Vince knows how to make money and going for a younger audience sells more merchandise and money is what it is about. You create "characters" comic book
like heroes and villains. And the kids will want the toy figures, the masks, the magazines and the tshirts. When was the last time an adult bought a WWE magazine?

But I doubt that kids are a reliable source of income, I mean when the next big hit ,like lets say pokemon cards were, will appear they will sure as hell stop spending money on the WWE. Remember a kids loyalty equals materialism.

I've changed my stance a bit.
I used to get really fed up with watching the family friendly stuff.
But then I started thinking (and some of these points have already eben brought up)
-Why would they market towards adults and teens? Eventually, we'll stop watching, and then they'd have a very small fanbase, because they never marketed to a new group of young kids coming cup
-It's not as bad as it seems. It's not like you see a guy in a purple suit or Vince McMahon leading sing-a-longs. It's not like they're ADDING kid stuff to the equation, instead, they're just subtracting "mature" stuff from the equation. It all balances out
-Thirdly, I'm fine with that. We still can see the boss get kicked in the head. We can still see a bikini contest here and there. We can still see a fucking psycho like Kane try to get a girlfriend. We can still see some good storylines (JBL vs HBK, HBK vs Jericho, Edge vs Taker, Edge/Vickie, Orton vs McMahon, etc), so the only thing missing is borderline porn and some redneck swearing (I love stone cold BTW). But really, if I can't enjoy the product without some sluts and swearing, I have something wrong.

So just leave it man. It's not as bad as you say. They aren't going out of their way to make it aimed for kids, they're just making it suitable. If you need to have sluts dancing around almost naked, and have some guys swearing and all that, just go swear, or watch porn.
I'm fine with WWE as of now actually.

Edit: To efftheif. You doubt kids are a source of income? Bullshit. Who do you think buys the plastic belts, the action figures, the wwe shirts, etc? Not too many adults. Mostly little 7 year olds. They get the money from their parents. kids generate more income than adults and teens, because most parents will buy things for their kids, whereas teens and adults have to buy for themselves, and most times, won't.

I think that I am gonna throw my 2-cents in just because I can.

Honestly, I havent noticed a huge difference in the quality of the WWE. Storylines haven't strayed to much from the norm. The wrestling is about the same. But then again I was never to huge of a fan of the "blood and guts" approach to wrestling. Attempting to get a more diverse audience is a good thing. Without the kid-friendly WWF of the 90's would about 70% of the members of the IWC even exist? I mean as wrestling fans.

Regardless I think that this is a good idea for McMahon. Before I didn't mind watching wrestling with my 10 year old brother (who by the way Hates John Cena... i'm so proud...they learn so young! lol) but now that it isn't as "PG-13" as you put it I dont need to attempt to censor him from stuff and feel the need to try to explain the sexual inuendo's and stuff in a "kid-friendly" way. All in all it's the best move for them, creating a new fabase so they are secure for 10-15 years. Considering the economy it's the best move.

Please don't drink before you talk, I said that they are a good income on the short term, but they arent that loyal as they easily switch one obesession with the other.

^Again, not true. Maybe a single fan is not reliable, but over the long term, there is an endless amount of kids.
It's an endless cycle when you market to kids. A kid will either
1-Love the product, and become a lifelong fan
2-Love the product for a few years, than swtich, but many other kids will take his place for the nexr number of years.

Explain to me how marketing towards adults is more beneificial, when all the products are for the most part being bought by parents for their kids.

Now don't take me wrong, but I think that only time could tell whether you are or I am right. Like I said a new hit could take away most of those kids in an instant, we can't know how a kid exactly thinks, hell they don't even understand themselves.

^Time has told though. Look at the attitutude era. Sales were great there, yes, but it's been over for like 8 years now, and wwe has been less-attitudeish for at least 3 years now, and sales have done just as well, in fact, even better in merchandise sales. Any time I see a kid in a wwe arena, I see them in Jeff Hardy armbands, or a cena hat, or a Mysterio mask, or a M Punk shirt, etc.
Now, when you see adults, what are they wearing? Usually a coat, or a t shirt. That's usually their own clothes, therefore, not bringing in business.

Oh, and LegendkillerPunk, don't delete the thread or anything man. It brought up some good conversation, and everyone has an opinion, so it's cool.

I would just want to say:

Blood won't make a match better, in fact, most of the times, the blading is unrealistic and does nothing for the match

I have a question. Am I the only one who hasn't noticed anything but improvement from the WWE in the past year?
