lack of blood and gimmick matches) as a side effect of it, but not as your main concern.

But it was already said. 2008 was better than previous years in which supposedly the WWE was edgier

We have understood your point since the beginning. It is a stupid point.
