Once again, this was awesome. You are building it up really well, with WWE plummetting further and further down. Some really good stuff, such as Hogan becoming double champ, and the continous boring feuds.

Back from the Brink

Cyber Sunday Background
Raw

Hulk Hogan walked into Raw the next night with both championships, actually getting booed despite playing the face. His three challengers the fans would vote for were then presented, Randy Orton, Big Show and Shawn Michaels. Hogan never made another appearance on Raw leading up to Cyber Sunday, just having random singles matches between HBK, Show and Orton leading up to CS. Most people forgot would’ve forgotten who they were facing if it wasn’t for promos.

After putting on such a great match at No Mercy, probably the only highlight of the show, the Kingston/MVP feud continued, this time with the fans voting for the match type. The feud once again was repetitive with run-ins and sneak attacks, but the promo on the VIP Lounge the Raw before CS was gold, one of the best all year.

Another feud for the young guns was Carlito VS Matt Sydal. It all began with Carlito being jealous of Sydal’s fan reaction, then the next week getting beaten by him one-on-one. Carlito pinned Sydal twice in a row in tag team matches and the fans would pick a special stipulation for the winner or loser.

Also, the tag team championships would be on the line against whoever wasn’t voted into the WWE Championship matches. The Raws leading up to CS consisted mainly off Ted & Cody squashing jobbers. Can I get a side of bland with that bland? (Whoever gets that reference gets rep and a cookie :))

--------------------------------------

Raw News and Notes

-Needless to say, this was possibly the worst period in Raw history. The tag team champions were squashing jobbers, while Cryme Tyme were perfectly open for a championship match, but were working dark matches. MVP/Kingston remained the highlight, although HBK and Orton put on a stunning match the Raw before CS, but that didn’t raise the ratings either-

-Matt Sydal impressed everyone on Raw in his feud with Carlito, and many didn’t understand why Carlito pinned him twice in a row, as the guy was in for a huge push-

Cyber Sunday Background
Smackdown!

Hulk Hogan once again was going to have to work 2 matches in one night. The fans would vote who would face Hogan, John Cena, Edge or Undertaker. Hulk Hogan took on Cena, Edge and ‘Taker in singles matches, and beat everyone. On the final week before CS, Hogan won a tag team match against Cena and ‘Taker teaming with Edge, and then managed to lay all 3 opponents out

Like Raw, the WWE Tag Team Championships were on the line at CS against whoever wasn’t voted into the championship match. And like Raw, we say repetitive squashes by the champions.

Another feud brewing on SD! was Umaga/Kennedy, the equivalent to the Kingston/MVP feud on Raw. Umaga beat the US Champion twice in a row, before he was granted a title shot at Cyber Sunday, with the fans picking what kind of match it would be. There was some great mic work from Kennedy, but it was still repetitive, not bringing in ratings

----------------------

Smackdown! News and Notes

Many people backstage were deathly pissed off about Hogan going over Edge, Cena and Undertaker cleanly, and he was still yet to lose a match in his WWE run, whilst it should be Edge or Cena going over him

The lowest rating Smackdown! segments were the tag team matches, the same with Raw. Vince was at a Smackdown! taping in the 2nd week, and decided another scapegoat was tag team wrestling. His heroin problem was out of control now, and someone needed to stop it.

Cyber Sunday News and Notes

One of the big dramas was that the HBK/Hogan match took place AFTER the Hogan/Cena match. The match with Michaels could’ve been great but Hulk was worn out after his battle with Cena.

After this show, the creative team and the board of directors officially ousted Vince McMahon. His family sent him to a rehab clinic. But this move seemed to be lose-lose as we’ll soon find out

-----------------------------------------

After Cyber Sunday, both Raw and Smackdown! were taken off the air, but the WWE did not give up. They still had a PPV deal and a tonne of cash, so they continued the shows and streamed them on WWE. Com. They were still struggling for a TV deal again, and it cost-cutting measures didn’t air Survivor Series. After a few weeks, it was decided they needed another Vince, someone to take control and take chances. They needed a McMahon; they needed Shane. Raw and SD! continued to stream, but not with much storyline or direction, as Shane set out plans for Armageddon. He sent out tapes to every major television network, telling them out his new plans for WWE, and if they were undecided to check out the Armageddon PPV. He hired many former TNA alumni and Shane made sure every superstar in the back knew that the future of the WWE rested on their shoulders in this show.

The PPV was a massive success! USA re-signed Raw to a 3 year contract and Smackdown! got a contract with Spike. The WWE had put a lot of pressure on Shane and he made sure the show delivered, each match wowing the crowd and audience at home. The following Raw, which was now counted as the first episode, the Rosters for each show were set, and Shane McMahon revealed what this was for the WWE

This final installation was not as detailed at the last two, but it was still a very interesting read and a worthwhile addition to your BTB.

I am looking forward to your BTB in the future, especially now that I know you have good writing skills. The Armageddon results were good too, and I like HBK and Angle as champions a lot, this should be great.

Plug- Check out WWE-Reaching For The Top if you can and drop a review on the first ECW show

Royal Rumble Preview

Royal Rumble Match

???, Rob Van Dam, Brock Lesnar, CM Punk, Randy Orton, MVP, Shelton Benjamin, Carlito, AJ Styles, Big Show, Matt Sydal, Santino Marella, Elijah Burke, Kofi Kingston, Paul Burchill ???, Chris Jericho, Samoa Joe, Umaga, Jeff Hardy, Mr. Kennedy, Booker T, Christian, Kane, Abyss, Afa, Judas Messias, Boogeyman, Homicide, Hernandez

The Royal Rumble. This is where legends are born, history is made, everyone who is anyone has won this match. The winner will go onto Wrestlemania and be in the Main Event, challenging for whatever championship they decide. The Rock was asked to appear, but didn’t, although many are optimistic he shall return, despite Shane and The Rock both denying this. Or will it be faction dominated, with Revolution and the Ministry of Darkness both being represented tonight. Or could one of the two mystery entrants secure the win? There’s only one way to find out, and I don’t think it needs much explanation

