*TRAP OR TREAT*

The opening video for Monday Night Raw comes to an end and we cut right to the ring as JINNY is making her way out ahead of the number one contender’s 4-way elimination match at the start of the show. She gets boos from the crowd as Michael Cole and Elias welcome us to the broadcast. They confirm that the winner of the match tonight will fight Charlotte Flair for the Women’s Universal title in two weeks on Raw.

*CALLING YOU OUT*

DANI LUNA walks out next getting a decent pop from the live crowd. She slaps hands with a few kids in the front row and looks fired up as she heads to the ring. Michael Cole calls this the biggest match of hers and Jimmy’s career tonight, both a win away from a Women’s Universal title shot. Elias says he knows the rest of SubCulture will root for her from the backstage area.

*PAPARAZZI*

MELINA gets the red carpet rolled out for her and makes her way out as the paparazzi take pictures of her. She soaks in the cheers from the crowd as Michael Cole brings up the 5 women’s titles she already has and she is looking to become a 6-time champion. Elias says her veteran experience might pay dividends tonight.

*LOYALTY IS EVERYTHING*

SHAYNA BASZLER marches out onto the entrance with one of the WWE Women’s tag team titles around her waist. She has a towel over her neck and is getting loud boos from the crowd. Michael Cole reminds us that she is coming off a loss to Sasha Banks in a Miracle on 34th Street Fight on Smackdown 3 nights ago. Elias says that anger will fuel her as she looks to get her Women’s Universal title back. Shayna hops over the ropes and stands in front of the other 3 women as the referee calls for the bell to get this match underway!

Match 1: Number one contender’s 4-way elimination match: Shayna Baszler vs Dani Luna vs Jinny vs Melina

Match summary: Shayna in the opening stages of the match is limping and struggling on her right leg after the damage done by Charlotte Flair at Starrcade. Jinny takes her little potshots and stays hidden where she can, leaving most of the ring action to the other 3 women. Dani Luna gets to show off her power and tosses around Shayna Baszler keeping her out of the ring. Melina tries to get the match going in her favor but out of nowhere, Jinny pounces hitting the FASHION LINE (Rainmaker)! Jinny hooks the leg and eliminates Melina!

Eliminated via pinfall by Jinny: Melina (6:37)

Jinny tries to be sneaky and slide out of the ring but neither Shayna nor Dani let her escape forcing her back into the ring. Jinny gets a bit of a beating before sliding out of the ring to leave Dani and Shayna alone in the ring. Shayna tries to wear down Dani with a series of submissions. Still, Dani overpowers Shayna, sending her out of the ring! Jinny sneaks into the ring looking to roll up Dani but she kicks out at two! Jinny tries to get away from Dani but she slams her down before LOCKING HER IN THE CATTLE MUTILATION SUBMISSION! Jinny tries to fight out but she is trapped and taps out!

Eliminated via submission by Dani Luna: Jinny (9:54)

Dani drops Jinny to the mat and gets to her feet face-to-face with Shayna Baszler. The commentary team then tells us the match will continue after the commercial break!

When we return from the commercial break, Shayna has taken control of the match by working over the arms of Dani Luna trying to take away her power game. Dani shows her own experience with submissions by countering Shayna and locking in a bunch of submissions of her own! The two women are evenly matched as Dani Luna is getting more and more of the crowd into her as she pushes Shayna Baszler to the limit even getting CATTLE MUTILATION LOCKED IN!

Shayna is trapped in the lethal submission hold, Dani wrenches back with everything she has and Shayna is in a huge amount of trouble… SHAYNA GETS HER FOOT ON THE BOTTOM ROPE! Dani breaks the submission and sighs wondering what she will need to do to secure the win. She goes back on the attack but Shayna pounces on a slight wince… LOCKS IN THE KIRIFUDA CLUTCH! Shayna locks it in tight in the middle of the ring and traps Dani in the middle of the ring… AND SHE HAS NO CHOICE BUT TO TAP OUT!

Shayna holds on for a few seconds before tossing Dani Luna to the mat and gets to her feet, standing tall over Dani Luna as she gloats to the crowd having picked up a big win. Michael Cole gives all the credit in the world to Dani Luna for her performance tonight but in the end, the submissions of Shayna were too much. Elias says Shayna Baszler now has what she wanted and in two weeks, she will have the chance to win back her Women’s Universal title!

We cut to the backstage area to see Women’s Universal champion CHARLOTTE FLAIR watching on the monitor what just happened. CATHY KELLEY walks up to Charlotte looking for an interview with the Queen. Cathy asks how she feels about fighting Shayna Baszler one more time in two weeks. Charlotte says she has already beaten Shayna Baszler once before and will be happy to put her in her place again. She goes to walk off but stops smirking, telling Cathy that she will if Banks and Bayley don’t beat her to it!

We cut elsewhere backstage, to see HEATH SLATER and RICK BOOGZ, as Heath is shown reading a letter. Rick is busy working out before looking over Heath's shoulder and asking him about the letter. Heath explains that someone has been sending letters saying they think he is the future of Monday Night Raw. Rick says someone sees what he sees slapping the back of Heath prompting a chuckle from the One Man Band but off-camera we hear loud laughter…

BARON CORBIN walks into the shot with a wicked grin on his face and mocks the pair of them, saying whoever is writing these letters must be delusional. Corbin carries on laughing until Rick gets up and confronts him, saying he may not have been around this past month but he has been watching Raw from home and saw how Corbin has treated his friend. Corbin refuses to back down leading to Boogz challenging him to a match on next week’s Raw which Corbin accepts.

When we return from the commercial break, THE ONE TWOS are standing backstage with slight smiles. ONEY LORCAN starts by telling the fans they might not seem like it but they do have some respect for their fellow tag team combatants The Street Profits. DANNY BURCH says they were going to issue a challenge for a fight to the pair of them but they heard about Montez’s broken arm.

They take a moment to send their sympathies to the Street Profits but it is one hell of a way to avoid a match with them, getting loud boos from the live crowd. Both chuckle before saying that tonight they will be focused on singles success and making sure one of them wins tonight's battle royale, planning to be the ones to take the WWE title from the Hurt Business, promising to Angelo there too.

FANDANGO makes his way out getting a decent pop from the live crowd and plays to the fans with his moves as TYLER BREEZE walks with him holding their signature selfie stick. Michael Cole says the dancer asked for this match to get revenge on The Hurt Business after Breeze lost to Lio Rush on the Starrcade pre-show. Elias says Fandango has proven himself to also be a dangerous singles competitor in the past and could be a tough challenge for…

*SET IT OFF*

SHELTON BENJAMIN! The veteran walks to the ring with the World tag team title around his waist, being joined by his tag team partner CEDRIC ALEXANDER! Both men get boos from the crowd as they taunt the fans on the way to the ring. Michael Cole says Shelton Benjamin is a multiple-time Intercontinental Champion as well as a former United States Champion. Elias says that’s why a win for Fandango could be so huge tonight. Shelton is now in the ring as the referee calls for the bell to get this match underway!

Match 2: Fandango w/Tyler Breeze vs Shelton Benjamin w/Cedric Alexander

Match summary: Fandango struggles in the early stages with the veteran Shelton Benjamin taking control of the match. Cedric talks a bunch of trash outside the ring during the match but Breeze ignores him. As we enter the closing stages Shelton is still in control but Fandango takes him by surprise hitting Shelton Benjamin with a FALCON ARROW for the shock win!

Fandango gets to his feet and celebrates a big upset win to cheers from the live crowd… CEDRIC ALEXANDER ATTACKS HIM FROM HIM BEHIND! Boos from the live crowd as Tyler Breeze tries to stop the attack… SHELTON LOW BLOWS HIM! The tag team champions beat them down, laying in stiff boots and strikes before planting both men on the mat! The tag team champions lift their tag team titles into the air to boos from the crowd as Raw goes to a commercial break.

When we return from the commercial break, JAMES STORM is sitting in a bar drinking beer by himself. He says losing your drinking buddy, he wouldn’t wish it on his worst enemy. He wishes his close friend Bobby the best and promises when they return, they will bring tag team gold to their collection. James says right now he needs to focus on his own goals and his motives. He says tonight he is focusing on earning a shot at the WWE title.

He says 29 men are standing between him and an old friend from his days fighting all over America. He says Samoa Joe is not the only champion he wants to take gold from, next week he gets to show Keith Lee he is already making rookie mistakes. James says he was watching Takeover: Boxing Day and he saw how good Keith was but he ain’t on his level. He challenges Keith to be a man and put the NXT title on the line next week, in honor of his close friend, the greatest NXT Champion ever!

*BROKEN DREAMS*

DREW MCINTYRE marches out onto the entrance ramp getting loud cheers from the live crowd. He winces slightly but has a smile on his face as he heads towards the ring. Michael Cole says Drew McIntyre is coming off a rough loss at Starrcade, losing to Samoa Joe in a Last Man Standing match for the WWE title. Elias says Drew will be looking to get back on track and wonders what the Sinister Scotsman's plan going forward will be. Drew grabs a microphone from someone and rolls into the ring before standing in the middle of the ring.

Drew takes a moment before telling the fans that he makes no excuses for what happened at Starrcade. He gave Samoa Joe everything he had that night but Joe was the last man standing. The crowd cheers for the good sportsmanship from Drew. He says he may have issues with how Samoa Joe won it but he beat him fair and square at Starrcade so he is not going to come out here asking or demanding a rematch. Drew shakes his head before telling the crowd that doesn’t mean he is done chasing the WWE title!

The crowd cheers Drew for this line as he tells the fans he needs to earn another match with Samoa Joe another way and that’s why he is entering the Royal Rumble! The crowd loudly cheers as Drew reminds the crowd that he won the match last year, going to WrestleMania 36 and taking the WWE title from Roman Reigns. He plans on going back-to-back and tells Joe to watch his back. Drew drops the microphone posing for the live crowd as Raw goes to a commercial break.

*SOVIET MARCH*

ILJA DRAGUNOV marches out getting loud cheers from the crowd after his recent turn to the good side after leaving The Ungovernables. He sprints to the ring full of energy as he paces around waiting for Andrade. Michael Cole says Ilja believes in fighting with honor, something his opponent lacks. Elias says this will be a chance for Ilja to try to avenge his friend Cesaro after he was taken out by Andrade a few weeks ago.

*GANGSTER’S PARADISE*

ANDRADE CIEN ALMAS makes his way onto the stage and is joined by ZELINA VEGA as he gets loud boos from the live crowd. Michael Cole says Andrade is a former Universal Champion and is trying to get back on track since losing his title. Elias says he might be having a rougher time since losing his title at WrestleMania 36 but he is still one of the most dangerous competitors on Raw. Both men are inside the ring across from each other as the referee calls for the bell.

Match 3: Andrade Cien Almas w/Zelina Vega vs Ilja Dragunov

Match summary: Andrade is cocky once the bell rings and mocks the Mad Russian. Big mistake from the Universal Champion as ILJA LAYS IN A SERIES OF HARD CHOPS! He peppers Andrade until his chest turns red and Andrade realizes he is in for a hard fight! Andrade starts to fight back with his own series of hard strikes but Ilja shows his tenacity as he wins the striking exchange. Zelina on the outside shakes her head but shouts something in Spanish which prompts a nod from Andrade.

Andrade looks for a change of tactic going for his lucha skills instead looking to use his speed to take control of the match. The crowd even pops for Andrade’s unique offense as he gets Ilja down to the mat and even does the TRANQUILO POSE IN THE ROPES MOCKING ILJA AGAIN! Ilja keeps his cool but he shakes his head looking to go for a DROPKICK… BUT ANDRADE AVOIDS IT! Ilja lands outside the ring… AS ANDRADE SPRINGBOARDS OFF THE ROPES HITTING A TORNADO DDT TO THE RING FLOOR AS RAW GOES TO A COMMERCIAL BREAK!

When we return from the commercial break, Andrade is in control of the match working over the Mad Russian with a series of submissions and overpowers the Cruiserweight. Ilja though fights through the pain before firing off his insane chops. The crowd is super into the match, with a few “This is awesome” chants as Ilja keeps alive as we approach the closing stages of the match. He lines up Andrade ready to go for TORPEDO MOSCOW… ANDRADE COUNTERS WITH THE SPINNING BACK ELBOW!

Andrade makes the cover but only gets a close 2 count! Andrade is now in control as he looks to get him up for the HAMMERLOCK DDT… ILJA DROPS HIM WITH THE RUSSIAN BOTTOM! Ilja also gets a close two count before running the ropes and HITS THE H-BOMB (Jumping forearm smash to a grounded opponent)! Ilja makes the cover once again 1 2 Andrade kicks out! Ilja shakes his head before pointing to the top rope and climbing to the top rope ready to go for the SUPER H-BOMB…

ZELINA VEGA GRABS HIS FOOT! Ilja turns around and kicks away Zelina Vega… BUT IT ALLOWS ANDRADE TO HIT A ROPE-JUMP ENZUIGIRI! Ilja is stunned and Andrade hits a HAMMERLOCK DDT FROM THE TOP ROPE SPIKING ILJA ON HIS HEAD! Andrade smirks before making the cover 1 2 3 Andrade Cien Almas picks up the win!

Loud boos from the live crowd for the way he had won but Andrade doesn’t care having a smug look on his face as he taunts the live crowd. He looks at Ilja on the mat struggling before signaling to the back… ANGEL GARZA and HUMBERTO CARRILLO start to sprint down the entrance ramp joining Andrade in the ring, beating down on Ilja 3 on 2 in the middle of the ring. Michael Cole and Elias criticize these actions wondering if there is anyone to help Ilja…

*UPPERCUT OVERTURE (1812)*

CESARO sprints out from the back in a James Bond-style suit and heads straight for the ring! The commentary team brings up that we have not seen Cesaro for nearly 2 months after the attack by the Ungovernables but he is back on Raw for revenge. He gets into the ring and immediately EUROPEAN UPPERCUTS ANGEL GARZA SENDING HIM FROM THE RING! He turns around as Humberto Carrillo tries to charge at him… SWISS DEATH DROPPING THE CRUISERWEIGHT!

Cesaro turns around and comes face to face with ANDRADE… WHO ROLLS OUT OF THE RING TO LOUD BOOS FROM THE CROWD! He heads up the back with Zelina Vega and Angel Garza leaving Humberto Carrillo in the ring. Cesaro grabs Humberto by the legs and points directly at the retreating Andrade outside the ring… CESARO SWING TO HUMBERTO CARRILLO! He spins the Cruiserweight around as Andrade looks on and we cut elsewhere backstage!

We cut to see an angry ALEXA BLISS standing next to her tag team partner MICKIE JAMES! Alexa says all night she has had to see people hyping up Dani Luna after her fluke win last week. She says people have forgotten she is a 5-time Women’s Champion and need to show them the respect they deserve. Mickie chimes in pointing out she is a 6-time Women’s Champion and maybe she needs to put Dani Luna in her place, challenging the young Brit to a singles match next week on Raw!

When we return from the commercial break, we see RHEA RIPLEY walking through the back with a cocky smile as TOM PHILLIPS stops her for an interview. She asks Rhea how she is finding her time on Raw since coming over from NXT. She says it has been a blast making Raw her new home and promises to keep on knocking down everyone in her way to that Women’s Universal title. Tom brings up the current champion Charlotte Flair and asks about the tension between them in the last month or so.

