Flair in the 80s was a god at wrestling, his 90s saw much of his abilities start to dip and his attitude started to see him give less of a shit every passing year until you could tell he was phoning it in. While his 2000s was not much better, the difference was most of his abilities declined rapidly but he at least found the passion again.

I look at it like this:

70s-80s Flair: Passionate and Peak Ability

90s Flair: Lacking Passion and Abilities are starting to decline

2000s Flair: Newfound Passion but the Abilities have declined severely.

I was talking about 1990-2010. He retired from wrestling in 2012 but obviously has made appearances since then. I would argue is 2003-2005 run in Evolution was pretty good though. The 80s were his glory days though for sure

Oh don't get me wrong, Flair with the right person in the 90s could pull out a banger every now and again, but you could definitely tell by 1996 he was tired of wrestling for a long while.

I will say that 05 Flair was a crazy good year for his age too

I would say his 2001-2005 run in WWE was really quite good. It was 2006-2008 that got rough but he saved it with his retirement match against HBK haha. Having him paired with Triple H, Randy, and Batista really did allow his talents to shine and cover up his age. Once he was on his own again though, it started to become apparent he needed to wrap it up.

Or maybe his transformation into the sadistic Kishin Liger to combat the fierce Great Muta. In the not-so-distant past, Liger even made a surprise appearance at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn to battle Tyler Breeze. Jushin “Thunder” Liger covered a spectacular amount of ground and always left fans amazed, not just by his brilliant attire, or even his impeccable technique between the ropes, but by his tangible love of the sport of pro wrestling. Liger revolutionized the game and laid the groundwork for so many performers of today, but beyond that, he also set a standard for true professionalism and dedication to his craft throughout an illustrious 35 years.