WWE Championship
Shawn Michaels (c) VS Edge

After Shawn Michaels claimed the WWE Championship for a 4th time at Armageddon, his head immeadiately had a bullseye placed on it. The first man to challenge him was the Legend Killer, who Michaels managed to take care of ton the first episode of Raw. But following the match, the Rate R Superstar made his way down the ramp and speared the champion, laying him out in the centre of the ring to close the show. Edge later won a No. 1 Contenders match against Brock Lesnar and Shane announced the match for the Royal Rumble, HBK VS Edge. The champion though returned the favour, taking Edge out after the match with a good old taste of Sweet Chin Music. Edge took this personally, and injected some Bad Blood into this feud, bringing on Shawn’s close friend and mentor, Ric Flair. After belittling Flair Edge viciously attacked him and after 3 Con-Chair-To’s ran from the ring as HBK sprinted to the ring. Edge wants the championship, Shawn wants revenge. But only one will succeed! Find out this Sunday night who gets want they want, or in Edge’s case, what they deserve.

World Heavyweight Championship
Rey Mysterio VS Kurt Angle (c) VS Undertaker

After a strong showing against the champion, Rey Mysterio was granted a re-match for the Royal Rumble by then General Manager Teddy Long. But then the coup began. After Undertaker received some controversial help at Armageddon, the Ministry of Darkness was re-formed. James Mitchell, the spiritual leader of these twisted souls, managed to weave himself into the General Manager position. He began to proclaim ‘his’ Ministry of Darkness, although Undertaker would argue it was his Ministry, were the future of Smackdown! Thanks to his new authority, Mitchell placed his prize monster, Undertaker, in the World Heavyweight Championship match.

For the following weeks, Mitchell pitted Mysterio & Angle against his stable of monsters, wearing them both down before the PPV. Undertaker wanted to get in the ring and in his words ‘spill first blood’, but Mitchell didn’t allow it, instead letting Kane, Abyss, Boogeyman & Judas Messias do the hard work.

On the final Smackdown! before the Rumble, Undertaker came to the ring with the rest of the Ministry of Darkness, and they laid waste to Mysterio and Angle, ‘Taker and Kane simultaneously chokeslamming the men through the Spanish and Smackdown announce table

Will Rey or Kurt be able to overcome the Ministry? Or will James Mitchell get his wish ad have Undertaker as his World Heavyweight Champion?

Intercontinental Championship
MVP (c) VS Matt Sydal

Matt Sydal is the most exciting Raw superstar in a long time, wowing the WWE fans with incredible highflying moves. MVP, of Revolution, holds the one thing that is holding Sydal back from making it big, the Intercontinental Championship. Sydal should’ve won the title at Armageddon, but the crafty MVP knocked Matt out of the ring and scored the pinfall for himself, keeping his championship reign alive. Sydal was granted a re-match at the Rumble, and even managed to beat Carlito, Shelton Benjamin and ALMOST Randy Orton. With none of MVP’s band buddies at ringside, can the exciting high flyer capture the championship he sore sorely wants and deserves, or will Montel V. Porter escape with the bling as usual?

World Tag Team Championship
Motor City Machine Guns (c) VS The Empire

MCMG are another young and exciting prospect for the WWE, claiming tag gold from Londrick at Armageddon. On Raw, there was a new tag team revealed-The Empire. The ruthless William Regal and his British protégé Paul Burchill issued an Open Challenge, and managed to get a victory over a local team. The next week, The Empire beat Londrick in an impressive match, before challenging the champions to a non-title match the next week. The Empire got the victory, proclaiming themselves the no. 1 contenders for the Tag Team championship, and the MCMG accepting a match which is sure to be a rumble. Can the champions retain against the ruthlessness of The Empire. Or will the gold go to the motherland?

Royal Rumble
January 28, 2009

Pyro!

Pyro!

Pyro!!

JR: Hello folks, welcome to the Royal Rumble! The Road to Wrestlemania 25 begins tonight, who will come out on top tonight in the Royal Rumble?

King: And will Edge once again climb to the top of the mountain and become the WWE Champion once again?

JR: That one is sure to be a slobber knocker King, let’s hand you over to our Smackdown broadcast colleagues, Michael Cole and Mick Foley!

Cole: Thanks JR, Mick, will James Mitchell fulfil his goal of his Ministry leaving the Royal Rumble with the World Heavyweight Championship and the Royal Rumble winner?

Foley: I don’t know, but more importantly will the Great One himself show up here tonight?

Cole: We’ll find out a little later, let’s hand you back over to JR & King for our first match!

World Tag Team Championship
Motor City Machine Guns (c) VS The Empire

JR: Thanks Michael, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin are two exciting young guys, but can they defeat the British duo of the veteran William Regal and his protégé Paul Burchill, who have been on quite a tear as of late

King: Either way it’s going to be a hard fought victory if the Guns can pull one out of their bag of tricks

William Regal starts up the match with Chris Sabin and the two lock-up. After a quick exchange of strength, Sabin flicks around and puts Regal in a headlock. Regal counters the move into a back suplex which he bridges into a pin, only getting a 1 count. Sabin gets back up and runs towards Regal and is hit with a vicious clothesline. Regal puts Sabin in an armbar and then stretches out to get the tag to Paul Burchill, who bounces off the ropes and drops his knee across the shoulder joint of Sabin. Burchill covers for a 2 count before he pulls Chris up by the head, hitting him with repeated right hands until the referee admonishes him and makes him release. Burchill does before he grabs Sabin’s arm and extends it, before twisting it around and beginning to strike it stiffly with heavy elbows. Burchill drags Sabin over to his corner and tags in Regal.