Rhea says it is just business as both women want to be the best in this industry and there can only be one Women’s Universal Champion on Raw. She says she wants to beat Charlotte in the middle of the ring whilst others on Raw she is happy to crush into the ground due to their antics and actions. Rhea says she wants to beat Charlotte to avenge her loss to her at Queen of the Ring and now Charlotte is champion, it aligns perfectly with her plan to win the Royal Rumble!

Tom looks to wrap up the interview but they are soon interrupted by NATALYA and JESSAMYN DUKE! Natalya calls her win at Starrcade a fluke and tells Rhea that the Queen of Harts will be winning the rumble, confirming her entry into the match. Rhea scoffs at the suggestion of her win being a fluke and says since Nattie is in her gear why don’t she fight her tonight? Natalya is a bit nervous but tells Rhea she has a match right now… before pointing at Duke and saying she is free tonight. Duke fakes not being scared before the MMA Horsewomen duo walk off as we cut back to the ring.

DAKOTA KAI makes her way out getting cheers from the crowd. She slaps hands with a few of the fans in the crowd before heading into the ring, joined by her tag team partner TEGAN NOX! Michael Cole says Team Kick came close to becoming WWE Women’s tag team champions at Starrcade but just missed out. Elias says Dakota has proven herself as a singles wrestler being a former NXT Women’s Champion but she is stepping into the ring with…

*NEW FOUNDATION*

NATALYA! She makes her way out onto the entrance ramp, joined by JESSAMYN DUKE as the MMA Horsewomen members walk to the ring with a purpose. Michael Cole says Natalya confirmed just now she is entering the Royal Rumble and she might be a dark horse to win the match due to her experience. Elias says the MMA Horsewomen are looking to get the gold they lost as a group back and it could mean trouble for the rest of the Women’s division. Dakota stands in the ring across from Natalya as the referee calls for the bell to get the match underway!

Match 4: Dakota Kai w/Tegan Nox vs Natalya w/Jessamyn Duke

Match summary: Natalya comes into the match with a gameplan of targeting the legs of Dakota Kai to try to take her kicks away but Kai had it scouted from before the bell. Kai controls the match to the surprise of Natalya who was expecting to be the dominant force in this match. Duke tries to make her presence felt at ringside but Tegan Nox takes care of her allowing Dakota to hit Natalya with the KAI-ROPRACTOR! Kai makes the cover and picks up a big win on Raw!

Winner via pinfall: Dakota Kai (6:30)

Dakota Kai gets to her feet and is joined in her celebrations by Tegan Nox whilst Duke pulls Natalya from the ring and the pair sulk to the back. Michael Cole says Dakota Kai’s performance tonight reminded everyone why she is a former NXT Women’s Champion and a threat in the singles division as well as the tag team division. Elias says we still don’t know who will be Women’s Universal Champion at Royal Rumble but Kai might be putting herself in line for a shot with a few more wins like that.

When we return from the commercial break, we see THE STREET PROFITS standing next to each other. MONTEZ FORD has his arm in a sling whilst ANGELO DAWKINS has a red cup in one hand as he looks at his partner. Dawkins asks his friend how the arm is holding up and Ford says it ain’t great at the moment but it will heal. Dawkins hugs his friend and they promise the camera when Montez is back, they will become tag team champions and finally hold gold.

Dawkins nods before saying that’s the future, he wants to talk about the present. He says later on tonight, he has the chance to earn a WWE title shot at the Royal Rumble and fight Samoa Joe. He calls it the perfect way to get payback on the Hurt Business after the cheap tricks they pulled to keep the titles around their waist. Dawkins finishes by also bringing up the One Twos running their mouths and says if they want the smoke, he’ll gladly fight Oney Lorcan next week on Raw!

We then cut to another bar backstage as SHEAMUS is having a pint. He has a slight scowl on his face as he brings up his loss to Joe last week. He blames himself for taking his eyes off the ball but says Swerve reminded him of what he wants the most right now, that Intercontinental title. He says it is the only title he has yet to win in his years in WWE so he wants to end his career off by finally winning it. He tells Swerve he wants to speak to him face-to-face in the ring next week.

When we return from the commercial break, we can see The Miz TV set in the ring and THE MIZ sitting in the middle of the ring with a microphone in his hand as he looks to the live crowd who are cheering for the A-Lister. The Miz plays to the crowd getting cheap pops from the fans before telling them that right now he will be interviewing arguably the greatest trio in WWE history…

*NEW DAY, NEW WAY*

THE NEW DAY! The crowd loudly cheers for BIG E, XAVIER WOODS and KOFI KINGSTON walking onto the entrance ramp, with Big E proudly showing off his New-Day-themed Money in the Bank briefcase. Michael Cole says Big E and Woods are in tonight’s battle royal whilst Kofi has confirmed his entrance into the Royal Rumble. Elias says Big E has talked about cashing in at WrestleMania 37 but wonders what if he wins the WWE title at the Rumble and then fights for the Universal title over the two nights.

The New Day climbed into the ring with each man shaking hands with The Miz before taking a seat across the ring from the former WWE Champion. The Miz welcomes them to the ring before speaking to Big E first asking about his plans to cash in his briefcase at WrestleMania 37. He asks Big E if he has had any doubts over the past 8 months about whether he should cash it in when the champion is weakened as he himself has done. Big E shakes his head and tells Miz he knew when he won this, it was his ticket for a KofiMania moment.

Big E says he saw what his best friend was able to do in the main event of WrestleMania and he wanted to do that himself. He wants to prove he belongs as one of the top stars of Monday Night Raw. Miz counters that he feels Big E is, pointing out his two Intercontinental title reigns, his numerous tag team reigns and big wins over the likes of Andrade throughout the year. Big E smiles but tells Miz until he wins the WWE title at WrestleMania 37, he won’t feel like he has proven that after a series of near misses recently.

Miz wonders if Big E is suffering similar confidence issues to Xavier prompting Woods to chime in. He says Big E doesn’t lack confidence and if anything, Big E gives him confidence. He tells Miz that these two men have helped him with his confidence issues and that’s why he believes he can win tonight’s battle royal. Loud cheers from the crowd bringing a smile to the faces of Kofi and Big E. Miz then turns to Kofi looking to ask the former WWE Champion how he feels knowing he wins the rumble; he might face one of these two men at WrestleMania 37.

Kofi smiles and reminds Miz the winner of the Royal can choose to fight for either the WWE or the Universal title. He says it would be an honor fighting Big E or Woods or even both of them on the grandest stage of them all, but what would be better? Them all holding gold to end WrestleMania 37. Woods and Big E nod in agreement with a loud pop from the live crowd liking the idea as well. The Miz looks to carry on his questions but they are soon interrupted by…

*NO ONE WILL SURVIVE*

TOMMASO CIAMPA! He walks out onto the entrance ramp with a microphone in hand getting loud boos from the live crowd. Miz gets to his feet and makes it clear he is not welcome out here. Ciampa does the Scott Hall spooky fingers taunt before telling Miz he has no problem putting him down one more time. The A-Lister looks ready to leave the ring but Big E puts a hand on his shoulder and walks towards the ropes pointing at Ciampa at the top of the entrance ramp.

Big E tells Ciampa if he wants to fight, he can fight him right now. The former NXT Champion shakes his head telling Big E if they battle it will be on his terms not Big E’s. This brings boos from the crowd but he promises to not only see Big E later tonight but also to see Xavier Woods. Woods steps forward but Kofi keeps him back. Ciampa says he will do whatever it takes to become WWE Champion and that includes beating all of the New Day if he needs to. Ciampa drops the microphone leading to a stare down between him and The New Day as Raw goes to a commercial break.

When we returned from the commercial break, we cut to KEITH LEE standing backstage with the NXT World title on show and a slightly smug content look on his face. He starts the promo by giving credit to Damien Priest for his performance at NXT Takeover: Boxing Day and calls him a future star. Keith says he now has attention on the Royal Rumble and becoming the first-ever NXT star to win the Rumble but also his match next week with James Storm!

He says James Storm is someone he watched fighting all over America for years but he always had to bask in the glory of his friend Bobby. He promises to show James Storm why not only he is the NXT Champion but why he is going to win the Royal Rumble. He finishes the promo with a smile and a determined look before we cut back to the ring.

ISLA DAWN slowly walks onto the entrance ramp following after her with a slight smile on her face whilst the crowd cheers the witchy duo. Michael Cole says Nikki Cross will be looking to get closer to either a women’s title match or a spot in the Royal Rumble. Elias says she ain’t the only one as…

*WE RIOT*

RUBY RIOTT makes her way out! She is soon joined by her tag team partner SHOTZI BLACKHEART as the duo get boos from the live crowd. Michael Cole says 2020 is coming to an end and Ruby has not won a title, something she knows will be pissing her off. Elias talks about Ruby’s determination to finally win gold of some kind coming into this year and wonders if it will drive her even more in 2021. Ruby steps into the ring across from Nikki Cross as the referee rings the bell to get this match underway!

Match 5: Ruby Riott w/Shotzi Blackheart vs Nikki Cross w/Isla Dawn

Match summary: Ruby and Nikki are fairly familiar with each other at this point after their battles throughout the last couple of years on Raw and Smackdown. Ruby rides the wave of the early crazy offense from Nikki Cross and slowly starts to take control of the match as it goes on. Nikki does make a fight back but, in the end, Ruby hits Nikki Cross with the RIOT KICK!

Ruby Riott gets to her feet with a smile on her face as she stands tall over the laid-out Nikki Cross and has a smile on her face. Shotzi slides into the ring and raises her tag team partner’s hand into the air. Ruby signals she wants gold around her waist as Raw goes on a commercial break.

When we return from the commercial break, SUBCULTURE is standing backstage with DANI LUNA putting an ice pack on her neck. MARK ANDREWS tells Dani that they are both proud of her performance as FLASH MORGAN WEBSTER nods in agreement. Dani thanks the pair of them and tells the camera she knows she will be a champion in WWE one day and promises this is just the start of her career on Monday Night Raw unlike someone talking a bunch of trash: Mickie James.

Dani Luna says she heard the comments Mickie James and Alexa Bliss made about her. She tells the veteran that she will be happy to show her the victory over Alexa Bliss was far from a fluke telling her she will see the veteran next week. Mark and Flas meanwhile turn their attention to tonight’s battle royale knowing that they are underdogs but they both plan on shocking the world and one of them will fight Samoa Joe at the Royal Rumble for the WWE title!

*BRUTALITY*

RHEA RIPLEY! She gets loud cheers from the crowd and marches straight for the ring looking to destroy. The commentary team points out the force of nature Rhea Ripley has been since coming to Monday Night Raw from NXT and has to be one of the favorites to win the Royal Rumble. Rhea Ripley climbs over the ropes and steps into the ring across the ring from Jessamyn Duke as the referee calls for the bell to get this match underway.

Match 6: Rhea Ripley vs Jessamyn Duke w/Natalya

Match summary: Rhea takes control of the match and batters Duke from start to finish. Natalya tries to get involved in the closing stages but Rhea easily disposes of her before finishing Duke off with the RIPTIDE!

Rhea Ripley gets to her feet and celebrates the victory with a smirk on her face. Natalya grabs Duke and retreats to the back quickly, as the commentary team carries on putting Rhea Ripley over as Raw goes to a commercial break.

When we return from the commercial break, we can see K2 standing with smiles on their faces as they talk about heading to Wade Barrett’s office to see if they can enter the Royal Rumble. The duo is soon stopped by NIA JAX and MIA YIM who mock the duo for thinking they have a chance of being in the rumble. KATANA CHANCE points out Mia Yim hasn’t got a spot in the rumble herself yet leading to the heels challenging K2 to a tag team match next week with Mia saying she will prove why she belongs in the rumble and not them!

We then cut to the HURT BUSINESS inside their locker room with MVP, SAMOA JOE, CEDRIC ALEXANDER, SHELTON BENJAMIN and EJ NDUKA in fancy suits whilst SWERVE STRICKLAND and LIO RUSH are dressed for in-ring action. MVP looks at the camera and says even after a minor setback, looking directly at Shelton Benjamin when he says, business is booming as always with the main event soon to be another example bringing a smile to Swerve’s face.

Swerve walks over to Samoa Joe who looks unimpressed whilst the Intercontinental Champion has a smirk on his face. He tells Joe he might be seeing him real soon but Joe just responds by telling Swerve it doesn’t matter who wins, whoever he fights he will choke out all the same. Joe even gives Lio Rush a look who puts his hands up and tells Swerve it’s time for them to head to the ring bringing the segment to an end as Raw goes to a final commercial break.

MUSTAFA ALI makes his way out getting loud cheers from the live crowd. He plays to the fans and slaps hands with the kids in the front row before hopping over the ropes. Michael Cole brings up his recent I Quit match with Dolph Ziggler feeling like a break-out moment for him and Elias says he might have recently lost Cruiserweight gold but Mustafa Ali will be looking to get his hands back on some once again!

TOMMASO CIAMPA slowly walks onto the entrance ramp with his signature scowl before heading to the ring with purpose. Michael Cole brings up Ciampa looking to replace his precious Goldie from his time in NXT and the WWE title would be a more than fitting replacement. Elias says Ciampa is ruthless and will do whatever it takes to make it to the WWE title.

*WORLDS APART*

SAMI ZAYN gets loud cheers from the live crowd as he nods to the crowd and sprints to the ring looking fired up. Michael Cole brings up his Intercontinental title reign where he held the title for over 4 months, fighting all challengers that came to him. Elias says it took Sami years to win his first singles gold on Raw or Smackdown but he could be a big threat to Samoa Joe’s WWE title!

*NEW DAY, NEW WAY*

BIG E and XAVIER WOODS make their way out to loud cheers from the live crowd! Big E lifts his New-Day-themed Money in the Bank briefcase into the air before walking to the ring and tapping it. Michael Cole says Big E has had some big wins this year but he has also had some big near misses, losing the King of the Ring final and losing at Survivor Series to the Hurt Business.

*IT'S TIME*

SWERVE STRICKLAND and LIO RUSH make their way out as the final two men in this battle royal! Swerve lifts his Intercontinental title into the air whilst Lio lifts his Cruiserweight title into the air. Michael Cole says The Hurt Business has been a dominant force since forming on Raw and now holds all the male titles on Monday Night Raw. Elias says we saw tension with The Hurt Business and wonders what will happen if Lio Rush or Swerve Strickland wins this match. All 20 men stand in the ring as the bell is called to get this match underway!

Bate then shows off his insane power and LIFTS BARON CORBIN OVER THE TOP ROPE!

Ciampa meanwhile has broken away from Big E and is now battling with Angelo Dawkins. The tag team specialist does his best to take down the former NXT Champion but Ciampa tosses Dawkins out of the ring!

Ciampa smirked before coming face to face with Sami Zayn as the two men started to trade blows with one another. The Hurt Business show off their dominance by working together to toss Mark Andrews and Flash Morgan Webster from the ring!

Pete Dunne would turn around and CIAMPA WOULD SMASH HIM WITH A BRUTAL KNEE STRIKE! Dunne falls to the mat clutching his eyes in pain as Ciampa battles Ali for a bit. We see some referees talk to Dunne before nodding as Ciampa plants Ali to the mat and grabs Dunne, tossing him out of the match!