Burchill keeps the arm twisted before Regal runs and boots Sabin in his shoulder, The Empire doing a great job of isolating Chris Sabin early on. William now puts Sabin in a chicken wing manoeuvre, standing over Chris to make it harder for him to move. Shelley starts to bang on the turnbuckle, before the crowd joins in and wills Chris on. He slowly gets to his feet as the crowd clap, before kicking Regal in the gut and beginning to make his way over to Shelley, but Regal sprints after him and grabs him by the skull, pulling Sabin up short and then pulling him down hard onto Regal’s knee, shoulder first. Regal covers for a 2 count, before twisting the arm he and Paul had been working over the whole match and dragging Sabin to his corner, before tagging in Paul Burchill. Burchill extends his knee and Regal twists the injured arm once again, before dropping down and having Sabins shoulder and arm strike Burchill’s knee, possibly separating the shoulder of Chris Sabin.

Burchill though only gets a 2 count from this manoeuvre, and frustration sets in. Burchill puts Sabin in a hammerlock and then tries to throw Sabin shoulder first into the mat-but Sabin counters! Chris holds onto the top rope and Burchill falls straight to the mat, allowing Sabin to get the tag to Alex Shelley! Shelley gets the hot tag and continually takes down Burchill and Regal, before nailing Burchill with a big hurracanrana, which he bridges into a pin. One, Two, Thr-No! Regal runs across the ring and sends his boot straight into Shelley’s skull!

The referee is instructing Regal to leave the ring, and Burchill takes advantage, smacking Shelley with a low blow before delivering the Twisted Sister! One, Two-No! Alex Shelley managed to grab the bottom rope! Burchill is incensed and begins to viciously unload punches across the skull of Alex Shelley. Burchill lifts Shelley up, before putting him in a front facelock. Paul tries to perform a vertical suplex, but Shelley counters, flipping over Burchill and landing on his feet, connecting with a big neck breaker which sends both men crashing into the mat. The crowd will the men on as both try to stretch out-and both get the tag to their respective partners!

Sabin’s shoulder is still visibly hurt, but he fights through it, knocking Regal down with some lightning quick kicks. Sabin climbs up to the top rope and flies off, trying to hit a big leg drop onto Regal. But William rolls out of the way and the only thing that gets splashed is the canvas! Sabin gets back up holding his shoulder, and Regal sprints towards Chris, hitting a massive big boot to Sabin’s shoulder and we can see the pain on his face. Regal covers, but once again he only gets a two count!

Regal is angry as hell and pulls Sabin up by the hair, taunting him. Suddenly, Chris leaps up and delivers a big hurracanrana to Regal! Sabin runs across and tags in Shelley! Sabin and Shelley attack Burchill and Regal as the crowd is going nuts! Sabin lifts Regal up and drops him back down with the Cradle Shock, before running across and cross bodying Paul Burchill through the ropes! Alex Shelley then dives from the top rope with a big splash and covers!

One!

Two!

Three!

Motor City Machine Guns win by pinfall
STILL World Tag Team Champions: Motor City Machine Guns

King: They did it!

JR: The Motor City Machine Guns continue their reign as World Tag Team Champions!

--------------------------

We go backstage and see Coach standing by with the World Heavyweight Champion, Kurt Angle

Coach: Kurt, tonight you have to defend your championship against two men which significantly lowers your chances of retain-

Angle: Hey, what the hell do you mean lowers my chances? I’m Kurt freakin’ Angle, it doesn’t matter how many men I face, it’s just one more ankle I need to snap! I’m purely unstoppable, and tonight there is more of a chance of me retaining than The Rock showing up tonight! It’s true, it’s DAMN TRUE!

Coach: Well, speaking of The Rock, do you think he will be here tonight?

Angle: What a redundant question. How stupid are you and these people? The Rock has said it, Shane has said it, The Rock is not going to be here! That egotistical prick has sold out, that’s just the way it is people. You’re gonna have to accept there is a new Great One in town, and his name is Kurt Angle!

--------------------------------------

Intercontinental Championship
MVP (c) VS Matt Sydal

JR: MVP makes me sick to be honest King, he’s nothing but a young punk, him and Revolution. At least none of his buddies have accompanied him to the ring to stack the odds against young Matt Sydal

King: But ever since he won that Intercontinental Championship from the Jamaican Sensation at Cyber Sunday MVP has been near unstoppable

JR: Please don’t even mention that show King…

Sydal enters the ring and is full of energy playing for the fans, when MVP comes up behind him and rolls him up, grabbing a handful of tights in the process. The move though only garners MVP a 2 count, and when both men get up Sydal hit’s a series of kicks to MVP’s guts and ribs, followed by a jumping spinning heel kick to the jaw of Porter. Sydal waits for MVP to get onto his hands and knees before standing on his back and going for a moonsault, but the champion sweeps Sydal’s legs out from beneath him and Matt falls to the mat. Sydal is getting to his feet in the turnbuckle and MVP charges slamming his boot into Sydal’s face. Sydal flies over the top rope rather unceremoniously and crashes down onto the floor below, as MVP does his ‘Ballin’ taunt to the chagrin of the fans.

MVP stands in the ring pointing and taunting the fans, but when he turns around, Matt Sydal is up on the apron and springboards from the top rope and dives at MVP with a big cross body. But Porter sticks his boot up and buries his foot deep into the sternum of Sydal. MVP laughs as cockily covers the challenger, his attempt at victory only yielding a 2 count. MVP laughs it off though before kicking Sydal hard in the back. MVP lifts Matt up and slaps him around a bit, when suddenly Sydal leaps up and performs a head scissor takedown to an unsuspecting champion!

Sydal continues to build up steam, hitting various kicks and punches on MVP, before nailing a standing moonsault off MVP’s back! Matt climbs up to the top rope while the frenzied fans go wild. He leaps off for the Shooting Star Press-but MVP rolls out of the way and Sydal crashes into the mat! Porter begins to work over the left knee of Sydal, which he sees Matt holding after he hit the mat. MVP tugs on it and drops some elbows, until Sydal pushes Porter off with his leg strength. When MVP gets up he is met by a jumping spinning sole kick from Sydal, who then bounces off the second rope and hit’s a Double Helix! One, Two-No!

MVP managed to kick out at 2, and Sydal once again goes to the top rope. MVP though gets up in time to shake the ropes and make Sydal fall down and straddle the rope. MVP goes up top and begins to pound on the skull of Sydal. MVP then proceeds to put Sydal in a front facelock, thinking superplex. MVP then hoists Sydal up-and drops him straight back down to the mat with a superplex. One, Two, thr-No! Sydal once again kicked out of the champions pin attempt.

MVP is furious and begins to drop knees straight into Sydal’s skull. The referee quickly puts a stop to this and lets Matt get to his feet. He runs straight at MVP, who delivers a snap belly-to-belly suplex, throwing Sydal over his head. MVP gets back up and taunts Sydal, before setting him up for the Playmaker. Sydal though counters and once again gives MVP a massive heel kick, which sends the Intercontinental Champion falling through the ropes. Sydal plays for the crowd as MVP slowly gets to his feet on the outside floor. Sydal sprints across and Suicide Dives through the ropes at the champion, only to have MVP sidestep and Sydal crash hard onto the floor, which silences the raucous crowd. Sydal is getting up to his feet near the steel steps, and the crowd can only watch on in horror as Porter prepares to deliver the Player’s Boot. MVP runs and goes for his trademark move-but Sydal runs out of the way and MVP’s foot only meets steel! Matt crawls back into the ring and MVP quickly follows him.

Porter is immediately hit with a flurry of punches and kicks, followed by an extremely quick head scissor takedown before Sydal slowly, with pain and passion searing in his eyes, begins the ascend up onto the top rope. Sydal gets up to the top and soars high through the air, but MVP lifts up his knees! Sydal springs up into the air on impact clutching his mid-section. Porter pulls Sydal up by the hair roughly, before delivering a hard right hand and throwing Matt into the turnbuckle. Porter drops some more fists into Sydal’s ribs and abdomen, before throwing Matt over his head with a big belly-to-belly suplex, Sydal sent sliding across the canvas after a thunderous crash.

MVP now gets cocky and saunters over to Sydal. He pulls him up and goes for another belly-to-belly, except this time Sydal lands on his feet as the crowd go berserk! Matt waits for MVP to turn around before springing up and delivering a hurracanrana to the champion, bridging it into a pinning combination.

One!

No!

Porter managed to throw Sydal off! Sydal gets up and slams his boot into MVP’s gut, before delivering a hard swinging neck breaker. Matt once again, pain visibly searing through his body, goes up to the top rope. MVP though manages to knock the top rope, and Sydal falls down and straddles the top rope. Porter goes over and hooks Sydal onto his shoulder into an electric chair type position. As MVP slowly moves to the centre of the ring, Sydal counters into a Victory Roll! One, Two, Three!

Matt Sydal wins by pinfall
NEW Intercontinental Champion: Matt Sydal

JR: Sydal has done it! Matt Sydal is the Intercontinental Champion!

King: And I can’t think of a more deserving young man!

Sydal climbs onto the top rope with his belt in hand, the crowd cheering him on, a match Matt Sydal will remember forever!

MCMG vs the Empire: In your matches I notice very little selling but other then that this was a good matcvh but I did not like Sabin getting beaten down from the word Go.

Angle Promo: Very Good and in Character.

Matt Sydal vs MVP: Besides the very little selling it was a very good match.

AC: Good PPV so far the only thing is I kinda got lost in the matches a little so yeah

Moter City Machine Guns vs. The Empire: Good match. Like Gards said not to much selling.. The most was from Sabin. I didn't mind Sabin with the shoulder injury, but I kinda of wouldv'e liked the match for abit longer, and have The Empire mess with the shoulder some more. Shocked you didn't incorparate arm bar's, and other technical holds from Regal :/ Overall decent match. It had a "whatever" ending. Simple tag is made, faces win type thing.

Angle Promo: It was pretty much in character.. Just two notes..
Angle usually say's "It's True.. It's DAMN, true" at the end of his promo's. Also, I'm kinda suprised that Kurt Angle admitted that The Rock is The Great One.

MVP vs. Matt Sydal: I love the way you write Sydal. It's sort of different from mine which is cool. Well I'm heading in a new direction with him because all those roll ups, and bridge pin's kind of cheat him out the victory. But it's in character so that's a plus. At the end when MVP knocked the top rop, I was confused if Sydal fell. Isn't that what usually happen's? Well it was also a good match. Nice to see Sydal keeping the title.

Additional Comments: Right now it's going good so far. A few thing's here, and there. I can't wait for the Rumble match. The Rock returning should be good. Or I mean if he returns lol.

Royal Rumble Match
???, Rob Van Dam, Brock Lesnar, CM Punk, Randy Orton, MVP, Shelton Benjamin, Carlito, AJ Styles, Big Show, Matt Sydal, Santino Marella, Elijah Burke, Kofi Kingston, Paul Burchill ???, Chris Jericho, Samoa Joe, Umaga, Jeff Hardy, Mr. Kennedy, Booker T, Christian, Kane, Abyss, Afa, Judas Messias, Boogeyman, Homicide, Hernandez

WWE Championship
Shawn Michaels (c) VS Edge
If The Rock win's it would more than likely set up HBK/The Rock match which people have wished for. I think you wan't to write it :)

World Heavyweight Championship
Rey Mysterio VS Kurt Angle (c) VS Undertaker
Undertaker wouldn't be pinned, or submitted hear.. Angle makes Mysterio tap out via Angle Lock.. No real reason for Taker, or Mysterio to leave champion..

Undertaker stands up brashly and stares at Mitchell

Taker: I do NOT need your help!

Mitchell: I got you into that match Deadman, and I can take you straight back out!

Taker continues to stare at Mitchell before he slowly turns around and walks out of the door, Mitchell with a sinister smile on his face

We see Rey Mysterio walking down the hallway, before the screen is split into thirds, with Angle and ‘Taker on the other sections

World Heavyweight Championship
Kurt Angle (c) VS Rey Mysterio VS Undertaker

Cole: It’s game time here on the Smackdown side of things!

Foley: This was originally scheduled to be a one-on-one re-match between Kurt Angle and Rey Mysterio, but James Mitchell many may say ‘abused’ his authority by placing one of his Ministry henchman, the Undertaker into the match

Cole: Nevertheless, Angle claims that isn’t going to affect him, we’ll see if he can retain against Rey Mysterio and Undertaker, who over the past 7 years have been the cornerstones of Smackdown!