Dunne outside the ring is still clutching his eyes as the medical team comes to check on him. Ciampa mocks him in the ring before Ali goes back on the attack, laying into him! Elsewhere in the ring Lio Rush and Swerve Strickland have gotten split up with Swerve battling Sami and Rush battling Tyler Bate. James Storm meanwhile gets Ricochet over the top rope but Ricochet lands on the ring apron. Ricochet looks to leap off the ropes… LAST CALL SUPERKICK FROM JAMES STORM ELIMINATING HIM!

The crowd pops for the very cool elimination but James Storm looks at the fans with disdain before getting into it with Big E. The Hurt Business work together as they get Sami Zayn and Tyler Bate in trouble… BUT SAMI SENDS SWERVE BACKWARDS WHILST TYLE BATE COUNTERS RUSH AND ROSSES HIM OUT!

Swerve smirks to himself as he recovers in the ring resting by the ropes. Ali and Storm are locked in a close battle between the two men whilst Sami recovers in the corner of the ring. Big E and Ciampa are battling by the ropes with Ciampa laying in a series of clubbing blows trying to bring him down but BIG E CATCHES HIM WITH THE BOOTY DROP! He tosses Ciampa over the ropes… BUT CIAMPA HOLDS ON! Big E looks to unhook his hands… BUT SWERVE POUNCES AND ELIMINATES BIG E!

Swerve has a cocky smirk on his face whilst Ciampa looks to get away from him and survive in his own right! Swerve looks to go after him next… BUT WOODS COMES FIRING AND LAYS INTO SWERVE! Woods is looking for payback for Big E but Swerve clocks him with a BACKBREAKER! Swerve grabs Woods and looks to toss him from the ring but Woods fights back to survive! Ali gets back to his feet but gets clobbered by Ciampa looking to take advantage but Ali has it scouted. Woods then follows up with a DROPKICK SENDING SWERVE OUT OF THE RING!

We are down to the final four: MUSTAFA ALI, SAMI ZAYN, TOMMASO CIAMPA and XAVIER WOODS! Everyone goes to a separate corner before fighting in the middle of the ring, splitting off into Ali and Sami battling it out whilst Woods goes after Ciampa! The former tag team champion gives a good account of himself but in the end, Ciampa overpowers him and eliminates Woods from the match!

SAMOA JOE WALKS OUT ONTO THE ENTRANCE RAMP WITH HIS WWE TITLE AROUND HIS WAIST! Joe stands at the top of the entrance ramp getting a mixed reaction from the live crowd as he lifts his WWE title into the air and stares down Sami Zayn as Raw fades to black.

Sami Zayn becomes the new #1 Contender for the WWE Championship winning a 20 Man Over the Top Rope Battle Royal eliminating Mustafa Ali last to win...this means Zayn gets a WWE Championship match at Royal Rumble 2021 against the WWE Champion Samoa Joe of the Hurt Business...Joe/Zayn...what a matchup that will be. Given that Zayn just lost the WWE Intercontinental Championship to Swerve Strickland, he has a chance to get to that next level and be a main event guy a World Champion.

McIntyre has to be the favorite in the Men's Royal Rumble Match given he won the 2020 Men's Royal Rumble Match last year so can he go back to back? The last person to go back to back was WWE Hall of Famer The Texas Rattlesnake Stone Cold Steve Austin in 1997/1998 so could Drew do it again?

Then you have Keith Lee the NXT Champion also in the Rumble Match along with James Storm who is trying to enter

Kofi is entering but I wonder if Woods and Big E also enter the 2021 Men's Royal Rumble Match? That would be all 3 members of New Day

News Update:

Pete Dunne out of action for 2 months with an eye injury

Pete Dunne picked up an eye injury in the battle royal on Raw after a move from Tommaso Ciampa and is now out for the next couple of months. This means his match with Angel Garza on next week’s Raw is canceled and he will also miss the Royal Rumble. It is expected he will enter a feud with Tommaso Ciampa upon his return.

No usual cold open like normal for Smackdown Live as we cut to the commentary team of Corey Graves and Byron Saxton who welcome us to the show. They hype up the card tonight including Daniel Bryan vs Buddy Murphy and the main event of tonight’s show Bayley vs Ronda Rousey! We then pan around the ringside area showing all the ladders set up around the ring, meaning we are starting the show off with the WWE tag team titles ladder match!

*UNTOUCHABLE*

JACOB FATU and JIMMY USO march out onto the entrance ramp getting loud boos. Jacob snarls at the crowd and walks to the ring with a purpose whilst Jimmy talks trash to the live crowd. Byron brings up Jacob Fatu only being in this spot after replacing Jey Uso who picked up an injury at a house show. Corey says The Bloodline lost out on having an experienced tag team who knows each other well but instead replaced Jey with a killer who could destroy everyone in his path!

*FAST LANE*

BORN TO FLY make their way out next getting a loud pop from the live crowd. JEFF HARDY does his signature dance to the delight of the fans and gets MANSOOR to join in with him. Byron says the daredevil antics of Jeff Hardy and his experience in ladder matches could pay dividends for them. Corey Graves says those risks have also cost Jeff Hardy several matches too.

*HEAVY*

HEAVY MACHINERY make their way out next also getting loud cheers from the live crowd. TUCKER KNIGHT heads to the ring as OTIS DOZOVIC says a few words to MANDY ROSE who gives him a good luck kiss on the cheek. Byron says that will fire Otis up for sure tonight. Corey Graves comments that the size of Heavy Machinery might play against them in an environment usually best suited to quick and agile high-fliers.

*COAT OF ARMS*

THE UNGOVERNABLES walk out onto the entrance getting loud boos with ZELINA VEGA pointing towards the ring. SHINSUKE NAKAMURA and DOMINIK DIJAKOVIC walk to the ring with purpose, looking to keep the WWE tag team titles around their waist. Byron Saxton says Zelina has had some issues with her clients as of late and wonders what will happen if the pair lose their titles tonight. Corey points out how well these two have started to perform as a unit and says tonight could be no different. All 8 men stand in the ring as the referee calls for the bell to get the match underway!

Match 1: WWE tag team titles ladder match: The Ungovernables © vs Jacob Fatu and Jimmy Uso vs Born to Fly vs Heavy Machinery

Match summary: Jacob Fatu right from the start of the match goes wild and shows just how much of a lethal threat he is. Dominik Dijakovic has to bring him down with a wicked ladder shot to stop him in the early stages. Dijakovic and Nakamura from there would try to get the match over quickly but Heavy Machinery would overpower them, stopping the tag champions from keeping their tag team titles in the early stages. Mansoor and Jeff Hardy meanwhile would be leaping off the ladders and even doing a POETRY IN MOTION TO JIMMY USO!

Jacob Fatu not to be outdone though would shortly after hit his own WHISPER IN THE WIND ON JEFF HARDY! Jacob Fatu once again is showing off his insane speed and agility with Heavy Machinery having to double-team him to stop him and PUT HIM THROUGH A LADDER WITH THE COMPACTOR! Otis soon though gets stunned by DIJAKOVIC LEAPING OFF A LADDER HITTING A CORKSCREW MOONSAULT! The crowd goes wild for the insane move from someone his size.

With everyone down around the ring, ZELINA VEGA runs out to try to grab the titles to give to her clients! However, as she gets part way up the ladder, MANDY ROSE RUNS OUT AND ATTACKS ZELINA VEGA! The two women start to brawl with each other and end up heading to the backstage area, both still laying into each other with a series of strikes. Jimmy Uso is back on his feet and he tries to sneak into the ring… BUT MANSOOR STOPS HIM!

Mansoor keeps the match alive for his team and manages to take down Jimmy Uso before turning around… POUNCE FROM JACOB FATU SENDING HIM ACROSS THE RING! Jacob Fatu goes on a tear crushing everyone who tries to get into the ring to stop him… UNTIL A CYCLONE KICK FROM DIJAKOVIC SENDS HIM TO THE FLOOR! Fatu lands on the outside and is still ready to fight… NAKAMURA CLOBBERS HIM WITH A LADDER!

Nakamura pummels him with the ladder… AS HEAVY MACHINERY AND JEFF HARDY JOIN IN PILING A BUNCH OF LADDERS ONTO JACOB FATU BURYING HIM AND TAKING HIM OUT! As the match carries on from there Heavy Machinery clashes with The Ungovernables as both teams try to get hold of the titles before MANSOOR WIPES EVERYONE OUT IN INSANE FASHION! Jimmy Uso tries to also sneak in to pull down the titles a couple of times BUT IS STOPPED EACH TIME!

As we approach the end of the match, once again we can see TUCKER KNIGHT in the ring with MANSOOR as they battle in the ring on the ladder, fighting to make it to the tag team titles. However, as they battle in the ring, outside… JACOB FATU RISES FROM THE LADDERS LIKE A MONSTER FROM A HORROR FILM! The crowd lets out a HOLY SHIT chant for the big move as Otis looks to head back into the ring… LOW BLOW FROM NAKAMURA STOPPING HIM IN HIS TRACKS! Loud boos from the crowd but Shinsuke slowly climbs up the ladder… MANSOOR CRAWLS OUT OF THE WRECKAGE AND CLIMBS THE LADDER TOO! Nakamura is inches away from pulling down the tag team titles… BUT MANSOOR STOPS HIM! Both men battle at the top of the ladder until MANSOOR HITS A SPANISH FLY FROM THE LADDER WIPING BOTH MEN OUT!

Jimmy Uso would slide into the ring getting loud boos from the crowd as he has a cocky smirk on his face and starts to mock the crowd as he climbs the ladder thinking he has won the match… OTIS APPEARS BEHIND HIM AND SCOOPS HIM OFF THE LADDER… WORLD STRONGEST SLAM ONTO A LADDER IN THE RING! Jimmy screams in pain and rolls out of the ring as Otis makes the climb. He is inches from the top of the ladder as DIJAKOVIC STIRS… BUT TUCKER GRABBED HIS LEGS AND STOPPED HIM ALLOWING OTIS TO PULL DOWN THE TAG TEAM TITLES!

Winners and NEW WWE Tag Team Champions: Heavy Machinery (14:26)

The crowd goes wild as Otis celebrates at the top of the ladder before smiling as he sees his friend Tucker having made the save to make sure the duo could become two-time tag team champions! Otis comes down off the ladder and hugs Tucker as they lift the belts into the air. The commentary team talks about all the carnage around ringside and focuses on how much was needed to stop Jacob Fatu in this match, calling him a true monster. Heavy Machinery carry on their celebration at the top of the entrance ramp whilst Dijakovic fumes leaning on the ropes as we cut to a commercial break.

When we return from the commercial break, ZELINA VEGA and MANDY ROSE are still brawling with each other in the backstage area. Mandy and Vega both want a piece of each other as security appears to break the fight up! SHAWN MICHAELS soon comes into the shot and tells the two women if they want to fight, they can do it next week in the ring. Zelina tries to protest saying she is a manager but Mandy tells her she’ll see her next week angering Vega!

We then cut to the CHURCH OF SETH ROLLINS as KARRION KROSS stands in front of the camera with SCARLETT BORDEAUX hanging off him and rubbing her man’s chest. THE AUTHORS OF PAIN flank either side of him whilst NATHAN FRAZER hangs out in the background. Karrion has a scowl on his face saying the Church has had some tough times as of late but a New Year represents a chance for the group to get on track. Kross looks at AOP and Frazer before turning back to the camera.

Karrion Kross talks about Kevin Owens and talks about him meddling in affairs that were not his to meddle in. Kross promises to make an example out of Owens and crush him in a sacrifice for their fallen god Seth Rollins. Akam and Rezar keep it short and sweet, promising to crush the Mysterios. Nathan Frazer meanwhile issues a challenge to the new young kid on the block: Daniel Garcia for the New Year Revolution pre-show promising to show him what happens when a real mentor teaches you.

*THRONE OF GOLD*

DEONNA PURRAZZO makes her way out to the shock of the crowd here at Smackdown and she is holding the NXT Women’s title! She looks at the crowd with a smug look on her face before heading to the ring. Byron Saxton informs us of the fact that Deonna won the NXT Women’s title at NXT Takeover Boxing Day from Io Shirai. Corey Graves puts Deonna over as a master tactician between the ropes and one of the smartest wrestlers he has ever seen as she steps into the ring with a microphone.

Deonna introduces herself to the crowd by telling the fans who are not educated enough to know her (immediately getting loud boos from the crowd) that she is the virtuoso Deonna Purrazzo! She tells the crowd that they probably don’t know what virtuoso means so she will explain it to them. She explains a virtuoso is someone who possesses outstanding talent and technical ability in a specific field. She has a smug smirk on her face before telling the fans that there is no one better between these ropes than her.

Deonna lifts the NXT Women’s title into the air and tells the crowd that this is a symbol of her excellence and she intends to prove it. She tells the booing crowd she is happy to show her genius between the ropes and that’s why she is entering the Royal Rumble! Deonna says there might be 29 other women in that match but none of them are the virtuoso. She drops the microphone and stands tall in the ring having sent a big message to the Raw and Smackdown roster tonight!

When we return from the commercial break, KEVIN OWENS and THE MYSTERIOS are standing backstage with a serious look on their faces. Kevin Owens says he has had enough of the garbage that comes out of the mouth of Karrion Kross. He says he gets his lines from Creepypasta and looks forward to cracking him in the jaw before turning his attention back to the Universal title!

REY MYSTERIO meanwhile says The Authors of Pain have been bullying the roster ever since they arrived, crushing whoever gets in their way as they look to “inflict their pain” on the roster. He says they have had enough and as father/son they will bring the Authors down. DOMINIK MYSTERIO chimes in saying he has learned everything from his dad and promises to fight with as much heart as his father does every time he steps into the ring by his side.

ERICK ROWAN walks out onto the entrance ramp and gets boos from the crowd, scowling at the fans on the way to the ring. The commentary team talks about Erick Rowan being all alone after John Morrison’s recent injury. They say a win tonight will help him establish himself as he waits for…

*BRAUN/I AM STRONGER*

BRAUN STROWMAN! He gets a loud pop from the live crowd, making his return to the ring tonight. He marches with a purpose, cutting an imposing presence on the way to the ring. The commentary team discusses Braun taking some time off but now he is back, he is ready to go on a tear once again. Braun stands across the ring from Rowan as the referee calls for the bell to get this match underway!

Match 2: Braun Strowman vs Erick Rowan

Match summary: Braun and Rowan clobber each other in a battle of the hosses with Rowan holding his own better than expected… BUT BRAUN STILL OVERPOWERS HIM AND TOSSES HIM AROUND THE RING CRUSHING ROWAN! Braun does all of his signature moves to the delight of the fans before putting away Rowan with the RUNNING POWERSLAM!

Loud cheers from the live crowd as Braun Strowman rises to his feet and roars to the delight of the fans. The commentary team puts over how dominant he was in the match tonight and wonders who can stop him as Braun is passed a microphone. Braun keeps it short and sweet telling the fans that he is entering the Royal Rumble getting a huge pop from the fans! He warns the other 29 men in the match if they get in his way, they will get these hands!

*ROOT OF ALL EVIL*

ALEISTER BLACK’S music hits as we return from the commercial break as he slowly rises from the depths of the arena with his Universal title on his shoulder. He stands at the top of the entrance ramp and surveys the crowd, soaking in the loud cheers from the live crowd. The commentary team says Aleister Black has confirmed he wants to speak to AJ Styles face-to-face in the ring after his sneak attack a few weeks ago. Black limps as he walks down the entrance ramp still struggling with his leg.