As soon as the bell rings, the two heels back Rey into the corner and start barraging him with fists and boots. Undertaker now grips Rey by the arm and begins to walk along the top rope for his vintage Old School, but Kurt Angle shoves the Deadman off the top rope, who falls down onto the floor surrounding the ring hard. Angle laughs as he lifts up Rey and delivers a hard belly-to-belly suplex, which he transitions into a bear hug type manoeuvre on the mat, before he spins around and mat wrestles Rey, going for the cover after a leg drop to the back of his head. One, Two-No! ‘Taker drops his elbow across Kurt’s back and breaks up the pinfall attempt.

Undertaker now lifts up Angle gives him the Snake Eyes, before following it up with a charging big boot. The Deadman turns around Mysterio jumps up for a tornado DDT, spinning around the Undertaker’s body with massive velocity, until the Undertaker counters and drops Mysterio with a Sidewalk Slam! Angle though is back on his feet and catches ‘Taker around the hips, connecting with one of his trademark German Suplexes! Kurt begins to drop his knee into the back of Undertaker’s leg, before burying it deep in there and beginning to pull the shin up, trying to extend ’Takers knee. Undertaker writhes in pain as Kurt then lifts up his knee and buries it into Undertakers back, putting him in a one-legged Boston Crab. ’Taker is struggling in the hold when Rey Mysterio springboards from the top rope and tries to catch Angle off guard with a West Coast Pop, but Kurt is ready and has already got the hold released, and catches Mysterio in mid-air, before power bombing Rey into the turnbuckle!! Mysterio is seated in the corner, and the champion, who seems totally in control at this point, begins to drill Rey with fists to the ribs, before grabbing Mysterio and delivering an overhead belly-to-belly suplex, which sends Rey sprawling into the Deadman, who had just gotten up! Mysterio lands in a lateral press, and the referee begins to count the pin! One, Two-But the champion breaks up the pin! Kurt then drags off Mysterio and puts him in the Ankle Lock! Mysterio is in complete agony but Kurt drags him into the middle of the ring and Mysterio has nowhere to go!

Rey is seemingly about to tap, the pain in his eyes. He raises his hand up-when the Undertaker charges through with a big boot into Angle’s temple! Rey slowly crawls into the bottom turnbuckle, clutching his ankle as the Deadman goes after Kurt Angle. Undertaker lifts Angle up by the head and knocks him back down with a hard right hand, before flipping Kurt over onto his stomach. Undertaker now starts to slam his right knee into Kurt Angle’s back, before getting up and springing off the ropes, then dropping his elbow into Kurt’s back. The Deadman buries his knee into Kurt’s spine, before pulling Kurt’s head up roughly, in a kind of Camel Clutch, shoving all his weight on the neck and back of the champion. Kurt slowly manages to stretch out and grab onto the bottom rope, forcing the Undertaker to break the hold.

Kurt slides out under the bottom rope but Undertaker keeps up the pressure and follows him out. Angle is grabbed in the back of the head and Undertaker tossing him back first into the barricade, before Rey Mysterio flies off the top rope and tries to plancha onto the Deadman. Amazingly though, Undertaker catches him! ‘Taker sadistically carries Mysterio over to the steel steps-before dropping him across them leg first!! Mysterio lies on the mat clutching at his left leg, as the Undertaker laughs at the pain he has caused Rey. Undertaker snaps his head sideways and sees Angle getting up, swinging at him with his right hand, but Kurt ducks and drills the Phenom with a German suplex on the floor!! Kurt holds on and hits another German, before hitting a third and final suplex on the floor, the Undertaker clutching his upper back as Angle out-strecthes his arms and taunts his opponents and the fans.

Rey is still holding onto his leg when Angle grabs him and drops him knee first onto the announcers table. Kurt starts to strip the announcers table, preparing to put Rey Mysterio through it. Undertaker though comes through with a big right hand to Angle, and the two start brawling in front of the table. ‘Taker drills Kurt with a very hard right which makes him fall across the table, before Undertaker steps onto it, pulling Kurt up in the process. The two men stand on the announcers table and Undertaker wraps his gargantuan hand around the champion’s throat, preparing to drive him through the table with his trademark choke slam. Angle is about to be hoisted up in the air, but he counters and ducks under the Deadmans arm, delivering the Angle Slam through the announcers table!!

‘Taker is laid out on the broken table as Kurt gets to his feet and sees Rey Mysterio using the other announcer table as support to get himself up to his feet. Angle runs up behind Rey and chop blocks him, sending Mysterio back onto the floor, before throwing him under the bottom rope and back into the ring. Kurt laughs and taunts as Mysterio gets up to his feet, much to the fans chagrin, before charging up behind him and slamming his boot into the back of Rey’s calf, the match now almost a one-on-one battle between Angle and Mysterio, ‘Taker still down on the outside. Angle takes Mysterio’s leg and hangs it over the top rope, before climbing onto the apron. He holds onto Rey’s skull and then begins to lean back, grabbing onto Rey’s leg and putting all his weight on it. The ref counts to 4 and Angle lets go, before Mysterio falls back down to the mat clutching his knee. Kurt goes back into the ring and rests in the turnbuckle lazily laughing as Rey gets up using the ropes. Angle falls to the ground and grabs his knee, mocking Rey, who is once again using the ropes as support to get to his feet. Mysterio is up and Angle cockily saunters over, before Mysterio slams him the gut with a toe kick, using his good leg of course. Mysterio then ignores the pain searing through his leg, and drills Kurt with a hurracanrana.

The crowd become frenzied as Rey hobbles back up. Angle gets up incensed and blindly charges at Mysterio, who drop toe holds him onto the second rope!! Rey bounces off the other side of the ring and hobbles across speedily, and fights through the pain hitting Angle with the 619! Rey stands on the apron, when suddenly ‘Taker places him in a seated position of the apron, before dropping him onto the floor with a Last Ride!! Undertaker climbs back into the ring and covers a fallen Angle

One!

No! Kurt kicked out of the pinning attempt! Undertaker gets up irately and stares down at Kurt angrily, who has just got up onto his hands and knees. Undertaker bounces off the top ropes and kicks Angle straight in the ribs. ‘Taker then jumps up high in the air and drops his leg across the champions throat. One, Two-No! Angle once again managed to kick out of the Phenom’s pin. Undertaker now gets up and performs his throat slit taunt, but suddenly Mysterio painfully springboards off the top rope looking to West Coast Pop ‘Taker, but he gets caught around the throat! Undertaker throws Rey high into the air and drops him back down with a vicious chokeslam!! Undertaker is looking at Mysterio when Kurt Angle slips up behind him and delivers the Angle Slam!!

One!

No! The Undertaker grabbed the bottom rope! Kurt gets up and slams the mat, thinking he had the match won with that move. Angle hops up and drops the straps before putting Undertaker in the Ankle Lock!! ‘Taker though quickly counters and sends Kurt into the turnbuckle. Undertaker gets up and runs at Mysterio, who counters and drop toe holds Undertaker onto the second rope! Mysterio, pain running through his leg, manages to break through the pain barrier and deliver the 619 to the Deadman! Rey then climbs up onto the top rope, and flies off with a No-Handed Splash!

One!

………

No! Kurt Angle stomps across the side of Rey’s head and knocks him off the cover, before putting him in the Ankle Lock!! Mysterio’s knee is obviously still racked in pain from the entire match-up, and his stuck in the centre of the ring! The Deadman is still out on the mat and has no chance of knocking Kurt off. Rey still won’t give up though, and Angle drops down to the mat, putting a grapevine on the leg and adding extra torque to the ankle of Rey. Mysterio is trapped, and taps out in the middle of the ring, securing the victory for Kurt Angle!

Kurt Angle wins by submission
STILL World Heavyweight Champion: Kurt Angle

Foley: I truly believe that Rey Mysterio was poised to become the new World Heavyweight Champion Michael!

Cole: Me too Mick, if it wasn’t for Angle watching on and letting Mysterio take out the Deadman, I highly doubt he’d be walking out with his gold!

----------------------------------------

Once again we are backstage, this time with Maria

Maria: Please give my guest right now a warm welcome, he is none other than the WWE Champion, the Heartbreak Kid, Shawn Michaels!

HBK: Thanks Maria

Maria: Now Shawn, coming up next, you’re defending your WWE Championship against the Rated R Superstar, Edge. How do you feel after what Edge did to your best friend and mentor a few weeks ago on Raw, Ric Flair?

HBK: How do I feel Maria? How do I feel? How did America feel when the Two Towers were attacked? How would a son feel if his father was shot down? How did the wrestling world feel when they lost Eddie Guerrero? As far as I’m concerned Maria, Edge is lower on the food chain than a pile of dog crap. Everything he’s going to get in that ring tonight is going to be exactly what he deserves. I’m going to make Edge’s friends and family, however few there may be, feel the pain felt by the friends and family of the Nature Boy. Edge, you better look out, because you’re soon going to have to change your name from the Rated R Superstar, to the Hospital Bound Superstar, because after I’m through with you, you’re going to be carried out of this arena on a stretcher!

Maria: But some say the attack of Flair was simply a ploy by Edge to do just this, incite you into such rage you’ll be out of your game tonight?

HBK: You know what Maria, it doesn’t matter if it’s mind games, or if this was a ploy by Edge. What he did to Ric Flair is inexcusable, and tonight is the night, after all the horrible things Edge has done, he FINALLY gets what’s been coming to him for years!

‘Sexy Boy’ sounds throughout the arena and Shawn looks at Maria before walking off screen, his match about to begin

--------------------------------------------

WWE Championship
Edge VS Shawn Michaels (c)

JR: It’s time for one of the most personal WWE Championship matches in recent memory! King, after we heard those heated comments by the champion just moments ago, do you think Edge’s actions against Ric Flair were all a sick ploy to infuriate HBK?

King: I dunno JR, who knows what goes on in the sick mind of Edge. But I think we all know that Michaels won’t be focusing on defending his championship, he’ll be focusing on hurting Edge

Before Edge even enters the ring, Shawn runs down the ramp and crash tackles Edge on the steel walkway, taking him down before delivering a barrage of fists before the match can even start. Edge manages to shove Shawn off and tries to walk into the ring, but HBK quickly follows behind him and throws Edge into the barricade. Edge is getting up and Shawn runs at him, but goes gut first into the barricade as Edge rolls out of the way and goes into the ring. HBK isn’t out for long though and very soon after Edge rushes into the ring, only to be met by repeated stomps as the bell rings and the match finally starts.

Edge then drags the champion to the middle of the ring and bounces off the ropes, before dropping his leg across HBK’s neck. Edge covers for a 1 count before pulling the champion up and throws him into the ropes. Shawn ducks a clothesline attempt by Edge, before catching Edge as he turns around with a Lou Thesz Press! Shawn continues to rain down on Edge with rights and lefts until the referee physically forces Shawn off and onto the ropes. Edge is quickly up and runs at the champion, who backdrops Edge over the top rope! But unbeknownst to Shawn Michaels, Edge hangs onto the apron! HBK turns around and Edge hits him in the head with a forearm, before putting Michaels in a front facelock. Edge hoists him up, and the whole arena gasps as the Rated R Superstar vertical suplexes Shawn to the floor!!

HBK rolls around on the outside, clutching his back in pain. Edge gets up first and sadistically chuckles and pulls his hair back as we see his vicious blue eyes. Edge pulls up HBK roughly and begins to drive him lower back first into the ring apron, Shawn cringing with each hit. Edge lets go as HBK crumbles to the mat, before rolling the champion under the bottom rope. Edge follows him in when the referee gets to about 8, before dropping his elbow into the lower back of Michaels as he tries to get onto his feet. Edge once again chuckles sadistically before putting Michaels in a Boston Crab. HBK is in a lot of pain but he slowly manages to make it to the bottom rope, Edge still only releasing his grip at the 4 count.