Once in the middle of the ring he stands in the middle of the ring looking at the live crowd. He doesn’t sit in his usual cross-legged fashion due to the leg injury, instead looking into the crowd before addressing the fans. Black tells the fans that we have entered a New Year and this is the time when people make promises ahead of the coming months hoping to better themselves. Black calls it a noble goal but says a lot of the promises people make they end up falling… like AJ Styles!

The Phenomenal One gets a loud mixed reaction from the live crowd which leans towards boos from the fans. Aleister Black says AJ Styles has made the promise for this to be his year and become a World Champion once again. He says AJ can make all the promises he wants but he is in the twilight of his days and the New Year will be the same as the old year where he will fade… fade to black. Loud cheers from the live crowd as Black looks at the crowd ready to carry on speaking until…

*PHENOMENAL*

AJ STYLES WALKS OUT! He has a microphone in hand still getting a mixed reaction pointing at Black in the ring and telling him that everything he is saying is untrue. He tells Black that he is bringing the Universal title back to the O.C.! That gets loud boos from the live crowd before walking down the entrance ramp towards the ring. He says the crowd can dislike the O.C. but bringing them back to WWE has made him get back to his strength and that has put him in this position.

AJ now stands in the ring in front of Black who cracks a rare smile prompting Styles to ask what he is smiling about. Black tells AJ the reason for him turning around his career during the last year wasn’t the O.C., it was down to AJ himself. The Phenomenal One seems confused but Black tells him that the group is holding him back and he will soon realize he doesn’t need the O.C., he will need real friends when he fails to become Universal Champion!

Aleister Black walks out of the ring and heads up the entrance ramp, still slightly limping as AJ tells him to turn around. Black stops as he looks at Styles in the ring who tells him that he can see the chinks in the armor of Black. He can hide behind the mysterious persona all he wants but that leg, he will pick it apart this Sunday and he will prove he is still the Phenomenal One! AJ drops the microphone leading to stare down with Aleister Black as Smackdown goes to a commercial break!

BUDDY MURPHY makes his way out after the commercial break with a serious look on his face. He ignores the fans getting boos on the way to the ring as the commentary team reminds us of the fact Buddy Murphy asked for this match tonight wanting to prove himself and pull off an upset win over a multiple-time World Champion.

*FLIGHT OF VALKYRIES*

DANIEL BRYAN makes his way out getting loud cheers from the crowd and even leads them in a YES chant on the way to the ring! He has a smile on his face as he climbs into the ring ready for action. The commentary team mentions Daniel Bryan has confirmed himself for the Royal Rumble later this month but mentioned he feels like he is heading towards the end of his career. Bryan stands across the ring from Murphy offering a handshake but the Aussie turns it down. Bryan shrugs and heads to the corner as the referee calls for the bell to get this match underway!

Match 3: Daniel Bryan vs Buddy Murphy

Match summary: Early on in the match, both men lock up in the middle of the ring trying to gain the upper hand on one another. Bryan brings Buddy down to the mat and starts to work over him on the mat. Buddy gets annoyed by Bryan’s superior submission work but the Aussie manages to stay alive. Buddy starts to make a fight back with a series of kicks and knees putting the pressure on the former World Champion as the match reaches the middle stages.

Buddy Murphy is giving it everything as he catches Bryan by surprise but he stays alive and even catches Buddy Murphy going for a KAMIGOYE WITH A HEEL HOOK! Bryan has the move locked in tight wrenching on the leg of Buddy trying to force him to tap out but Murphy manages to scramble to the ropes. Bryan is now in control as he viciously lays into Murphy and kicks the shot out of Murphy before heading to the corner ready for the BUSAIKU KNEE!

He charges in looking to take the head off of Murphy… BUDDY MOVES OUT OF THE WAY AND BRYAN COLLIDES WITH THE TURNBUCKLE! Buddy Murphy grabs hold of Bryan and connects with a NECKBREAKER! Bryan falls to the mat and Buddy takes advantage, hitting him with not one but two KAMIGOYES! He then scoops up the prone Bryan and plants him with MURPHY’S LAW! Buddy makes the cover and picks up the shock win!

Buddy Murphy gets to his feet with a smug smirk on his face as he celebrates a huge career win over Daniel Bryan. Once it sinks in with the live crowd, they start to boo Buddy Murphy but he doesn’t care as he celebrates the win in the ring. The commentary team says put it over as a huge upset and a win like this could put Buddy in line for a title shot in the future. Bryan wakes up in the ring almost in shock after the lock Buddy celebrates at the top of the entrance ramp as we cut to the commercial break.

When we return from the commercial break, we cut to the O.C. LOCKER ROOM as FINN BALOR stands with THE GOOD BROTHERS, BIG CASS and a smirking BUDDY MURPHY! Finn Balor tells Buddy Murphy he is proud of his performance tonight and beating Daniel Bryan proves he should be going after the Universal title. Big Cass noticeably side-eyes Finn Balor before shaking his head with Buddy Murphy gloating about his win!

Finn Balor then turns his attention to New Year’s Revolution and tells Gable he will beat 2-0, promising to keep the United States title where it belongs: in the O.C.! Big Cass then steps forward wanting something to say himself. He tells the camera that he knows his pal AJ will beat Aleister Black (with Finn Balor giving a telling look in the background) but he wants to fight what’s left of Aleister next week on Smackdown. Finn Balor smirks, liking that challenge as the promo comes to an end!

EMBER MOON is then shown walking through the back with her security guards protecting her as KAYLA BRAXTON approaches her looking for an interview with Ember. She asks the former WWE Women’s Champion how she is feeling ahead of fighting Conti at New Year’s Revolution. Ember calls the Brazilian badass a cheap hussy who is soon going to learn her place when she steps into the ring with Ember and gets broken like a cheap porcelain doll…

AS XIA LI APPEARS WITH A KENDO STICK ATTACKING THE SECURITY GUARDS! Ember Moon mocks Xia Li and tells her she ain’t going to stand a chance against the security guards! Ember though doesn’t realize… TAYNARA CONTI IS STANDING BEHIND HER! She spins Ember around and clocks her in the face before laying in a series of punches! She gets off several shots before a swarm of other security guards appear pulling the two women apart!

Roman looks at Edge and smirks telling him he will see him on Sunday before walking off with the rest of the Bloodline!

The commentary team puts over her rise and performances in 2020 with her joining Smackdown remaining undefeated in matches since joining the Blue brand. She stands in the ring, refusing to back down or be scared of the Iiconics as she waits for…

*THE FUTURE (V2)*

ASUKA! The WWE Women’s Champion walks out with her signature cocky smirk on her face as she shows off the title before walking to the ring, getting loud cheers from the live crowd. The commentary team says Asuka requested this match wanting payback on the Iiconics for their cheap attack a few weeks ago. Asuka steps into the ring as Belair tells the champ she will start. Asuka shrugs whilst Peyton Royce starts for the Iiconics!

Match 4: Asuka and Bianca Belair vs The Iiconics

Match summary: Belair dominates the match and batters Peyton Royce with Billie Kay struggling when she tries to step into the ring. Belair though soon struggles as she refuses to tag Asuka wanting to destroy the Iiconics herself. She eventually overcomes the teamwork of the pair to make the tag and ASUKA IS A HOUSE ON FIRE! She looks to end Billie Kay with a SPIN KICK… BELAIR TAGS HERSELF BACK IN! Asuka looks annoyed as Belair scoops up Billie and hits the K.O.D.!

When we return from the commercial break, we cut to clips of CHAD GABLE training under the instructions of KURT ANGLE as he grapples with MATT RIDDLE! We can see both men trading holds and submissions, testing each other as DANIEL GARCIA watches on taking notes. He turns to the camera and tells us that this is how he learns. He says he heard the challenge from Nathan Frazer and accepts his fight, promising to show everything he has learned before turning his attention back to his stablemates grappling in the ring.

She talks about 2020 being a bad year for her with her on and off TV with injuries but plans to prove in 2021 that Mella is money issuing a challenge to Marina Shafir for next week’s Smackdown before saying it’s time to join her friend at ringside. The commentary team confirms the main event is up next!

The commentary team says Bayley wanted this match more than any other after coming up short against Ronda Rousey earlier last year for the Women's Universal title.

RONDA ROUSEY walks out getting loud boos from the live crowd, showing off her WWE Women’s tag team title before walking to the ring followed by SHAYNA BASZLER and MARINA SHAFIR! Shayna shows off her tag team titles as the commentary puts over the MMA Horsewomen being desperate to not only keep the gold currently around their waist but also add back the WWE and Universal Women’s titles. Ronda climbs into the ring and the referee rings the bell to get this match underway!

Main event: Bayley w/Sasha Banks and Carmella vs Ronda Rousey w/Shayna Baszler and Marina Shafir

Match summary: Bayley and Ronda battle with each other early on with Bayley being aggressive going right after Ronda Rousey. She is caught off guard by this and has to roll out of the ring to regroup. Carmella and Banks outside the ring keep the MMA Horsewomen from getting involved in the match by keeping an eye on them. Ronda starts to take control of the match by working over Bayley’s right arm, setting her up for the armbar but Bayley keeps out of it for now!

Ronda though uses the damage to her advantage as Bayley finds it hard to fight back against the 3-time Women’s champion who overpowers her and tosses her around the ring. Bayley’s never-die attitude keeps her alive in this match but it is potentially getting her in trouble as Ronda picks her arm apart. Sasha Banks and Carmella cheer her on, trying to will Bayley on but as we reach the closing stages of the match, RONDA GETS THE ARMBAR LOCKED IN!

She wrenches back on the hold and Bayley is in a ton of pain in the middle of the ring, as she crawls to the bottom rope with everything she has… GRABBING HOLD OF IT TO BREAK THE HOLD! Loud cheers from the crowd as Ronda keeps the hold locked in till the count of 5 before letting go! Sasha gets angry getting on the ring apron… SHAYNA AND SHAFIR USE THIS TO ATTACK BANKS AND CARMELLA OUTSIDE THE RING!

Back in the ring, Ronda grabs Bayley looking to bring her to the middle of the ring… BAYLEY COUNTERS WITH A BAYLEY TO BELLY! Bayley considers going for the cover but sees her friends in trouble outside the ring and WIPES OUT THE REST OF THE MMA HORSEWOMEN! She gets back up and goes into the ring… RONDA POUNCES AND HITS PIPER’S PIT! Ronda hooks the leg and takes the victory!

The crowd loudly boos but Ronda just responds to it by taunting the fans. The commentary team says this showed the ruthlessness of Ronda Rousey, taking advantage of the distraction caused by her allies and the lethalness of this group. Back outside the ring, Shayna Baszler and Marina Shafir carry on the attack whilst Ronda tosses Bayley out of the ring and sends him into the barricade! The beatdown carries on with Smackdown ending with Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler holding their WWE Women’s tag team titles in the air as we fade to black!

- WWE Universal Champion Aleister Black pouring seeds of dissension within The OC and honestly I can see AJ Styles being kicked out of his own Club because the tension has always been there with his co leader Finn Balor who is WWE United States Champion and Balor & Styles both having massive egos...how can they really co exist? Either Balor gets kicked out or Styles does...not enough room for both of them to be leader...it seems Aleister can not only play supernatural mind games with the lights going out and coming back on and disappearing & reappearing at will but he can play mind games with his opponent's mind by planting seeds of doubt or dissension too.

- With Natalya entering the 2021 Women's Royal Rumble Match as an MMA Horsewomen member I wonder if her fellow stablemates will also enter the 2021 Women's Royal Rumble Match like Shafir, Duke, Shayna Baszler and Ronda Rousey? If that happens, that gives the MMA Horsewomen a huge advantage in the Women's match? That faction will work together and get rid of everyone until it is just down to them

- With Nia Jax entering the Women's Royal Rumble Match...she could even end up crossing paths with her family in that match like her cousin Tamina or her cousin in law Naomi in that match...we know Nia is Bloodline even though she's on a different show

- Strowman in his 1st match back from injury especially after being gone for so long beats his former Wyatt Family teammate in Erick Rowan...who can ever forget their history? Not only did Braun beat him, he completely dominated him

- Ember Moon vs Tay Conti has become oh so very personal very quickly

- Ronda Rousey one half of the WWE Women's Tag Team Champions beats Bayley in the main event...Ronda has been on a warpath ever since losing the WWE Women's Championship beating her opponents by hook or by crook she's getting it done. All be it she had help from her tag team partner and the other half of the WWE Women's Tag Team Champions Shayna Baszler, Marina Shafir, Duke & Natalya even if Bayley had backup in Sasha Banks & Carmella...it didn't much matter...numbers game catches up every time

- I already knew what time it was with the WWE Women's Champion Asuka & her New Year's Revolution opponent Bianca Belair and this close to the pay per view that these 2 would turn on each other...and they more or less did after the match was over and done beating The IIconics....with Bianca being the one to attack Asuka...I definitely would have expected it to be Asuka..it's only business not personal especially when that title is on the line

- I knew that The Bloodline attacking Edge backstage was definitely facilitated by Roman Reigns...The Tribal Chief who obviously was not happy that his cousins Jacob Fatu & Jimmy Uso did not walk out with the WWE Tag Team Championship...but what kind of condition will Edge be in come New Year's

- Love how in The Academy they constantly train...Kurt Angle breeds winners and Gable is proof of that along with Matt Riddle and Daniel Garcia and Daniel Bryan is a part of that. Church of Rollins member Nathan Frazier vs Daniel Garcia...I can't wait but I wonder if Angle will have all of his guys in the Men's Royal Rumble Match?

New Year’s Revolution recap:

WWE Women's tag team titles match: Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler (c) vs The Boss 'n' Hug Connection

The MMA Horsewomen and The Four Horsewomen have been at war with each other for most of 2020. Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler have made it their mission to bring down the Women’s division that the Four Horsewomen had built, looking to reshape it in their own image. Shayna and Ronda have won every Women’s title on Raw and Smackdown: WWE, Universal and Tag Team in 2020 but now they only have the tag team titles left!

Asuka would take the WWE Women’s title from Ronda Rousey on Smackdown and Charlotte Flair would take the Women’s Universal title from Shayna Baszler at Starrcade. Ronda and Shayna would be very open about their anger over this but in the background, an old team was getting back to winning ways and earning themselves a shot at the tag team titles: The Boss ‘n’ Hug Connection! Having fallen out as friends in 2019, Sasha and Bayley would make up, finally trusting each other again in 2020 in time to help the Four Horsewomen win inside War Games.

Once War Games had finished, the Boss ‘n’ Hug Connection focused on racking up wins as a tag team and putting themselves in line for a shot at the WWE Women’s tag titles: the titles they were the very first holders of. Bayley and Banks each stand at 3 tag team titles (2 with each other with Bayley holding them with Kairi Sane and Banks with Charlotte Flair), the tag team specialist of the division but no one has beaten the pairing of Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler in a tag team match. Will they be the first to do so and become 4-time tag team champions each?

Universal title match: Aleister Black (c) vs AJ Styles

Aleister Black made his return at King of the Ring looking for revenge for the fireball attack that still scars his face and would get it very quickly as he took back his Universal title from Seth Rollins to become a 2-time champion. Aleister Black would turn his focus to the future and whoever would be coming for his title now he had sent Seth Rollins “to hell”. Aleister Black would find out in the coming weeks that his challenger at New Year’s Revolution would be AJ Styles coming off being the sole survivor at Survivor Series for Team O.C.

AJ Styles would make it clear that he had a rough 2020, including losing at WrestleMania 36 to Chad Gable for the United States title. He said 2021 was the year he gets back to the top of the house AJ Styles built, even hitting a chop block to Black’s injured right leg in the weeks leading up to the match. Black would respond with words instead telling AJ that he thinks the O.C. is giving him strength but instead, they are weighing him down and promised to keep the Universal title around his waist.

WWE Women’s title match: Asuka © vs Bianca Belair

Asuka would pull off a huge win when she defeated Ronda Rousey on Smackdown Live to become a 3-time Women’s Champion. Watching the match at ringside, she would be the number one contender to the WWE Women’s title after coming from 3-1 down at Survivor Series and leading her team to victory: Bianca Belair. Belair would stop Marina Shafir from getting involved making sure it was a fair fight as Belair over the last couple of months has seen the fans warming up to her even if she is as cocky as ever.

Bianca Belair since joining Smackdown Live in the draft has been in her own words UN-DE-FEAT-ED in the 6 months on the brand. In the lead-up to the match, Asuka and Belair have had to deal with the Iiconics sticking their nose in and attacking the pair of them. Belair would have the last laugh laying out Asuka but will she be ready for the champion? Or will Asuka get to break an undefeated streak of her own to start this New Year off in great fashion?

US title 2 out of 3 falls match: Finn Balor (c) vs Chad Gable

Finn Balor made his return to the WWE by targeting Chad Gable after a United States title match with Bobby Roode and aligning himself with the Good Brothers to form the O.C. Finn Balor would get his shot at the title and take it from Chad Gable at Summerslam thanks to assistance from new O.C. member Buddy Murphy. The group would soon get even bigger as AJ Styles and Big Cass would join the group as well, leading to Chad Gable forming the Alpha Academy to try to fight them.

Matt Riddle, Daniel Bryan and Daniel Garcia would have Chad Gable’s back in his battles with the O.C.. Still, Balor would avoid giving Gable a rematch, even giving US title matches to all the other members of the Academy and not Gable! Even getting an elimination on him at Survivor Series didn’t stop Balor from trying to avoid him until AJ made a deal with HBK to get his Universal title shot and the Good Brothers a qualifying match for the WWE tag team titles ladder in return for Finn Balor defending his United States title at New Year’s Revolution.

Chad Gable and Finn Balor would each take part in a beat-the-clock challenge on Smackdown with the winner getting to pick the stipulation for New Year’s Revolution. Chad Gable would win the challenge and would tell Finn Balor that not only is everyone banned from ringside to stop Finn cheating like he did at Summerslam but also it will be a two out of three falls match! Will Chad Gable become a 2-time United States Champion or will Finn Balor escape with the United States title once again?

Roman Reigns vs Edge

Roman Reigns and Edge both want a shot at the Universal title. Edge held the title for 6 weeks after winning it at Summerslam before losing it at No Mercy to Seth Rollins inside Hell in a Cell. Roman Reigns wants his spot at the top of Smackdown back after losing the WWE title to Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 36. And this would lead to both men clashing as they each made their intentions clear.

Roman Reigns and Edge would trade words week after week whilst Edge wrapped up his feud with the Church of Seth Rollins. Roman would make it clear he would fight on his terms and that Edge would not goad him into a fight. On the go-home Smackdown Live, Roman would get the Bloodline to attack Edge backstage and lay him out sending a clear message. Who will get themselves in line for a shot at the Universal title heading into WrestleMania season?

Ember Moon vs Taynara Conti

Ember Moon’s frustration would grow after losing her WWE Women’s title to Bayley at Summerslam. She would try to win the title back but came up short leading to a feud with Belair as she reminded the cocky newcomer that she had beaten her on the Smackdown after WrestleMania. Belair would keep picking up wins leading to HBK making a Survivor Series match with the winning captain getting a WWE Women’s title shot at New Year’s Revolution.

Taynara Conti would join Ember’s team and things would be going well until Ember and Conti started to argue when it was 3-1. Belair would come back eliminating Conti, Xia Li and Ember to win the match. Ember would blame Conti for this and even attack her plus her tag team partner Xia Li from behind. Conti would promise to kick Ember’s ass looking for revenge leading to this match being made. Will Conti kick Ember’s ass or will Ember Moon’s new attitude pay off getting her back into the title picture?

Kevin Owens vs Karrion Kross

Karrion Kross is leading the Church of Seth Rollins in his absence but has been having trouble imposing their will on the likes of The Mysterios, Heavy Machinery, Aleister Black, Edge and now Kevin Owens too! Kevin Owens would get involved being sick of the actions of the Church. Kross angry with this, would challenge Kevin Owens to a match at New Year’s Revolution. Will Kross teach Kevin Owens a lesson or will the prize-fighter put Kross in his place?

Tornado tag street fight: The Authors of Pain vs The Mysterios

The Mysterios and The Authors of Pain have been at war as part of the general feud between The Mysterios and The Church of Seth Rollins ever since Rey returned to the ring just before Summerslam. The Authors of Pain took out Dominik Mysterio but now he is back by his father’s side for revenge. Rey issued the challenge for a tornado tag street fight. Will the father and son duo be able to get a measure of payback on the Authors of Pain or will the dominant duo take them both out this time?

Daniel Garcia vs Nathan Frazer

Daniel Garcia has been impressing the fans since debuting at Survivor Series as part of Alpha Academy, nearly winning the match for his team. The young superstar has been making waves angering Nathan Frazer who was the first young kid on the scene. He issued the challenge to Daniel Garcia promising to show he is the future of the WWE, not Garcia. Who will win when these young superstars collide to start the New Year?

The New Year’s Revolution pre-show starts with its usual pre-show panel segments before we cut backstage as KAYLA BRAXTON approaches FRANKY MONET looking for an interview. Kayla asks about John Morrison and his recovery with Franky saying her beautiful husband will be back in action soon but she has her own announcement. She tells Kayla she will be entering the Royal Rumble planning to win it in honor of her husband.

Daniel Garcia vs Nathan Frazer

Match summary: Garcia and Frazer come into this match with a lot to prove and different styles of wrestling. Frazer would work at a fast pace and use his agility to try to overwhelm the more tactical and technical Daniel Garcia. The Alpha Academy student has to use all of his teaching in this match to keep Frazer at bay but he slowly starts to work over the legs of Frazer and brings him down to the mat, slowing down his fast-pace offense to take control of the match.

Garcia shows a few of the tricks he might have picked up from Riddle, Gable, Bryan and Angle as he even gets an ANKLE LOCK LOCKED IN… BUT FRAZER FLIPS OUT OF IT TO ESCAPE THE HOLD! Frazer gets a bit more frantic, sensing he might be in danger but that proves to cost him as he crashes and burns off a PHOENIX SPLASH attempt! Garica takes advantage and LOCKS HIM IN A SHARPSHOOTER! The commentary team says Daniel Garcia calls it the DRAGON TAMER and it is enough to force Frazer to tap out!

Winner via submission: Daniel Garcia (9:47)

Daniel Garcia lets go of the hold and celebrates the victory. The commentary team puts both men over and they comment that both men should have a bright future within the WWE as the pre-show carries on.

We cut to one of the locker rooms backstage as the BOSS ‘N’ HUG CONNECTION are hanging out with each other. BAYLEY is working out whilst SASHA BANKS looks deep in thought before turning to Bayley to speak. Sasha asks her best friend if she is ready for tonight. Bayley stops for a moment a bit confused but tells Sasha of course she is with a smile on her face. Sasha remains serious as she looks at Bayley and says she knows what she means by that.

Bayley walks over to Sasha and tells her that she has her full trust. Banks nods but Bayley tells her she means it. Bayley says they walked into War Games together and beat them. Tonight, we finally beat Ronda, we beat Shayna Baszler for good and take everything from them. Banks smiles and says that’s what she needed to hear, promising to show the MMA Horsewomen the Legit Boss tonight. Bayley and Banks hug before they go back to warming up ahead of their tag team title match later tonight.

We then cut elsewhere backstage as THE MYSTERIOS are on the way to the ring, ready for their street fight with the Authors of Pain when they bump into KEVIN OWENS! They exchange a few friendly words as they wish each other luck… as KEVIN PULLS OUT A BASEBALL BAT! DOMINIK MYSTERIO steps back a tiny bit but Owens smiles saying this is if anyone from the Church thinks about getting involved. REY MYSTERIO chuckles and heads to the ring ready for action.

Tornado tag street fight: The Authors of Pain vs The Mysterios

Match summary: The Mysterio starts the match at a quick pace and dives out of the ring wiping out both members of The Authors of Pain. They brawl outside the ring and use weapons to overcome the size advantage of their opponents tonight putting them on the back foot early on. However, it doesn’t last long and the Authors of Pain thanks to their superior size control the match, tossing around the pair of them and focusing most of their assault on Dominik!

Rey Mysterio does his best to help his son but he finds himself on several occasions being put down or swatted away like a fly. The Authors of Pain try to make the cover on Rey but each time his son Dominik keeps the match alive for their team. The Authors of Pain are noticeably getting more frustrated and the boos from the crowd get louder as AIDEN ENGLISH runs out from the crowd looking to help his stablemates. The Mysterios soon get back up though as…

KEVIN OWENS RUNS DOWN THE RAMP WITH A BASEBALL BAT IN HAND! Aiden English turns around and gets clobbered with the bat before Owens hits a STUNNER sending him out of the ring. He beats up and removes him from the ringside area as THE MYSTERIOS WORK TOGETHER WITH STEEL CHAIRS! The clobbers the Authors of Pain sending Akam out of the ring. Rey then climbs to the top rope after Dom puts Rezar on a table AND HITS A DIVING FROG SPLASH FOR THE WIN!

Winners via pinfall: The Mysterios (12:48)

The Mysterios get to their feet and celebrate the victory having overcome the two giants tonight. The commentary team gives the father and son duo credit whilst also commenting on Kevin Owens making sure it stayed a fair fight. Rey looks at the camera and signals for belts, maybe hinting at the father and son duo looking to go after the tag team titles in the coming weeks.

The final segment of the pre-show we will be covering has CHAD GABLE heading down the hallway reading for action when he is stopped by KEVIN PATRICK looking for an interview with him. He asks him about his game plan going into a 2 out of 3 falls match tonight. Chad Gable says he is going to treat the first fall like a normal match and focus on getting that first fall. He promises from there he will pick apart Finn Balor and break his ankle so he can no longer run away from him! Gable walks off and heads to the ring ready for the first match of the night!

The opening video for the PPV comes to an end as we pan around the arena before cutting to the commentary team at ringside as BYRON SAXTON and COREY GRAVES welcome us to the show. They run down the matches for the show tonight before confirming the PPV will start with the United States 2 out of 3 falls title match!

*ELITE*

CHAD GABLE makes his way out getting loud cheers from the live crowd. He is joined by KURT ANGLE who wishes him luck before heading to the back whilst Gable carries on walking to the ring. The commentary team brings up Gable’s impressive 8-month reign which started in 2019 before losing the belt to Finn Balor at last year’s Summerslam. They point out that Balor has been trying to avoid this rematch but finally, Gable has his chance to win the United States title back.

*I AM DANGER*

FINN BALOR makes his way out and holds the United States title in the air with a scowl on his face, with no O.C. to back him up tonight! The crowd loudly boos the United States Champion en route to the ring. The commentary team reminds us of the fact Finn Balor will have to go this alone and there will be no O.C. to support him at ringside so no repeat of Summerslam with Gable making sure everyone is banned from ringside. Finn stands in the ring scowling at Gable before the referee calls for the bell to get this match underway!

United States title 2 out of 3 falls match: Finn Balor (c) vs Chad Gable

Finn Balor and Chad Gable circle each other in the ring early on, with both men knowing early mistakes could prove costly in this match. They lock up in the middle of the ring with Gable taking control and bringing Finn down to the mat before he fights him off. Balor rolls out of the ring shaking his head whilst Gable remains in the ring keeping calm and composed. Finn Balor steps back into the ring and locks up with Chad Gable again as they battle in the middle of the ring.

Once again Gable takes control of the lock up and brings him down to the mat grabbing his right leg! Balor has it scouted and kicks him away in desperate fashion sending Gable into the corner! Finn Balor looks to follow up with a DROPKICK… BUT GABLE ROLLS OUT OF THE RING THIS TIME! Balor stops before changing direction teasing he is going to dive over the ropes… BUT DOESN’T TAUNTING THE FANS AND GABLE! The crowd loudly boo Balor as he dares Gable to come back into the ring.

Gable slides back into the ring and we get the third lock-up of the match so far as Gable is again in control… EYE RAKE FROM FINN BALOR! Loud boos from the crowd and the referee tells Balor off warning him he will be disqualified if he does that again! Finn Balor gets to his feet and looks at the fans with disgust before tossing Chad Gable into the STEEL STEPS! Finn Balor backs up towards the barricade before HITTING A DROPKICK SLAMMING GABLE INTO THE STEEL STEPS! Gable slumps down as Finn rolls back into the ring and demands the referee start to count out Gable, asking him to speed up his count as he does it!

Finn Balor gets back up looking to go on the attack BUT GABLE HITS A DROPKICK OF HIS OWN! Gable makes the cover 1 2 Balor kicks out! Balor stays alive as Gable rolls off him and puts his head in his hands, annoyed that he cannot put away Finn Balor in this match. Both men get back to their feet as they look at each other as we approach the 25-minute mark! Both men look tired at this point as they have been throwing everything they have at each other to try to become the United States Champion! They trade blows with one another in the middle of the ring with Finn trying to fire off chops but his right arm damage is starting to affect him!

Gable takes control of the strike exchange and lays into him before SENDING ACROSS THE RING WITH A WICKED OVERHEAD GERMAN SUPLEX! Gable then turns to the fans and PULLS DOWN THE STRAPS READY TO GO FOR THE ANKLE LOCK! He goes to grab the ankle of Finn who tries to escape… BUT GABLE GETS IT LOCKED IN TIGHT AND WRENCHES ON THE ANKLE AS HE TRIES TO FORCE FINN TO TAP OUT HERE!

Gable wrenches back on the hold and tears away at Balor's ankle, with the champion screaming in pain! Finn keeps raising his arm, teasing tapping out but doesn’t want to do it and shakes his head… GABLE TRANSITIONS INTO THE GRAPEVINE AND TWISTS ON THE ANKLE OF FINN EVEN HARDER! Finn is in excruciating pain on the mat and looks like he will tap out… BUT HE REFUSES TO LOSE HIS UNITED STATES TITLE SO CRAWLS AND CRAWLS TO THE ROPES… AND FINALLY BREAKS THE HOLD!

Winner of the third fall via pinfall and NEW United States Champion: Chad Gable (29:03)

A huge pop from the live crowd as Chad Gable lays next to Finn Balor as both men are exhausted having pushed each other to the limit over the United States title tonight. The commentary team is full of praise for both men but Chad Gable was just about able to overcome Finn Balor and win back his United States title tonight. He gets to his feet and is passed the United States title by the referee as he lifts it into the air and soaks in the cheers from the crowd!