Edge pulls Shawn up by the hair and then goes to throw HBK into the turnbuckle, but Shawn counters and Edge goes into the turnbuckle! HBK holds onto his back before he runs at Edge. The moments hesitation though cost the champion, as Edge managed to get a drop toe hold on Shawn and send him into the turnbuckle. The mind games obviously have got to the champion, as he seems rushed and not thinking through his moves. Edge begins to dig his shoulder repeatedly into Michaels lower back, before throwing Shawn into the opposite turnbuckle with so much force that HBK crashed into the turnbuckle back first and spirals over the top rope and down to the floor. Michaels clutches at his back as he uses the ring apron to get onto his feet. Edge springs from the other side of the ring for a baseball slide, but the champion dives out of the way!!

Shawn now delivers a very Nature Boy-like chop, too a chorus of ‘WOO!’. Edge though retaliates with a rough right hand to the skull, causing the Heartbreak Kid to fall back onto the barricade. Edge rolls into the ring and breaks the count, before running at Shawn and trying to clothesline him over the barricade and into the crowd, but Shawn counters and flapjacks Edge rib-first onto the barricade!! Shawn rolls into the ring to catch his breath and awaits Edge getting back to his feet, then flying over the top rope with a plancha. Shawn gets all of it and sends Edge back down onto the floor, grabbing his back after executing the move. Both men get up and slide into the ring at the same time, HBK though getting the early advantage, scoop slamming Edge after he gets to his feet. Michaels now begins to pump up the crowd as he climbs onto the top rope, after a short pause because of the pain in his back, HBK lets out a big ‘WOO’ and leaps off, sending his elbow straight into Edge’s sternum.

Shawn leaps up to his feet despite his back searing in pain, begins to bounce up and down, the crowd become a frenzy as HBK begins to tune up the band!! Shawn does the stomps and waits for Edge before going forward and trying to connect with the super kick, but Edge sidesteps and manages to grab onto HBK’s mid-section, before dropping Shawn down onto his knee with a high velocity backbreaker! Edge keeps HBK across his knee though, and pushes down on Shawn’s head and knees, pushing his knee deeper into the spine of the champion. Michaels struggles in the hold, but the crowd begin to try and will the champion on with an ‘HBK’ chant. Shawn begins to stir with the fans behind him, as he manages to send a couple of elbows into Edge’s head and make him release the hold and stumble back into the ropes Shawn is up and Edge walks towards him quickly, but gets floored with Sweet Chin Music!! Michaels falls onto the cover!

………

No! Edge grabbed onto the bottom rope! HBK is distraught as he gets to his feet, holding onto his back. Shawn is standing with the referee asking him if it was 2 or 3 and the referee confirms it was only two. Michaels cringes in anger before he turns around, not seeing the menacing Edge charge towards him and drop the champion with a Spear!

One!

………

Two!

………

No!! Shawn Michaels kicked out, he kicked out of the Spear! Edge gets up furious, and once again runs his fingers through his hair, reveal a maniacal look upon his face. Edge squats down in the opposite turnbuckle as HBK slowly tries to get to his feet, preparing to deliver a second Spear to the champion. Michaels turns around and Edge begins to spring at full speed across the ring, but HBK sidesteps out of the way and Edge crashes face first into the second turnbuckle! Michaels and Edge both lay on the mat, the referee beginning a ten count. He gets to six when suddenly the champion stirs, before kipping up to a huge pop, clutching his back when he is back on his feet though.

HBK once again begins to tune up the band, looking to finally put the Rated R Superstar away. Edge is up on his feet groggily, but instead of Sweet Chin Music as the fans expected, HBK pulls Edge’s legs out from underneath him and puts him in a Figure 4 Leg Lock! Edge screams in pain while the crowd is up on the feet, not knowing what will happen next. Edge looks like he is about to tap, his hand hovering above the mat, but he manages to use all of his remaining to strength to roll over onto his stomach, and reverse the pressure onto Shawn Michaels! HBK is racked in pain also, the move as dangerous for him as it was for Edge. HBK once again though rolls through and puts the pressure back onto Edge!! The Rated R Superstar cannot hold on much longer, the hold visibly taking effect. Edge uses his last ounces of strength and reaches out over his head, managing to grip the bottom rope!

HBK is forced to let go of the hold and lays exhausted on the mat, neither man able to get to his feet. Both slowly struggle up using the ropes, before firing off fists and chops at each other, the crowd giving off a pop or heat for either man respectively. Edge though manages to back Shawn back into the turnbuckle, before knocking him with a hard forearm to the head, and tossing him to the opposite turnbuckle. Edge sits panting for a few short moments as both men sit in opposite turnbuckles, before he runs at the champion. But HBK is prepared, and drills Edge with Sweet Chin Music!!

JR: This is it, what we’ve all been waiting for folks, the Royal Rumble match!

Foley: Who will Main Event Wrestlemania? And more importantly, who will the two mystery superstars from each brand be?

King: I’m not sure Mick, I don’t think anyone is except the superstars themselves. Let’s get this Rumble underway, who is the unlucky son who drew number 1?

Entrant #1: AJ Styles

Entrant #2: Chris Jericho

The bell rings and the 22nd annual Royal Rumble is underway! Jericho and Styles lock up before AJ backs Y2J into the ropes and throws him across the ring and nails Jericho in the head with a Pele kick to a big pop. Styles stands on the apron and springboards off going for a big flying forearm to Jericho, but is nailed in the gut with a dropkick. Both men slowly get to their feet as the crowd will them on, trading fists as they stand. Jericho throws Styles to the ropes, but gets nailed with a reverse elbow by AJ! He’s got him hooked in, about to connect with the Styles Clash-but Jericho counters and backdrops AJ over his head. Jericho goes over to the ropes and springboards off, hitting his own signature Lionsault! Chris grabs Styles legs and cinches in the Walls of Jericho!! AJ is screaming in pain as the buzzer sounds.