Back in the ring, Finn Balor gets back to his feet holding his right arm and slightly limping after being in the ankle lock for a prolonged time during the match. He looks furious having lost the United States title he has held for 4 months. The commentary team mentions it is a bad start to the night for the O.C. but AJ Styles could change that later tonight if he brings the Universal title back to the group. We see Chad Gable carrying on his celebrations as he heads backstage.

We cut to the backstage area as KAYLA BRAXTON is standing ready for an interview. She welcomes her guests at this time ZELINA VEGA flanked by the former WWE Tag Team Champions SHINSUKE NAKAMURA and DOMINIK DIJAKOVIC neither of whom looks happy coming off their loss on Friday Night! Kayla asks Zelina how her clients are handling losing their tag team titles on Friday and she responds by shaking her head, telling Kayla that her clients only lost due to the chaotic nature of a ladder match.

Zelina says her clients want their tag team titles back and says if Heavy Machinery had any honor they would give her clients a 2 vs 2 proper rematch, the sooner the better. Kayla then asks if she has anything else to announce and Zelina says she does. She spoke to HBK and he has agreed to let Shinsuke Nakamura and Dominik Dijakovic enter the Royal Rumble, bringing a smile to both of their faces. Kayla then asks about Zelina having to fight Mandy Rose on Smackdown which angers her and she storms off, ending the interview!

KARRION KROSS slowly makes his way out with the siren SCARLETT BORDEAUX by his side. The crowd boos him as he walks to the ring and smoke fills the ringside area around him. The commentary team says this match came around due to Kevin Owens getting involved with the Church of Seth Rollins and stopping their attacks on the likes of Edge, Rey Mysterio, Heavy Machinery etc. Kross stands in the ring scowling as Scarlett whispers to him a few words before…

KEVIN OWENS walks onto the entrance ramp! He gets loud cheers from the crowd and he ignores all the smoke, marching straight for the ring. The commentary team points out Kevin is never one to back down from a fight and he will be ready to beat up Kross tonight. He steps across the ring from the self-proclaimed devil as the referee calls for the bell to get this match underway!

Kevin Owens vs Karrion Kross w/Scarlett Bordeaux

Both men start the match off by throwing hands, brawling with each other as Kross uses his power to press Owens into the corner of the ring. Kross would follow up looking for a SHOULDER BLOCK IN THE CORNER… OWENS BOOTS HIM IN THE HEAD! Kross stumbles backward and Owens follows it up with a DROPKICK! Owens makes the cover 1 Kross kicks out! Owens doesn’t look fazed by the quick kick out looking to grab hold of him but Kross fights out of the hold!

Owens falls back as Kross charges in and clobbers Owens with a LARIAT taking him off his feet. Owens is quick to get back up but Kross tosses him across the ring with a SUPLEX! Owens lands with a thud by the ropes as Kross charges at Owens and GETS HIT WITH A STUN GUN ONTO THE ROPES! Owens runs off the ropes and connects with a WICKED NORTHERN LARIAT! Owens grabs hold of Kross once again looking to grind him down on the mat but Kross is proving too powerful! Kross goes on the attack again with a bunch of punches but Owens fights back with some of his own and EVEN ROCKS HIM WITH A HEADBUTT! Kross stumbles back before getting a SUPERKICK! Owens is starting to make progress, grabbing hold of Kross and sending him into the corner of the ring. Owens follows up with a SERIES OF CLOTHESLINES pressing Kross in the corner. He slumps down so Owens heads to the opposite corner and HITS A CANNONBALL SENTON! He pulls Kross out of the corner and makes the cover 1 2 Kross kicks out! Owens lays in a few punches to the head after the kick out before walking away from him and teasing the STUNNER ALREADY!

Scarlett outside the ring responds BY GRABBING HIS FOOT AND DISTRACTING OWENS! He kicks her off but KROSS RESPONDS BY CLOBBERING OWENS AND SENDING HIM INTO THE CORNER! Kross slams Owens in the corner of the ring as the siren smirks, happy with her handiwork! Owens tries to fight back but Kross takes full control and SUPLEXES OUT OF THE CORNER WITH A THUD! Kross now in control grabs hold of Kevin Owens and starts to grind him down on the mat, putting the Prize-fighter under pressure! We cut to THE O.C. LOCKER ROOM as we see GOOD BROTHERS and BUDDY MURPHY chatting to each other whilst AJ STYLES is training and chatting to BIG CASS! The door slams open and we see FINN BALOR storm into the room furious at the loss earlier tonight for the United States title. EMBER MOON marches out with a scowl on her face. She tilts her head as she looks at Conti in the ring, ignoring the boos from the live crowd. The commentary brings up her recent anger ever since she lost the WWE Women’s title to Bayley at Summerslam and failed to get it back. They bring up her suffering a bunch of tough losses as of late but will be looking to get back into the title picture with a win tonight. Both women stand in the ring as the referee calls for the bell to get this match underway!

Moon and Conti are aggressive early on in the match, charging at each other and laying into one another with hard strikes. She stays on the ring apron and DIVES OFF HITTING A DIVING METEORA TO CONTI!

A vicious move from Ember Moon as she grabs Conti like a rag doll and HURLS HER INTO THE STEEL STEPS WITH A THUD! Ember Moon kicks out at 3.01 but it is too late as Conti uses Ember’s temper against her to get this victory tonight. She rolls out of the ring and celebrates with the fans, having taken a beating from Ember Moon throughout this match. Ember stays in the ring meanwhile and gets into a heated argument with the referee. The commentary team gives Conti all the credit for surviving the barrage of offense from Ember throughout the match and took advantage of an opportunity presented to her to take this victory!

Taynara Conti carries on the celebrations up the entrance ramp, with commentary saying a big win like this could put her in contention for a future WWE Women’s title shot. Back in the ring, Ember is still arguing with the referee who shakes her head and goes to leave the ring… BUT EMBER MOON PULLS HER BACK AND HITS A WICKED FOREARM SMASH! Loud boos for the actions of Ember Moon as she leaves the ring with a face of fury before we cut backstage.

We see RONDA ROUSEY and SHAYNA BASZLER arriving at the arena when they are stopped for an interview by TOM PHILLIPS! He asks how they are feeling ahead of tonight’s main event with HBK ruling that the rest of the MMA Horsewomen are banned from ringside. Ronda looks at him with disgust saying they don’t need anyone at ringside to help them and calls themselves the most dominant team this division has ever seen.

Shayna carries on saying once they retain their WWE Women’s tag team titles it is only a matter of time before they regain their Women’s Universal title and WWE Women’s title. Tom asks Shayna if she is focusing fully on tonight’s match with the Women’s Universal title match against Charlotte in 8 nights on Raw. Shayna shakes her head saying she is fully focused on tonight and calls it an inevitability she will get her title back.

Tom then asks Ronda how she feels about not getting a rematch for her WWE Women’s title. Ronda just glares at the interviewer and says she will force Shawn’s hands to get her rematch. Tom then asks how they feel about facing a Boss ‘N’ Hug Connection who are fully united and working together as a team. They both laugh and say that they might be together right now but soon they will fall apart once again. The MMA Horsewomen then finish the interview walking off elsewhere as we cut back to the ring.

EDGE walks out onto the entrance ramp getting a huge pop from the live crowd. He goes through his usual signature entrance ramp with a more serious expression and we can see some tape around his ribs due to the attack by the Bloodline on the more recent edition of Smackdown Live. The commentary team talks about how tough it is to beat Roman Reigns at the best of times let alone coming into the match hurt.

*HEAD OF THE TABLE*

ROMAN REIGNS walks out onto the entrance ramp with a scowl on his face getting some of the loudest boos of the night. He slowly walks to the ring, sees Edge holding his ribs and smirks to himself. The commentary team says both of these men want to get a shot at the Universal title match and a win tonight will put them in line for a Universal title shot no matter who walks out as champion tonight between Aleister Black and AJ Styles. Roman stands in the ring across from Edge as the referee calls for the bell to get this match underway.

Roman Reigns vs Edge

Roman and Edge circle the ring to start the match, both men taking their time. Roman has a big smirk on his face and even comments on the tape around the ribs of Edge, winding the veteran up who looks to go after Roman. He meets him with a lock-up in the middle of the ring. Both men battle in the middle of the ring looking to gain the upper hand as Roman backs Edge into the ropes! He keeps hold of him until the count of 2 before breaking as he backs away from Edge with a smirk.

Edge looks annoyed and swings at Roman but he avoids it and SLAMS HIM WITH A SHOULDER BLOCK TO THE RIBS! Edge doubles over as Roman follows up with a UPPERCUT dropping Edge to the mat. Roman stands over Edge looking down at him as Edge looks up at Roman and he is furious. Edge gets back to his feet and locks up with Roman as he tries to get him in a headlock… BUT ROMAN COUNTERS WITH A BACK SUPLEX! Roman makes the cover 1 Edge kicks out!

Roman grabs Edge and works over him on the mat in a HEADLOCK! He wrenches Edge off the mat and keeps working over him grinding him on the mat. He holds the pressure on Edge with the live crowd booing Roman for slowing the pace down but he responds by taunting the crowd and carries on the pressure on Edge. Edge looks like he is going to get out of the hold but Roman transitions into a BACKBREAKER! Edge falls to the mat as Roman presses on the ribs making another cover 1 Edge kicks out!

The commentary team mentions that every time Edge kicks out it does more damage to the ribs and wears him down. Roman grabs hold of Edge working over the ribs of the veteran, some more angering the live crowd. Edge fights back but once again Roman takes control slamming him down onto his knee rib first! Edge winces in pain and clutches his ribs as Roman soaks in the boos from the crowd, enjoying his total dominance in this match.

Roman grabs hold of Edge who tries to fight back hitting Roman with a series of punches. Roman stumbles back as Edge tries to go for an EDGE-O-MATIC… BUT ROMAN COUNTERS WITH A SPINEBUSTER TO THE MAT! Roman looks a bit annoyed that Edge was able to fight back and grabs hold of him as he sends him into the corner of the ring before HITTING A SERIES OF CLOTHESLINES IN THE CORNER!

Roman picks up Edge and puts him in a CRAVATE POSITION BEFORE HITTING HIM WITH A SERIES OF KNEE LIFTS TO THE RIBS OF EDGE!

Roman is controlling the match and battering the multiple-time World Champion before picking him up and slamming him down to the mat with a SNAP SUPLEX! Roman makes another cover 1 2 Edge kicks out! Edge is showing a lot of grit but he has barely been able to gain a foot hold in this match! Roman grabs hold of Edge, lifting him off the mat once again as he taunts Edge and says he might just end his second run for good tonight… EDGE FIGHTS BACK WITH A WILD HEADBUTT!

A rare move from Edge but desperate times call for desperate measures! Roman stumbles back as Edge grabs hold of his head and plants him with an EDGE-O-MATIC! Edge makes the cover 1 2 kicks out! Edge looks to keep the pressure as he heads to the corner of the ring and dives off the top rope hitting an ELBOW DROP! Edge makes another cover 1 2 Roman kicks out! Edge is in a ton of pain and struggling to fight back from the hold. Edge tries to break free but Roman is quick to transition and SLAMS HIM KNEE INTO THE RIBS OF EDGE ONCE AGAIN! He slams Edge back down to the mat before HITTING A JUMPING ELBOW DROP TO THE RIBS OF EDGE! Roman makes the cover 1 2 Edge kicks out!

Roman walks around the ring and smirks, soaking in all of the boos from the live crowd as he tells the crowd and Edge this is his company! He stands over Edge dragging him up… EDGE SLAPS HIM IN THE FACE! A huge pop for the defiance from Edge but that pisses Roman off who hits a MASSIVE UPPERCUT ROCKING EDGE! Edge falls back into the corner of the ring and Roman follows up by charging into the corner of the ring, LAYING INTO HIM WITH A SERIES OF HARD PUNCHES!

Roman pummels Edge in the corner of the ring to the point he makes full of the 5 count by the referee! The referee has to tell him off but Roman pushes past him and lays into him with a series of STOMPS TO THE RIBS! Roman breaks from the corner right on the 5 count once again as he tells the referee to back off and turns around into a SPEAR FROM EDGE! Edge though rolls to the side taking a moment due to the damage he took in the corner before he makes the cover

Edge rolls off of Roman and winces in pain as he knows he will need to do slightly more to put Roman away for the victory. Edge grabs hold of the legs of Roman and locks him in the EDGEACTOR (Kneeling inverted sharpshooter)! Edge leans back on the hold, having Roman trapped in the middle of the ring as he tries to make the Tribal Chief tap out! Roman is in a ton of pain on the mat, struggling due to the hold as he lifts his RIGHT ARM INTO THE AIR…

BUT ROMAN ISN’T TAPPING OUT! No, he uses all of his power to flip Edge over and escape from the hold, rolling out of the ring! Roman rests outside the ring, taking a moment but Edge has no intention of letting up as he follows him to the outside of the ring! Edge goes after Roman clobbering him from behind and lays into him with a series of punches! Edge is in control of the brawl UNTIL ROMAN SLAMS HIM WITH A SHOULDER BLOCK INTO THE RING APRON!

Edge slumps against the ring apron now with his back in a similar amount of pain to his ribs and he is truly on the ropes in this match. Roman has an evil look on his face as he grabs hold of Edge and lifts him up over his shoulder… HITS A SITOUT CRUCIFIX POWERBOMB ONTO THE RING APRON! Edge falls to the ring floor in agony as the crowd loudly boos Roman but he doesn’t care as he rolls Edge back into the ring. Roman slowly waits for Edge to get back to his feet AND SPEARS HIM FOR GOOD MEASURE! Roman makes the cover

Loud boos from the crowd as Roman Reigns gets to his feet with a smug look on his face, having put away a 12-time World Champion tonight! The commentary team wonders if Edge would have been able to put up a better fight if his ribs were not damaged by the attack from The Bloodline on Smackdown. Roman carries on his celebrations at the top of the entrance ramp whilst Edge struggles to stand up and we cut to a video package ahead of the next match!

We finish the package seeing Asuka and Belair working together before Belair lays her out to stand tall with the WWE Women’s title… a sign of things to come?

She doesn’t pay much attention to the fans and instead heads to the ring with a smile on her face, confident ahead of the biggest match of her career so far. The commentary team puts over the performances of Belair and her undefeated streak since becoming part of the Smackdown Live roster. They however point out that the woman she is about to step in the ring with knows something about undefeated streaks.

*THE FUTURE (V2)*

ASUKA makes her way out in her traditional entrance attire, with the WWE Women’s title around her waist getting loud cheers from the live crowd. The commentary team puts over how few people have managed to beat Asuka in singles matches: Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Carmella, Ember Moon and Shayna Baszler. All women who have been Women Champion at least once. Asuka climbs into the ring taking off her attire as she looks at Belair during the title announcements. Belair refuses to be psyched out but Asuka smirks whilst the referee calls for the bell to get the match underway!

Asuka starts the match with a cocky smirk, almost daring Belair to come at her and try it. Belair being the young cocky superstar charges at Asuka WHO GOES FOR A SPIN KICK… BUT BELAIR AVOIDS IT JUST IN TIME! Belair knows she nearly blew her moment in seconds and Asuka taunts her asking her if she is truly ready? Belair looks furious at this and goes after Asuka and looks to take her down BUT ASUKA CATCHES HER WITH A SPINNING BACK FIST!

Belair falls to the mat and clutches her jaw as Asuka stands over her with a wicked smile. Asuka goes on the attack, laying into her with a bunch of vicious kicks as the commentary team says Belair is facing competition a step above the women she has fought before. Asuka runs off the ropes and HITS A HIP ATTACK ON BELAIR AS SHE TRIES TO GET BACK UP! Asuka makes the cover 1 Belair powers out! Asuka smiles, almost happy she is getting a challenge!

Asuka grabs hold of Belair looking to lift her off the mat for a GERMAN SUPLEX… BUT BELAIR FIGHTS OUT OF IT AND OVERPOWERS ASUKA! Asuka stumbles back as Belair grabs hold of the champion and SLAMS HER DOWN WITH A SPINEBUSTER! Belair doesn’t make the cover taking a moment to process the opening stages of the match. Asuka tries to get back up off the mat so Belair follows up with a FOREARM SMASH! Asuka falls to the mat as Belair makes the cover 1 Asuka powers out!

Belair for the first time though is in control and keeps the pressure on by laying into Asuka with a series of FOREARM SMASHES! Bianca wrenches back on the hold, wearing down Asuka as she looks to put the champion away! Bianca talks some trash telling her that she is ready and ready to become Champion but Asuka responds with a smile as she finds a way to break the hold and SMASHES BELAIR WITH AN ELBOW TO THE FACE! Loud cheers from the live crowd as these two women gave everything to try to walk out of this match as WWE Women’s Champion. Asuka gets to her feet first and is passed the WWE Women’s title, holding it in the air getting a loud pop from the fans. The commentary team is full of praise for both women and gives them both credit for putting everything on the line tonight to walk out as champion. Bianca Belair gets to her feet and looks directly at Asuka across the ring!

The two women stare each other down with Asuka smirking until she sticks out her hand. Belair looks at the outstretched hand taking a moment before SHAKING HANDS WITH ASUKA! Belair though with her left hand points at the WWE Women’s title and tells Asuka she is coming for that title. Asuka smirks and welcomes it before Belair leaves Asuka to her celebration. We cut back the commentary team who confirms the next match will be the Universal title match before we cut to another video package!

We see the clip of Black being chop-blocked by AJ Styles and the challenger standing tall before we cut back to the ring!

AJ STYLES makes his way out getting a loud mixed reaction from the live crowd. He poses at the top of the entrance ramp with a serious look on his face before walking to the ring. The commentary team points out 2018 and 2019 being disappointing years for AJ Styles with him failing to win gold, with the commentary team wondering if Black is right and the O.C. are holding him back?

*ROOT OF ALL EVIL*

ALEISTER BLACK gets a huge pop from the live crowd as he slowly rises from the depths of the arena. He stands at the top of the entrance ramp as the 2-time World Champion holds his title up aloft for the live crowd before limping to the ring. The commentary brings up the limp Aleister Black has after the stomp to his right leg by Seth 6 weeks ago and it’s not fully healed since then. They point out it could be a huge weak spot for him coming into this match. Black stands across the ring from Styles showing no fear whilst the usual title announcements are happy before calling for the bell to get this match underway!

Universal title match: Aleister Black (c) vs AJ Styles

The bell rings as AJ smirks moving slowly BUT BLACK COMES CHARGING OUT OF THE GATE AND SMASHES HIM WITH A JUMPING KNEE STRIKE! AJ is rocked as Black grabs hold of him and slams him down with an EXPLODER SUPLEX! AJ Styles lands with a hard thud and BLACK GOES FOR BLACK MASS… AJ DUCKS AND ROLLS OUT OF THE RING! The commentary team notes Black might be looking to end this quickly due to the damage to his right leg as he FLIES OVER THE TOP ROPE WIPING OUT STYLES!

The crowd cheers for Aleister Black who is in control of the match already earlier on as he grabs AJ and rolls him back inside the ring in quick fashion! Black climbs back onto the ring apron and HITS A SPRINGBOARD KNEE STRIKE WITH HIS LEFT KNEE TO A RISING AJ! Black makes the cover 1 2 AJ kicks out! Black is going after him at a fast pace and grabs hold of him looking to lock him in DRAGON SLAYER! He has the dragon sleeper locked in tight and AJ is in trouble…

OVERHEAD PELE KICK TO ESCAPE! Black stumbles back releasing the hold and AJ rolls away for the moment, getting his breath back after being trapped in the dragon sleeper! AJ gets back to his feet as Black charges in… AND CHOP BLOCK TO THE RIGHT LEG OF BLACK! The reason Black was trying to end this quickly and AJ takes advantage of the first opportunity that has arisen! Black falls to the mat as AJ looks at him with a smirk knowing he can slow the pace down and take control of the match!

AJ follows up with Black down on the mat with a JUMPING KNEE DROP to keep him down before making the cover 1 2 Black kicks out! The commentary team points out Styles will be hooking the right leg to make Black kick out and inflict further damage to it! AJ stays on the attack however as he starts to work over the right leg of Black, inflicting a bunch of damage to the Dutch Destroyer who is in a ton of pain, something we are not used to seeing from the Universal Champion!

Black is struggling to fight back as Styles keeps on targeting the right leg of Black and slowly wears him down! Black does manage to boot him off with his left leg after being trapped by AJ for a couple of minutes but is cut off as soon as he goes on the attack with a TORNADO DDT! AJ makes the cover 1 2 Black kicks out! AJ is in total control and goes back on the attack right after the kick out connecting with a JUMPING KNEE DROP TO THE RIGHT LEG OF BLACK!

Black shouts in pain as AJ looks to the ring posts and has an idea! He lifts Black up before hitting him with a SNAP SUPLEX INTO THE TURNBUCKLES! Black slumps in the corner as AJ rolls out of the ring. AJ walks around the ring and grabs hold of the legs of Black before LOCKING IN A FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK ON THE RING POST! AJ wrenches on the hold, making full use of the 5 count before breaking the hold, now getting loud boos from the live crowd!

AJ taunts the crowd before rolling back to the ring as Black struggles due to the damage being done to his right leg early on in this match. AJ looks to go back on the attack but Black desperately fights back with his left leg as Styles looks to return to his line of attack. Black struggles back to his feet and hits a BIG BOOT WITH HIS LEFT LEG! He winces in pain due to putting pressure on his right leg as everything he does is a struggle in this match!

Black looks to get some feeling back into the right leg as AJ looks to get back to a seated position as he connects with a BASEMENT SINGLE LEG DROPKICK! Once again Black uses the left leg before making the cover 1 2 AJ kicks out! Black stays on the attack grabbing hold of AJ and pressing the advantage with a SAITO SUPLEX! Black once again winces in pain before running the ropes and HITS BLOOD MOON (STANDING DOUBLE FOOT STOMP)! Black winces in pain but makes the cover 1 2 AJ kicks out!

Black is in control as he tries to avoid using his kicks as much as he can knowing AJ will pounce and target his weakened right leg, looking to lift AJ off the mat… FALLIN DDT! AJ makes the cover 1 2 Black kicks out! AJ has a smirk on his face as he looks to the ropes and SPRINGBOARDS OFF THE ROPES HITTING A MOONSAULT! AJ stays on for the cover 1 2 Black kicks out! AJ looks to go back on the attack and works over Black’s right leg once again, piling the pressure on the champion! Black is once again in a ton of pain and tries to fight back but AJ CUTS HIM OFF WITH A BASEMENT DROPKICK! AJ makes the cover 1 2 Black kicks out! AJ then grabs hold of the right leg of Black and goes for the kill LOOKING FOR THE CALF CRUSHER… BLACK FIRES OFF A SERIES OF FOREARM STRIKES KNOCKING AJ BACKWARDS! Black gets back to his feet and SWINGS FOR AJ GOING FOR BLACK MASS… AJ FALLS OUT OF THE RING AND THE RING FLOOR!

Black can be seen reaching out for him as his challenger falls out of the ring! He punches the mat in frustration knowing that was his chance to finish AJ off. He considers going for the count-out win but refuses and rolls out of the ring to the outside, limping as he approaches AJ Styles who is still out cold! He grabs hold of AJ struggling to lift him up before rolling him into the ring. He looks to follow AJ inside… BUT AJ USES THE ROPES TO DO MORE DAMAGE TO THE RIGHT LEG OF BLACK!

Black screams in pain as AJ once again pounces on the weakened right leg of the challenger! Black struggles in the ropes as AJ PULLS HIM THROUGH THE ROPES AND SPIKES HIM WITH A HANGMAN DDT! Shades of Randy Orton as AJ makes the cover 1 2 Black kicks out! AJ has a cocky smirk on his face and looks to keep up the pressure as he shouts WOO to the live crowd before locking in a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK ON BLACK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RING!

AJ wrenches on the hold, doing extra damage to the right leg of Black as he looks to force him to tap out. Corey on commentary even mentions that AJ learned from Ric Flair whilst he was fighting around America before coming to the WWE. Back in the ring, Black knows he is in a ton of pain but he needs to find a way to escape the hold! Black eventually uses all of his strength to flip the hold over and REVERSE THE PRESSURE ONTO AJ STYLES!

AJ is now the one in pain as Black puts as much pressure as possible on the submission hold, trying to force Styles to tap out! Styles is struggling to make it to the ropes and considers tapping out… BUT BLACK IS FORCED TO BREAK THE HOLD DUE TO THE DAMAGE TO HIS OWN LEG! Black rolls away from AJ and out of the ring whilst AJ rests in the middle of the ring, having had some of his own damage done to the leg. AJ sees Black getting to his feet outside the ring…

Black is fighting through the pain but he refuses to go down easy in this match! AJ looks furious before pulling Black towards the middle of the ring and looks to go for the CALF CRUSHER… BUT BLACK FIGHTS HIM OFF WITH EVERYTHING HE HAS LEFT! AJ stumbles back as Black hits him with a BICYCLE KNEE STRIKE WITH HIS RIGHT LEG! Aleister Black rolls off AJ Styles and clutches his right leg, still suffering from the assault throughout the match by the Phenomenal One! The referee passes the Universal title which Aleister Black clutches tightly, leaning on the ropes due to the damage done to him during this match. The commentary team emphasizes how much pain Black endured to win this match and keep his Universal title. AJ Styles struggles on the mat and looks devastated by the loss tonight.

Aleister Black looks down at AJ Styles on the mat and nods at him before leaving the ring, limping up the entrance ramp in pain. The commentary team wonders what is next not just for our Universal Champion but also for AJ Styles and the rest of the O.C. who are coming out of tonight with no gold when they were expecting to walk out of tonight with the US and Universal title. They then change the subject saying we are moments away from our main event and cut to a video package!

We see them destroying them until War Games where the Four Horsewomen overcame them. Ronda and Shayna are then shown losing their WWE Women’s and Universal title to Asuka and Charlotte respectively as they are getting angrier and angrier as they lose their titles before we cut to the Boss ‘N’ Hug Connection.

We see clips of Sasha Banks betraying Bayley last year on Raw and turning on her plus Becky to become Women’s Universal Champion. We then see Bayley and Banks slowly coming back together as a unit, coming to terms with trusting each other and finally hugging just before War Games. We then see the duo promising that they will take the final gold in the MMA Horsewomen’s collection and bring them down for good!

THE BOSS ‘N’ HUG CONNECTION walks out onto the entrance ramp getting loud cheers from the live crowd. BAYLEY and SASHA BANKS both look serious as they share a hug at the top of the entrance ramp before walking to the ring. Byron Saxton says the duo have told everyone that they are on the same page but Corey Graves asks how Bayley can trust Sasha Banks after what she did to her last year.

RONDA ROUSEY and SHAYNA BASZLER walk out onto the entrance ramp getting loud boos from the crowd! The duo lifts their WWE Women’s tag team titles in the air before marching to the ring, giving a death glare to the Boss ‘N’ Hug Connection. The commentary team says the MMA Horsewomen have used the tag team titles to have power over the Women’s division over the last few months but now their empire is crumbling, can the Boss ‘N’ Hug Connection deal the final blow? After the usual title announcements, Shayna Baszler enters the ring with Sasha Banks starting for her team as the main event for the show begins!

Banks and Baszler take their time once the bell rings before meeting in the middle of the ring and locking up! Shayna falls to the mat looking annoyed before crawling to the corner and tagging Ronda into the match. Bayley then calls to Banks and asks to tag in which Banks does! Bayley hops over the ropes as Ronda taunts the Hugger with a cocky smirk.

Bayley goes in and looks to go after Ronda in an aggressive fashion looking up at her but Ronda takes her down to the mat… BUT BAYLEY KICKS HER AWAY! Bayley grabs hold of Ronda and brings her to the Boss ‘N’ Hug Connection corner with an Irish whip before making the tag to bring Sasha back into the match. Bayley grabs Banks by the arm and IRISH WHIPS HER INTO RONDA WITH A DOUBLE KNEE!

Ronda slumps in the corner as Sasha and Bayley put a few boots to Ronda before the Hugger returns to the ring apron. Sasha grabs hold of Ronda before slamming her down in the middle of the ring before making the cover 1 Ronda kicks out! Sasha gets back to her feet as Shayna mouths off to her but Banks ignores it, hitting a RUNNING METEORA TO THE FACE OF RONDA! Sasha makes the cover 1 2 Ronda kicks out! Banks rolls away from Ronda and makes the cover bringing Bayley back into the match!

Bayley runs into the ring and stops Ronda from getting to Shayna by knocking her partner off the ring apron! She then turns around and hits a RUNNING DOUBLE AX HANDLE! Bayley follows up with a couple more running double ax handles! Bayley then runs the ropes again hitting a SLIDING CLOTHESLINE! Bayley doesn’t stop there and connects with a BASEMENT DROPKICK! Bayley makes the cover 1 2 Ronda kicks out! The Boss ‘N’ Hug Connection is in total control of the match so far!

Bayley rolls off of Ronda and makes the tag to bring Banks back into the match. Sasha grabs hold of Ronda looking to keep the pressure on him before sending her down to the mat. Sasha runs off the ropes BUT RONDA COUNTERS WITH A BACK BODY DROP! Ronda rolls to the corner and tags in Shayna Baszler! Shayna goes onto the attack and lays into Shayna with a KNEE TO THE BACK OF THE HEAD! Baszler makes the cover 1 2 Banks kicks out!

Baszler starts to grind down Banks on the mat and lifts her up off the mat before tossing her across the ring looking to isolate her. She brings her to the corner of the ring and makes the tag to Ronda bringing her back into the match as the two women work together to hit a DUAL SUPLEX! Ronda makes the cover 1 2 Banks kicks out! Ronda carries on working over Sasha on the mat as they target the neck and back of Banks! Sasha tries to escape… BUT RONDA HITS A BACK SUPLEX SENDING THEM BACK TO HER CORNER!

Ronda heads back to the corner of the ring and tags in Shayna Baszler once again. Ronda and Shayna work together to pick up Sasha Banks before HITTING HER WITH A DUAL BACKBREAKER! Shayna makes the cover 1 2 Banks kicks out! Shayna carries on working over the Boss on the mat and stretches the back of her! Banks is in a bunch of pain as Bayley considers breaking the hold but the Boss fights through the pain and breaks out of it to make the tag to bring Bayley back into the match!