Entrant #3: CM Punk

Punk sprints down to the ring and nails Jericho in the head with a big roundhouse kick. Chris falls off the Walls of Jericho and Punk throws him into the turnbuckle. CM charges from the opposite side of the ring and drilling his knee straight into Jericho’s skull, before transitioning the move into a bulldog and slamming Y2J face first into the mat. As Punk gets to his feet, Styles comes spring boarding off the ropes and does a complete backflip in mid-air, before landing and gripping CM Punk, delivering a hard Stylin’ DDT to a huge pop. Chris Jericho now grabs AJ Styles and takes him over to the top rope, trying to shove him over to the top rope.

Entrant #4: Santino Marella

Santino slides into the ring with a microphone in hand

Santino: Hold on-a, hold on-a, Santino has something important to say-a! Now all of you-a may want to become-a the a-Royal Rumbler, but NO, you will-a not, because the Royal Rumbler is going to be-a Santino Marella! Look at-a all of you, drinking your Papsi little CM Funk, everybody knows the Coka-Cole is better! And doing pretty-a little flippity-flops CJ Steels, that-a get you nowhere, because little boys-a do not a-belong in Santino’s Ring-a! Then-a we come to Chris Jariko! Please-a Mr. Jariko do not-a lock me in your walls-a, please-a please-a! So all of you should-a jump over the top-a of the rope-a, before you are embarrassed at the hands-a of Santino Marella, for if you don’t-a, I will-a being tossing you off-a all night-a long!

AJ, Punk and Jericho all look at each other before staring at Santino weirdly

Santino: No-a, no-a that is not what I meant-a! I like-a the ladies!

Marella drops to the mat as the other 3 men quickly advance on him, before they turn on each other. Styles dropkicks Jericho square in the face, before turning around and giving a big Pele kick to Punk. The buzzer sounds and the next entrant comes down the ramp

Entrant #5: Booker T

Santino suddenly joins the action and takes Styles and Jericho both down with a big double clothesline. As Marella turns around CM Punk hits him with a thrust kick to the ribs, only to have Booker T kick him in the mid-section and set him up for a Scissors Kick. Punk steps out of the way though, and hoists Booker up onto his shoulders for the GTS. Booker wriggles off though and drives his foot straight into the skull of Punk, before doing the same to Styles. Jericho though runs up and gives a huge step-up enzugiri to Booker T. Santino starts to hit Y2J with some lefts and rights, but Chris ducks one and Marella’s own momentum sends him soaring over the top rope and down to the floor, much to Santino’s shock.

Elimination #1: Santino Marella

Entry #6: Brock Lesnar

Lesnar comes into the ring like a steam train, taking down Booker and Jericho. Brock now grabs CM Punk and pulls him onto his shoulders, setting him up for the F5. Styles comes into the action and runs at Brock, but Lesnar lifts AJ up and puts him on his shoulders along with CM Punk as well!!

JR: Look at the strength of Brock Lesnar!

Foley: He’s strong, but is he THAT strong?

And yes he is that strong, delivering an F5 to CM Punk and AJ Styles at the same time! The fans chant “Holy Shit†as the action continues in the ring, Chris Jericho drilling Booker T with the Codebreaker! As Y2J gets back up, Lesnar grabs him and slams him down into the mat with a vicious powerslam. The buzzer sounds and Brock stares down at the ramp awaiting the opponent

…

Entrant #7: Bret Hart!

JR: Oh my god!!

King: I think I’m going to have a heart attack, no pun intended!

Foley: And just listen to this crowd erupting for the Hitman!

Brock and everyone else in the ring are shocked as Bret Hart walks to the ring, absorbing the atmosphere. Bret goes wild, unloading with fists and boots to the other competitors in the ring. Hart grabs AJ Styles and drills him with a piledriver, before putting Booker T in a front facelock. Lesnar comes charging through and clotheslines Hart, taking him down into the bottom turnbuckle, where Brock proceeds to stomp a mudhole. While this goes on, CM Punk and Chris Jericho double suplex AJ Styles, before Punk ducks an enzugiri by Jericho and puts him in a one-legged boston crab.

Entrant #8: Judas Messias

Judas comes to the ring but is caught by Lesnar, who slams Messias onto his knee before giving him a Last Call onto the mat below. CM Punk stands near the top ropes trying to shove Chris Jericho over the top rope. AJ Styles locks-up with Bret Hart, who counters and pulls Styles legs from beneath him, locking in the Sharpshooter to probably the biggest pop of the night. Booker T though quickly breaks up the hold with a big side kick to Bret’s skull. Lesnar lifts Messias up for an F5, but Judas counters into his own Straight to Hell! Y2J elbows Punk in the skull and CM wanders away before Chris runs at him, but Punk ducks down and gets Jericho on his shoulders, nailing the GTS!

Entrant #9: Carlito

Judas and Hart trade blows, while over in the corner Booker T and Brock Lesnar try to toss AJ Styles over the top rope. Jericho and Punk are getting up to their feet, when Carlito slithers into the ring and gives Punk a big Backstabber. He prepares to do the same to Jericho, but Y2J holds onto the ropes and Carlito crashes down hard onto the mat. Hart ducks a big right hand from Messias, before hitting him square in the jaw with a dropkick, the force sending Judas over the top rope

Elimination #2: Judas Messias

Booker T and CM Punk brawl on the mat, while AJ Styles springboards from the top rope and hit’s a double flying forearm to Carlito and Chris Jericho

Entrant #10: Paul Burchill

Booker T bounces off the ropes and hits his signature Scissors Kick to CM Punk. Jericho is in the turnbuckle getting pounded by Brock Lesnar, who is snuck up on and gets hit with the Backstabber by Carlito. Bret Hart is still on a frenzy, and puts AJ Styles up on the top rope, setting him up for a super-plex. But Burchill comes into the ring and pulls out Hart’s foot, sending him face first into the mat. AJ is still groggy up on the top rope when Burchill pulls him onto his shoulders-but then Brock Lesnar comes flying across the ring and sends both men over the top rope with a big boot to Burchill’s sternum.