Sasha Banks and Bayley work together as they hit Ronda (who tries to come into the ring to attack them) and Shayna with a DROPKICK EACH! Bayley goes back onto the attack, grabbing hold of Shayna and hitting her with an EXPLODER SUPLEX sending Shayna towards the corner of the ring! Shayna struggles to get back to her feet as BAYLEY HITS A RUNNING TURNBUCKLE THRUST BEFORE FOLLOWING UP WITH A BACK ELBOW IN THE CORNER!

Bayley isn’t done there and grabs hold of Shayna hitting her with a series of TURNBUCKLE SMASHES, SLAMMING HER HEAD INTO THE TURNBUCKLE WITH FORCE! Bayley breaks on the count of 4 before dragging her away from the corner hitting a GERMAN SUPLEX! Bayley makes the cover 1 2 Shayna kicks out! Bayley turns to Banks and makes the tag bringing her back into the match! Both women run the ropes and CONNECT WITH A BASEMENT DROPKICK EITHER SIDE OF SHAYNA! Banks makes the cover 1 2 Baszler kicks out!

Banks lays into Shayna with a series of kicks before running off the ropes and CONNECTING WITH ANOTHER METEORA! Banks makes the cover 1 2 Baszler kicks out! Banks stays on the attack putting Baszler in a BOW AND ARROW STRETCH ON THE MAT! She works over Shayna as Ronda looks on furious, with the Boss ‘N’ Hug Connection working well so far in this match. Shayna with her experience of submissions escapes the hold… BUT BANKS DROPKICKS RONDA TO THE FLOOR CUTTING OFF THE TAG!

Cheers from the crowd which angers the MMA Horsewomen as Shayna charges in but gets hit with a CLOTHESLINE! Banks is not done there picking up Shayna off the mat and SLAMMING HER DOWN WITH RIDE THE WINGS! Banks makes the cover 1 2 Baszler kicks out! Banks rolls off of Shayna and tags in Bayley bringing her back into the match! She runs off the ropes and hits a ROLLING ELBOW DROP! Bayley makes the cover 1 2 Baszler kicks out!

Bayley grabs hold of Shayna looking to keep up the attack… SHAYNA CATCHES HER WITH A KICK TO THE RIGHT ARM! Bayley winces in pain as Shayna follows up with a RELEASE GERMAN SUPLEX sending Bayley towards the MMA Horsewomen corner! Baszler makes the cover 1 2 Bayley kicks out! Shayna has a smirk on her face as this might be what the MMA Horsewomen need to make a comeback in this match as she tags in Ronda Rousey!

Ronda comes into the ring with Shayna as they grab hold of Bayley lifting her up and SLAMMING HER DOWN WITH A BUCKLE BOMB INTO THE CORNER! Ronda follows up with a series of punches to the head, laying into Bayley before making a quick tag to Shayna! She follows up next with a series of boots, pummelling Bayley in the corner of the ring. Sasha tries to make the save for her best friend… SUPERWOMAN PUNCH FROM RONDA!

Banks rolls out of the ring before Ronda returns to the corner of the ring and gets tagged back into the match! Ronda smirks as she taunts Bayley… BAYLEY SLAPS HER IN THE FACE! Ronda stumbles back angry, clutching her jaw full of rage and LEAPS ONTO BAYLEY CLOBBERING HER WITH SERIES OF PUNCHES! Ronda gets a warning from the referee but backs away as Bayley slumps in the corner of the ring. Ronda is quick to follow up with a JUMPING KNEE STRIKE IN THE CORNER!

Bayley gets tossed out of the corner as Ronda makes the tag and Shayna Baszler steps back into the ring with an evil smile on her face! Bayley tries to fight back and escape from the corner of the ring… BUT BASZLER CATCHES HER ATTEMPTS AT PUNCHING AND SMASHES HER WITH A KNEE TO THE FACE! Baszler makes the cover 1 2 Bayley kicks out! Baszler though has an evil smirk as she looks at the right arm of Bayley and STARTS TO TWIST IT!

She puts the pressure on Bayley, wearing down the right arm of the Hugger! Banks looks worried but stays on the ring apron for the moment as Shayna heads towards the corner of the ring still holding Bayley’s arm and tags in Ronda! Ronda jumps into the ring and BOOTS THE RIGHT ARM OF BAYLEY! The Hugger screams in pain as Ronda grabs hold of her right arm and LOCKS IN AN ARMBAR! Banks sees that Bayley might be in trouble and tries to help… BASZLER CUTS HER OFF WITH A SPINEBUSTER!

Banks rolls out of the ring due to the attack from Baszler as Ronda keeps the pressure up on the right arm of Bayley! The Hugger is full of heart and uses everything she has to get her foot on the ropes to break the hold! Ronda keeps the hold locked on tight for the full count before breaking it and making another tag to Shayna Baszler! Shayna Baszler grabs Bayley who once again tries to fight back and HITS HER WITH A GUTWRENCH POWERBOMB! Baszler makes the cover 1 2 Bayley kicks out!

Baszler smirks though as the MMA Horsewomen are in total control of the match and putting a ton of pressure on Bayley! Shayna grabs Bayley once again as she tries to escape from the beating before getting tossed into the corner of the ring SENDING HER ARM FIRST INTO THE RING-POST! Another cry of pain from Bayley as Baszler tags Ronda back into the match. Both women lift her up and HIT ANOTHER DUAL POWERBOMB TO THE MAT! Ronda makes the cover 1 2 Bayley kicks out!

Ronda Rousey keeps the pressure up as she scoops Bayley off the mat and HITS HER WITH A SERIES OF ROLLING SNAP SUPLEXES! She slams Bayley down time and time again before making the cover 1 2 Bayley kicks out! Ronda though is quick to transition as she looks to go for the ARMBAR AGAIN… BUT BAYLEY COUNTERS INTO A PINNING PREDICAMENT!

RONDA BREAKS THE HOLD AND KICKS OUT!

Bayley nearly outsmarted Ronda and the Baddest Woman on the planet knows it clocking her with a WICKED KNEE STRIKE IN RESPONSE! She heads back to the corner of the ring and makes the tag to Shayna! Shayna steps into the ring and STOMPS ON THE BACK OF BAYLEY AS SHE TRIES TO GO TO THE CORNER OF THE RING! Shayna grabs Bayley by the jaw and taunts Banks on the apron who is looking furious… BAYLEY COUNTERS AND HITS AN EXPLODER SUPLEX!

Bayley winces in pain after the move but looks to Sasha who is desperate for the tag and she crawls over as she reaches out… RONDA PULLS BANKS OFF THE RING APRON AND SENDS HER INTO THE STEEL STEPS! Loud boos from the crowd as Ronda mocks the fans! Bayley responds to this with a WRECKING BALL DROPKICK KNOCKING RONDA TO THE FLOOR! Loud cheers from the crowd as Bayley checks on Banks… SHAYNA CLOBBERS HER FROM BEHIND!

The cheers from the fans turn to boos as Baszler grabs hold of Bayley and rolls her back into the ring looking to carry on her assault. Bayley tries to fight back and catches Shayna off-guard… BUT BASZLER COUNTERS WITH A JUMPING KNEE STRIKE DROPPING HER! Baszler makes the cover 1 2 Bayley kicks out! Baszler sees Sasha coming to and getting back on the ring apron so hits TWO OF A KIND BRINGING BAYLEY TOWARDS THE MMA HORSEWOMEN CORNER! Shayna makes the cover 1 2 Bayley kicks out!

Baszler stands over Bayley like a lion circling their prey as she gets Bayley on the mat and puts her arm in position for THE BENT ARM STOMP… SASHA BANKS LEAPS INTO THE RING AND CLOBBERS SHAYNA WITH A LOU THERSZ PRESS! Sasha lays into Shayna with a series of hard left and rights, battering Shayna on the mat to protect her best friend! The referee has to warn Sasha Banks who looks at the referee… BEFORE GETTING A SUPERWOMAN PUNCH FROM RONDA ONCE AGAIN!

Ronda heads to the ring apron and Baszler makes the tag to bring Ronda back into the match as she throws Sasha out of the ring! Ronda Rousey turns her attention back to Bayley as she grabs hold of the Hugger and places her onto the shoulders going for PIPER’S PIT… BAYLEY SLIPS OUT OF IT AND HITS A BELLY TO BAYLEY! A huge pop from the live crowd as Bayley makes the cover

BASZLER BREAKS THE COVER!

Bayley might have taken a beating but she has now come close to twice picking up the win for her team! Baszler is quick to follow up by grabbing the arm of Bayley and bending it in place… AND STOMPING ON IT IN BRUTAL FASHION! Bayley screams in pain as the referee tells Shayna off but she shouts to Ronda who knows what to do and GRABS THE RIGHT ARM OF BAYLEY LOCKING IN A CROSS ARMBREAKER! Shayna heads to the outside of the ring to stop Sasha from leaving Bayley trapped all alone!

Bayley is in a ton of pain as Ronda wrenches on the lethal hold and puts a ton of pressure on the Hugger! She screams in agony as the commentary team brings up Ronda’s history of getting submission victories with this move in WWE and UFC! Bayley struggles as she tries to crawl to the ropes whilst outside the ring Shayna sends Sasha into the barricade to stop her from helping Bayley! Bayley is in agony and RAISES HER ARM INTO THE AIR…

BUT SHE GRABS THE BOTTOM ROPE TO BREAK THE HOLD!

Ronda held on till the count of 5 before breaking it, almost in shock Bayley was able to survive the lethal hold! Bayley struggles in the ropes as Shayna reappears on the ring apron and Ronda smirks making the tag to bring her back into the match! Shayna gets into the ring and stalks Bayley as she grabs hold of her from behind and lifts her off the mat hitting a GUTWRENCH POWERBOMB! Shayna makes the cover

BAYLEY KICKS OUT!

The crowd goes wild as Bayley refuses to stay down! Shayna looks furious but remains calm as she stalks Bayley who is struggling on the mat getting ready for the KIRIFUDA CLUTCH… BAYLEY COUNTERS WITH A JUMPING REVERSE STO! Loud cheers from the crowd as Bayley looks to the corner of the ring and crawls towards the corner with the fans cheering her on whilst Baszler looks to her corner… SASHA BANKS IS TAGGED BACK INTO THE MATCH!

Sasha Banks runs into the ring like a house of fire and takes down Ronda with a DROPKICK! Shayna Baszler tries to run as Banks but she ducks under her and runs off the ropes connecting with a DROPKICK AS WELL! She turns her attention back to Ronda peppering her with a series of chops sending her to the corner before hitting her with a MONKEY FLIP!

Ronda flies back to the middle of the ring as Banks climbs to the top rope…DIVING TWISTING CROSSBODY TO SHAYNA OUTSIDE THE RING! Sasha Banks gets back to her feet and climbs onto the ring apron hitting a SPRINGBOARD DROPKICK KNOCKING DOWN RONDA! Banks gets loud cheers from the crowd before running off the ropes and HITS BANKRUPT TO RONDA! Banks makes the cover

Ronda kicks out!

Sasha is fired up and knows she is in control of the match now looking at Ronda prone on the mat and after a few STOMPS TO THE BACK SHE GRABS HOLD OF RONDA AND LOCKS IN THE BANK STATEMENT! She wrenches back on the back of Ronda as she tries to force her to tap out in the middle of the ring! The commentary team mentions that Ronda has only ever tapped two times in her career and we could be about to see a third… as SHAYNA COMES INTO THE RING TO BREAK THE HOLD…

BAYLEY CUTS HER OFF! She knocks Shayna down to the mat before grabbing hold of Shayna and LOCKS HER IN A BANK STATEMENT AS WELL! The crowd goes wild as the Boss ‘N’ Hug Connection has dual bank statements locked in! Both the MMA Horsewomen are in a ton of pain as Shayna and Ronda crawl to each other… GRABBING EACH OTHER’S HANDS TO STOP FROM TAPPING OUT! This is soon broken as Bayley and Banks pull back even harder…

BUT BAYLEY IS FORCED TO BREAK THE HOLD DUE TO THE DAMAGE TO HER RIGHT ARM! Bayley is elbowed in the jaw and BASZLER BREAK THE BANK STATEMENT ON RONDA! Boos from the live crowd as Shayna grabs hold of Bayley and tosses her from the ring. Sasha tries to go after Shayna BUT SHE SLAMS HER DOWN WITH A WRIST LOCK SUPLEX! Shayna then grabs Ronda and drags her to the corner before tagging herself back into the match!

Shayna Baszler stalks Banks as she struggles to her feet and LOCKS IN THE KIRIFUDA CLUTCH! Loud boos from the live crowd as Shayna Baszler looks to choke the life out of Sasha Banks! Bayley gets back to her feet… BUT RONDA GRABS HER LEGS AND DRAGS HER OUT OF THE RING TO STOP HER FROM HELPING SASHA! Back in the ring, Sasha is struggling as Shayna brings her down to the mat and chokes the life out of her… SASHA FLIPS INTO A PINNING PREDICAMENT!

SHAYNA BREAKS THE HOLD AND KICKS OUT!

Sasha Banks did what she needed to in an attempt to survive the hold but she might have only delayed Baszler who stalks Sasha Banks looking pissed off! She grabs hold of Shayna ready to lift her off the mat but RONDA CALLS OUT ASKING FOR THE TAG! Shayna looks a bit pissed off but listens to Ronda and tags her best friend into the match! Ronda says some words to Shayna who nods.

Shayna grabs hold of Sasha hitting her with a few punches to the head before GUT WRENCHING HER OFF THE MAT IN A POWERBOMB POSITION… RONDA DIVES OFF THE TOP ROPE WITH A WICKED CLOTHESLINE KNOCKING SASHA TO THE FLOOR! A modified Doomsday device as Ronda makes the cover with Shayna standing guard!

Loud cheers from the crowd as Bayley is still fighting even through the pain and damage done to her right arm! Bayley grabs Shayna and they carry on brawling to the outside of the ring whilst Ronda gets back to her feet and looks to put Sasha on her shoulders for PIPER’S PIT… SASHA SLIPS BEHIND AND HITS THE BACKSTABBER! Sasha makes the cover

Sasha looks to the corner as Bayley is back on the apron asking for the tag and the Hugger re-enters the match! Bayley says a few words to Banks as she grabs hold of Ronda whilst Sasha heads to the top rope! She lifts Ronda up and hits the BAYLEY TO BELLY! She rolls off Ronda as Banks flies off the top rope WITH THE FROG SPLASH! Banks rolls out of the ring as Bayley pulls Ronda back towards the middle of the ring and makes the cover

Shayna saves the match for the tag team champions. Sasha Banks tries to come back into the ring to stop her but SHAYNA SPEARS HER! Banks rolls out of the ring as Shayna turns around and goes for Bayley with a JUMPING KNEE STRIKE… BAYLEY MOVES OUT OF THE WAY AND SHAYNA HITS RONDA ROUSEY! Winners via pinfall and NEW WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions: The Boss ‘N’ Hug Connection (24:24)

A huge pop from the live crowd as Sasha Banks joins Bayley in the ring and hugs her best friend as they both become 4-time tag team champions tonight! Banks and Bayley are passed the tag team titles as they lift them into the air. The commentary team puts over the performance of the new champions tonight and they worked together as a team to finally overcome the MMA Horsewomen. The show ends with the new champions celebrating whilst in the background Ronda and Shayna argue with each other as we fade to black.
